Budget-Friendly Steak Frites Are Trending in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Launched in 2023 as a prix-fixe, steak frites–only concept intended to “strike the balance of being special and quality-driven without the steep price tag for guests,” the focused menu aims to make steak-and-fries feel special without a steep check. The prix-fixe runs $49.95 per person and includes crusty sourdough, a simple green salad, a 7-ounce Prime New York Strip from Creekstone Farms and endless hand-cut, beef tallow–fried Belgian frites; guests can upgrade for $20 to an 8-ounce American Wagyu strip from Chatel Farms. Chef Ford Fry says, “I’ve always loved hyper-focused menus that offer one thing done really well. L’Entrecote, a concept from Paris, has always been on my mind, and steak and fries are one of my favorite things to eat,” describing the concept as intentionally simple and tightly focused." - Su-Jit Lin

Delicious food in a classic French restaurant with outdoor seating. It is close to main attractions such as de Louvre but without the busiest touristy scenario. The burger and the fish were really good.

Traveled from the US. Great restaurant close to the Louvre. Open late with indoor and outdoor seating. Food was excellent, highly recommend the burger. Never had ratatouille, this was fantastic. Staff was very accommodating and spoke French and English making it very easy to order. We ended up coming multiple times.

Food was good - I personally didn’t fancy the selection though. The general speed was okay, but took a bit long till we finally got the bill. Highlights - french atmosphere - the freshly squeezed Apple juice - the apricot juice was also served in a way that it gave me “Call me by your name” vibes

Great service! The waiter serving us was very helpful and polite. My croque madame was great! Considering how close it is to the Louvre Museum the prices are reasonable. Although my mom mentioned that the onion soup wasn’t seasoned enough for her liking.

Cozy atmosphere, friendly English speaking staff, and plenty of seats… A wonderful place to stop after the Louvre! The St. German Spritz is excellent. We shared the Tapas plate which was plenty of food to carry us through lunch and into dinner.

When we came in the staff were very nice and friendly. I had a croque Monsieur that came with fries and a salad and my friend had a caesar salad and a Viennese hot chocolate that looked delicious. The food was good, the atmosphere was relexed. They had a menu in English as well as French. If you’re around the Louvre- this is a good place to eat!

We ate here before our visit at the Louvre. It wasn't overly crowded, which was nice (and surprising, considering the area) and the waitstaff were polite and attentive. The food was delicious. I had a croissant and fresh carrot juice and it was amazing. 10/10. Recommend.

Yelp
We found Café Blanc very close to where we were staying and we are very glad we did. We were quickly seated and the waiter was very helpful going over the menu. I started off with an Expresso Martini which was very good and yes this is how it is spelled here and I like that because that is how I always pronounce it. With our drinks our waiter even brought us out fresh olives. Now I'm not the biggest fan but Ashley very much enjoyed it. There was a lot on the menu that I was interested in and they had a number of different cuts of beef but I had to go with the Whole Duck Breast which is also a French classic which I got cooked medium rare but I'm perfect sure that's how they suggest it which is the right way like they do with all their beef too. Ashley and I also split the French Onion Soup. I will say by Duck was very good. Tasty rich sauce with crispy duck skin cooked perfectly. Some of the best duck I have had in awhile. I will say the French Onion Soup though was a little bland. I just didn't have that rich beef broth I am used too. Beside that everything was very good and would for sure recommend going to Café Blanc for a nice menu which amazing French options.

Yelp
Bread - keep it in case you head to Montmartre and need weapons to defend yourself from the scammers. Steak - tough and stringy. Fries - not bad. Fish - not bad. Service - friendly and efficient. Feeling that you took the time to dine here during your limited stay in Paris - regrettable.

