"Cafe Hoang in the West Argyle Historic District serves a lot of great dishes, but it’s their bún bò Huế that keeps us coming back here all the time. This spicy, flavorful beef noodle soup has strong notes of lemongrass and chili that help mellow out the beefy richness of the broth. The rice noodles are thick and round, and slippery, yet firm. The variety of cuts of beef and pork in the dish also adds a ton of depth. photo credit: Jack X. Li" - Team Infatuation

If you blink you could miss this place! But despite its appearance you will get amazing food! Will absolutely be going back. Very good service, everyone was so sweet and attentive! There were packaged dessert breads at the counter when I went, 3 for $5. I especially liked the taro bread. Just a good time all around. The bread rolls for the bánh mì were so good. Mine was pretty spicy which I wasn't expecting but enjoyed. I don't think there were spice ratings on the menu but I could've missed them, just be aware in case there aren't so you can ask if you have a low tolerance.

Google
Delicious authentic Vietnamese food. It's in a little mom and pop hole in the wall place but food was great. Bun bo hue had mam rouc on the side with all the veggies. The soup was delicious. We also had mi kho hai san, egg noodle with seafood with soup on the side. Bun thit nướng cha gio and com suon trung. We also got banh mi thit nướng and banh mi thit người. All were delicious!!!Kids and wife approved!!! New place to stop by if your going to Hershey Park like us!!!

Google
Little hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant with delicious food. I did read another reviewer’s post about the owners speaking in Vietnamese badly about the customers and I mean personally I didn’t hear them talking loudly or anything but it wouldn’t surprise me if that happened. The other reviewer was also correct though that after you sit, you get a menu and order (the Asian man came up to us) and then when you’re done you pay up front. You do have to stand there until they acknowledge you to even get your bill. Not sure how they do that and be that inattentive about it considering people easily could just walk out without paying lol I liked the staff and didn’t have a problem with any of them. They gave us our food pretty quickly. No complaints about this and do recommend trying it if you’re into hole in the wall type places!

Google
Really authentic vietnamese food with and amazing flavor the pho was second to no other pho I ever tasted. And the rolls were put of this world probably the best vietnamese food I've ever had. Cozy and simple looking but nonetheless great service and even better food.

Google
Food so good nothing else matters. The location is an alley that makes me nervous even during daylight hours. The parking is sketchy at best. The interior decor is something that makes you think they are punking you. I have seen dive bars that aspire to be this tragically sad. And YES the food is good enough to overcome all that still get 5 stars. The bowls are HUGE and broth might be the best in the tri-county area. The spring rolls alone are worth the trip to this 3rd world hole in the wall.

Google
I've been working my way through all the pho places in Lancaster. So far this is my top choice. The broth is fantastic- sweeter than most I've had which I loved. Prices are about the same as other spots, maybe a little cheaper. It's a family run restaurant, no frills but makes up for that with great food! My only "negative" didn't end up being really negative: they do not give you cilantro on the side plate. Just basil, sprouts, lime and jalapeños. But honestly I didn't miss it! The tables are loaded with the usual sauces but they also have fish sauce available. The meat was very flavorful and a good portion. So if you're a fan of pho and like sweeter broth, this is your kind of place. It's hidden away in the industrial part of Lancaster and hard to spot unless looking for it. 10 out of 10.

Google
Chill authentic mom and pop shop with great food and good prices. They are also open earlier than other pho restaurants in the area on weekends.

Google
The food was terrific, but I don't think I have been in such a hole in the wall for decades. The women working there were jolly and we had fun talking to them. The prices were average. The pho broth was very good-we could definitely taste the star anise.

Kelly Y.

Yelp
Can't say enough about this place, the food, the people, it's a whole thing. It's a smallish family run place attached to a pool hall in a oddly located strip mall. If you know you know and if you don't...you won't be disappointed. Big bowls of delicious pho, a pot of hot jasmine tea and some spring rolls make the perfect meal on a cold day. Be patient, be kind and just enjoy.

Yelp
I'm visiting from out of town and unexpectedly found great pho. It's located off the beaten path. A few parking spaces out front. Nothing fancy and unassuming. I got the pho and cafe Sua da. I got my food quickly. The pho was very good. I'm from northern VA where pho restaurants are a dime a dozen and I believe this place could give pho at Eden Center or anywhere in NOVA a run for its money. I highly recommend the pho here.

