Twin Cities’ Biggest Restaurant and Bar Openings, July 2025 | Eater Twin Cities

"Located along the shores of Lake Minnetonka in the new Shoreline Hotel, this waterfront restaurant is self-described “South Florida meets Minnesota” and offers seafood, pizzas, pastries, and waterfront views with greens and herbs grown on-site. It’s open for breakfast through dinner plus weekend brunch, has a dock for boat arrivals, and sits in the first hotel built on the lake in 100 years; the restaurant is named after property owner Kelly Olsen’s grandmother." - Jeffy Mai

We had reservations for a small group for dinner Sunday night. The parking is plentiful - once inside the restaurant is down 1 floor. We were seated outside on the lake and the view was amazing. There is dock parking as well if you prefer to come by boat. The service has room for improvement, very slow and not very engaging. Once we placed our orders the food took a long time to arrive. Once the food arrived everything was pretty good overall. Our group had a variety of dishes and everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. Maybe in a few months they will get the service a little sharper, and the kitchen a little faster.

The one thing that sticks in my mind about this place is the view. Undeniably stunning. I know this place is brand new so I'm excited to come back after they have gotten into the groove of being open. I have helped open a restaurant so I get how the first weeks are. The staff although stressed was fabulous! Everyone helped each other out and was very attentive. It took quite a while to get our drinks and food, but again, that is to be expected when u are working out the kinks. The food however was overall delicious. The pizzas got a high praise, as did the gnocchi. Many of the dishes lacked presentation but was yummy. Truffle fries were tasty and so crispy, the walleye was nice and flaky. It was very hard to hear, there wasn't much decor to muffle the sound but we heard that is also being worked on. Fabulous experience overall! So glad we have another place on the lake to eat and i would love to tour the hotel as well someday!! Can't wait to try it again! Welcome to Lake Minnetonka!

New Restaurant, with really great food, warm staff and a great head chef! We had the chips and dip, organic greens salad, gnocchi, pizza and a delicious fried bread type desert. Truly fantastic. They allow modifications for vegetarians. They are having some very minor service organization issues but their staff are very helpful, cordial and pleasant. The lighting is pretty bright and the noise level in the main dining room can get a little high. Just the acoustics of the room I suspect. But they do have outdoor seating and a fantastic lakefront view. They allow dogs on their patio seating which is awesome.

I stopped in today for my birthday. We were able to be seated outside overlooking the lake. The restaurant was beautiful and so was the view. Everything on the menu looked fantastic, had a hard time deciding what I wanted to eat. We ordered the chips and dip which were fantastic as well as the salmon and the pasta. Finished off the dinner with the bunito, which was also absolutely fantastic. I had a wonderful time here and can’t wait to go back. This is a fantastic place, I’m looking forward to returning some time for brunch. Thank Paulina for the great service. You made our visit perfect!

Truly felt like we were on vacation last night at Cabana Anna’s! Every detail in the food was magic, I swear the chef hand placed every grain of salt and blessed every delicious herb (fresh from their garden!!) Delicious cocktails, amazing views, knowledgeable staff, 10/10 would recommend. Can’t wait to go back!

I’m from Florida and Wahoo is a prized fish and couldn’t believe that they had wahoo tacos and they were fantastic! My wife had. margarita pizza that was also excellent! Great atmosphere as it’s hard to get much closer for lakeside dining!

Wow! The food is incredible! We had breakfast, and it was so good we came back for dinner! More importantly, the staff is so friendly and personal. The executive chef even visited our table for a conversation and thanked us for dining. The atmosphere is very neutral and gives you a great sense of lake life!

We’ve been to Cabana Anna’s a few times now and it’s quickly become one of our favorite new spots on Lake Minnetonka. The lakeside location is beautiful and makes even a slower-paced meal feel like a relaxing experience. The sausage pizza with white sauce is absolutely incredible-it’s become a must-order every time we go. On our first visit, I had the chicken (a little dry, but the sauce more than made up for it-it was chef’s kiss). My husband got the smash burger and raved about it, and a friend who got the steak said it was also excellent. Pro tip: get that chicken sauce on the side no matter what you order! On another visit, I tried the Cobb salad-fresh, flavorful, and a great portion. A friend ordered the manchego salad and said it was her favorite dish so far. Most recently, we brought my brother and his kids, and while it’s not a typical kid-focused spot, they were super accommodating with a kids menu and crayons. The kids mac and cheese they got was honestly some of the best I’ve ever tasted-ultra creamy and comforting. Service has always been friendly and attentive. They’re still new, so sometimes the pace is a bit slow, but with that lake view, we really don’t mind. The only downside is the acoustics-it can get loud when it’s busy, so some sound-absorbing touches would go a long way. Overall, a great addition to the lake scene-delicious food, kind staff, and the kind of place you keep wanting to come back to. Can’t wait to return!

