Miami, Florida’s 14 Best Breakfast Restaurants | Eater Miami

"French breakfast with a Miami twist is on the menu at Downtown’s Cafe Bastille. The relaxed atmosphere is a perfect backdrop to its ample list of eggs Benedict choices like roasted turkey with brie and smoked salmon with avocado and fried capers or the decadent cinnamon roll pancakes with cream cheese glaze, cinnamon sugar cookie crumble, and whipped butter. Of course, breakfast can be a croissant and coffee in true Parisian style. From plain to chocolate to pistachio, there is plenty to choose from." - Eater Staff

Where to Find the Best Pancakes in Miami | Eater Miami

"This all-day French cafe’s elegant red velvet pancakes are delicious on their own, but turn into a real treat with a cream cheese glaze and a crown of strawberries and whipped cream. Like things savory? Cafe Bastille also dishes out a set of flapjacks topped with two sunny side up eggs and strips of bacon to keep guests full all day. Parisian owners Estelle and Ben recommend a generous dollop of maple syrup over both." - Juliana Accioly

Google
Wonderful food and service, with Maday.. Had the Crème Brûlée Espresso Tini, Summer Bellini, Truffle Croque Madame, and the French Breakfast Burrito with ham. The manager, David, was so personable and attentive. This is a place with a wonderful vibe that you don’t want to miss out on.

Google
This was SO YUMMY. Obsessed with the atmosphere and the service was great. A bit of a wait but worth it. Bottomless mimosas weren’t watered down as the day went on so it was AWESOME. Mandy was a wonderful server!

Google
Yeni was an amazing server with a positive attitude. She gave great recommendations on the dishes we ordered and overall had an amazing vibe. The food was delicious and the drinks were so yummy too. Definitely recommend trying the iced strawberry matcha and the hot pistachio latte too🩷 the salmon burger was 10/10, the stuffed Nutella French toast was so yummy that I couldn’t put my fork down and the bacon burger was out of this world.

Google
Everything was absolutely perfect! Yeni was fabulous and everyone we talked to was very friendly. The garden was beautiful and the attention to detail is on point. Stunning. My dog was given a bowl of water and she enjoyed the shade and the fans

Google
We had a fantastic experience at Café Bastille! Our server Tomas was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome right away. We tried the NY Pistacio Croissant & the Crookie – all were absolutely delicious! We highly recommend!

Google
Alejandro was a great server! Had amazing recommendations. We got the pistachio latte, pistachio French toast, and Parisian omelette. Everything was fantastic. Restaurant has good vibes, food, and fantastic service.

Google
Maday was an amazing server! The back patio was super relaxing, and we were able to enjoy the outdoors while sipping on our drinks. The only thing I could suggest is that the mimosas were pre-made, so I couldn’t just get champagne for the bottomless. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely come back!

Google
Amazing brunch, incredible atmosphere and as you can see from the photos, the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Our waiter Alejandro was really kind, had great advice on what to get from the menu and was super efficient with our order. Thank you so much!!🙏🏼

Yelp
The food was delicious! We got the salmon omelette, Turkish eggs, and the tiramisu French toast! The cafe was busy, and there is a 20% percent tip included in the bill. The service was okay. The ambiance of the place was great, lovely decor and great presentation of the food!

Yelp
Fantastic Brunch Spot!!! :) Cafe Bastille in South Beach is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality, and our server, Kevin, was simply fantastic, charming, attentive, and just adorable. He made our experience even more delightful! The food was not only delicious but beautifully presented. I had the açai bowl and it was vibrant in color and a generous portion. The Benedict with smoked salmon was tasty and satisfying. We couldn't help but notice the other dishes at other tables, like the French toast and the avocado toast with added salmon and both looked incredible. Their Nutella crêpe with banana and strawberries looked amazing too. Cafe Bastille is a perfect spot for a lovely breakfast or brunch, and I believe they also serve lunch and dinner. Plus, it's conveniently located next to Queen Miami Beach, another fantastic restaurant.

Yelp
Interesting, the breakfast croissant was amazing especially if you love bacon, the ham eggs Benedict hold the bacon was good. Was not a fan of the blueberry pancakes very dry very mid especially the creams. The latte was nice I guess, and the choco peanut butter smoothie was good. The service was good and quick. The actual location seemed like it could use some sprucing up especially towards the back. The prices were what got me 22 dollars for three pancakes was intense I think most of the food should go down at least 4/5 dollars for it to be appropriate. Wouldn't go again.

Yelp
Bastille is the best cafe in south beach. Picturesque plates, clean, outstanding service. 10/10

Yelp
Nice little place with outside seating available if desired. Waffle was not overly sweet and crispy- just perfect, great bacon and fresh eggs. The crepe was excellent. Both Bellinis were warm and service left much to be desired unfortunately. Otherwise great spot.