Cheli M.

Yelp
Exploring Lancaster, I love Vietnamese food. I was in need of some good pho in this kind of weather. Cafe & Pho Hoang did not disappoint. Delicious, fresh ingredients and very flavorful. Service was great too. Will be returning for sure. The only thing missing was the chicken options.

R B.

Yelp
This place hit the spot today. Bun Bo Hue was excellent. The inside isn't much to look at, but the food was great. They were vey nice as well. I'll stop back when I'm the area.

James C.

Yelp
It's off the beaten path on a non descriptive side street lined w gray brick warehouse. It adjacent to some sort of pool hall as well. The interior reminded me of how a few bad horror movies start. The lady running the outfit also appeared to have a stoic demeanor. Wasn't boding well. We bravely powered thru all the visual noise and ordered. 2 shrimp pork rolls, 2 fried pork rolls, 1 1 roast pork bahn mi & 1 vermicelli w pork and vegetables. Home run! Every dish spot on packed w flavor. Even the kids ate w no issues. Also in this era of missing red rooster sriracha, the place had a full bottle on every table. I've never stolen anything in my life but I came so close! I asked to buy a bottle but the lady politely laughed and refused. She did direct me to the Asian market and gave me the name of the next best knock off to buy. Chin Su. This place rocks! So good.

Yelp
I was visiting from Seattle and was lucky enough to discover this place. Hands down the best pho I've ever tasted. I came to eat here almost everyday when I was in Lancaster. The broth is nothing compared to other pho restaurants. The broth is so deep and full of flavor you can tell they used a lot of bones and spent time on it, the meat is fresh and tender. I also had the bun Bo hue which you should totally try if you can handle your spice. And definitely get a cup of coffee! I tried everything but the sea salt was my favorite! It's such a fun coffee to drink. The place can be a bit noisy at times because it's connected to another business but who cares when the food tastes this good. I had a chat with the new owners and they are super sweet. This place is under new management as of a few months ago and they are putting the bar very high for pho/Vietnamese food in the area. Now I'm sad cause I can't find a pho restaurant as good as this back in Seattle.

Amy Z.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! My friend and I ordered the pork chop with rice, fried pork banh mi, egg rolls, and spring rolls! So amazing!! Everything made fresh!

Lindsay L.

Yelp
The best Asian food restaurants are the ones that fly under the radar and are not so dressed up like this place. This place might not look all that spectacular from the inside and is not completely visible to see from the outside, but the food is slammin. You get a decent portion of pho and vermicelli when you order. The spring rolls came with a delicious peanut sauce that wasn't too spicy. I love this place. The only thing I would say is be patient and be kind as there are like 2 people working here doing everything (I believe it's a couple and they are the owners). They were cooking and delivering the food. When I was there, it wasn't busy but there were two other families that sat down. It wasn't loud. The lighting could be better if I could make a suggestion for change as it would add to the ambience to the place rather than it making it feel like I'm eating in the lobby of an insurance office. Lol But other than that, love the place. Will be returning soon!

Carrie R.

Yelp
This restaurant has wonderful food. The pho was spectacular. Rich broth. Super fresh sides to add. Nice meatballs. So tasty. The summer rolls and accompanying sauce were also excellent. I think it's the best pho I've had in Lancaster. They were doing a brisk take out business when we were there for lunch on a Sunday. The interior is a bit tired but super clean. I look forward to going back!!

Sarah N.

Yelp
The coffee was really good , and their pho is also good , enjoyed the food lots thx guys

Kyle Z.

Yelp
Super friendly, reasonable prices. Delicious food. Maybe even best pho in Lancaster city. I love the pool hall next door. I love the sweet lady who takes our orders. I love how they make you feel like family when you come in. Anyone who writes a bad review about this place is only doing so because they wanted to go somewhere nice. This place isn't nice. It is delicious. The people running it are nice, but the place is not nice. When it comes to food I'll get delicious take out from a dive over eating somewhere nice any day of the week.

Mark G.

Yelp
In my opinion, best Pho in Lancaster County! As of today they are only doing take out. Please support Cafe & Pho Hoang, because of the location and lack of Social Media many people don't know they exist. Thanks for helping local small business!

Rob Y.

