Google
Great hiking and outdoors store in Bar Harbor! Clearly one of the best and most comprehensive stores after looking into others. Some prices are a bit more expensive than retail, but the benefit is you have it today. Some of the brands are harder to find online. Definitely worth popping into to check out hiking shoes, tents, backpacks, lots of gear, suits, sunglasses, etc!

Amazing customer service! Got a lot of help and patience when choosing a pair of running shoes and was told that I could go for a test run in them and exchange/return them if I didn’t like them. Ended up having to get a half size larger after I ran in them, and everyone was so helpful and nice!

Google
Great selection and the prices are pretty good when compared to Amazon, so happy shopping!

Pretty big store, nice staff and easy layout to explore. Recommend for getting hiking gear if you want a good selection of clothing and equipment

Google
This is a wonderful store for the hiker and outdoors people. The selection of hiking boots and shoes are huge and you will surely be able to find a nice pair for any good adventures your seeking. The camping section is great too all sorts of stuff that you can restock up on and add to your collection. Excellent for outdoor clothes if you just need a solid sweatshirt for the chilly nights these guys have you covered. All around wonderful store and helpful staff too worth checking out!!

Google
I've shopped here a number of times and it just keeps getting better. Fantastic selection, good prices and the staff is awesome. I had a great experience with Sky this morning. She listened to what I needed and helped me find exactly what I was looking for.

Yelp
I was in excruciating pain and stopped in to look for compression socks. The cashier didn't bother to even give proper instructions and said just go to the socks section. There were 4 tall sections of socks and with that many overwhelming options there was no way someone trying to catch the ship back was going to be able to sift through each item. And at socks averaging $26, I'd have expected personalized service. Nope... When I went back I asked if there was another staff member that actually cared about customers to personally show if there were socks that could help. She gave me a blank look and after a while called for "Nate". Nate then said sorry we just have regular socks and can't really help unless you want shoes. 1 star is too good for this overpriced store.

Yelp
Bottom Line: Retailer selling hiking, backpacking, and climbing gear and clothes. Cadillac Mountain Sports is located in downtown Bar Harbor and sells high quality clothing and gear for adventures. When I visited the store in early June it was packed to the gills with merchandise. I wasn't in need of anything but I was certainly impressed with their merchandise and the many great brands they carry like Toad & Co., Prana, Smartwool and Darn Tough. The shoe and sock section was particularly impressive. I came to Bar Harbor fully prepared for my planned outdoor adventures but I think next time I might come a bit less prepared so I have a reason to do some shopping at Cadillac Mountain Sports.

Yelp
A great little shop with a variety of souvenirs. From shirts, hats, jelly, syrup, and more! I bought a few cans of clam chowder.

Yelp
Shoutout to Cadillac Mountain Sports for doing FREE engravings on the Mount Desert Island Marathon finisher medals! This was the extra touch the fantastic Crusher Claw needed as a laser inscriber put my name and finishing time on the back. Super cool little local spot in the heart of Bar Harbor, and they have all kinds of great outdoorsy things that you'll want to shop around for. Very friendly, and very much appreciated.

Yelp
We were in looking for sunglasses. They had displays up advertising one price but when we went to check out we're advised that wasn't the price and we would be charged the amount on the item vs the display. We then suggested they take the price off the display so that other shoppers were not also subject to false advertising and were basically dismissed. The person working the desk was rude and dismissive. I will never shop here again and highly suggest anyone who does confirms pricing prior to checkout.

Yelp
What an amazingly well-stocked store filled with incredibly helpful and attentive employees! Yesterday, I walked in with my hiking sandals worn smooth and my guy Andrew at Cadillac Mountain Sports was "The Man". I must have tried on a dozen pair of hiking boots. He had intense knowledge of the area and the brands sold. He could tell by looking at my feet and how I was walking which fit and which didn't. I walked out with both of us getting new hiking boots for Acadia. I know. You should break in your boots before jumping out on a 6 mile trek, but I didn't have time. Because Andrew took the time, care, and attention to make sure everything was correct, at the end of my 6 mile hike I had no blisters and my feet have never felt happier. Our dogs were also made welcome and got tasty treats from the folks at the register! There is no substitute for such superstar service, and Cadillac Mountain Sports gets it right.