Yelp
If you're staying in south beach, this is a cute brunch spot that has great breakfast food! We got seated pretty fast and our orders were taken pretty much after that. The food did take a little bit longer to come out but they were very busy so it was understandable. The french toast was the best I've had yet! Highly recommend. The omelette was also really good. I'll definitely come back here when I'm in Miami again.

Yelp
Excellent service provided by Franco. Love the location - away from Ocean Ave madness but chill Washington Ave atmosphere. Delicious food and drinks. Well versatile menu. We sat on the outdoor and enjoyed everything.

Yelp
Though this location is very spacious and well themed we were underwhelmed by the service. The food was good, decently priced and well portioned. I loved the French toast cappuccino and the pistachio croissant was both aesthetic and delicious! No complaint about the food at all. Service wise, we were seated right away, but after that waited over 15 minutes to even be offered water. No matter how hard we tried to get someone's attention we were over looked. After getting someone to take our order the service did improve and our waitress was both friendly and attentive, but many parties that were seated a good time after us did get attended first and attended almost immediately. Not sure where the disconnect was. Overall though, this is a cute cafe with good food and very fair pricing especially for the beach. I would love to come again especially to try the crème brûlée cube next time!

Yelp
Overall, solid cafe. Green shaksuka - a green shakshuka is an interesting and healthy concept that is definitely still worth trying, but I might go with a regular shakshuka next time. LOVE the Jerusalem bagel that comes w/ it though! Dulce de leche French toast - very yummy, but got full pretty quickly from this one since it's pretty sweet. Iced strawberry matcha latte - nicely made and taste matcha. The matcha powder was smoothly mixed in, and the strawberries tasted fresh, not sour. Average service - there's a queue, but still got seated pretty quickly, but it took a while to get our food. Workers seemed nice though.

Yelp
This is my new favorite brunch spot! The service was excellent! We ate after seeing the sunrise so it was still cool enough to eat outside. I imagine in the summer you will want to eat inside though. The croissant sandwich was so fresh full of flavor and and the French toast coffee with the little French toast on the side was the perfect pairing. I also love how they went all out on the daisy theme - even the bathroom has daisy tiles! As a bonus, I happened to have daisy nails that day! If you are in a hurry, they also have a take out window:

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant. Quick service. It was raining and I watched servers come with uncovered pastries from next door...a bit unsettling. Ordered a pistachio croissant and strawberry matcha. Decent but wouldn't come back for it.
google avatar

Jet C.

Yelp
A great brunch spot in the middle of a busy area. Their menu is exciting and well crafted and their drinks are equally gorgeous and delicious. It's almost a bed and breakfast (with the hotel area in the same area) and have options for indoor or outdoor seating, plus it's great for groups. There's really no wrong choice but if you're unsure what to get, the service was great and had amazing recommendations.

Yelp
MAGNIFICENT!!! WOW WOW WOW! The service, the patio atmosphere, the manager checking on us DAVID, and most importantly our server CHRIS!!! Thank you for exceeding my expectations (I'm not easy!) and everything was red carpet treatment. Call me Elizabeth Taylor! I have expectations everywhere I go. At first I was hesitant because inside was crowded and I get "anxiety" so quick. The host immediately offered me the outside patio and it was heaven on earth. I'm in love with this place in Miami Beach (I live in Brickell and I'm a local). If you are looking for a place to give you royal treatment... well this is the place!!! THANK YOU BASTILLE!!! This is impressive and whoever is the owner I am proud of you because all of this is a reflection of you. I will definitely be back even if I don't come to Miami Beach often. With love and respect - Grisel and Fran from Brickell Miami

Yelp
The food here was amazing! Such a great variety on the menu as well. They have bottomless for brunch as well. They have both outdoor and indoor seating with a cute atmosphere overall. Would love to come back again to try more on the menu!

Yelp
Extremely disappointed. Ordered two things: breakfast croissant, the classic french toast. The good: the spicy mayo sauce they use on the breakfast croissant was the only good thing that came out of this breakfast. They do staple the bag so it's secure upon delivery. The bad: for starters, they forgot to include syrup with the French toast, instead they included a thick white buttery sauce with zero flavor, if I'm going to consume all those calories I want to taste it! The breakfast croissant seems like it was coated with sugar on the outside of the croissant, making the croissant way too sweet. The only thing that saved this meal was the spicy mayo sauce. Their menu is very limited regarding decent breakfast and brunch options. Over $50 down the drain. Overall a huge disappointment, wouldn't recommend at all.

