Café Bilboquet

First time going today I went straight for the macaroons I asked the staff which once’s they recommend and once I got the top 4 me and my friend devoured it in seconds. They have a lot of options and also other yummy pastries I’ll be going back to try the others. The service was great , the atmosphere was nice. I am glad I went today. Big shout out to the staff thank you. I had a really nice experience here.

This place has a charm that is unique. The pictures up on the walls are all very captivating and beautiful and the service is so quick and efficient. I had a delicious quiche Lorraine and the eclairs looks so gorgeous. I had to take one home for the next morning, my iced latte was perfect. The caffeine was strong as hell and if I ever find myself back on 60th St.I’ll definitely pass by the café. There’s lots of seating and plenty of pastries and savory items to try. The packaging is also very nice. It looks expensive.

I visited Café Bilboquet in New York and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. The place is beautifully designed with elegant décor and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes it perfect whether you’re alone or with friends. The service was exceptional — the staff were friendly, attentive, and paid attention to the little details that make you feel truly valued as a guest. The coffee was simply excellent — rich, balanced, and clearly made with care. I also tried their pastries and desserts, which were fresh and absolutely delicious, especially the croissant: perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside. The location is great, close to lively spots in Manhattan, yet the ambiance inside remains calm and relaxing. Prices are slightly on the higher side, but the quality of the food, coffee, and service makes it worth every penny. Overall, I highly recommend Café Bilboquet if you’re looking for a spot that combines elegance, comfort, and top-quality coffee and food.

Rude and bad service. They were rude to my wife after purchasing an overpriced dessert for nearly 20 bucks, for no apparent reason. Not sure why they choose to single her out and start barking off on her & not other customers but…. Bizarre and unkind. The chocolate dessert was mediocre; tasting and texture of a something you could find at CVS. Was really disappointing. Some people seem to be unbothered and allowed to sit endlessly, and to be merry; while others are singled out to be rushed along. There was no need for all that! Plenty of other options around the area and the city; spend your money with them. Café Bilboquet isn’t worth the trouble.

A very lively French cafe. the display of fren pastries and sandwiches were very mouth watering indeed. the americano and blueberry scones didn’t disappoint. cozy place to sit down and enjoy your coffee.

My iced vanilla latte was solid but it’s pricey for a place with no specialty drinks. Came Wednesday afternoon and the line was pretty long but moved quickly. My iced latte was good for the first couple sips and then turned bitter. I need to mix it more next time. Overall it’s a solid spot but maybe not a frequent one for me

The cafe is decorated nicely and there’s a lot of effort to make it be and stay nice but would not recommend. The food is incredibly overpriced - I got one of their desserts for $16 and it was fine but not at all worth the cost. The service is fine, not overly friendly and not too rude.

Place is small and gets super loud. Staff is fast to serve pastries but then cashier ia pretty slow. Maybe I chose wrong but had a turnover and barely any filling, flavor was OK but it was a little disappointing considering the price.

Typical Café with your usual pastries, and menu of beverages. I like their coffee for sure. The service is great but it could definitely get really busy, and you do have to wait. The space is self is very chic in its design, and there is a reason I came to visit .

Very active and European style cafe with a plethora dessert/pastry options. Among cafe drink options from matcha to espressos. The staff are professionally nice and speedy with our time. It can be busy during cold season. Seating may be a wait. But there's decent size dining throughout cafe. Water closet located next to cashier. My oatmeal cookie, mini almond croissant, and chai oatmilk latte were tasty. The croissant was still flaky which means it was baked in house earlier and the oatmeal cookie was soft. I like the holiday aesthetic, have nostalgia of 20th century holidays. If you're in the East midtown area, stop by cafe bilboquet.

Dubai Chocolate seem to be having a moment and I'm currently all on board. There is a croissant version here that is excellent. The other item I got was just ok.

The croissants are said to be one of the best in UES.Crispy croissants and coffee go well together. The staff are all very kind and comfortable. Great selection from macaroons, coffee, wine, pastries, and sandwiches. The prices are a bit expensive, but you definitely pay for the vibes! The service is usually fast and there's typically seating whenever I come by.

Such a cute cafe with so many options including for vegetarians and vegans. I will 100% go back for the Dubai croissant. I ordered the veggie baguette toasted and it was insanely delicious along with a chai latte. Highly recommend to stop by if you're in the area. Ps. Cute dog friendly treats

Cute bakery with a good amount of seating. It's mid town prices. I didn't sit in I took to go. Service was quick and kind. Pastries looked delicious. I tried the almond croissant and it was yummy. Coffee (oat latte) was good and well made but not memorable.

