A cafe serving hashish. "There is one particular cafe in the heart of the kasbah that's drawn in foreign dignitaries, rock stars, aristocrats, and artists since it opened its doors in 1943," Tony explained. Afterward they went directly across the street to a vendor selling spanish omelets filled with potatoes, eggs, ketchup, and mayonnaise.

A really cool historic cafe with pictures of famous visitors along the walls. It’s been family-owned for generations, and the current owner is very kind. Tea is 20 dh.

Nice location, entertaining host, loads of history. The scary bit was ordering drinks, then reading reviews of people who paid ridiculous prices for basic drinks. Luckily, we were charged high, but still reasonable prices (20 Dirhams for drinks). I would recommend a visit because of its history!

Café Baba in the Medina of Tangier, Morocco, was a favorite haunt of the Rolling Stones in 1966-1967. Parts of the 2012 Jim Jarmusch movie "Only lovers left alive" were filmed here.

A piece of history, preserved in time, evoking the Tangier of the 1950s & 1960s. The walls and tables are creaky and old, with the patina of age and days gone by. Spend a little time here soaking in the atmosphere, have a coffee, the house made cookies, and maybe a smoke or two. It’s no wonder Tony Bourdain, The Rolling Stones, and visiting foreign dignitaries have visited here more than once. And what a view!

Nice café with a lot of history. Unfortunately the waiter tried to cheat me with the change. When I let him know he didn’t apologise ( as you would expect if it was a genuine mistake) but acted like he knew and it was intentional… It’s a shame that amazing places like this are let down by employees that don’t care and just seek to make a few extra dirhams out of tourists….

Legendary coffee shop in the Kasbah where the rolling stones, celebrities and the beat generation used smoke spiff. Only charged 20 MD for a coffee, so don't know were the scamming is coming from on tourists, but I asked price before I sat down. Always thinking lol great place which is old and nostalgic. Must visit

The "Revolver" (Melbourne, Australia) of cafes. Authentic Moroccan vibe, beautifully grungy. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Black coffee was very average.
