I was lured by the high star ratings. I'm always up for trying someplace new to me but are 'neighborhood classics' especially if escargot is on the menu. The place is vintage and seems to have been there for a very long time and I'm genuinely glad they survived the pandemic. Many of my food adventures end up at these pandemic survivors. I order everything I want and tip well as a sort of silent nod of victory to the places. Service was very good, 5 stars. Our waiter was friendly and attentive but not intrusive. In my experience, only higher end places ($$$$) will pack food for you when you want to take it home. Our server graciously did the honors. For anyone reading this that manges or works in food service and you want to level up on customer service, do this. Another plus to my experience was the crayons at the table. I know they're meant for kids but come on. Who doesn't enjoy drawing while waiting? My (19 y/o) kid and I enjoyed a few rounds of the doodle game while we waited for our food to arrive. The vibe was definitely older adults/seniors at least in their 60s. I could see how this place may have been a dining staple for long-time residents for the past 40 years. They all seemed to be drinking and knew what they wanted. I don't drink so I can't say anything about the wine selection. This is the dreaded part of my review because I like to open with celebrating the wins. I came especially because I had a craving for escargot. It was my birthday and I'm worth it. ( ◜‿◝ )♡ I know there are supply and quality issues globally and that they have affected all restaurants so I offer this review with the utmost understanding that some things are out of business' control. The escargot were not quite as robust in size or flavor than I'm used to. You bet I gobbled them up and sopped up every drop of garlic butter with the bread which honestly was just like a baguette I could've gotten from a wicker basket at a Ralphs deli section. Nonetheless the bread was a vehicle for the garlic butter. For dinner I ordered the lamb cooked medium. It came to me medium well but I didn't complain because I was so hungry and the texture was totally fine. The au gratin potatoes were very good. Four thick slices of zucchini and another 4 slicces of carrots gave the plate some color. They were cooked to the appropriate tenderness. They carried their own natural flavor but nothing else. The lamb, although a tad over cooked, was nice and tender. The sauce was wonderfully creamy but like the lamb it lacked a distinctive flavor. An herb, any herb, would have given it some interest. My kid had the special pork filet with mustard sauce. They liked it very much and offered me a taste. Potatoes and veggies were exactly the same as mine so win on the au gratin again. My kid hates zucchini but I can't help that. The pork was much firmer in comparison with the lamb which was a little surprising. I'm guessing it was cooked faster to get it in front of us sooner. The mustard sauce was nice but not as robust in flavor as it appeared. Of course we had dessert. My kid ordered the bread pudding which looked delicious but tasted as if the bread was the exact same Ralphs baguette in the bread basket. I wouldn't say it was bad, it was just ok. I ordered the apple crumble. The cobbler topping was perfect. Unfortunately it was baked atop what tasted like run-of-the-mill applesauce. Lastly I ordered a double espresso. It should have been at least 2-2.5 oz. What I got was a single espresso with the price of a double. Yeah I let it slide and I shouldn't have. It was my birthday and I didn't want to get confrontational and taint the joy I was feeling for just being alive. It was an overall pleasant first time experience but I won't be going out of my way to revisit. I do hope the regulars keep coming enough to keep the place afloat.

Very sad to hear that Cafe Beaujolais will be closing at the end of the month. It is one of mine and my husband's all time favorites. Best prepared duck my husband ever had. Thank you for setting high standards all these years. 🫶

I am a huge fan of French Bistros in general so was happy to find this one in Eagle Rock. A casual bistro with great service and food honestly always sounds good to me. Parking is easy as there is tons of neighborhood and street parking available, the menu has a good selection of items and our server was very polite. I started off the meal with a personal favorite of mine, French Onion soup, and it really hit the spot on a cold December night. I usually like a darker roux, almost brown, whereas this is a lighter broth but still a very nice taste to it. Followed up with the flamed filet mignon with Roquefort and it was delicious. It was cooked very well and the cheese was a new change for me with steak, but was an easy sell to me since I love cheese. A really all around delightful meal. I would recommend to anyone especially if you're a fan of bistros. That being said I would not suggest for a birthday or anniversary meal just because of the more casual nature of the place. I will be back again in the future it was a very nice experience.