They have ALWAYS served the customer in line AFTER me, the 2-3 times I've been here. Why. Infuriating. Are you selectively bypassing me? Are you _____? Are you just haphazard? Do you just take the aggressive people first? Are you just terrible at CS? Or ____? Why do you not honor your line? I've never had to write anything about this before. Unfortunately it didn't happen only once. Edit: moved this first line to the end, as the the relevant info is at the beginning now. Based on this, I've removed any comment on their food. For an area with a ridiculous #of impeccable pastry shops this is totally unacceptable.

Best food: Quiche Lorraine ( ask them to warm it for you) Ham and cheese baguette (warm), Savory scone (cheddar cheese, bits of ham onions and something else I think) Salmon Feuille (salmon, avocado onions, capers with a cheese spread, trust me its satisfying), I never tried the coffee I am a tea enthusiast. Service: Warm and friendly, Just clean up after yourself! It is always busy in the cafe and there is outdoor seating, some attractive people, meeting for business, personal or girlfriends meeting up. Ambiance: Tres Chic! It feels like your are transported in to France. I love the way it feels (when I can get a seat). Try not to talk loud and be obnoxious some of us just want to enjoy the moment in silence. Thanks.

Looking for a "classic" Upper East Side French bakery and cafe? You will find it here with the recessed seating, (faux) marble walls, and wood tables and accents. And be ready for UES prices. Service was brisk, not friendly. The staff is ready for patrons who know what they want. I was dismissed as I lingered to look at what was offered and answers to my questions were given without eye contact and an "why are you asking?" sense of exasperation. Responding to my ask for some additional milk for my coffee seemed to be a hardship . The NYT acclaimed Dubai chocolate croissant was my draw to the shop, and it did disappoint. Soggy layers of croissant was the vehicle for delicious chocolate and tasty pistacho paste. To offset the sugar, I purchased a $15 lentil salad that was about 1 cup of lentils, a perfectly poached egg, and 5 frisée pieces of lettuce. Not enough lettuce for the bowl. The final mouthfuls were pure lentil. For an additional $1, I ordered the lemon dressing. Delicious. Yet with a $15 salad, Monsieur at Madame Bilboquet could include the first small container of dressing for free. The iced coffee was the best of the $33 meal. I didn't leave hungry (and took half the croissant home), but left unimpressed.

I give it 5 stars for the food and ambience and 3 stars for the wait. Service is yuck and efficient. They will make time to answer your questions but when the line is out the door, they want you to be ready to go when it's your turn to order. Feels a bit like a French patisserie. Baguettes with ham and cheese, heated, were my absolute favorite item. The hazelnuts croissant was good but messy. The oatmeal raisin cookie was fabulous as was the palmier. The egg sandwich was subpar really but not terrible. Bland at best. We had one other item that was delicious but I forget now. A regular black drip coffee is easy to to get. A special coffee, made to order, will take some time. Like also to 15 minutes actually. Seating inside and out makes it great for all seasons. It's near the stadium ark so take it to go and enjoy your treats walking along the mall. Definitely recommend and would return.

According to the NY Times article dated June 26, 2025, these guys have one of the best plain butter croissants in NYC, so since I was staying close by, I had to try. The cafe is very cute and service lovely. I took my croissant to go, and ate it in the park with a coffee. It was indeed very good, though perhaps not as crispy as I've had elsewhere. Very buttery and well layered. Glad I tried it and would have again.

Very expensive and very poor costumer service. Bill not come back here, it's Manhattan and there are endless possibilities for great coffee place with with excellent customer service . I do not recommend

Terrible service and insanely overpriced. Stopped in to grab a snack and a coffee and was dumbfounded like a small cheese baguette and iced latte was $18+. I watched them charge the woman behind me $9 for a small bottle of Evian water. I can buy that at any deli for $2-$3. The workers were unfriendly. There was also nowhere to stand while you waited for your coffee, so I was just sticking my work backpack in people's face while they tried to sit and enjoy their coffee. I would never come back here.

