D.C.’s New William Hill Sportsbook Is a Stadium Restaurant With a Michelin Star Chef - Eater DC

"The William Hill Sportsbook located inside the Capital One Arena in Chinatown, D.C., is a unique venue combining a sports betting facility with a restaurant. It features a menu curated by Chef Nicholas Stefanelli, known for his ambitious Italian restaurants in the city. The two-story, 18,000-square-foot facility includes 17 betting windows, a dozen self-serve betting kiosks, more than 100 TVs, and a mini Jumbotron. The restaurant offers a mix of snacks, sandwiches, and entrees, including potato skin 'nachos', New Orleans-style barbecue shrimp, and a raw bar with chilled Maine lobster and Alaskan king crab legs. Specialty cocktails and mocktails are also available. The venue aims to cater to a variety of patrons, from those enjoying a pregame meal to a late-night crowd." - Gabe Hiatt

About a dozen self-serve kiosks for placing bets, as well a handful of teller windows. ID check required upon entry. Typical Caesars offerings that you'd see in the App, along with a variety of parlay cards available, etc. Staff there were friendly & courteous; great interactions with both security and gaming staff. Note - some of the reviews seem a bit dated. There was no food available when we visited (November, 2024). Also, the bar is ONLY open on game/event days (can still go to place bets & TVs are still on) -- but, during times they are open, they do have some good deals! Any draft beer was $3 from 3-7pm, so a good spot for a pre-game beverage; you can literally enter the arena directly from the sportsbook.

Nice venue. They will close off part of the restaurant if you have a large group gathering. Food is good.

This place and their staff are a joke. Arrived around 330pm to find out the bar/upstairs was closed. The staff told us they would be opening at 4pm. We waited around and the upstairs didn’t open until 5!! Meanwhile that entire hour the staff was just standing there on their phones and/or sitting down. When we finally were let upstairs, their QR code for the menu was broken and didn’t work. When they finally got the menu working, the online menu was 100% different than the one on their website and a quarter of the list of options. By the time we finally ordered it was 2 hours after we had arrived. Listen to me when I tell you this, avoid this place at all costs it has a bad, bad reputation and it is even worse than most reviews let on.

I saw negative reviews but assumed that it was just the occasional bad experience, that happens. However, we walked in at 12 on a football Sunday and the bar was close, upstairs was closed, and the employees were standing around on their phones. We stood to the side trying to figure out what was up with the place and were approached by a clearly disgruntled employee telling us we couldn’t stand there because the bar was closed. We asked when or if the bar was open and he refused to answer any questions and was extremely rude. This place REALLY IS that bad. We left immediately after that interaction. Save your time and money.

The food was great - I love Guy Fieri but was afraid his restaurants would be over-hyped. The trash can Nachos were every bit as good as they look! The service here could be better though. The hostess told us they had no tables available for at least 45 min and pointed us to the bar. When we sat down I checked for reservations and there were slots open within 10 minutes of when we sat. The first bartender didn't seem to notice us but when Von showed up he took great care of us. Food took a long time - 30 minutes to come out. That's a bit much considering we ordered 2 appetizers and a salad. Other than that a decent place to grab dinner before a show at the Arena.

The bartender would rather get paid to watch sports as if he's not working. Didn't offer a menu until I asked and literally lied to me about a promo code that the Wizards promoted for me to go to the restaurant!