Yelp
My friends and I really enjoyed our experience. The food, drinks and service were pretty good. I had the breakfast burrito in a crepe and it was great the only thing is I wish it had more filling (eggs and sausage). The chai latte was good but on the sweeter side. The restaurant is really cute and it gets busy espcially on the inside since sitting outside is really hot this time of the year. I recommend going early to get a table inside. Aside from the restaurant they have a to go area next door where you can pick up baked goods and coffee. Will def be back to pick up some of their amazing stuffed croissants next time :)
google avatar

Lawrence S.

Yelp
From start to end, Alex was a pleasure to have as my server. Polite, attentive, and personable. Ordered the collagen latte, delicioso! The Nutella croissant was on the sweeter side while the pistachio croissant was just right. Thanks Alex.

Yelp
We were able to be seated shortly on a Satuday for brunch. The food was delicious and flavorful, and we enjoyed our beverages. We had to get one of their fresh croissants from the French bakery to go. I enjoyed the greenery around the outdoor seating area. I think about this restaurant often and can't wait to come back or their other locations!

Yelp
So incredibly phenomenal breakfast. I can't believe it's only 3 months into the year and there are spots like this that I know I will think about all year. Our waiter was above and beyond. So kind and attentive. Provided honest and amazing recommendations. The restaurant wasn't too loud but the tables were a little close together and the floor was very slippery . I think it was new epoxy? essentially do not wear heels. There was indoor and outdoor seating which was nice. The food was incredible. I started with. Vanilla mocha which I was unsure about but it came out so so so so good. I'm not sure how to describe it but it takes like a mocha. We shared the tiramisu French toast and the green shakshuka which were amazing. My friend thought the French toast was too sweet but I loved it. They brought us extra bread for a little extra fee (I think $4-5?). The green shakshuka tasted like a green salsa (if you like that). I was full to the max and i couldn't stop eating. Loved it!

Yelp
Very nice cafe! The Nutella French toast is incredible. Banana stuffed inside. I sat outside but the inside is very nice. The server I was very nice and was looking to assist in any way possible. The menu has something for everyone. If in Miami Beach you need to stop by here for breakfast/brunch.

Yelp
We came here twice it was so good. The Turkish eggs were so freakin good. I thought it was odd having eggs on yogurt but it did not disappoint. The French toast cappachinl was bomb too. Not to sweet. First time service was great but the 2nd time our server was a bit of a jerk.

Stephanie D.

Yelp
Loved this cafe. The strawberry matcha latte is light and refreshing. Pistachio NY croissant was beautiful and tasted really good!

Chris S.

Yelp
Interesting place. Food was quite good. Service was quick and setting was really like a cafe in Paris. Staff is short and to the point, like many places in Paris, that don't really care to be overly friendly. Third time there and this is consistent. The muscular fellow with tattoos is the exception. The fellows who run the cafe are always well dressed but have no time for nonsense, sort of like James Bond villains. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Jewels G.

Yelp
Delicious baked goods & breakfast. Service is fast & friendly. Indoor & outdoor seating too.

Yelp
So happy Cafe Bastille has finally opened in South Beach. Café Bastille is a favorite of mine ever since I tried their Ft. Lauderdale location. Everyone was so nice and they are dog friendly which is great. Cute outdoor seating and the coffee is always great. I tried the Ben's Favorite Omelette and it was the perfect amount of food. My boyfriends Benedict was also quite good. I feel like you can't go wrong with anything you order here. Definitely will be adding this to my brunch rotation.

Cece W.

Yelp
The food was out of this world, especially the potatoes. My husband had omelete and it was the best he has had in a long time. Ale was our server and he was great
google avatar

Yelp
Good food, good tea! Very nice service. Just the additional tips don't make sense...and loud music.. Otherwise, cool vibes!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a must go to for my wife and I when we come do our little 3 -4 day get away in south beach. The breakfast sandwich with the bacon jam is my sh!t.

Alex M.

Yelp
Service was good and staff were very nice. Food was just okay. To be fair I only had the egg omelette, potatoes and toast. But for the price it was lacking. The potatoes were dry and over fried. The cappuccino came only standard with one shot so it was flavored milk. I don't regret eating there but I definitely wouldn't return. I could have had a similar breakfast at my hotel. 2.5 stars but had to select 3

Yelp
So grateful for finding this gem!!!! It was so delicious!!!! Everything we ordered was perfection!! The presentation, portions and quality of the flavors were out of this world! Truly an experience. The restaurant was French themed and they nailed the menu and meals! We absolutely loved everything we ordered the Steak and Egg bowl was fresh, meat and eggs cooked perfectly, the Frank's Famous Hash was cooked in this incredible sauce that made us almost lick our plate clean. The service was great and the Manager kept checking on us. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the decor is quaint and the staff was hustling, I was so impressed with how hard they were working. They were very helpful in recommendations and we learned the restaurant was new! We couldn't tell the staff had the food and service down! The coffee was probably some of the best I have tasted which was a plus! We went next door to their bakery to wait for our table (short 20 minute wait). We got several croissants for after which were incredible!! So impressed with the flavors! Also, to end this great experience my 12 year old daughter left her purse there full of money, debit cards, and gift cards and the staff had found it and held onto it until we realized about an hour later we had left it. We were so happy and had so much gratitude to the staff for keeping it safe for us. Thank you! We found our new favorite South Beach Brunch spot!