Came here for a meeting and while waiting I ordered a pastry and a tea. I definitely had higher expectations for this place.. Filthy water was used to make the green tea that I ordered. It smelled like sewage. I couldn't drink it. C'mon get some filtered water or clean the water machine more often. Croissant was on point though! It was gone in a second. Flaky outside with softer interior. Lighting kept flickering from bright to low, music varied from euro trash to smooth French tunes. The service was good though! The girl at the register was a sweetheart.

3.5 / 5.0 - Cafe Bilboquet is located near Central Park and we stopped by for a tea break. It is such a cute store with many delicious-looking pastries. However, the chocolate eclair we tried did not taste fresh--it was hard and tasted like it'd just been sitting there. It was too bad because the seating area outside was really nice, too.

Stumble into this spot and it's quite small inside with some seatings. The line to order was not long but it took quite some time to just order a Mocha and chocolate chip cookie. There were 4 staff members and it still took time for the drink to come. You were given your baked goods at the registry so I couldn't even munch on it while waiting. Chocolate chip cookie was really good and different than your typical cookie. It has chocolate mousse or chocolate swirls on the inside along with the chocolate chips. It did not overpower the entire cookie rwther it enhanced the texture as it was a soft consistency and a crunchy outside.

Loveeee chance finds. Found this one while casually strolling in my neighborhood. It legit feels that you are in a cafe in Paris. Great section of bakery goods, coffee and French music. I need to be more regular here. I have never experienced bad coffee at a French place.

Everything was great and delicious 100/10. The staff and manager (i guess) tall black guy was so helpful. Whatever he recommended tasted great.

This is a cute little French spot right by my job in the city! It is so warm and cozy looking when you walk in, no wonder it is always packed. We came here for lunch yesterday. Although they have so many delicious bakery items on display, I ordered the chicken cobb salad and chocolate covered animal crackers. The salad was filling and satisfying. The ONLY Areason I give this place 4 stars is because they forgot to give me my sparkling Evian water and there were no utensils or napkins for my salad in the bag. But I think I'll stop by before work tomorrow and pickup some bakery items for the office. Who can resist a hot and flaky croissant?

Cute Cafe/Bakery that made me feel like I was in Paris! There are so many delicious treats in the display case. I ordered a pistachio pie which was delicious. I also ordered a cup of hot water. Service is efficient and great here. The line is fast - Make sure you know what you want to order before you're at the register! There's ample seating throughout the Cafe. Even on a busy day, if you're patient you'll get a spot eventually. There is only bathroom, but at least it's nice!

My friend brought 5 cakes from this high end coffee shop to our lunch gathering today. Everyone was excited to get one but very disappointing. 2 ladies had Mont Blanc aux marrons which was disappointing. A good Mon tblanc tastes delicate and real marrons such as chest nuts. I had 3 bites and it was nothing like the one I loved at Angelina Paris and Ginza Tokyo Japan. A waste of money. I had a cake with a red leaf decoration and white shreddered chocolate tasting like a fridge. It was disgusting as I could tell the white chocolate is not fresh and absorbed the fridge taste(smell) as if I was eating a refrigerator. I ate a few bites and could not finish. I suggested I could bring them back to the store but the lady who bought them said she didn't want to go back as the store girls were arrogant. I stopped by the shop to speak with a manager who was nice but I could tell the girls behind of the showcase are not sweetest as selling sweet, delicate bread and pastries. $12 per cake. The coffee shop is chic and packed always. It is sad that they sell cakes like these.

I picked up a baguette and two slices of pistachio tart. Everything was very very good. Baked with love for sure. Worth the trip.

Ice Cold Baked Pastries. I purchased a Spinach Feuillete today for $9.80 and it was ice cold. (Probably baked yesterday or days ago and stored in fridge overnight and put out on counter today) Shame on you to charge almost $10 for day old pastry that isn't flakey and baked today. I've loved this shop for years and will continue to patronize them. The counter staff are extremely nice and always make me feel welcome. Their other pastries are always fresh and delicious so I will chalk up today as management trying to save a buck. The counterstaff did offer to heat up my item but I prefer it at room temperature.

Whenever I am on the UES near 60th Street I like to stop in for a coffee and a bite to eat. Today it was a small cappuccino and an orange and lemon brioche with large sugar crystals on top. Simple and tasty. Mornings it's mobbed by various neighborhood regulars and elegant dressed ladies. It's très French and has not only lots of pastries and viennoiseries but also food items for sale like biscuits, jams and chocolates. There is a restroom on the same floor.

