Honestly, this place looked awesome. We're huge fans of REI, and it's not every day you still find a local retailer with a similar selection. After an awesome trip to Acadia and the rest of MDI, we wanted to take one last stroll through town to grab some commemorative gear to remember the experience. Instead of stopping at one of the dime-a-dozen tee-shirt places in town, we went in to this place for some higher quality gear, and also to pick up a good winter hat for our 8 month son, who we realized had outgrown his infant beanies. While in the store, my son got sick, however my shirt took the brunt of his damage. My wife went to clean up the small amount that made it to the floor (nothing made it to the merchandise) still hoping to pick up a hat for the little guy, when we were told by a clerk that there was "no need, just get him out." So much for the sale. I can understand that an infant throwing up might gross someone out, presumably more so if you do not have kids, but her response to my son's misfortune was incredibly cold and rude. I can not believe that customer service of that caliber would be tolerated in today's age. I had no problem with the idea of paying $20 for a good quality winter hat that would keep my son through the winter (and support what looked like a great mom 'n'pop outdoor store), but I'll give Amazon my business instead.