Very good food in an unsuspecting area. The general atmosphere is fair and detracts from the overall experience this 4 stars. Enjoyed the strip steak with peppercorn sauce. Was cooked as ordered and served hot. Would eat here again.

Google
Intimate and cozy experience. My husband and I came here to celebrate. 2 of us had a wonderful experience for $70 including tip. The ambiance is low lighting with a cool french vibe. The fish was semi-fresh, but not the freshest. The vegetables were well seasoned and cooked. All in all, we had a lovely experience.

I took my husband here for our anniversary and it was GREAT! The Food was cooked perfectly, the staff was very, very attentative. Our glasses were half full, and they would fill it up, our bread basket was half full, and they'd quickly fill it up. I have no complaints about this place at all. From outside, it doesn't look like much. It's a big black door connected to a small front entrance, as soon as you open the door, a French Man, greets you. You are taken into another dimension. You think you're in America, and within a few short steps, you travel to France for an experience you will never forget. All the waiters speak French, and English of course, it feels so unreal and like a dream. It's a little pricey, totally worth every penny though. Update: This was my husband's and I's FAVORITE place to eat when we saved up for it. We just recently returned, and it was a completely different place from the original. They must've changed ownership. Food was bland, not cooked well, service was not enjoyable. Definitely not worth the big price tag unfortunately 😕

This is the first time we try Cafe Beauolais after leaving in Eagle Rock and Glendale for more than 10 years. The services was very good, not very crowded on Wednesday. The food was excellent. Special mention to the Halibut dish. Perfect mashed potatoes that was light, the orange touch of the crusted fish was delicate complimenting the perfectly cook fish. We are planning to come back to try other dishes.

Wonderful service and the servers are super nice, also the desert was tasty. WE WERE ABLE TO DRAW ON THE TABLE FOR MY FRIEND'S BIRTHDAY ^-^

Yelp
Everything fabulous. Alas, the restaurant went out of business. Now I need a new French restaurant, if there's one near Eagle Rock.

Franklin M.

Yelp
We finally took the time to go eat an early dinner before they shut their doors forever. The chef is retiring and I guess no one is going to take over and continue this French legacy.

Kunous K.

Yelp
A bit disappointed... The 4.5 stars on yelp is a bit overrated... It's really a cafe, very casual, old house at the ally type... Although the appearance isn't really my concern... Food wise, bread was cold, escargot was good. Steak was overcooked to by preference, the halibut was mussy... There was only one server in the dining room, although there were only 3 tables of customers... Oh, the restroom is poorly maintained, thats a strip of star... It could be a 2-star review if not the server did his best to make up the bad food experience....

James W.

Yelp
The last patronage of a once beloved French bistro was bittersweet and departed hungry. I was initially disappointed with some of the changes to the front of the house some years ago to witness some of the declining quality and inconsistencies of the menu. My visits became less frequent as post-pandemic pricing became uncomfortably expensive. Holding onto a beloved thought for nostalgia, a final visit was riddled with extremely slow kitchen service, and a wait staff that offered nothing more to alleviate the situation other than an apology. The air was hot in the dining room and when our entrees were served, one of us was required to wait even further as our steaks grew cold. Changing times ....

Yelp
This place is amazing! Authentic French. Small yet intimate, with delicious food. Crafted so personally by the chef. Highly recommended. Good wine pairings and selection too!

Mrs. T.

Yelp
The parking was easy! the food was absolutely spectacular but it should be noted that the three of our entrees came out five to ten minutes apart. The salads came out after our friends steak was almost finished ( and that's taking into account the time it took to be thrown back into the pan to warm it up). Our server was friendly and attentive. The restaurant floor, curtains, windows need a good scrubbing . the A/c was out, so we opened the window by our table . the matted cobwebs were a little off putting. Two of our group had french onion soup and declared it the best they'd ever eaten!

