It's worth the hype! Give it a try. We were passing through and stopped in for dinner on a weeknight. We were greeted promptly, but they were busy with phone calls for reservations and take out orders. I took this as a good sign. By the time we left, the patio was full and the dining room was filling. We were offered a high chair, but there were no kids menus. We were ok with this, though. The restaurant itself is casual with a family restaurant vibe. The staff were friendly, and we had great service. We were served bread and seasoned oil for the table upon ordering. It was warm, fresh, and delicious. The soup was good. I ordered the chicken francese. It, and the pasta served with it, was fresh and tasted great. Everything was well prepared. I'd recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

Google
I wasn't overly impressed - the flavor of the food was good, but the veal was a bit tough and the breading kept shredding off the meat while cutting. The tables were much too close together. You felt like you were eating on top of other people. The prices seemed higher than what should be the case for a neighborhood Italian joint with paper tablecloths and fairly small portions. I don't think I'd go back.

Google
We had our mom's funeral lunch there the food was spectacular, the service and staff were amazing adding special touches like special menus with a memorial to our mom. Everyone loved it. I wish I lived closer because this would be our go to place if we did. Entire staff made this day special and we all appreciated it so much. I highly recommend for any special occasion, or just an everyday meal.

Google
I wish I could rate it 10 stars!! The service was great (fast and accurate), the food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. There is only one bathroom, so plan accordingly. The food portions are large, expect to bring home leftovers. The Dean Martin sandwich was phenomenal -the spinach was the perfect addition to this sandwich, and the cheese was slightly melted. The bread was actually good, and everything tasted fresh. The home fries really taste homemade. Try the desserts! Plenty of parking in the back of the building. Great for families or date night!

When to Assisi the night before thanksgiving. We were asked at the door if we had reservations. Our answer was no. The manager said let me see what I can do. Fave minutes later we had a table for two. Great meal, amazing service. 10/10 highly recommended!

Google
I already knew I was going to write them a five star review as soon as I had their bread and oil when we were seated. Their bread was great! Warm. Fresh. Perfectly fluffy and crunchy. Plenty of parking and a big lot. Cute patio area. Good air conditioning inside. We ordered stuff that I found to be just okay after but I would come back here just for the bread and burrata together.

Google
As a party of 4 we were hoping to enjoy the food with conversation. Unfortunately the room was sooooo noisy that it was very difficult to hear ourselves trying to make conversation. Also one of the 4 is handicapped using the assistance of a walker. The parking lot for handicapped was all occupied forcing us to park in the back on an unpaved area of loose stones. It appears to me that given the # of parties at the time we were there X the hours the restaurant is opened /day there should be plenty of $$ for the parking lot to be paved. I suggest that you give consideration to your patrons especially if you consider your establishment “handicap friendly “. (This is our 3rd time coming to your establishment but will think twice before returning)

Google
WOW! This place is a gem. Everything we got was incredible. Super fresh ingredients, full of flavor and scrumptious. The staff was also super friendly and nice and had fun keeping my toddler entertained the whole time. The menu is easy to understand and the atmosphere is pleasant and clean. Highly recommend! Me, my husband, and my father each got a seafood pasta entree, calamari as an appetizer, 2 tequila drinks on the rocks, and a second round of fresh bread and the bill was $110 before the tip. Really great quality food for a perfect price.

Yelp
Food never disappoints! Great service, wish they had a little more dining space for when we go with family or friends. but we don't stop that from going, and....I take advantage of takeout!!!

Yelp
I was very disappointed that you can't get the pizza or calzone for dine in dinners. But that being said we sat outside, it was covered and very pleasant, it was quiet and we had a nice breeze. Our waitress was very inattentive and almost rude at first, she had a bunch of tables so I kinda understood until I heard her at all other tables and they way she talked to them, she was nicer later on but never asked for refills on my wine, or even how the food was. The food was okay, not outstanding just okay the bread they give was warm and delicious though. The dessert was okay, they make it look pretty but you can tell it's all premade, and they should throw in a little whipped cream. I think I'll stick to take out from here.

