"NDG’s ice cream and sorbet of choice comes from the lovely Ca Lem, which over the years, has expanded to include five locations sprawled across the city. There’s a clear eye to Asia in its flavours, with options like taro, lychee, black sesame, and more." - Valerie Silva
Ca lem is one of my favourite ice cream places. However, the Laval branch is the most disappointing. I’ve been there 3 times throughout the past year and they have horrible hours, don’t have the flavour of the week, don’t have soft serve, their website and their hours have different hours, and the staff is just rude. This place is useless

I drove past it. It was hard to find. It needs better advertising. All I saw was a games place. The service was very good, friendly and bilingual. The ice cream ( pandan coco) was delicious as usual, but very sweet. I wish you had a stevia option for people with diabetes.

I was a bit disappointed in the CaLem Laval store. I was looking forward to their soft serve and felt it was a bit “watered down” and lacked flavor. The candy placed on it was also hard as a rock.
It would be nice to have some seating inside
for guests to enjoy as there is not much seating outdoors apart from a small bench.
It would be nice to see some of the inspiration decor from your original store to keep the vibe going.
For almost $18 for two comes of ice cream, I left disappointed.

Best ice cream place ever, all lactose free and with some of my favorite flavors not offered anywhere else like pan Dan leaf and taro.

Ive always been fan of their ice cream, BUT I do not recommend the Laval branch. A very disappointing 20min drive.
First of all, it's a counter in another business (claw machines for kids). The counter has no sign to indicate it's Ca Lem business. We were so confused. They don't have any decorations (which is the total opposite of the Ca Lem in Mtl). It looked unfinished, in renovations, low budget, or rushed for the opening. We then asked if they were still renovating and the employee said no.
There are no tables or chairs to sit and enjoy the ice cream. They have a tiny bench by the window with a subwoofer underneath so we couldn't hear ourselves talk. Not to mention we were the only customers and the employees had nothing else to do but to litterally walk around in circles around the claw machines. The atmosphere was so terrible we didn't finish our ice creams and left.
They also do not sell ice cream buckets to go. Only the brenches in Mtl do.

If you're looking for amazing flavors of ice cream. That's the place. Ca lem is known for Asian ice cream. They have a lot of varieties. I always have a hard time choosing which one to pick. Luckily, they let you try as many flavor as you want before deciding which one to pick. They have vegan options and the soft ice cream of the week. My favorite is the caramel crunch with chocolat chip inside.

Great flavours. Friendly service. Ice cream texture was grainy with ice chips.