Yelp
We had reservations at a restaurant next door to the the Cafe Blanc but when we arrived we decided we didn't want to eat there. We were pretty upset to be out on the street wondering where to go but we saw the outdoor menu and the Cafe Blanc looked pretty and busy so we went in - score! We got a table by the window and settled in for a delightful meal. I got a special from a menu board the waiter brought over - delicious pork in a great sauce with mashed potatoes. Absolutely delicious. My husband got beef in sauce ...the French know their sauces! We shared an absolutely delicious crème brûlée dessert. The waiter was charming . We got a kick out of seeing a French family come in and order hamburgers and fries and eat them very neatly with knives and folks. If you're in the area ( near the Louvre) this could be a good spot for a lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Beautiful location, excellent service and amazing food. Offered a wide variety of menu items and interesting specials. Would definitely go back!

Yelp
Service was friendly and welcoming. Food left a bit to be desired. Beef was good, though some cuts were tough. Duck was very, very tough. The Buddha Bowl was a hit and the kids menu was very reasonable with a good selection. Overall, a pleasant place but keep looking. There are too many places to eat in Paris to settle.

Yelp
Went here our 1st night in Paris...it was close to our hotel Food was good, service was excellent

Yelp
Wonderful food & service. Good enough that we ate there twice. Thank you, Cafe Blanc!!

Yelp
Great place for late night eats. Kitchen closes around midnight but drinks are served until 2am. The escargot here was the first and only we experienced the entire time in Paris but it was delicious. The rib steak wasn't terrible but wasn't great either. The highlight and this is such an odd one, is the chicken sandwich. This thing was amazing. Something about the chicken was so damn good. Bread was a bit... stale but everything else about it was amazing.

Yelp
Café Blanc was the perfect spot for breakfast during our Europe trip! It's conveniently located just a short walk from the Louvre. The croissant was absolutely perfect--flaky and fresh. My husband and I enjoyed a lovely, relaxing morning here on the second leg of our adventure. Will definitely need to come here with my kids. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Very enjoyable café. The food was perfect. There was a great wine selection and desert too! The menu is not too complex but enough choices to enjoy. The quality of the meal and service is a standout. Merci Beaucoup!

Yelp
Loved this cafe near the Louvre museum for a quick bite to eat! Lots of seating available and they have a covered outdoor area with heating! It's a nice place to sit and do some people watching while you enjoy your meal. The language barrier was minimal and the server spoke English. They pretty much have something for everyone on the menu. The coke with the lemon slice was SO refreshing and the croque madame was amazing. It really hit the spot. It was cooked perfectly. The frites were super crunchy and the perfect complement to the sandwich. I mixed the ketchup with the Dijon mustard to dip the frites in and it was a great choice. The little side salad had a balsamic vinaigrette and it gave some freshness to the meal. Definitely would recommend this place! Especially if you are looking to knock some "bucket list" French foods off all in one place!

Yelp
The server was very attentive and even tried to fix the old fashioned I ordered. The second attempt was made by the manager and was the bare minimum required to be a full drink. Not sure what they did to the bourbon but it was weak. The bottom of the glass, full of sugar. The beef bourguignon tasted odd from the first bite but I chalked it up to my taste buds and plowed through , the tough, over cooked, fatty beef. In fact I left about a 3rd which was the fat. Any way the server was nice and attentive. The food and drinks... not so good. I wish Yelp had half stars....this is a solid 2.5, but erring on the high side because of the server .

Yelp
Delicious and affordable menu. Great service. Clean restaurant and rest rooms. Service was available in French and English.

Yelp
Great little place showing the true side of cafe life in Paris. Food was very good. We did the Sunday brunch. And it was amazing.

Austin T.

Yelp
Great food, friendly staff, and great ambiance. The food portions were very filling, and our server was very helpful with recommendations. Our son loved the pineapple glass with his virgin colada.