Yelp
I've eaten here before - it was fine. The indoors is a bit small, but had a quaint feel; it was enjoyable. Having eaten there recently, though, my sense of the place has changed completely. - The prices are too high. They attempt to offer dishes that seem 'fancy' and high-end, but ultimately, merely placing an exotic flower on every other dish and every cocktail does not an exotic experience make! - The parking is bad. An unfinished, dusty, rocky parking lot enters on the right side of the building, and apparently (as we found out the hard way) exits only on the left side. - The service was merely okay. The servers would say they're going to bring you something you requested, then completely forget it two or three times. They brought the completely wrong dish to one in our group, only to retrieve it after a couple minutes. - The food was awful. The pasta dish with red sauce was so overly salted that I could barely drink enough water the rest of the evening to be free of a substantial sense of thirst. Again, when I had the leftovers a couple days after, I noticed it even more - truly terrible. At least one other in our group said the same later; I'll check w/ the others to see about their food. It simply seems not worthy of the prices they ask (& why can't they simply pave a parking lot with the profits?) Are they trying to rely on the over-imbibing in alcohol to dull the senses (so they don't notice the un-great service and overly-salted, unspectacular food? Pretty sure I'll not be frequenting Cafe Assissi ever again. [The Commonwealth next door is usually a fantastic meal, though... It's really 'rustic', but the food is great.]

Yelp
I googled this place recently and liked their reviews. Thus, it was on my radar for lunch, after shopping at the outlets nearby. When I pulled up, I saw that they had good parking and this is always a plus. Also a nice outdoor patio covered in seasonal flowers as well as a cozy indoor area. We ordered soft drinks and calamari to start. The calamari was okay but the marina sauce that came with was exceptionally tasty. For entrees we had the Frank Sinatra wrap, eggplant rollatini and lasagna pizza. It was all rather good but the pizza was outstanding! This will be my go to spot whenever I hit the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets. The friendly staff and tasty eats here makes it well worth the trip!

Randy N.

Yelp
Looking at the on line menu you are unable to enlarge it so you can read it. We have eaten here in the past and it always great. The dinning area is small which the tables are crowded and too close to others.
google avatar

Steph W.

Yelp
We love this place. We come here when we visit our friends and take a trip to the outlets. This is our third time back. When the weather is nice there is outdoor seating. Inside is small but quaint. It has a homey feel to it. The gentleman sat us very quickly and we were greeted immediately. Water was served with warm bread and garlic oil to start, which is one of my favorite things here. My fiancé ordered the Tagliatelle con Salsiccia e Pollo. It's one of my favorite dishes, I only wish it came with more of that pasta! This time I tried the Pollo Mediterranean. The chicken and eggplant was great with the ricotta. I wish the pasta was tossed in the sauce as it was a little bland on its own but better once mixed in. I would love to try this dish with tagliatelle!

Yelp
Ordered catering for a high school graduation party for about 60. Have eaten at Cafe Asisi in the past and I was expecting better. Pick up an hour befor serving on a Saturday. We tested everything before dropping into servers with sterno to keep hot. We also had two half pans of chicken Alfredo, besides those items in the photos. Unfortunately nothing special. Sausage and peppers over cooked and the sausage was like hard bingo chips, while the peppers had over cooked to disintegration. Meatballs were large, but bland and the red sauce on all the products was nothing special, almost out of a jar. Chicken parm was drowning in sauce, big pieces, but could not tell if there was cheese on the chicken. Kids liked the Alfredo and no one touched the chicken and broccoli. Almost seemed like the food came from another kitchen and not Asisi, except the pizza. After the event we consolidated and donated the food. Truly disappointing for what I was expecting to be a great meal.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place .. but our waitress had absolutely no personality.. checked on us once .. didn't comment on the fact that my entire plate was full. I had the Penne alla Carbonara .. tasted nothing like a normal Carbonara .. she did take it off the bill once I had to say something to her ... just poor service .. and honestly the food was NOT good! I would not waste your time or money coming her ...

Yelp
This is a wonderful restaurant! We are here from out of town, and visited Cafe Assisi after a shop at the Wrentham Village Outlets. We were seated quickly on their lovely patio, which had some cool fire tables for large parties. The food was delicious, and tasted authentic. Portions were plentiful. The service was awesome! Perfect little hidden gem. :)

Steve P.

Yelp
Very good food and service. Would definitely visit again. Nice little place, off the beaten path.

Yelp
Excellent food and excellent service. The recipes they use are spot on. Great for dinner for two or even a small party.