Yelp
Combination restaurant and pool hall. One of the best hidden gems in Lancaster. Quality authentic cuisine at great price points. Opt for an appetizer with shrimp and you won't be disappointed. Very friendly staff.

Cheryl C.

Yelp
We absolutely love this place. The food is always fantastic. The egg rolls might be the best we've ever had (and we've tried them at a lot of places!). We ordered the Pho Dac Biet, the Com 2 Mieng Suon, and the egg rolls. We are always blown away with how good everything is. This is a must try if you haven't!

Dave L.

Yelp
I will not take off for store front. You see the pictures, it's kind of in s industrial park. No bells or whistles wasted on appearance. Food is great. Sweet Vietnamese woman runs the restaurant. I always get the pho and spring rolls in Vietnamese restaurants. Top notch here. This place is worth hunting for if in Lancaster PA.

Lam H.

Yelp
Love this place. Ordered Com DB and Bun Mang Vit. It was tasty and reasonable prices.

Eric B.

Yelp
I was delighted to discover that a new Vietnamese restaurant had opened. This place rocks! The Pork Bun was excellent, the Spring Rolls fresh and light with lovely peanut sauce, and the iced coffee was perfect. It is a little out of the way but the food is most definitely big-city caliber, no doubt about it. It is definitely on the agenda to return to soon.

Yelp
My taste buds aren't as refined as my wife's, so I will let her speak for this review. According to my wife's incredible taste buds, the Pho and subs are pretty awesome and a step up from Saigon Cafe. In fact she liked the first sub so much, that we had to order a second sub. That's all you need to know: come for the food, not for the interior design.

Hasinmd E.

Yelp
I would give this place negative stars if that were an option. I went there about a week ago and needless to say, the health department needs to come quick. I was in desperate need of some pho and I found this spot on yelp. Looked like a hidden gem. I decided to try it. The neighborhood is a little sketchy but that didn't phase me. We were greeted by an elderly gentleman that didn't speak English. I was like "this place is legit". After we ordered, that same elderly gentleman stuck his entire right hand in a crusty fish tank. Not sure if he was feeding or playing with them, but his hand was in the fish tank. My friend and I said...ok, we are going to have some problems if he touches our food. Hopeful, I said "no, he's just here hanging out". That was me being ignorant because he went directly back to the kitchen. I had a front row seat and I said..."there's no way he is going to touch our food". Well, he started making coffee, I asked my friend if his coffee had cream. He said "YEA". I clinched my teeth and told him I think he is making our drinks without washing his hands. Next thing we know, that same elderly man who stuck his entire hand in a crusty fish tank without washing his hands had three drinks in his hands. Heading straight for our table. Uhm...we jumped up so fast and jetted out the door. We went somewhere else that was delightful and clean.

Yelp
I was excited to try this place our and arrived over 1.5hrs before the closing time which is posted on both Yelp and their physical storefront. The front door was unlocked and we entered, but a lady inside informed us they had closed for the evening. What a disappointment. I have seen other reviews reporting this establishment not abiding by their own posted hours so this may be a recurring issue for this restaurant. I won't waste my time here again. Try one of the many other Vietnamese places in the area.

Pei L.

Yelp
So I decided to try Rice and noodles again because so many people seem to love it. We didn't. We disliked it so much we had to RUN to cafe Pho and Hoang. The lovely owner recognized us immediately and greeted us warmly. One bowl of Everything pho, a classic bahn mi and 2 iced Vietnamese coffee and all is right again in the world. The broth at Cafe Pho and Hoang is the bomb. You can taste the charred ginger and star anise essential to authentic Pho broth. It is a little sweeter as the owner is from Saigon. The bahn mi is perfect. Crispy crust on soft fresh baguette, ham, pate and veggies in perfect proportion. Too many times you get bahn mi over stuffed in the US and the bahn mi becomes more about the meat than the balance of meat, bread and veggies. Seems very popular among the local Vietnamese so I'll stick to eating here.

V T.