Yelp
Didn't plan on heading out to this part of town but was looking for something different. Usually I'm out this way for some Casa Bianca pizza. This place is so cute and rustic. Our server told us that they are having a reopening special as they were closed for the summer so we came on the perfect day. We were treated to a complimentary Caesar salad. They also brought out freshly made bread from the bakery next door. It smelled so good. Everything here is so fresh and made to order. I had been craving pasta all week and ordered the spinach and mushroom which happens to also be vegan. The flavors were so light but the garlic oil pulled it all together. Of course I had to get dessert. The apple crumble caught my tastebuds, and the bonus was that it came out fresh and hot with a side of their homemade caramel ice cream. It was gooey and buttery with a caramelized coffee taste throughout. So decadent and divine. They have a simple menu but has something for everyone with an extensive wine and drink list as well. The service was exceptional. The staff was polite, attentive, and informative. Great place for a cozy meeting with friends, a date, or yourself. Parking: plenty on the street and around the neighborhood Price: not as pricey as I was expecting. Appetizers ranged from $16-$25 and entrees from $27-$45. Service: excellent! Vegetarian/vegan options: yes both appetizers and entree.

Yelp
Great food. Been to France and even Michelin starred restaurants like Melisse and this place delivers. My wife and I split the beef bourguignon as an appetizer while she has the halibut and I had the pork chop as an entree. All of them were very good. The desserts did not disappoint. The crème brûlée and the Apple Tatine with homemade ice cream was stellar. Even though they were out of the charcuterie and duck...and their espresso machine was broken...the quality of the food and the service all made up for it. Will be going back again!

Yelp
So I have not been here since 2001 and I came back this past weekend and I was pleasantly surprised that the same Chef remains . The food is g reat and the wines are decent. It's a neighborhood bistro that's better than average. The filet mignon with Roquefort was a good balance of salt, sugar(came from the port reduction) and creaminess. The French onion soup was fabulous. The only bottle of beaujolais wine was 65$ . The endive salad had a really good dressing. The parking and decor is my only need about this place otherwise it's a great neighborhood bistro. Try it. Bon appetit.

Yelp
Great food, Great ambiance and a wonderful staff. One of my favorite places to go in LA. Thank you fro always a great experience.

Margaret P.

Yelp
I came by here for an early Valentine's Day dinner with my husband. Coming here feels like you've been taken to a place in France. This local mom and pop shop has a cute piano in the restaurant too. I heard that on certain weekend nights, they have a piano player here, making for an even more romantic experience. We ordered the crusted fish and the duck. I personally LOVED the fish, it was so flakey and delicious. The vegetables were also so delicious. I think it was made ratatouille style, which is basically stewed in tomato sauce. The duck was not my fave duck dish I've had before, but it was still pretty good. I think the sauce was a little too sweet for me, but I think it might've been a personal thing too. Overall a great date night spot in Eagle Rock.

Yelp
Cafe Beaujolais is the best French restaurant on my list, for sometime they were closed due to covid, and I am happy to learn that they have finally reopened after temporary shut down for more than a year. This restaurant got to be the most underrated restaurant in LA, I have been here many times over past 15+ years for different celebration or just because, they never disappoint me. These are their specialties: Escargots De Bourgogne -their escargots are phenomenonal, seasoned just right, very juicy and tasty, soaked in olive oil, goes well with the bread too! French Onion Soup -this has to be the best French onion soup in the whole wide world. Served on a super hot bowl, with chewy cheese on top, the onion soup was truely out of this world. Filet Mignon -the beef were cooked to perfection, medium rare, this cut was super tender, soft and thick. Paired with mash potato, very buttery! Duck Breast -love the way how they prepared the duck, as flavorful as red meat, this delicious protein has the best balance distribution between fat and meat. No, and It doesn't taste like chicken, it tasted like duck! This restaurant is 5 out of 5 in my book! https://www.instagram.com/p/CYsZBwylV3K/?utm_medium=copy_link

Yelp
I split the onion soup, sirloin steak, escargot, and crème brûlée with two friends. The onion soup was the highlight for me. The sirloin steak was a bit tough but the fries were good. I'd never had escargot before and it tasted good but I personally just don't like the texture. The crème brûlée was good but I wish it was a bit smoother. The service was great and they give you crayons so you can draw on the paper on the table that acts as a table cloth.