Yelp
My family and I went for dinner, all staff are very friendly and welcoming! A few from the group had pizza, hubby had the smash burger and I had the walleye, all were very good!! My only critique is that it is very LOUD, we could barely hear our server, perhaps they could add more color to the venue with sound absorbing panels of some kind...and the bottled beer I had was not very cold...otherwise, we will return, perhaps for the lunch menu to try the walleye sandwich!

Yelp
We caught a lucky break one Thursday afternoon at the end of July, and swung by Cabana Anna's at 4 PM for happy hour. There is patio space with sofas and chairs and a small deck with umbrella tables. We scored the table all the way at the east end. Good news, they are dog friendly!! When I questioned the hostess she said, "bring it on!" Service was very good because there were so few people there at the time but I could see how busy it got inside the restaurant after 5. At 4:00 you get the dinner menu. We had the chips and dip which it seemed everyone was having. They serve artisan pizza and we had the "Shrooms" pizza. We enjoyed both. The leftover pizza heated up perfectly 3 days later in the oven at home. Husband had the Old Shore Old Fashioned, which he said was "adequate." We are Old Fashioned snobs with The Noble Lion, Winchester and Rye and Hazelwoods winning first, second and third on our drink card. I had the Lychee Lake Martini which was sour and salty and found itself poured discreetly over the end railing. Stick to your tried and true favorites and brands. There seemed to be plenty of boat parking and we noticed many people picking up pizzas for their dinners on board. The lot was full of fancy cars when we left at 6 PM. It had gotten very busy. We'll try the inside restaurant when the weather turns cold.

Yelp
It's fun to have a new restaurant right on the Lake Minnetonka shoreline! While the restaurant has gorgeous views, you can tell it's still working to get it's feet on the ground. Our waitress was very sweet, but our food took quite a bit to come out to us. There weren't that many folks having lunch on a Friday afternoon when we were there. The chips and dip were great, but we needed more chips. The salad was also delicious and fresh, but on the smaller side. Both pizzas we had were yummy too, but didn't wow us for being in the $20 range. A true standout is their in-house pastries from their pastry chef. I am still dreaming about the eclair! I think I'd only lunch here, as the vibe v. price for dinner doesn't match up. The high price of the dinner menu doesn't jive with the lawn/patio chair furniture atmosphere. For that price, I want warm and cozy vibes. All in all, I am looking forward to visiting this place again next summer when it's more established.

Yelp
I was a little disappointed with this place, I did come Memorial Day weekend on that Monday. First off they were out of most every drink option (only 2 white wine choices), draft beer was also very limited. Before they sat us down I would have liked to know that most drinks and menu items they were out of. I am giving the benefit that it was one of their first weekends. For the food, I thought it was very good! Most people got pizza and I would definitely get that! I got the wagyu beef smash burger and it was amazing! Overall it was a little disappointing but service was nice and it is a very nice place.

Yelp
My friends and I visited this place on a Sunday evening. We were very excited to finally be at a restaurant on the water. The view was great, I think this would be a great spot even if you just wanted to get a cocktail watching the sunset. Overall, the experience was just OK. The food was good, a little on the pricey end for a basic menu however, given the area it is understandable. Unfortunately the service was very slow all around for both our drinks and our food. Additionally, the weight staff didn't really check in with us or update us on the timing of our orders. The overall vibe of this hotel and restaurant is very welcoming and new/ fresh. The parking lot is large as it is attached to a hotel so there are a lot of spots. you do have to enter and go downstairs in order to get to the restaurant. It is brand new so it's very clean and well decorated. I'm hoping once they start to get busier and settle in the service and consistency will get better. I would love to visit again in hopes of improvement.

Yelp
this beautiful lakeside restaurant is about to blow visitors minds and tastebuds. thanks to the lovely Cindy (make sure to say hi - she'll be your new favorite server ), we were able to attend the soft opening & revel in an amazing assortment of dishes and sips from the menu. Lakeside dining lovers - download the Toast app ASAP and get in your reservations for breakfast, lunch or dinner before the sunny weather creates a waitlist * * * * * Right on Lake Minnetonka, @cabanaannas nails both the view and the food. Whether you're inside, outside, or boating in (yes--they've got a 32-slip marina), you're in for an absolute treat. Think Florida coastal flavors meets Minnesota comfort. I had shrimp three ways and still wanted more. Not a plate clean in sight! Want to turn it into a staycation? @shorelinehotellakeminnetonka sports 27 stunning guest rooms--mostly facing the lake, and others with private decks. We got a peek inside and trust me, they're as dreamy as the view! ***** Whether you read this or just scroll through the , I hope the visuals speak for themselves. I labeled everything (that I could) we ate & drank for easy reference. Every dish brought its own flavor and flair-- well-portioned, thoughtful & delicious. The cocktails? Next level. Don't skip the Dock of the Bay. As for salads, each one had its moment. And dinner? Tough call, but my top picks were the steak frites and ricotta gnocchi with shrimp. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything here. ‍ We will absolutely be back.