Yelp
Good service. Food is so-so. I visited based on the high Yelp reviews, but I didn't have the same experience. First off, the server was excellent. He was friendly and even joked a bit. Service was quick, and he had good timing for checking on us. As for the food, the roasted pork was pricey but the quality didn't match. It was really dry; it made me think it was reheated. The skin was almost black from being in the oven too long--and it was soft and rubbery. It came with potatolings that had been boiled and put into a container with some sauce. Not much seasoning and not fantastic. The duck was better. It tasted fresh and was cooked to a medium. Mashed potatoes came with it. These potatoes were better than than the other. They didn't ask for our health pass here for those who are nervous.

Yelp
I do not have enough good things to say about this place!!! I rarely do 5 stars mostly 4 but this place deserves it! They had fantastic food, it was a little bit pricy but the food once again was just amazing! Perfect portion sizes maybe even a little bit too much! The service was absolutely fantastic the food came out very fast! The ambiance was just spectacular it was so cute in there and not too loud or packed in! Very spacious for a Paris cafe at dinner! The wait staff was just fantastic they spoke great English and French and were very accommodating! Possibly some of the best waiters and waitresses I've ever had! Drinks were fantastic and everyone had good food (apparently the beef dish wasn't great but everyone else had delicious food) HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Yelp
Fast service with decent food. You won't be wowed with the food but service was the fastest we have had in France. We are talking iHop fast! This is a good place for Croque Madame!

Yelp
We loved our time at Cafè Blanc- they have continuous service so we were able to eat around 1800 when we got to Paris. The service was wonderful and the food absolutely matched that. The beef bourguignon was mouth watering and extremely flavorful. The Bordeaux red wine was equally great. We loved sitting outside being able to people watch and relax. A great option.

Yelp
We stopped by here on a walk back to our apartment. Delightful stop on our way all home. Started with a Monaco and a cucumber mojito, both were delish and really hot the spot. Wait staff was very attentive and without asking we got water delivered to the table, so thoughtful. We decided to stay for a snack, so Niçoise salad it was. Fresh and flavorful, not the best I've had in the city but tasty none the less. All in all a lovely experience in this charming restaurant on a hot summer day in Paris.

Yelp
We had a good lunch here. We sat inside on the second floor and were quickly brought English menus. I had the fish and chips. The fish was light and flaky. Lots of people were there during the lunch rush but all of our food came out quickly.

Yelp
We stumbled on Cafe Blanc because the cafe we were going to was closed. It was busy so we figured it would be good. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather, atmosphere and people watching. I had the Buddha bowl which was vegan, one daughter had the onion soup (which ended up being her favorite from the entire trip) and my other daughter had vegetarian lasagna. Everything was so good! Service was good, too. A happy accident!

Yelp
Great food and service! A real value for the area. Our server was wonderful. Please enjoy!

Yelp
Lovely cafe by the Louvre. After most restaurants having the same menu, this was a welcome respite. Poke bowl, fresh tuna and the usuals. Lovely service too! Highly recommend.

The food was delicious and staffs were professional. Very nice outdoor dining table We really enjoyed it.

Yelp
Due to jet leg we got up at 4 AM and started walking the city of Paris. Unfortunately, there are almost no cafés open in the early hours of the morning. Café Blanc was one of the first ones to open at 7 AM. The croissants were delicious and the service very friendly, we went back a couple of times during the week.

Yelp
I had planned dinner nearby at a restaurant called Louise, however was confused by their hours of operation on their website which stated they are open Saturday nights, but when we arrived were told by the owner it was only the bar that was open and not the kitchen. We would not be able to dine there that evening as planned. Directly next door we stumbled upon Café Blanc, and decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad we did! We snagged a corner booth in the nearly empty dining room (the tables outside were quite packed with smokers!). Service was genuine, friendly, and warm, and the food was excellent! We partook in the café's happy hour, which offers large Saint Omer draught beers and mojitos for €6. Our food arrived quickly. I opted for the traditional steak tartare, which was outstanding, and had a beautiful texture, great flavor, and sharp acidity. The salad on top added freshness, and the fries provided great texture as well as some starch, the perfect accompaniments to the tartare. My mom selected the yellow chicken supreme with rosemary juice and ratatouille. The statler chicken breast (also known as a frenched breast, a skin-on breast with the first wing joint attached) was incredibly tender, flavorful, and comforting. The ratatouille was also a nice touch. In lieu of dessert, we finished our meal with camembert cheese with truffles served with black cherry jam, mixed salad, and toast. OMG, this was such a perfect ending to a really great meal. So many great flavors from the gooey camembert laced with black truffle flavor, to the sweet and tart cherry jam. I would happily enjoy this over dessert any day. The provided toast wasn't enough for the generous portion of cheese, so we also used slices of baguette provided with our meal. This meal was unplanned and unexpected, but truly enjoyable. I would happily return and recommend it to others.