LadyAnne D.

Yelp
Food is delicious and servers are friendly, but the wait was a bit long to take our order, and then receive our drinks and food. It wasn't terribly busy but I think they were hnderstaffed or just backed up in the kitchen. Would come again though!

Bryan B.

Yelp
Place is a little dingy, needs some tlc. Food was pretty good but price is a little high for what you get. Also, the restaurant was mostly empty but it took an hour to get our meals and when we did the steak we ordered rate was more like medium well.

VANAN Y.

Yelp
Beyond frustrating that while the restaurant is apparently "closed for the summer" based on a printed sign taped to their front door, the online link for YELP reservations is active and taking reservations. We booked a table for 5 for Friday, Sept. 1st which was confirmed through Yelp. Wasn't until we arrived that we figured out that the restaurant was closed until late September. There was no indication on the restaurant page or the yelp reservation page to indicate the closure. In fact, we received several text reminders confirming the reservation. The reservation was for a birthday celebration, leaving us in the lurch to coordinate last minute plans. Considering how much we love this spot, it was disappointing to say the least.

Sammi Q.

Yelp
Wow, not good. Atmosphere dark and worn out. Not much to like unless you are 75 and looking for yesterday. I suspect management has gotten tired of management. Sirloin steak was thin, tasteless and tough. I understand a value cut, but this is not a sellable item. Our party of 5 would like our $250 back. The other reviews posted for this restaurant must be staged. There is no way any reasonable review can be greater than 3 stars.

Delmy W.

Yelp
Great food, excellent and courteous service. Warm & relaxed ambiance. I'll return to this quaint place I discovered in Eagle Rock.

Juan F.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night to celebrate my birthday. We had early reservations so it wasn't a huge shock to see the restaurant had about three tables with customers. Not full at all, no wait either. Service was very nice, bread came to the table immediately and we were informed of the day's special. We started with the charcuterie which included some delicious pate. We didn't realize the cheese portion was a separate order. At this point, no need for it as the pate really was a nice surprise. We should have shown up a little later, as we were finishing our meal an accordion player showed up for some live music. We decided to skip dessert and head over to grab some ice cream at Wanderlust Creamery. Again, the service was great and we felt well taken care of.

Tanya C.

Yelp
I love the place I highly recommend this place. It's amazing the food is really really really good the customer service. It was so good love it. I wish a lot of people will experience the same experience I had it was really good. Thank you. Cafe Beaujolais

Yelp
Goodbye Cafe Beaujolais. An old favorite has gone very much to seed. Like visiting a long loved friend for the last time in the hospital, on some level you wish you hadn't gone, so you could always remember them as they had been in better days, When we moved to the Eaglerock area 14 years ago, our realtor took us to this "sweet french place nearby" to celebrate our finally closing the deal and moving into our new and now current home. During dinner she said "isn't this place great!? A hidden gem" We didn't have the heart to tell her that she wasn't turning us onto her secret restaurant. She was taking us to a place we already knew and loved, it's existence being one of the reasons we wanted to move to the neighborhood. Over the years we have come back several times. The cozy space and the lovely quiet ambiance has always made for a memorable evening. The food was always good, solid old school french standards; escargots, onion soup, steak au poivre... Never exceptional, but always solid. Last week four of us went back to Cafe B to celebrate a birthday. Sadly everything, I mean everything, we ordered was of sub par quality, as well as being quite overpriced. (I know inflation, but still). We ordered escargot (surprisingly bland) an endive salad with roquefort cheese featured as an ingredient (cheese was so scant as to be almost an omission, we had to ask for more) three steaks for entrees; one rare, two medium rare, all were over cooked. Pretty sad, especially at $ 40.00 apiece, also a $51.00 of very mediocre red wine. Dessert, which was pretty much the highlight of the meal, was also relatively mediocre, the creme brûlée ( a solid 3 out of 5, compared to the many 4's and 5's served at a lot of other local restaurants) an apple crumble with housemade ice cream, I'll give it a 4 to be nice, and a very mediocre chocolate mousse (2-3) Over all it was an absolutely lack luster meal. At $ 300.00 for dinner for (4) it was unfortunately very much not worth it. It hurts to say this, but good bye old friend, Turns out that last week was to be our last meal together. I'll do my best to forget all of that night's disappointments and try to think only of the much better times we have had together in the past. Unless there are some very radical changes planned for Cafe B in the near future, I cannot imagine it will be open much longer. Too bad. I know that many of us have very fond memories of Cafe B when it was what it once was. Anyone have a suggestion of an alternative for us to try. PS the service was fine, our waiter was great. Near the end he apologized to us, as he could tell, without any comment from us, that we were very much underwhelmed. PPS I'm sorry to those of you at Cafe B that this review may effect negatively. I mean no harm, but my review is honest and I have a feeling that you know that it is. You can turn this around, but you have bring the love back to the food, you can taste it's no longer there.