Yelp
My new favorite restaurant. Better than any meal I ever got in the North End, by far. The warm, soft bread with garlic oil to start...delicious. The shrimp scampi was amazing, and addictive. The only thing that could have possibly made it better, would be the addition of sundried tomatoes, but it was still perfection without them. And the Limoncello cake...OMG. All of the staff was very friendly, attentive and welcoming. Our server, Vanessa, made our great experience exceptional. She's the best. It's a small restaurant, so you'll want reservations for dinner. We got there around 3pm, so we were able to be seated right away, but the place was still 3/4 full at that time. What a gem of a restaurant.

Yelp
Café Assisi is wonderful Italian restaurant that delivers authentic staples with an upscale twist. Like their Lasagna Agniello (lamb), Mushroom, Lobster or Sweet Potato Ravioli. All I have tried is very well done, a good quantity and good quality. The one exception was the Shrmp Pizza, it barely had any shrimp and they were so small they were almost difficult to find in a huge lake of white sauce; this was my disappointment. The Pappardelle con Salsiccia e Pollo. The Cannolis are delicious, as well as the Lemoncello Cake. The service was excellent, our waitress was wonderful taking care of seven of us without a hitch. We will be back for sure!!!

Peggy A.

Yelp
We love this restaurant! There is such an extensive menu of delicious Italian cuisine that it's never a problem to find something each of us likes. Sometimes it's difficult to decide as so many great choices! From the appetizers to the desserts this is Italy's finest! You don't have to go to the North End! It's all here. During good weather we enjoyed eating outside in a cozy area with heat lamps if needed. We save this place for special occasions occasions . My girlfriends and I have done lunch there for fun- quite affordable. Whatever you choose, you will be happy and full!

Deborah F.

Yelp
Fabulous food. Wonderful selections. Attentive staff. Street side Patio is a delight. Umbrellas @ heat lamps for night.

Bradyn D.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant, amazing food, for an amazing price. Cannot recommend more. Service and staff are amazing and food is finished at an amazing pace.

Chris C.

Yelp
Ordered take out recently and disappointed. Tomatoes in the Mediterranean salad were not ripe and hard. Maybe 4 balls of mozzarella. The " Assisi" Dressing was not the normal balsamic based that normally comes with the salads. I also thought that they had changed the menu and added a few more options, but I did not see those.

Yelp
Always ,Always delicious! Great Italian food . A little crowded for my liking but food and service more than make up for it .
google avatar

Julie A.

Yelp
Went with friends and very disappointed in my meal. Two of us got the lobster scampi for $32. It would have been ok if they had actually put lobster In it. Both of us who had this dish had two pieces of lobster each. The pieces were the size of a quarter each. It blows my mind that a chef would send a $32 dish out to a customer that looked like what was served and think that would be acceptable. It was insulting. When we pointed it out to our waitress she did offer us something else but at that point wasn't going to wait for a whole new dish to come out. They then brought out 3 shrimp each to put in the scampi. The price was not adjusted either. Very dissatisfying. We should have at least been offered a free desert but there did not seem to be too much concern by our waitress. The picture on your web site of this dish is deceptive advertising since our dish just looked like a bowl of pasta with cherry tomatoes.

Laura M.

Yelp
Food is always excellent. Definitely better sitting outside as the restaurant is small and you can't have any private conversations. Lots of take outs every night probably due to this. Wish they had a better location.

Kathy D.

Yelp
I would really like to give better than a three star review but having the waitress was not very pleasant. She was a younger girl with absolutely no personality ("There aren't any specials tonight so just look at the menu"). We realized immediately when she was assigned to our table that she is the same waitress who waited on us when we were there on Valentine's Day. On that day, we thought we were rushed because they were trying to seat the next group of diners on a busy night, but last week when we visited it, it was a Monday night and it was not very crowded, It was also was one of the hot nights and the AC wasn't working that well so to have an unpleasant waitress just added to our disappointment. The food was decent but it was not an enjoyable experience.

Yelp
I've heard good things about this place , so decided to give it a try. Unfortunately it's pretty overrated imo. Pricier than it should be. The food itself was average at best. Customer service was okay. Probably wouldn't return.

Mike M.

Yelp
Food and service were very good. Place is a bit small and tables are jammed together. Not very comfortable.

Yelp
Nice Italian food place. Seems authentic! We visited here after shopping at the Outlets. Surely glad we tried this place as it was highly recommended and there was a huge line and a wait!

Bruce T.

Yelp
Food here is always great regardless of what you order. And don't forget the cannolis.

Michael W.