Yelp
Super strange location in what looks like an industrial back-alley. I came in broad daylight and already felt awkward, I can't imagine how patrons must feel when it's dark here. It wasn't "ghetto" or unsafe feeling, just very very seedy-looking. Restaurant as many reviewers noted, has ZERO ambiance. No music, thin stained gray office-like carpet, harsh fluorescent lighting, mismatched dining furniture. In fact when we walked in we heard old Vietnamese men very loudly shouting while playing billiards in a room next door, in what appears to be an unofficial community gathering place attached to the restaurant. *Pho: I ordered the "dac biet" with all the ingredients in it. The flavor was watery, somewhat sweet, quite pleasant, with definitely less meaty beefy flavor than competitors in Central PA. For $9, the value was just "okay". *Com Tam (broken rice): You'll get some pan-fried (not grilled) pork, small amount of steamed egg meatloaf, a few veggies, with your rice. The pork flavor falls short of competitors in the area. The fish sauce has zero spice. Sure, the price point looks low at $8, but I will say that it still seems like a small portion, and that you'll get better quantity for your buck at any Chinese take-out. Cafe & Pho Hoang is not a terrible restaurant. It's just not delicious enough to get away with looking this seedy. It is not worth a trek if you're not local. If you want good Vietnamese, I'm sticking to my good old Harrisburg, and you should too. You'll thank me later if you haven't tried.

Sok K.

Yelp
We couldn't get pass the door way to actually try the food. I saw the great review and thought that we would give it a try even thought it looked like a shady warehouse. However upon opening the door to enter the restaurant we were hit in the face by the smell of what it seems like a year old wet ashtray. This is probably because their pool hall appears to be part of the restaurant.

Heiner K.

Yelp
I was there today, Thu Sep 26, at 7:45. New hours say place is open till 8:00 pm but they closed it already around 7:40 or earlier. I came quite a way by foot only to find myself locked out. This is not how a restaurant should treat its customers! Even if there are no customers any more, one keeps open until one says one is open.

Paul P.

Yelp
How far would you drive for a good bowl of pho? Well, I live in Maryland and just decided one Sunday to take a day trip to Lancaster, PA. I knew I was going to get there just around lunch time so I researched ahead online to see the top pho restaurants there. All bets looked like it was going to be N****e K**g. So I get into Lancaster and head straight for N****e K**g. And wouldn't you know it? It's closed on Sundays! Talk about being pissed (and hungry). So I get on my mobile phone to look up pho restaurants nearby. Lo and behold Café &Pho Hoang came up. Plus it was within walking distance. This place is on a sidestreet; one of those hole-in-the-wall joints you always here of. But taking my past experience with off-the-beaten path ethnic eateries, I knew I had probably run into a winner. I walked in and it was definitely no frills. plastic table cloths; mixture of fake and real potted plants, and no waitress waiting to seat you. I loved it instantly. I found my way to a table. After looking over the menu, which was quite extensive for such a small place (a good sign indeed), a man came from the back room (which has several pool tables by the way), and took my order. I decided to order my pho from the pictures in the menu. I like spicy, so I ordered the spicy beef pho because the broth had the reddest color. I was really in for a treat. The rich, savory broth was aromatic, rich, and flavorful. I didn't even have to add any spiracha. It was plenty hot just from the red pepper and fire from the oven. The kind of spice that makes your nose start running. I wolfed that bowl down and asked for another--something I rarely, if ever do in a pho restaurant. But this was definitely worth the exception. I highly recommend this place--hands down one of the best pho restaurants I have been to in recent memory. The menu is extensive, the food is flavorful and "authenic". Don't expect however carte blanche waitress service, fancy décor, or background music. And my sense is this place doesn't attract many family diners, but more solo, couples, and students make up the clientele. I say students because of the restaurants close proximity to the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design. To get to the bathroom, you have to walk through the pool hall. This eatery is definitely no frills. But you come here for the food, not the furnishings or ambience. And if you play pool, you can even work your meal off with a few beers and a game of 8 ball in the back room. I give it 4 out of 5 stars!

Elliot L.

