Ca l'Estrany

This restaurant deserves its spot in the Michelin guide. I hope they can get the star soon too because the food is amazing and so is the service. Extraordinary experience deserving of 5 star review. Visited August 5th 2022 for lunch. You get a bottle of wine and water included in the price of lunch menu. Food is perfectly cooked and the service is very polite and attentive. My ravioli with mushrooms and poached eggs was unbelievably delicious. Be aware that food portions are not small and we were quite full after the desserts. I will definitely come back next time I am around Cabrils and I would recommend everyone to visit as well.

The best restaurant I tried in this place, we were well received and we tried the octopus it's really great and a special thank you to Muhammad, he makes things better

Update: finally did have lunch here and everything was really tasty with great treat! Will comeback for more. They are open till 00:00 however they found nothing on the menu possible to order at 22:40, becouse kitchen closes at 22:30 - absolutely not the way you retain regular customers.

Usually this is a great place to eat and the service is usually great as well. Sadly today, Christmas Day, when they had a lot more temporary staff and a full restaurant as well, it was very disappointing. We felt they were rushing us very quickly( I was still eating the first plate and they already started serving the main) and the service was just a disaster. It felt like most of the temporary waiters were at their first service, just very far from the usual professionalism. The food was good as usual, but I haven't enjoyed it as usual because of the initial rush.

We had a wonderful experience at Ca l'Estrany. We had booked the New Year's Day menu in advance but ended up being an hour late (a rookie mistake of not knowing not many taxis ran on Jan 1). The staff still accommodated us, let us finish our meal and desserts after closing time, and even booked us a taxi for the way back. The food was amazing and so was the service. Severin, our waitress was an absolute delight: professional, friendly, and overall a kind person. Everyone else made sure we enjoyed ourselves, too. Would definitely recommend this place and hope to visit again!

Second visit, this time to check out the dinner menu. Of course I also took croquettes and they were amazing. Very delicate so you can taste the base of the croquettes as well as the additional flavours. Sounds simple, yet many restaurants cannot do that properly while Ca l'Estrany does their croquettes perfectly balanced. Going back to the dinner menu. For first dish I took onion soup with toast and cheese. It was fabulous. Very rich taste of onion and cheese, just got me in a great mood. As main course I decided to go for grilled octopusses. They were delicious and that is coming from a person that normally is not a great fan of squids and such... But those just tasted great. After lovely two meals I was already full and then I remembered that there is still desert waiting! Took a cheesecake and was not disappointed in the slightest. It took a while to eat though as I was already full and the piece of cheesecake was quite generous. Last detail that I would like to mention is service. It really stands out, every staff member is polite and they make sure you are happy throughout your dinner. What was a biggest plus for me, was the fact that there was no issue for the staff to speak in English. I have noticed in many restaurants around Barcelona that it is actually a problem so it was nice to see this aspect being taken care of too.

It was our first and last time at this place. How in the world did they manage to get a Michelin star? Everything from food to service was 🤮 Too bad I didn't read recent reviews before we went. My friend had an upset stomach after their food. Apparently it used to be the place but not anymore. What a shame... REPLY TO THE OWNER´S REPLY: Thank you for your kind response! What a relief - it´s not a star, just a recommendation! It´s interesting how you´re saying that my friend didn´t eat at your place... Perhaps it was an imaginary friend that I brought with me and paid for her lunch? There is no way there were 120 people having lunch there. The place wasn't even half full. The plates were dirty and chipped, ensalada rusa tasted funny in the middle and I stopped eating it when I realised it wasn't fresh. Waiters were clumsy and unprofessional. They brought food but not the cutlery. Twice. We tried to call them but were unsuccessful - they were busy chatting. I had to get up and take cutlery from another table. Ikea style. I could continue the list... It's not the first negative review you received and I never give negative reviews without a very good reason because I care about the business and people who are involved. But in your case I have changed my review from 2 star to 1 star because instead of listening to people who took time to come to your place and paid money for that, you choose to be obnoxious.

The area is quite and nice. Very cozy restaurant and great and quick service. They have a menu that includes big portions and good quality of food. I tasted the paella and it was amazing ! We will repeat definitely