When I was visiting NYC I wanted to have Breakfast at Tiffany's just like Aubrey Hepburn did. I was looking for a place that served coffee and pastries so I could bring it over to Tiffany's. I found Cafe Bilboquet on my trusty Yelp app. The place was pretty packed, and it looks like a cute social cafe. My cousin and I grabbed coffee and croissants to-go and ate it outside of Tiffany's! Super fun and happy to check that off my bucket list!

Alright it's my first time coming to this cafe and I'll come back again! The cashier Brandon was very helpful and kind, omg such a service! Thanks to him the dishes that we got were delicious. The atmosphere of this store also giving the elegance vibe. Thank you guys, see you again)

Cafe Bilboquet was in my TO GO Collection! I walked down to the Plaza Hotel only to find the food court closed. It was way past time for me to eat. I used my app and hit my TO GO collection to search for the nearest food business. There it was Cafe Bilboquet. Boy was I happy I bookmarked this beautiful Cafe. First off I'm not in the habit of ordering without checking the prices first. Since my rent took a big reduction I'm going to enjoy the extra cash! I looked over the items and decided the Peach Sandwich sounded great. My helper behind the counter was so sweet to advise me based on sugar content and my other food allergies. The bread sounded delicious too. He heated it up and let me take his photo. Bonus points for that! I decided to go outside to eat. The spaces are like having your own little private booth. It's very comfortable although my table needed to be cleaned. I am not going to deduct for that because I'm finding that to be an issue every place I go to eat lately! The delicious sandwich alone is well worth Five Stars. One note I showed proof of vaccination at the register but changed my mind and sat outside. Like I said it was a great outdoor seating space and the weather is beautiful today. I'm recommending Cafe Bilboquet. Even the restroom is luxurious! Café Billoquet is so charming, so comfortable, so homey and so very French. Like most French cafe/ bakeries spacing is limited. But this magnificent staple on the east side just seems to work. I've never tried their quiches, soups, salads or sandwiches. I usually come in just for baguette, a mini pain au chocolat or for their palmiers. Regrettably, they don't have my favorite pastry- Madeline's, but they do have tons of French macaroons. The croissants and pain au chocolat are the perfect mix of butter, crispness, and sweetness. Almost as I've transported to France. I don't come as much as I should here. But each time I do, I am always taken aback on how lovely this place is.

Went here twice in two days. I loved the aesthetic of this place. It's very classy and cute. And it's bright!! It has nice lighting inside with some very artistic paintings and pictures. The service is nice and efficient. The bathroom is clean, which is always a plus. I got bun feuillet, pistachio macaron, raspberry beignet, and iced latte. They were all delicious. The macaron had the perfect texture. The crunch-air-chew-jam and I got the nice pistachio flavor. Bun feuillet was a nice fancy smoked salmon sandwich with cucumber and some other greens and sauces in it. It was cold, which made sense with the smoked salmon in it. I was also expecting some crunch and the layers of pastry bursting in my mouth but it was more of a softer bun. I guess I just got deceived by the look of it. Delicious raspberry beignet, and perfect size, too. I was surprised by how reasonable the price was knowing where it's located at and how fancy the inside felt. It's a nice stop to rest after walking in the park for so long or to bring some pastries to the park to picnic.

I stopped by here after a long day at museums for some pick me up! Since the pastry case looked so incredible it took me a while to decide on my options. The cashier was super nice about it. I ended up getting mocha and chocolate croissant. The mocha was so nice and perfectly sweet. Which if you have seen any of my review means not overly sweet at all!!! The chocolate croissant was equally delicious! Highly recommend

I have always been a fan of their Mille Feuille. I ordered the Mille Feuille for delivery recently again, but realized that they shrunk the size and changed the recipe. It is no longer good. Please bring back your old recipe :(

Cafe Bilboquet is one of my favorite spots to get coffee or tea and a light snack on the weekend. I was especially attracted to the red velvet seating, small marble tables, and chandelier--all key elements in its elegant French design. I usually get an iced coffee, the mushroom feta frittata, or some quality macaroons. Bibloquet definitely has a wide variety of macaroon flavors! Although the service is good, I wish the staff were a friendlier. They also discourage long term computer use, but I think it would actually aid their business. Sometimes it feels cramped when there are too many people, so it's best that one comes outside of peak hours. Nevertheless, I can always rely on Bibloquet as one of the best coffee outing experiences to share with my friends. :)

I was checking out the yelp page for Cafe Bilboquet because my friend was there recently but then I realized that I've been here a year ago. I used to work sporadically in the neighborhood, and I entered the cafe once because I got there early and needed to kill time before I headed out to work. I remember getting an iced coffee and a chocolate chip cookie. I can't remember exactly my exchange with the staff there but I remember they were nice and charming. The cookie was decent and the coffee was excellent for a hot summer day. It was somewhat populated but it was quiet for the amount of people which was nice.