Yelp
Cafe & Pho Hoang is a small, hidden establishment offering Vietnamese cuisine with an adjacent pool hall where smoking is allowed. The pool hall is partitioned off from the restaurant and fortunately smoke does not leak over into the dining area. While this holds true there's the chance that you may catch a whiff of it as you're either entering or exiting the restaurant. The interior is small and plainly decorated with several tables each with trays of condiments. The place is mainly run by one woman who previously owned and ran another Vietnamese restaurant / pool hall in the area. This is my second time eating here in the first time I was here I had a chance to briefly speak with her so that's how I know that she previously ran the other establishment that she named after her daughter. The story is that rent was too high at the other location thus making her relocate. The first time here I had Bun Bo Hue, a spicy Central Vietnamese soup, complete with pork knuckle and all. My second time I ordered #17, a grilled pork chop platter with rice, fried egg, egg patty, shredded pork and skin, and salad. Both times the food was fresh, prepared well and sizeable. The first time here I sat alone in the dining room and was tended to by the matriarch herself. She greeted me with a welcoming smile, took my order, prepared it and was my server during my dining experience. My second time was differen though. I walked in to find a younger woman sitting at a table near the entrance, eating and paying attention to the screen on her phone. I didn't experience the same reception I did the time before. I didn't notice the owner/chef and wondered if this woman would also be preparing my meal. I sat and a menu was handed to me. I quickly chose what I would order when I was asked but this took longer than it should have because whatever was on that phone distracted her from noticing I was ready to order. I even went to the restroom to wash my hands and returned to my table to notice I was not even glanced at once. Eventually she came over and took my order. Water was brought out to me then she disappeared into the kitchen. A sense of relief came over me once I saw the matriarch emerge from the kitchen briefly. My dish came and I began eating. During my meal I finished my glass of water and waited a couple minutes to see if I would be noticed again to get a refill but I wasn't. I had to walk up to the counter, stand there longer than I feel I should've had to, to finally get my refill. I finished my meal and assumng I wasn't going to be noticed I approached the counter to get my check and pay my bill. I waited until the woman noticed me, I paid and left. The food is good and I will return because of that. The service of my second visit leaves much to be desired. Despite this, I did not skimp on my tip. Hopefully my next visit will replicate my first in service.

David N.

Yelp
This place is a bit off the beaten path, not seen from the main roads, but apparently, such a hidden treasure truly is worth finding. When we walked in several weeks ago, it did take the girl a few seconds to look up to see us, but once she did, she was courteous & waited on us fine throughout our visit. As others have said, don't let the plainly-appointed place nor some noise from the pool hall in the adjacent room turn you off. You are there to eat good food, & good food is what you'll get! Perhaps it is the influence of the pool hall, but the hot tea was served in a triple-shot glass, which could burn you if you hold it right after you pour the tea into the shot glass. Once we ordered, the accompanying condiments came out -- the nuoc mam (fish sauce) was unflavored & plain, so much so that in a glance, you couldn't tell the difference between it and the tea. However, it was probably purposefully unflavored so that you can mix in the various oils, hot peppers/Sriracha, etc., to suit your own taste buds. All of the food was *generously* portioned! We started w/ the banh cuon (Vietnamese crepe), which was delicious & lifted our moods straight away (we later even ordered another portion to take home!). On this evening, none of us ordered the pho, but the rice dishes & the wonton noodle soup were tasty, filling, not too salty, & just what we had hoped for when we decided to try this place! It certainly has our vote for the tastiest, most authentic Vietnamese restaurant in the Lancaster area! Compliments to the chef! Although the dinner experience started off a bit shaky, we will definitely return for the food, as it is hard to find good & authentic Vietnamese food outside of the big cities.

Jeffrey M.

Yelp
1st time visit, ordered Bun (Rice Vermicelli dish). This dish is always accompanied by a small bowl of Nuoc Cham (a seasoned fish sauce). Immediately, this sweet little bowl started crying, "I want my Umami!" The Unami it was seeking was obviously the insufficient amount of nuoc mam (Asian fish sauce) in the recipe. The recipe was way off balance, even lacking in citrus, garlic and chili peppers. Thinly shredded threads of carrots could have contributed a bit of Umami to the sauce, which was not much more than sugar water with a dash of nuoc mam. As for the bowl of Bun, it was very basic, absent of a more common array of fresh green elements. The most noticeable missing ingredient was crushed roasted peanuts that helps pull the dish together. By making these recipes more authentic would be an easy way to market the establishment as a Vietnamese cuisine eatery instead of a simulated variant. This establishment should also consider adapting something from Japan... a high standard of hygienic practices spanning from table presentation to restrooms, and likely in food handling practices. After all, Restaurants are not judged solely on food alone. The restrooms are a marker of level of comfort and quality in an establishment. Details are important!

Rebecca Y.