Yelp
Great place for French food in Eagle Rock on weekends go to the Fable bar before or after dinner

Spencer C.

Yelp
A delicious and decadent meal is what you're gonna get at Cafe Beaujolais. It's a great French spot. The food was excellent, and we asked the waiter for a wine pairing to go with our meal and he at least seemed to know what he was talking about--I don't know much about wine but I enjoyed what he selected. The place was pretty empty when we got there, so no reservation was required. It was a great meal with a lowkey atmosphere.

Scott J.

Yelp
Excellent food, great service. I brought my wife for a post Valentine's day dinner. That's all I can think of right now

Berta L.

Yelp
My bestie and I dined at this restaurant called "Cafe Beaujolais" last time we traveled, it is a restaurant with a great reputation that includes a variety of French dishes such as baguettes, cheeses, grilled meats, seafood, French cheeses and classics french dessert.

Jim E.

Yelp
Great service and tasty food. The wine list is reasonably priced. It's a good place for groups or a special dates.

B. R.

Yelp
I love this place and am so glad they are back open! It feels like a real neighborhood spot, with lovely staff and a genuine feeling that they are happy to see you. Food is good, casual French cuisine. It feels like a cross between a cafe and a pub - a laid-back spot where you could spend hours talking to friends or playing the piano. There are not many places like this and I hope they continue to thrive!

Shirley S.

Yelp
It was all wonderful! Lovely ambiance, great service & delicious food. Just sorry to see it go

Wendy W.

Yelp
C'ėtait formidable! Amazing French fare! I was so sad to learn that they are closing after 25 years. The food and service were excellent.

Ray L.

Yelp
Very delicious food and romantic ambiance. Best escargot I've ever had. We did have to wait a long time for our food however.

DW N.

Yelp
We were so happy when this place reopened post-pandemic! One of our favs for years, we kept checking and they finally rejoined the neighborhood in Sept '21 - yay! So many 'yums,' but I have to mention the chef/owner and Fanny: When we dined in Sept, I asked about a special chicken pastry dish I hadn't had there in years, but loved. Well, Fanny had the chef come out (John?), and then she took my number and CALLED me when they had it this weekend, then they saved us a couple!! Felt like a VIP - if that's not old-world charming service, I don't know what is?!! We brought a couple of our good friends and they enjoyed it too - thanks Cafe Beaujolais for a FABULOUS evening. FINAL THOUGHT: For those that complain about "service time", if you're not prepared to spend a couple of lovely hours dining here, go someplace else - please! It's proven the French spend more time enjoying their dining experience than any other culture - and the U.S the least (see photo) - so "When in Rome... or Paris" :) relax, bring some friends and enjoy the experience!

Tsolig S.

Yelp
I visted today, for my birthday. The French onion soup was so delicious. We ordered the filet mignon and the NY sirloin. Both meat were tender. The service was very good. The ambiance was intimate, cozy. Will visit again.

Garen A.

