New Boston Restaurant Openings, December 2025 | Eater Boston

"Canadian chain Cactus Club Cafe opened its first U.S. location in Boston in early December; the 9,500-square-foot restaurant seats 333 guests and is lavishly designed, complete with murals by local artist Giovanni Decunto, and the diverse menu aims to please all, offering everything from sushi and steak to Bolognese and tacos." - Celina Colby

Welcome to your new spot for drinks, date night, girl's night, even casual get together! Atmosphere- 3 different seating area. I picked the enclosed patio area with heated lamps for an extra cozy feel. Bonus points for the throw blanket left on the chair. Lovely artwork that blended without being overwhelming. Seating and walking space was decent. Service- from hostess to wait staff everyone was great and attentive. If you're not sure what to get definitely ask your server. Our order was picked based on his recommendations! Food & drinks- We start with the Paper crane and Tropic like it's hot both delicious but the star was the red Sangria. I look forward to summer outdoor sipping with that one. For appetizers we had the calamari which was light and airy and the citrus dipping sauce was a lovely surprise. I had the house burger and fries which was juicy. The burger was cooked medium as recommend by the chef and came fully assembled with lettuce, tomato and pickles (iykyk). The truffle chicken and gnocchi dish was so good the dish was cleared in no time 😋. For dessert we had the creme brulee and it was one of the best I've ever had everything about was a 10. We left overall satisfied and enjoyed the vibe the space. I would want more curated cocktails and food options since they are based in Canada.

Absolutely loved our experience. The atmosphere was super vibrant and energetic—perfect for a fun night out. The food was amazing. We started with the ceviche, which was fresh and flavorful, and the carpaccio was incredibly tender. We also ordered the med bowl- their falafels were perfectly crispy and full of flavor. The peppercorn steak was a standout: super tender, incredibly flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Drinks were just as good. I had an Old Fashioned, which was excellent, and we also tried the Tropical cocktail, which was very fruity and refreshing. Special shout-out to our server Elise, service was truly 10/10. She was attentive, friendly, and even brought me extra cherries for my Old Fashioned because I told her I was obsessed with them 🥺 Overall, an amazing experience from start to finish. Thank you for such great food, drinks, and service—we’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful experience dining here. The restaurant is brand new, and you can immediately tell by the fresh, inviting ambiance — it’s a really nice place to spend an evening. As for the food, several dishes truly stood out: The sea bass was absolutely exquisite — perfectly cooked, flavorful, and easily the star of the night. The steak frites were really good, well-seasoned with great texture. The chicken tacos were good as well, a solid option if you’re in the mood for something lighter. We started with the spinach dip, which was incredibly creamy and comforting. And for dessert, the chocolate cake was delicious, rich without being overwhelming. Since the place is new, the service still has room to improve, but everyone was friendly and the potential is definitely there. Overall, a lovely meal with some truly memorable dishes — we’ll definitely be back!

Cactus Club Cafe's new location in Back Bay is perfect! I am so happy they have opened here in Boston. I have been to a few locations in Toronto and the food was always a hit. This new space is so beautiful. It is bright, open, modern but has a very unique design, the layout flows nicely and the I love how you can see through the window into the kitchen. The hostesses and servers were all very lovely. We went for lunch with our family of 5 including our toddler. The menu has a little bit of everything and something for everyone. Some stand out dishes we had are the garlic sticky ribs, scallop and shrimp ceviche, wagyu beef carpaccio, peppercorn ribeye, miso caramel seabass, and the london fog crème brǔlée. This new spot is perfect for lunch especially with younger kids, date night, girls night, birthdays or any celebration. I've already made another reservation for dinner with a girlfriend. Can't wait to try the entire menu!

I recently visited the new Cactus Club Cafe in Downtown Boston for a special occasion, and they absolutely hit it out of the park! Opening weekends can sometimes be hit-or-miss, but everything here—from the food and service to the ambiance—was spot on. Service A huge shoutout to our server, Shawn, who recently moved here from Vancouver (Cactus Club’s hometown!). His recommendations were excellent and really guided our meal. The concierge also made us feel incredibly welcome and acknowledged our special occasion, which was a lovely touch. Drinks We each got a drink. I had the Bellini: A bit on the sweet side, but absolutely worth it and great value. My partner got the Paper Crane—excellent flavor, featuring Suntory Toki whisky. Food - Appetizer: We started with the Szechuan Lettuce Wraps. The sweet and spicy filling was perfectly balanced by the cool, crisp lettuce. The chili sauce and spicy yogurt on the side were great for dipping. - Mains: We shared the Spaghetti Portofino and the Truffle Parmesan Chicken. Both were hearty dishes with beautiful presentation and excellent flavors. We were unfortunately too full for dessert, but I already have my eye on the London Fog Crème Brûlée for next time. I will definitely be returning for future dinners, lunches, and celebrations. I’d also consider booking them for private events. Welcome to Boston!

Amazing staff, awesome food. The waitstaff were very attentive and great conversationalist. Both continually checked in on us and made great selections on appetizers, main courses and drinks. Every appetizer, main course and drinks that were recommended/ suggested was absolutely amazing. This place is definitely a vibe. I can’t wait to come back with my coworkers, friends and family. What a wonderful addition to the city of Boston.

We decided to go for my birthday two days after the Boston location opened. Seated in bar area at a high top. Nothing but top notch taste and service! Old Fashioned and Whiskey Sour were perfect. Calamari appetizer spicy and crispy. I ordered the salmon and my spouse has creole blackened chicken. Both succulent and served with grilled baby broccoli and mashed potatoes. Dessert was homemade key lime pie and chocolate peanut butter crispy something with ice cream. Our server, Tatum, was a pro! We’ll be back:)

We visited here for drinks and apps. The frozen bellini is delicious! Add a tad more liquor in it… The truffle fries and avocado dip and chips were good. The fries has a large portion size which was good. The avocado dip- we need more avacado dip vs the amount of chips for two people. Love the vibe and the service at the bar was great!
