It really feels like stepping back into 1842. The entrance already sets the mood, with a counter full of delicious treats and beautiful retro decorations that are amazingly well preserved. This atmosphere continues inside the café, with vintage furniture and small, interesting paintings.
Even though we waited around 20min, it was worth it. The service was friendly, and it was nice to see that they offer different brunch options.
We went for coffee and cake. While the matcha still needs a bit of practice, the coffee was delicious. The apple strudel with sauce is recommended, but keep in mind it contains alcohol. The carrot cake had good flavor, though it should be better served slightly warmer, as it was dry.
Overall, it is definitely one of the places to visit in Zurich.