Yelp
Been here a few times because to be honest it's not that easy to find French food in LA. I think one thing to note about the space itself is that it needs an upgrade for sure to help with the ambiance... I feel like if you're going for that French flair... you really need the place to act the part. Especially if you want something romantic for a date night... this isn't the place for that. It has more of a diner feel somehow. Food is good... the escargot was garlic-y and had good texture. The steak was cooked properly. I think they do a good job at not making the food too rich to the point where you're dying after the meal. Wine selection is decent, but should probably be more expansive for a French restaurant. We still had a few good bottles though. Overall I think this is where you come if you need a French food fix, but not ideal for a date night. Stay Cheerful ;)

Reah C.

Yelp
Best fish I've ever had and I'm very picky about the way fish is prepared. It was perfectly cooked, tender on the inside and a nice light crispy layer on the outside. It was a most pleasant evening in Eagle Rock.

Jill R.

Yelp
I got engaged at this restaurant 21 years ago in October. It holds a lot of fabulous memories, marvelous food great waiters.

Ana C.

Yelp
Highly recommend. Food was presented very nicely & tasted delicious. Service was awesome, never rushed. Very laid back ambience. Relax, enjoy your company & your excellent meal.

Scott K.

Yelp
* The best lamb I've ever had. * Huge chocolate mouse makes everyone happy * Service is quick and attentive * The French vibe could be a little stronger * Cold wrapped butter pats that just came out of the fridge that you can't spread? The food here is on another level; and yet they miss the boat with the butter ..... Could easily be 5-star with some tweaks and flourishes. Recommended!

Cameron R.

Yelp
To summarize: it was significantly over priced for mostly mediocre French food. The place is dripping in old school Eagle Rock vibes. It's a classic family friendly restaurant with paper table clothes and crayons for the kids. The server was quick and efficient with our orders and brought us bread and water right away. The French bread is excellent here. We ordered French onion soup, beef bourguignon and the trout special. The soup was great, the entrees were flavorful but there was something tacky and lackluster about the ingredients. Frozen vegetables were used in both dishes I believe (broccoli in beef bourguignon is weird anyway). The trout was full of bones which basically ruined that dish. Honestly I would not think of returning any time soon with these prices. The food should cost a quarter of what it does now for the quality served.

Mike C.

Yelp
Booked as back-up for Valentine's Day 2023 because of all the rave reviews. The original plan is an outdoor rooftop dinner, but "you can plan a pretty picnic, but you can't predict the weather." A handful of tables at 7pm. 1 star: cleanliness. 2 star: friendly staff. There's nothing else to note. Cozy area with dated decor. Large mirrors on every wall, I feel like I'm in a fishbowl. The food is mediocre for that hefty price point. Either give me quality or quantity, and it missed the mark for both. My gf said the best part was the complimentary with individual wrapped butter.

Antoine A.

Yelp
Great date night spot; the service, food, ambiance was perfect. Would give a 10/10 if I could. Definitely will be back.

Nancy E.

Yelp
We to to dinner the other day. I was disappointed over all since my previous visit. I was hoping for the halibut but it wasn't on the menu. I chose the filet- tho I chose rare I felt that it was perhaps medium and the char on the steak was too much. The dish is accompanied by Gorgonzola- the two very thin slices were ridiculous. I also ordered the French Onion Soup - not to my taste it was a bit sweet to my palate. Prices had doubled- I understand food cost going up. If I enjoyed my food I would not find this an annoyance. Dessert fair - the table shared on of everything. Wait staff lovely

Lyman C.

Yelp
A wonderful neighborhood place. The food is always great and the atmosphere is lovely

Ben D.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Over all the food is really good. But it's REALLY expensive. Over $200 for a meal for 2 people, we got 1 salad, 2 entrees, 1 dessert and wine. Also the waiter completely brought the wrong steak that was ordered. We ordered Filet Mignon and were given the New York steak. It was still really tasty, but it wasn't what we ordered.

Rebecca H.