Yelp
This was a very nice stop before out flight to Nice and one of the only places open early enough. The croissant was delicious and the service was quick and English speaking friendly. It was a very cute restaurant!

Yelp
Surprisingly good! Not far from the Louvre, this typical Parisian café is right across the street from the Ministry of Culture and Communication, with its remarkable façade wrapped in a metallic net that unifies the two buildings that are part of the Ministry[1]. Being summer, we sat outside, and ordered a few dishes a Parisian friend who recommended this place suggested: - The burratina was fresh and delicious; just perfect for a hot summer evening. - The tuna tataki was another super-fresh, super-tasty dish; served with a coleslaw-like thing on the side. - The magret de canard was cooked perfectly: pink on the inside, and packed with flavor. beautiful presentation on the dish too. - For dessert, the caramel sundae was so tasty it made us forget all the calories it likely packs. The creme brûlée was wonderfully crispy on the outside, and perfectly creamy on the inside. Service is pretty standard: servers are friendly, but don't expect things to move fast. Also, if you're sitting outside, keep in mind that every other people smokes. This is Paris, after all. --------------------- [1] By the architect Francis Soler, the net is a continuous weave of stainless steel mesh. Its features reminded me of some stylized floral and plant patterns you often see in art nouveau.

Yelp
We ate at this restaurant at least 6 times during our week in Paris. The service was fast, friendly, helpful, and every order was accurate. We had a couple of waiters but JB was our favorite - recognized us from our first meal there and waited on us almost every visit after. The burger was outstanding - fresh and juicy. Frites/fries were hot and crisp (but needed salt). Croque monsieur was hot, cheesy, and delicious. Linguini with tomatoes was sweet and pasta cooked al dente. Creme Brûlée was too die for and the brioche with ice cream was decadent.

Yelp
Wow what an awesome experience! The food was amazing and our server Sofia was truly amazing and made the experience even better. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Delightful cafe with a straightforward selection of French classics. Croque madame and a croque Monsour we're a little soggy but otherwise hit the spot. Half liter of house red also hit the spot during a busy shopping day. Waiter started off frosty but warmed up as my French improved.
google avatar

Yelp
Perfect breakfast just a few minute walk from the louvre! Super friendly and fast service! Excellent food
google avatar

Yelp
This is a super casual, don't expect much diner. They do check vaccine passports before they serve you. Which is quite nice, wish they do it in US. The house wine is probably same as most restaurants around here but definitely challenging for a refined palette. The foie gras is really good though but there is that tiny bit of salad green for decoration. The toasted breads would probably be swapped out if you are at a fine dining place. It's really crispy and super toasted. Flavor is nice. Croque is more like a very cheesy sandwich. Yummy and definitely a huge welcome to France with all that cheese. Haha.

Jane D.

Yelp
Great service, of course lovely Parisian ambience. Was excited to have my final beef tartare of the trip, but couldn't eat it because it just tasted like ketchup.

Liliya G.

Yelp
What came here on the rainy day the waitress was very friendly. She seated us right away. Our brunch was delicious We ordered onion soup tuna tartare and honey duck.
google avatar

Francesca C.