Yelp
Small viet restaurant but very delicious food! I love their fried egg rolls so much! The pho is so good and a lot is given. The owner and her children are all very nice!

Vy L.

Yelp
Came here based on the reviews on Yelp and was not disappointed :-). Though I was a little hesitant because ive never been to this little restaurant before. Anyway, enough about my talk, let's review the foods. They were surprisingly good and the service was decent. There were only 2-3 people in the kitchen and i could hear them talking from my table but was all good. You can ask for a side soup for your rice platter if you order one. The rice was very moist and fresh, the grilled pork was to the point, savory and also tender, the meatloaf and shredded pork were a little dry but did go along with the rest of everything else (this is why we always ordered a side soup for any rice platters). My most favorite was the coffee because it was bitter enough so when it is mixed with condensed milk it just turned out to be the best combination. A little sweet here and a little bitter there. Yeah, perfecto! Fried crispy noodle is stir-fried with veggies and of course big a$$ shrimps (excuse my language). The thick sauce was pretty sunk in the bottom so make sure you really mix your fried noodles well. After all, happy eating :-)

Sam G.

Yelp
Finally a good pho spot that gives a generous portion for your the price. $9 for the pho beef combo special. Also all the kitchen staff are old ladies so the service is a bit slow, but damn was the soup good! I am a fan and personally think it is the best pho in Lancaster.

Jessy T.

Yelp
This place is not as visible, but their Pho is so gooddd. You gotta try it sometimes!

Kristine S.

Yelp
Good little dive with great Pho. The lady who runs the place is always very kind. She knows who I am by now I stop in so often, she also knows what I typically order and asks to be sure that's what I want. Flavorful Pho, and great Vietnamese coffee. I also don't have to worry about bringing my toddler to dine in because it's a casual atmosphere and he loves the fish tank. I've never had a bad experience and I've also never seen men working there. So it's odd that the negative review is about a man. Typically the men are around but usually dining or hanging out because they are playing pool next door. I've only ever seen Vietnamese women cooking and waiting tables, namely the older lady who runs the place. Oddly, the guy who wrote that bad review wrote it a year ago. Then copied and pasted it again just three months ago. Someone has a vendetta. Weird.

Rick K.

Yelp
Wow! As much as I love Saigon cafe, this place is even better. Deco and location are not the best, but the food is of a different level. Been here three times in less than a week, still impressed and amazed. Had pho, spring rolls, all three of the bahn mi's, and a crispy noodle dish. Everything was fantastic. Worth the try!

Gayle M.

Yelp
Great pho ! The seafood soup and beef based soup are soul satisfying. We lived in Southeast Asia and know authentic Vietnamese food. Best noodle soup we have found in Lancaster. It is not fancy and off the beaten path but a tresure.

Mr S.

Yelp
I come to Lancaster for business every 4-6 weeks. I discovered this place a couple months ago and it's now my go to place for Pho. It's a very simple place (PC way of saying hole-in-the-wall). I've never been to Saigon but I bet is the type of place you'd find there. Simple and Good :)

Al M.

Yelp
So happy to find a wonderful place to get a GREAT bowl of Pho! The most gracious hosts, let us come in after hours! Delicious spot do not miss the opportunity!

Ashley B.

Yelp
Definitely better than Rice & Noodles. The only place better than this would be Van's Cafe in West Reading. You don't go for the atmosphere, you go for the food. It was clean and the bathroom was very clean too.

Nyssa R.

Yelp
This place was TASTY! The portions were huge. The food was authentic (I lived in ho chi minh for 3 months, and this had a lot of the classics). In fact, they didn't have a banh mi chay (vegetarian sandwich sometimes made with egg instead of meat), but the cook happily whipped one up just like the ones I used to get daily from a little street stand. We were more than delighted with the food. Now....bear with me guys. Okay, so the ambience is a little, um, how should we say...non-american. Like--there are flourescent lights, and it seems as though they're still in the renovation process.BUT if you're looking for tasty Vietnamese food at an excellent (read: super cheap) price, this is the place to go.

Weston L.

Yelp
Perfect Vietnamese food at a great price. Very local experience, we were the only non Vietnamese there. The Bun was the best I've had in Lanc area and my wife said the same about the pho. My children had a banh mi and it was great. Complimentary hot green tea a nice touch. If you don't care about ambience and you want the real deal, this is it.