Yelp
The escargot, the wine and crème brûlée was delicious... it was quiet in the restaurant, just one other couple besides my husband and I So it was great service too. I ordered the steak and frites - a simple, classic French meal. I ordered it medium. Sadly, the steak was like chewing rubber. It was my birthday so it was pretty disappointing. Which is why I only gave it 3 stars.

Thuy K.

Yelp
Always love coming here. From the charming setting to the welcoming staff, We really enjoy the ambiance. The wines selection is excellent, including our waiter's recommendation with our starter to pairing with our amazing entrees. Of course, we had great choices food, and then we had one of each of the desserts to finish our night here. Great local French cuisines to appreciate. Will come back again to support our neighborhood restaurants.

My husband and I went to Cafe Beaujolais for Valentine's Day this year. Funnily enough and through I didn't do it on purpose, I booked the reservations soon after THAT episode of The Last of Us aired and got major bonus points from my husband, haha. We loved the unfussy atmosphere and the simple good food. We got ourselves a bottle of wine (would have gotten a Beaujolais if they had one) and ordered an entree each. He got the fillet mignon and I got the the rack of lamb, both of which were delicious. For dessert we shared one of the specials which was like a deconstructed pavlova. I would definitely come again for another special dinner. We had been meaning for a while to try this place out and it didn't disappoint.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for sweet little French spots and this place does not disappoint. It is across the street from Tommy's and I don't think they have valet, at least there wasn't one there this Thursday night but parking on the street isn't too bad. We got there early and we were going to just stand at the bar but they were super accommodating and rushed to get our table ready. We started with a bottle of Beaujolais which was good but not really worth the $45 price tag. I may try something else next time but we were feeling festive and since it is seasonal we said eff it...and even ordered a second! We began with some apps: Escargot - a must! Always order this! Even if you don't like escargot, you will be wanting to sop up that leftover garlic, parsley oil with the bread. So divine. Frisée salad with poached egg - the perfectly poached egg and little bits of chopped bacon play well with the frisée. Also more bread sopping opportunities with the egg yolk. Yummy. French Onion Soup - total classic done well and endless bread dunking going on here. Burrata with Heirlooms - the tomatoes are fresh and were a welcome hit of acidity amidst all of the decadence. But the indulgence doesn't stop here, there are the mains yet to come... And yet they still haven't arrived.... We asked our very sweet waiter, I think his name was Nick or Justin? He was awesome. And so cute. I digress! Albeit we did order a ton of apps but our mains did take a bit, but as soon as we asked, it was as if he went to the kitchen and told the chefs, "They are ready now" and our entrees shortly followed. Steak Maitre d'Hotel - tender steak with an herb butter and French fries. So good. This is what I think a hot French businessman has for lunch. This dish is manly, sexy and so French. Seafood Fettuccine - there were delicious perfectly cooked scallops, tender plump lobster and the pasta was perfectly cooked. This could be the ultimate comfort, cheat food. So ridiculously good. Fletan Au Champagne - parm crusted Halibut with mashed potatoes and green beans. Everyone loves this dish. It was good but I feel like it may have been too hyped up. After a while the fish and the mashed potatoes feel like the same texture and the only crunch Is the green bean. I don't think I would order this again. Now this isn't a dinner that is going to be quick. Relax. Don't rush. Just sit back and enjoy your company. I adore this place and I don't see how I could ever go to another restaurant around here. Beaujolais stole my heart.

Yelp
It's finally open again! We ate here semi-regularly and were so worried throughout the pandemic that it was closed permanently, but the restaurant is reopened and revamped. Yay! The food here is as phenomenal as it was pre-pandemic! I had the L' Entrecote Au Poivre Vert (sautéed NY steak in peppercorn sauce), as did my husband. Weeks later we are STILL talking about it! It's truly the best steak I've had in my life! The wine was delicious, the bread was delicious, we loved the live music (accordion and piano) and just had a nice, two-hour, relaxed meal with family and enjoyed ourselves. There hasn't been enough of that in the last few years. And I am so grateful for the staff requiring masks until you sit, checking vaccination status, etc. It made me feel much more comfortable in the indoor space. I cannot wait to go back!
