This Carson City Landmark Restaurant Hits the Market - Eater Vegas

"Cafe at Adele’s, a staple for business deals for 40 years in the Nevada capital, could have new owners. A Carson City landmark restaurant opts to call in quits and landed on the real estate market. Owners Charlie and Karen Abowd run the restaurant that originally opened in 1977 by Paul and Adele Abowd, The Reno Gazette Journal reports that the price tag doesn’t include the name. 'We’re not selling the name,' Charlie Abowd tells the paper. 'We’re just selling the property and the fixtures. Adele’s as a brand will retire upon sale of the property.' The couple is asking $1.2 million for the 4,490-square-foot restaurant that seats 148, including the bar and veranda. The Abowds estimate the restaurant brought in $1.8 million in gross annual sales. Before opening as Cafe at Adele’s, the site hosted a bar and antique store called The Music Box. Charlie Abowd serves a menu of Continental classics using locally grown or raised ingredients." - Susan Stapleton
