Part 2 of 2
The third time was tonight, where my friend and I waited in the longest line ever, wrapped around the store. We finally reached the lady who was pressing the tortillas. My friend told her buttermilk flour burrito, and she said okay. Then she asked me, so I told her buttermilk flour burrito and also regular fish tacos for to go, please. The rest we will eat here. Then she asked me, “What size?” and I said, “For what?” and she said, “For the burritos.” She didn’t ask my friend that, and I have never had anyone ask me that before here. Then she misunderstood everything and thought we ordered two fish taco dishes, so we had to re-explain. Finally, everything was fine after the guy next to her said, “Okay, one regular fish tacos to go, alright,” which I was doubting was actually going to get made.
Then I told the cashier that the workers in the front said okay to making the fish tacos to go, but I don’t think it was made. She called up the same Black lady who gave me the worst treatment the second experience. She asked me if I told them the #1 or #2 numbers for the fish tacos because fish tacos are usually customized. I told her I understand that, but I told them I wanted regular fish tacos to go, meaning just the number one regular fish tacos without customizing. At this point, I was expecting her to say sorry and get them to make it right now, especially with a line of customers behind me wrapped around the entire store.
Instead, she talked to me and held up the entire line for ten minutes just telling me I needed to have told them the numbers or they don’t know. I don’t understand why that’s important after I said they fully understood and said okay, regular fish tacos, and that they will make it. I told her I don’t understand why I can’t just get it to go right now. Even people behind me were like, “Yeah, I knew they weren’t going to make it,” and that they knew it was going to be bad once she started asking what size burrito in the beginning. People were comforting me after that Black lady was scolding me about something totally irrelevant instead of trying to solve the problem.
When I tried to pay for the fish tacos upfront and just wait while it’s getting ready, which is already an annoying experience, she rudely cut me off and said, “Okay, wait on the side,” so I couldn’t even pay at that moment. So I waited. Then she goes, “Okay, the number one fish tacos,” and asks me, “Did you already pay for this?” I told her no, I haven’t, which was very ironic since she had just told me to wait on the side instead of letting me pay.
The most outrageous part is that she rang me up and again didn’t allow me to just pay and leave it at that. She kept telling me again about how I need to tell them the numbers next time. I said again that they understood and said okay and that I told them the number one regular fish tacos, then she says “You just told me you didn’t tell them that!” So she kept scolding me to the point of breakdown that I said, “Can I please just pay for this?!” because I don’t know why she thinks it’s okay to hold me there and keep lecturing a customer as it is already chaotic and try to make it seem like it was my fault.
I walked out of the store after paying for it and left my friend behind because I was very frustrated and couldn’t even dine in like I wanted to. My friend went up to get the receipt, which he couldn’t even get, because he told me the lady put her hand on his shoulder and said, “Hey, is that your friend? You need to tell her this and that about the fish tacos,” again implying that I did everything wrong. My friend defended me and said that he also backed me up while ordering, saying it was the number one tacos for to go, and that the beginning workers didn’t speak or understand English well, which is probably why they didn’t know what they were doing.
I have never had such a ridiculous experience that I am finally coming on here to leave a review.