Yelp
Well stocked store with a lot of high end hiking, backpacking and climbing gear. Especially large selection of shoes and boots. Prices are steep, as you would expect in a tourist town.

Yelp
For a store that "prides itself on its selection", it is somewhat frustrating that NONE of its THREE stores in town carry any extended sizes whatsoever. Needed a rain jacket or windbreaker in a womens' 1X. Not a single option. Yet they have at least 3 or 4 options in XL and probably 20+ in a L. Unhelpful older gentleman behind the register, unprompted, suggested I try the men's section when I asked whether they had anything in a women's 1X, indicating that he knows very little about how either men's or women's sizing works, and even less about tactfully responding to customer inquiries. I've tried to shop at this place numerous times over the many years I've been coming to Bar Harbor, and I regret it every time. Sad that it's easier to find gear online from other countries than in a US store in a major outdoors destination, but there it is.

Yelp
Decided to check out Cadillac Mountain Sports while I was walking around the Bar Harbor area. I was looking for a small beach chair that I could take with me when I ride my bike to the beach. It needs to be small enough to fit on the small bike rack that is just behind my seat and right above my back tire. I found one, however it was a bit above my price range. It did provide me with some ideas. There were many other outdoor type items here as well. All great stuff and would support all your outdoor needs like hiking, biking, rock climbing and boating which includes kayaking and canoeing.

Yelp
A gear store to get lost in in Bar Harbor. Has a nice mix of anything you'd need for your Acadia visit, from casual family carriage path walking, to larger expeditions.

Yelp
PURCHASED: travel-sized gas canister (for cooking) TOTAL: $15 PROS: + got particular gas: called around the island for the particular gas we had. The person that picked up the phone knew technical information of various gas canisters they carried. The others on the island were really unknowledgeable. One asked me to come into the store to see... Being from New York, I called to find out information on the phone as to not waste time. Extremely helpful CONS: - nothing: I was on vacation, nothing could be upsetting when you are on an island in mid July 2019 with weather that required a fleece. IMPRESSION: Super knowledgeable store that carry all sorts of gas canisters that you can buy to fit your particular gas needs for cooking over a fire

Yelp
Absolutely fell in love with the people who work here! We went in on a whim and walked out with trail recommendations and a trip planned to Montana!! Love them!!

Yelp
We stopped in after dinner and were blown away by this place! Such an incredible selection... it makes you crave things you don't need (!) ...or need things you didn't know you might want (?). Anyways, both the items and employees were awesome. Especially Ian! Ian was the ultimate chiller and an absolute whiz on the shoe wall! He was patient and attentive as my friend tried on one zillion pairs of hiking boots. We were blessed to be privy to his knowledge & company. Thank you for the help!!

Yelp
I came to Acadia unprepared. I had debated getting water proof hiking boots, but really loved my Hoka Ones. Day 2 of hiking in Maine and my feet were soaked. These folks really know their gear. I told them how much I loved hiking in my Hoka Ones and found me a pair of Hoka Ones that were water proof! Been to other stores before and either they wouldn't help or just didn't know if anything comparable.

Yelp
Went in on the fly looking for a coat for our teenager - needed something that is truly wind proof but not over the moon in price. We found really helpful staff- very friendly without being pushy. She quickly helped us find the jacket for her.- perfect and worked well on the boat! I talked about a coat I was looking for and she brought one over that was great, but the wrong size. Instead of pushing something else on me, she gave me the information so I could get it after I got home. Great experience- thanks!

Yelp
Went to this store several times while in Bar Harbor to pick up head lamps for night hiking, hiking shoes, books, and maps. The prices were reasonable and the staff excellent. They are patient, knowledgeable, and friendly. Every visit to the store was an enjoyable experience.