Yelp
Have been here many times and received wonderful service. We have ordered catering, etc. Tonight the waitress was beyond rude. I ordered a gin and tonic which was served in a massive water glass. I asked for an appropriate sized cocktail glass to which she argued "just try it" many times despite me asking for a smaller glass. Overall, the waitress was rude and unfriendly. The fan above aggressively ripped the burlap into shreds into our food. we asked if it could be turned down. No apology. It was all very strange. Will never return.

Yelp
On my move down to the Boston area, my family and I went to Cafe Assisi in Wrentham. Definitely recommend a reservation because the space is relatively small. Despite the tables being close together, it doesn't feel super intrusive. As any classy Italian place should, they gave us bread and oil for the table which was much appreciated. Everyone was happy with their meals overall. For a drink, I had a lovely white sangria that was on the sweeter side. I got the lobster ravioli in a pink vodka sauce (pic 1) and it was very good. There were large lobster pieces in each ravioli and the sauce was slightly on the more acidic tomato side. My father ordered the mushroom ravioli (pic 2) which were honestly better than the lobster. The sauce was super creamy and the mushrooms were cooked perfectly. Drinks: 8/10 Food: 8.5/10 Ambiance: 7/10 Overall Experience: 8/10

Christine Edgerly E.

Yelp
Family of 4, salmon was hammered, so over cooked as well as the Chicken Marsala. The ravioli had a pound of mozzarella on them. The pork shank was good, the only meal that was worth the price. Needless to say will not be going back.
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
after hearing great things about this place, I went to try it. Had the antipasto and chicken parm. Average at best. Antipasto was skimpy, but no complaints on quality. Chicken parm was dry, and not crisp. Over cooked pasta. Mediocre. Especially for the price $$$. Cute restaurant though and very friendly staff.

Yelp
I've always loved Cafe Assisi and it has been one of our favorite restaurants in the area, but we have a new dairy allergy in the family which has made dining out less enjoyable / easy - let me just say that I've developed a whole new appreciation for cafe Assisi. Where at other restaurants the server will have to run back and forth to the kitchen 15 times to return saying "sorry that batter does contain diary, is there another dish you'd like to try?", the gentleman I spoke to at cafe Assisi was enthusiastically listing off dishes that could be made for us. Further, when my sister went to pick it up he was asking whether we wanted certain additional tweaks and was incredibly accommodating. When I tell you the shrimp fra diavolo was the most delicious thing I've eaten since the onset of the allergy, I must have said "this is so good" 15 times between bites. Considering that plus how enthusiastic and invested that gentleman was in getting us a safe and delicious meal, I am blown away yet again by cafe Assisi and I'm thrilled to be able to keep calling it a go to in this allergy era.

Dana S.

Yelp
Excellent. The food was fantastic and the service was great. I felt as though I was eating somewhere on Hanover Street in the North End. I will definitely be going back for seconds and thirds.

Patrick K.

Yelp
My wife's birthday is the day after Valentine's Day, so we tend to go out for dinner on that day. We love sitting up at the bar if there is space. The service is exceptional. I love their Seafood Fra Diavolo. There was a Filet Mignon with Shrimp special available, which I decided to try. I forgot to take a picture of my "before" plate...so all you I have is the "after". Absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend Cafe Assisi.

Laura S.

Yelp
I thought this place was amazing... Went there last night, and what a huge disappointment. Waitress did a good job, but felt rushed. Our food came out within 10 minutes (microwaved food). My friend ordered Eggplant Parm but got Chicken Parm. I got the chicken Broccoli with cream sauce. Chicken was boiled, no seasoning on it. No seasoning in that.. and to hear the microwave go off every few minutes was disheartening. Needs my flavor and to not feel rushed would've been nice....
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
I'm surprised that they have declined their tastes in some foods. Not sure if it was the chef that left the job or changed the owner. I might not return for another dinner until I see some improvements in the comments.

Ally C.

Yelp
Food was almost inedible. The bolognese was soupy with big pieces of undercooked crunchy carrot, overcooked mushy pasta and Very bland. The steak was as also so thin and chewy, over another big white soupy flavorless "risotto". Tasted like Arborio rice in milk. So disappointing. Not sure what happened to this place the last few years. Will never return.

Deb J.