Joseph J.

Yelp
My wife and I visited this place early morning on 02/13/25. We sat in a seat for about 15 minutes without anyone coming over to even give us water. They did eventually bring the water but then we waited another 10 minutes and just left. I can't speak to the food because we never got any. We were in a hurry to catch a cruise so could not wait so we moved on to the restaurant adjacent to them. Don't go in a hurry.

Ilya M.

Yelp
Incredible food, fantastic service!! I got the Shakshuka - great sauce, flavors, very filling! And Felicitas provided terrific service - friendly, attentive. Will be back!!
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
What an amazing breakfast! Iced French toast cappuccino and the most delicious salmon avocado toast! Our waitress, Maday, was super friendly and helpful. Amazing spot!
google avatar

Allen N.

Yelp
Such polite ppl.. i was craving a shakshuka and j ordered the green instead of my usual red. I didnt like it as much and they completely switched it with no questions asked.. lets just say when the red one came, i was in heaven. Perfectly executed. Really cute spot and great staff, definitely recommend.

Lenny S.

Yelp
Really interesting and delicious flavor for the chicken Milanese Benedict. It was very good and the customer service was top notch. There was a small issue with my order that they remedied quickly. Would go again.

Ian W.

Yelp
Food was good but service was not. Staff not friendly at all. Waited a long time for food and drinks, staff didn't want to engage or interact at all which made us feel not welcome. They were friendly and laughing with other staff members though...shame because the food was good.

Barrie M.

Yelp
What more could you want in South Beach?? Fabulous way to start your morning with super delicious, fresh food. SHOUT OUT TO THE SERVERS - they work incredibly hard to make you feel welcomed, not rushed, and focus on how they can help you absolutely love your experience. SHOUT OUT TO THE KITCHEN - so good I brought two groups of friends during my short stay in Miami Beach in January. INTERESTING MENU MASH-UP - Tel Aviv meets Paris - loved it!!!

Am C.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast the Mediterranean omelet was delicious . Cute place and service by Maday was great!

nancy A.

Yelp
Alejandro and the host were very polite. The food was amazing. The wait was not long.

Benjamin L.

Yelp
Food was great but service was slow and underwhelming, had to follow up on items missed from our order, a repeat round of drinks took at least 10 minutes and had to ask twice for a refill of water. Go for the food but don't expect fast or friendly service.

Valerie S.

Yelp
Fantastic food, pastries and coffee. Great vibe and service. We both ate in and did take out. ( Take out is the door to the right of the main entrance.). Loved it and went several times.

Tess L.

Yelp
we saw the ratings on this, the place was buzzing so we thought we'd get have a great breakfast experience. Food was subpar. Took a long time to come out and wasn't what we would hope. Wouldn't come back. Seever was a sweetheart though.
google avatar

Hernan T.

Yelp
It was a decent experience but is not worth it if you are a Miami local and can find better options. It may sound petty, but personally , I don't like when I order a cappuccino and I get a latte, and then they try to tell me that is a cappuccino because it has powdered chocolate on top. Definitely not going back.

Petter G.

Yelp
Terrible food , terrible attention, terrible service and terrible ambiance I would never recommend this place they made me wait and my group of friends for a long time and our food were cold not a good ambiance at all we came from California to visit and this restaurant did not gave hs a good service

Taylor D.

Yelp
The food was great but Thomas, my server was even better! He made my dining experience one I could not forget, I definitely will be returning!

My B.

Yelp
The decor here was super cute! However, the attitude and service from what looked like the manager can use some adjustments. He appeared to be annoyed by me just ordering 2 drinks, like I interrupted his day. I got the caramel latte and strawberry matcha latte and both were subpar. They didn't even fill our drinks to the top (I did not make any ice adjustments). Disappointing. Do not recommend if you're looking for good quality coffee and service.

Keisha C.

Yelp
Great food little wait but there's a cart out front here you can purchase alcohol while you wait

Chloe S.

Yelp
Food was amazing, I had the Nutella French toast and scrambled eggs. Maday was our server and was very kind and involved, service was great. There is a very nice aesthetic about the restaurant and the ambiance is calming and very instagram worthy.

Merve T.

Yelp
I love the design. It has really nice atmosphere service was fast and the staff was very kind. The israelli breakfast and shakshuka were the best choice ever. Definitely recommend! The only thing is chai latte was sweet. And the onions on the shakshuka were chopped big. Our server, keep it up Madai!