Yelp
Fun new place on Lake Minnetonka! The vibe is very light-hearted and feels like a coastal beach restaurant, which I liked. Service was quick for our larger group and very kind. Very disappointed that they were sold out of nearly half their food and drink options, but we did come Sunday for dinner after Memorial Day weekend. I'm sure they did not anticipate the amount of people they got. Food was excellent! Smash burger was amazing and we had the house salad alongside it, was honestly one of the better salads I've ever had. Everyone else at our table got pizzas and they all seemed happy! The menu does look extremely pricey and the pizzas and burgers are clearly the best value. Would be interested to try their more expensive options but it would be a tough sell over the pizzas or burger.

Yelp
Newly opened eatery on lake Minnetonka, located within the Shoreline hotel. We made reservations for 8 at 6p for dinner and were seated outside- the view from their patio is wonderful and they have a boat docking area if you'd like to arrive via water. Parking was ample and clear instructions were provided of where to find the eatery downstairs. The menu is not large and focuses on interchangeable proteins with main dishes, shareable appetizers, and salads. They also have a nice cocktail and mocktail list which was great to see. Our table ordered various items such as the Wagyu smashburger, Beet Salad, and Herb-crusted chicken. Our table was a part of 8 and it took a considerable amount of time to be visited by our server for drink orders, dinner orders and delivery of our food. Once we had our items, everything tasted good and no one had feedback that their meals were served under temp, or problems with flavor. I personally would have the Beet salad every single day- it was light, refreshing and I appreciated that all the veggies and citrus added was at peak and didn't taste overripe. Overall, the place is cute with its beach aesthetic. Some improvements to service could really improve the overall experience. I currently need to give it 3 stars but will visit again later once they've been open much longer.

Yelp
My family dined here on a Saturday night (7/26); we were a party of five and we had a reservation. We were seated right away, and while it wasn't busy when we got there, it did fill up. The views are amazing, but the rest is a bit disappointing. The restaurant is loud--it is noticeably hard to hear what others in your group are saying while sitting at the same table. That really needs to be addressed, as it kills the vibe. Decor is sparce and could also be improved. The food was ok. I was not impressed with the shrimp and gnocchi dish that I ordered, but the pizzas were good. The server was nice, but seemed overworked and was very, very sweaty. She also brought a beer to the table and spilled some of it, but left it like that, so I went to the bathroom to get napkins. I hope with more time, they work out some of the details.

Yelp
We had a 6:15 PM reservation at this so-called "restaurant" and specifically requested patio seating when we arrived. They rudely dismissed us, claiming it's first-come, first-serve--yet refused to seat us at an open table because others were "in line" for it. What kind of deceptive nonsense is that? That's not first-come, first-serve; it's a blatant lie! To make matters worse, the indoor seating was an absolute assault on our senses. Our Apple Watches warned us we were risking hearing damage from the unbearable noise level. This is hands-down the loudest, most chaotic restaurant or bar I've ever been to. If you value your hearing or want to have a conversation with friends and family, steer clear of this place like it's a disease-ridden dump. Avoid at all costs!

Yelp
I chose Cabana Anna's for a lunch meeting with two colleagues, my first meal since it opened. I ordered the beet salad and it was one of the best I ever had--loads of beets, beautiful colors--delicious! Unlike others with more greens than beets, this one was filled with red and orange beets and cherry tomatoes. Service was outstanding--happy server, nice smiles all around. We sat outside on the upper deck--weather was perfect, Spring Park Bay was gorgeous--the beach area in front of our space was clean and inviting. Looks like a great place to work. Competitively prices and scrumptious presentation. I will definitely order again and next time add the protein option:) Thank you to Kelly and her colleagues, including Natalie who greeted me and showed the beautiful conference space. You all did it! Long over due--Spring Park is very lucky you brought a hotel/restaurant back to Lake Minnetonka after almost a century-- steps away from the Hotel Del Otero, one of the last big hotels of Lake Minnetonka. Bravo!!!