Brandon L.

Yelp
This family-owned restaurant may be new (as of January 2016), but it hits home with very good Vietnamese cooking. Located in a nondescript part of Lancaster, the location doesn't look like a place one would open up a restaurant, but there is a sign to indicate its presence. I had the Pho Dac Biet, a rice noodle soup with eye round beef, flank, tendon, and tripe. This bowl is priced fairly for its size, containing good amounts of all the meats. Everything was cooked perfectly, and it came out piping-hot. I thought the broth was notable, having a very rich flavor that I did not see at other local establishments. Overall, yes, I am definitely coming back! The food amazed me, and stuck true to Vietnamese cuisine!

Yelp
There are a lot of pho restaurants popping up all over Lancaster, but the second I tried this place I just keep coming back here. Their broth has the most flavor out of any pho restaurants I've been to (and I think I've tried all of the pho spots in Lancaster). I have lived in many big cities with a lot of pho options. With that being said, it was hard when I first came to Lancaster because I was disappointed at many of the spots here. Now I'm happy there is one place that has never disappointed me and the portions are so big! These ladies aren't stingy here!

Yelp
This place is an absolute gem and i could not recommend it enough. I ordered the spring rolls for an appetizer and they are the most scrumptious spring rolls i ever had. And the dipping sauce it came with was also phenomenal! I ordered the Pho and my boss ordered number 27 on the menu. And both were perfect.

Yelp
This little hidden gem gets it right by staying pure. The tendons are on point!! The broth is evenly balanced with pretty good portions as well. When trying a Pho joint, gotta hit up the Pho Dac Biet. Great stuff and good pricing as well. This place is a win!!

Yelp
Best pho I've had so far. Staff was very friendly and the place is too big to have only 5 tables. Very spacious. The pricing is a bargain considering that the food is very good.

Yelp
At first this place may seem a bit sketchy, but trust me, it is a great restaurant with good food. The wait time for food is not the fastest, but manageable. The pork hoagie is must try because of how much freshness and flavor is embedded into the sub. My favorite place to get viet hoagies now.

Yelp
This might be the hardest place to write a review about. 100% depends on the person and their willingness to try a place based off of yelp reviews and not appearance. My wife probably wouldn't make into the building from the looks on the outside... then you get inside and your even more terrified to eat something because its not the cleanest or nicest place BUT if you look past that stuff you are about to embark on a PHOtastic adventure. Menu is simple, food is fantastic. I got my order to go (I was a little concerned about interior cleanliness as well) but got home and put it all together. It was fantastic and spicy and wonderful and heavenly and sexual. If you are in to Vietnamese and a little adventure in where you get your food this spot is on point! I would have given it 5 stars if it werent for the run down warehouse atmosphere that you are left eating in, but get past it. Get Pho'd up!!!

Yelp
Tried the pho dac biet, soup base was one of the worst I've had. Bland and no beef taste. It was also sweet to taste and trust me, i know my phos. Also tried the com dac biet. Dont know why the pork chop have red coloring. Pork chop also didn't have any lemongrass taste. Summer roll was okay. Service was super slow. Not many people there but took him 10min to take cone n the our order then 15 minutes to get the summer roll then another 30 mins after the summer rolls for the rice n pho. I think there is only a cook n a server working there but very slow service. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
A decent Vietnamese resraurant in Lancaster area. Located in a secluded area, however the restaurant is not hard to find. The interior is very simple and the space is very open and big. There is no music so it can get awkward at times but if you go with more people then it should be okay lol. You don't need to wait to be seated once you enter the place. The menu is very simple and has both vietnamese and english. The menu offers a decent variety of Vietnamese food such as pho, bun, hu tieu, mi, banh cuon, com, etc. They also have a decent drinks option such as smoothies and signature Viet coffee. All the basic and neccesary Viet dishes are here. The food is well seasoned and well portioned so you would not leave feeling empty or too full. We got the special rice and banh cuon. The banh cuon was chewy and soft just like how it supposes to be. The rice was well portioned with bbq pork, veggies, and egg. Everything came out hot which was a plus! They als have a billard room next door as well. This place is a hidden gem in Lancaster area for Viet food. I am a Viet girl and I am very satisfied and impressed with the quality of food this place offers. Would certainly come back for more :)