Yelp
We hadn't been here in a while and were disappointed in both mine and my husband's meals. Chicken Piccata tasted like it was drenched in lemon juice - very overpowering. Chicken parm sauce tasted like tomato's out of a can, bland with no seasoning. Both meals the chicken was tough to cut and chew. Like it had been overcooked by reheating it in the microwave for too long. Food has gone downhill, we will not be back.

David L.

Yelp
The lunch menu was ridiculous value. Almost too much value. The amount of food was completely unexpected. Service was great. Servers were nice, which added to the atmosphere.

T. R.

Yelp
Walking in the door you are immediately greeted. You think you own the place. The dining is close but comfortable. The food, which is what you are there for, is unquestionably the best around. I make sure that I at least have a pizza each week from here but, the meals leave you making reservations for a quick return. Just great Italian food.
google avatar

Moira M.

Yelp
Amazing Italian food/very authentic. We live in Woonsocket, RI which is pretty much a culinary wasteland , so it's nice to have a great Italian restaurant close by. The chicken parm is a must try as is their pizza. Pretty much everything we've had here is excellent. My overly picky Italian husband gives Cafe Assisi high marks as well! He judges an Italian restaurant by their gravy . If it's too sweet, it's no good and he loves their gravy/always asks for extra on the side! The only downside to this restaurant is it's small and the bar is very tiny. Reservations are a must as it's packed pretty much all the time.
google avatar

Clare O.

Yelp
Great Italian food! Home town treasure! It's our go to when we don't want to cook! I had Alfredo and chicken cutlets it was awesome! And I had it for 3 meals.

Emily D.

Yelp
My SO's favorite Italian food place. Tables are too close together. No privacy and hard to walk through. If you are local, take out is good with an assortment of dessert options.
google avatar

Jamie L.

Yelp
After a quick trip to Wrentham outlets, my friends and I were looking for something quick to eat. We ordered three mains to share amongst four of us and we polished the dinner. Mushroom ravioli ($21) was rich and creamy, but perhaps for our palette it would be too much to eat as a stand-alone. Gnocchi bolognaise and chicken parm were tasty but the pasta/gnocchi were not al dente. Otherwise, a satisfying meal overall!

Chris B.

Yelp
Great Italian food in a smaller quaint and quiet setting. Service is amazing from the owner to the servers and busers.
google avatar

Judy C.

Yelp
This was our first time there and it was my husbands 60th birthday which I did not let them know. We ordered wine, fine. We order the calamari appetizer, not good at all, thick rings and way over done. Hubby ordered the special, chicken, shrimp and prosciutto and cheese, good but only 2 shrimp. I ordered one of their specialty meals with shrimp, good but only 3 shrimp. Mentioned to our server that the calamari was over done and all we got was a sorry. We felt very hurried by the waitstaff even though there were empty tables. Dessert was ok. We are not in any hurry to return even though we have heard rave reviews. Sorry Cafe Assisi, we won't be back.

Amanda L.

Yelp
Food is completely bland. Waitress was very rude and in a terrible mood. It was a busy night, understood, but do not take it out on your customers.
google avatar

E.T. P.

Yelp
Just a gem in Wrentham. This is an easy five star. The lunch was fabulous. Alejandro provided excellent service including wine and meal recommendations. It is not the biggest place and the ambiance is typical but the food and service are exceptional.
google avatar

Willie F.

Yelp
If you are looking for Italian food in the Wrentham Outlets area, definitely check out this small restaurant. Much higher quality than anything in the outlets and the service is excellent. The pizza is a great takeout option as well.
google avatar

Darren N.

Yelp
We wanted to get some food before we head to the airport and we were in the area. I noticed there were more people sitting outside rather than inside since it was nice outside. The host had so much energy and greeted us very warmly. We went during lunchtime so we had the lunch menu and there was a lot of variety of pastas, pizzas, sandwiches, etc. Our waitress was also very attentive! I ordered the chicken parmesan and the pasta was cooked pretty well. The crust of the chicken was very crispy and the meat inside was also really tended! The sauce however was a little runny and I got tired of it near the end of finishing my meal. My dad was deciding between a pizza or lasagna and he was delighted to hear that there was a lasagna pizza! The crust was really crispy and the cheese was melted beautifully as each bite had a fantastic cheese pull. Good authentic Italian food if you're ever in the area or looking for a new place to try!

Joseph F.

Yelp
The food is great here. I've been a number of times for dinner with others. Today I came alone for lunch. The place was crowded, but I got a table for one. I ordered soup, blackened salmon Caesar, a cannoli and an espresso.