Yelp
Awesome selection of Patagonia gear and it seems that they're is more than one shop with the Cadillac Mountain brand stamped on it in Bar Harbor. I wouldn't qualify this as the tourist garb that most people are peddling in this area but instead for those seeking quality outdoor gear to put to work in Acadia or the shores of Maine.

Yelp
We came here looking to buy a rock climbing guide to Acadia National Park, but it turns out they were out of stock. Total bummer! But on the positive side, they had other items that we needed. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable. I'm just happy that we found a sporting good store that sold climbing gear as well as camping/hiking gear.
google avatar

Steve L.

Yelp
Pretty nice sporting good store. Lots of gear for outdoor sports, particularly hiking, camping, running, etc. Prices aren't anything special. The person who owns this shop also owns the Cadillac North Face, Cadillac Nike, and Cadillac Patagonia. If you happened to not pack any cold weather or rain gear, or need a good day pack, while visiting this area, never fear, you can get what you need from these places.
google avatar

DeeDee H.

Yelp
Great selection of just about every sporting gear one will need for the great outdoors here. I think everybody in my clan got some sort of footwear while we were in here last. The guy manning the shoes area was very patient with my daughter who was looking for the best Five Fingers fit. She may have tried on five different pairs, something that she would not have been able to do online, and was very pleased with her purchase.

Liberty D.

Yelp
Salesman was nice and offered to help right away. The store is a bit pricey, but that's what happens when you forget to pack good shoes

Yelp
This is one of the only good clothing stores in Bar Harbor - "It adds some legitimacy to the shopping scene," says my indicted co-conspirator. If you're looking for decent layers or outerwear that don't scream "tourist!" and treasure quality over quantity, you've come to the right place. We end up in this place at least twice on every visit to Bar Harbor.

Yelp
I was in Bar Harbor for vacation last week and went here to buy some hiking shoes. Amanda was extremely helpful and patient. She also recommended a running shoe that wasn't in stock but she gave me the info to order them when I got home. One of the best shopping experiences I've ever had.

Yelp
Honestly, this place looked awesome. We're huge fans of REI, and it's not every day you still find a local retailer with a similar selection. After an awesome trip to Acadia and the rest of MDI, we wanted to take one last stroll through town to grab some commemorative gear to remember the experience. Instead of stopping at one of the dime-a-dozen tee-shirt places in town, we went in to this place for some higher quality gear, and also to pick up a good winter hat for our 8 month son, who we realized had outgrown his infant beanies. While in the store, my son got sick, however my shirt took the brunt of his damage. My wife went to clean up the small amount that made it to the floor (nothing made it to the merchandise) still hoping to pick up a hat for the little guy, when we were told by a clerk that there was "no need, just get him out." So much for the sale. I can understand that an infant throwing up might gross someone out, presumably more so if you do not have kids, but her response to my son's misfortune was incredibly cold and rude. I can not believe that customer service of that caliber would be tolerated in today's age. I had no problem with the idea of paying $20 for a good quality winter hat that would keep my son through the winter (and support what looked like a great mom 'n'pop outdoor store), but I'll give Amazon my business instead.

Yelp
Having just driven 5+ hours from Providence to Acadia, arriving in the rain to set up our tent and discovering that we forgot the rainfly, we headed into town to find a place that sold tents. We came upon this gem which seemed to be the only place selling tents on the island! We were helped out by a friendly girl(I believe her name is Brit) who found us a perfect tent that we were looking for, as well as a whole bunch of other stuff we ended up buying. I think we visited this store every day we were on the island. Brit also recommended us to go to the Two Cats for breakfast which was a definite winner! This store sells top of the line/name brand equipment, so don't come here looking for a deal. If you're looking for quality, this is definitely the place. But, they do have a great selection of products, clothing, and just everything you could possibly need as a camper. This place literally saved our trip!