Yelp
First off, this place is new and no doubt still working the kinks out so my hope is to come back and give a better rating. My real hope is someone there reads this and considers suggestions for improvement. Changing the building into a hotel and restaurant was an amazing feat. I watched it via Facebook as it unfolded and am so excited for them to have opened. It is a gem on the lake. The view from the restaurant is amazing - I only wish the weather had been nice enough to be outside on the deck. We will consider boating over for brunch and hope there is an open slip. The cocktail menu was fun though none of us were "wow'd" with what we got. They have limited wines and bottled beers but don't have their taps listed anywhere and our waitress struggled to ramble off the names but didn't know what was an IPA vs. a lager etc. Huge miss here - put your taps on a menu somewhere, at least a small slip of paper so people can browse them. This is an annoyance other places and is completely unnecessary with an easy fix. Also, consider adding a wheat beer. The food menu was quite small and what hit us right away was truffles was all over it. None of us are really fans so it really eliminated a number of dishes. Consider cutting back on the truffles 80% or more or let it be optional. Hard to believe a chef would do that. We started with a nosh board which was very disappointing. Tons of cheese cubes, 4 small pieces of toast, a little meat, some pickles, and a boring sauce. It wasn't worth half the price charged and I have to believe they had just run out of things and were making due because if not that was one horrible app. I couldn't really find a main that struck me as the two I wanted had truffles so I got the smash burger. It was ok, wish I'd have asked for no pickles and sauce as it was very salty. The fries were tiny but good. One odd thing is they literally didn't tell you on the menu what came with fries or if they were a side option. This just confuses people and makes the staff answer unnecessary questions. The others had some of the main dishes. We all agreed we could have done better cooking these ourselves, and that is always a disappointment for the price. The service was ok, they were new and we are forgiving of that. Teach them how to open wine bottles and not rely so much on their hand-helds. We will go back for Bruch or lunch but not likely dinner again unless the menu changes. This is too bad, we live in the area and only have a limited selection of places and having to do a one and done is never ideal. Again, we hope it is just the newness and that changes will be made.

Yelp
Sat and ordered drinks, everyone's came out except mine. Ten minutes pass and they come take our food order, still no drink until we remind them. Food arrives and everyone gets theirs except me (again). We let them know and they apologize and say they somehow missed it and it would be about 6 more minutes. 20 minutes pass, still no food and everyone had already finished eating. They ended up giving it to me on the house and service was very apologetic. View was great, food was great, drink was great - just wish it were different circumstances.

Amanda N.

Yelp
Food was great, patio was nice. Not pictured was the Maple bacon donut which was also delicious. They are still getting their feet under them, so service was a bit slow. Manager was amazing and acknowledged that and made it right. I'd go back.

Yelp
Good food, but the interior environment needs work. The place is very loud, with nothing but hard surfaces all around. Sit outside if you can. Other complaints could be chalked up to it being a new restaurant experiencing growing pains so I can forgive some order errors and delays.

Celeste L.

Yelp
Much touted new place on the lake, hotel, restaurant, bakery. Stopped in a little after 6 a.m. to grab some donuts. For $3.50 apiece they are absolutely NOT "fresh" donuts. Stale, chewy, tasted like they'd been sitting there for days. If they can't get their little bakery counter right, and charge that much for junk...

Jen B.

Yelp
My husband and I had an amazing dinner at Cabana Anna's!!! The Steak Frites and Salmon were spectacular and all my husband could say after the first bite was "wow"!!! The view is breathtaking and service was wonderful!!!

Yelp
Visited the restaurant on a Tuesday afternoon and was seated immediately (definite plus). The hostess sat us at an outdoor table and provided menus. It was probably 7-10 minutes later that we asked a hostess to move to a table with umbrella (shade) and she said we had to check. In the 3 minutes, a group of 2 seated after us moved to a table with an umbrella where the table had not been cleared. She showed back shortly thereafter and said she could move us, then she looked and said that she could not and apologized. Hostess then said she would get us some menus and our waitress. Another 5 minutes passed by, still no waitress. We decided to go elsewhere. Saw the waitress on the way out and she asked if there was an issue. We said yes, we had been seated for 15 minutes and no one other than the hostess had stopped by and it was as if we were not there. We let her know that there was no acknowledgement or I'll be right back or anything else. She looked at me like a deer in headlights and no response. I see that they are new and may be trying to work out the kinks, but I think there may be more to the story. Understaffing? Training? A little customer service goes a long way.

Elaine H.

Yelp
We were SO excited to try Cabana Anna's as we live directly across Lake Minnetonka (to the north) and were happy about a new dining experience nearby. Fully realizing that this is a relatively new place, we expected a few glitches and were willing to live with that. We dined on a Friday night and the place was packed (good for them!) but the noise level was truly intolerable. I mean - BEYOND loud! Even our server complained about how she can't hear what people are ordering. Aside from that (and it's not a hard fix to get some sound absorption in a 'clanging' room like this!), one of the orders didn't arrive with the rest of the food (in fact, came about 12 minutes later - and it was only a pizza), the fish and chips (my husband LOVES fish and chips) were "awful" in his words (dry, overbreaded fish; seemed frozen and poorly thawed). I had the apple/manchego salad and thought it was okay although the promised marcona almonds amounted to a tiny sprinkling on top of the salad. The truffle fries were great - kudos for those! Our server tried her best and I can't fault the level of service she provided. But until this place solves their noise problem, we won't be going back.