Outstanding pastries (some of the best Kouign Amann I've had), but the recent price increases have gone too far. I sympathize with the cost of rent in midtown, especially given damage done by the pandemic, but $14 for a cappuccino and pastry is excessive.

$8 for subpar iced coffee and the absolute slowest possible service i've ever encountered. I've waited 20 mins for a hot drip coffee, which they only fill 70% of the way. Really tested my patience the other day taking 25 mins to ring up single pastry with no drink order...

Just so delicious. Long line and pricey but worth it. Tons of delicious looking pastries. What I got was good but I definitely want to go back and try more!

The restaurant/ cafe is so elegant. Service is cashier with very limited seating. I had the beet juice and the coffee was delicious.

Warmth... I crave the warmth of Cafe Bilboquet. I try to make it a stop when I need a respite and some low-cost luxury at the end of the day. Whether for five minutes or half an hour, I need my daily fix of this oasis's vitamin W-armth. Warm ambience: The charming atmosphere oozes that of a Parisian cafe. The soft lighting makes everyone look good, and the burgundy velvet cushions on the banquettes and chairs make it feel plush. Young and old, from different walks of life, whether dressed to nines or in sweats, everyone looks chic and interesting in this space. (It might take a minute or two to find a place to sit, but the cozy seating areas, inside and out, are well worth the wait.) Warm service: The calm voices of the polite team behind the counter always make you feel welcome, no matter how small or complicated your request. When Diane is there, there is an even higher level graciousness and efficiency. Warm offerings: The classic pastries, the salads, and sandwiches...Simply staring at the selection, trying to choose among them all, makes you momentarily forget the hustle and stress of a New York day. (My favorites are the palmiers, the brioches, the bite-size sandwiches, mini banquettes, pains au chocolate, and the spicy chicken sandwich...)

Ordered and did the picnic in the park. You can pick two per category. For bread/appetizer, we chose the mini baguette sandwich (baguette with cheese and ham) and tuna brioche. For food, we chose one of each option offered (caprese salad and salmon w/ quinoa). For drinks, we chose the lemonade (other option is a mini evian water). For dessert, we chose one of each option offered (chocolate eclair and a seasonal baked cherry dessert). With taxes, the basket was $70. I would say it was cute and definitely a nice experience that is offered. The park is only an avenue or two away so I would say this can be bought and brought for a cute date or outing!

I love their croissants. Real flakey and very big and buttery. The desserts are pricey but excellent. The baguette is also crisp and moist inside. One of my favorites in the city. The macaron is crisp outside and soft. Today I tried foie gras macaron and a lemon one. Both were outstanding!

Cafe Biloquet is a cute and cozy little spot that's perfect to enjoy a bite and a conversation with friends on a cold rainy afternoon. The spicy chicken sandwich was delicious although the spice was not quite present but overall a tasteful meal. In addition the hot chocolate was served with just enough sweetness that the flavor was present without the added sweetness. Will come back again and enjoy other food and beverage options.

They don't show you the total on the screen - just make you pay, and then throw the receipt in a pile before asking if you want it. Well I got my receipt and they charged me for beet juice, not lemonade - which is about $3 more. I politely pointed out the mistake to the cashier, and she said her manager would have to void it and then recharged me the correct amount. I have called and emailed, and no one has responded. So I've basically paid $30 for a small lemonade (that wasn't even filled all the way) and a croissant. Go elsewhere. Nicer workers and better drinks and food. Terrible, terrible customer service.

Cute spot, has a European style hot chocolate machine running in the back and plenty of beautifully made pastries, with a line to the counter which is always a good sign. I just stopped by for a coffee before my meeting though, and feel like I must have did it wrong, grabbing a latte (with almond milk, and reduced the shot from 2 to 1) and somehow that came out to $8.50, $.9.50 with tip. That's is seriously too steep for a cup of coffee for me, might check out the hot chocolate and see is maybe that was an error... but wow.