Yelp
We came here on our first night in Paris and came back because we absolutely loved the Onion Soup and came back for more! Service is very good, they have English and Spanish speaking staff. You will feel as a true Parisian once you sit outdoors, right behind the Louvre and hear all the locals coming in for their dinner, beer or wine. French fries are one of the best in town -thin, crispy, perfectly seasoned! If you sit inside you might get a hint of cigarette smell because there's a smoking area very close to the entrance and it leaks in. As I said it is totally a spot you should come out and try! (Tip is always included in Paris restaurants, but if you feel the servers went the extra mile for you, feel free to leave a few €, they'll appreciate it!) @francescamusica

Yelp
So good that we had breakfast there twice during our 10 day stay. Delicious baked goods and their eggs were delicious. The breakfast I chose also had a crepe with jam and butter that was yummy. Also, maybe the most important the Cafe Creme was perfect.
google avatar

Sydney T.

Yelp
**I've been to this restaurant twice. This review is covering both my experiences here.** The first time we ordered the 5 frommage board for €22. It's huge and took 4 adults to finish it. It was soooo delicious. (I have no clue what the cheeses are named.) The second time we ordered the charcuterie board. It's €25 and well worth it. (I've listed what the two types of pâté are.) They kept replacing our bread when it got low. You will need to tell them to stop if you're full. The candy crush is €9 and is very sweet and tastes like apple. My personal favorite drink there! My father had Tommy's margarita and enjoyed it. Strong on the tequila and light on the lime. I've starred my personal favorite cheeses, two of them are a strong taste. Add the meat and some jam to help tone it down if you find the flavor to be too strong. The service was fast and friendly both times. They have an English menu and a French one. The waiters we've had know enough English to get by with serving us. One knew more English than the other.

Yelp
I visited Cafe Blanc on my first night in Paris and had the fish and chips. It was amazing! I never order this in the US but I tried it here and loved it. On our last night in Paris we had such a hard time finding a restaurant that we needed up eating here again because everyone loved it. The sirloin steak I heard was amazing from two of my friends. The lamb shoulder and mashed potatoes were also great I heard. I'm a picky eater so on my second night here I just had the cheeseburger and fries. The best! Please visit here when you go to Paris. It is close to the Louvre Museum. Also try the drink Named I love Paris! It is so good we bought two rounds. Bon appetit!

Yelp
The food was very good, the set menu for breakfast was good choice. The croissants were delicious. The servers were friendly and can speak English.
google avatar

Yelp
Totally worth a visit. Attentive and friendly service, Brasserie food that matches the palette of a tourist with the traditional Parisian dishes, and a nice bustling atmosphere with plenty of people watching. The menu is a bit of a tourist version of a traditional brasserie menu, but that really works - especially given the close proximity to the Louvre. The dining room can be very busy at lunch (12'ish until 2'ish), but we only had. 10 or so minute wait. And the staff are all very friendly and quick to transition to English to help you find your way around. All and all, I really liked his place and would come back. However, if you're looking for a more traditional brasserie style meal . . . I suggest finding another location.

Jonathan B.

Yelp
Better options very likely in the Louvre area. Tuna Nicosie salad was absolutely gross. Waiter recommended it, and then when I told him I didn't like it, did nothing about it. Sounds like a salty review on my part, but I'm just stating the facts. Truffle rigatoni pasta which my wife had was very good which balances it out a bit. French onion soup was just ok, really overpriced for a bowl of soup. Again, likely better options in the Louvre area.

Amy F.

Yelp
Our favorite spot for the week we were in Paris. Great food and very good service. We tried numerous dishes and enjoyed them all.

Yelp
Just been with friends to see Racing 92 beat Pau,and we thought well its late, but let's get a quick bite to eat to complete the evening...and came across this little restaurant Service good, friendly, quick, laid back A good little rouge to wash down the Caesar salads & fish & chips (both breaded btw) which were fine Will take a proper look and revert / update next time we go when we are not in a rush and tired
google avatar

Javier I.

Yelp
Great dinner at this delicious restaurant. We had the pumpkin soup du jour, chicken sate wok, and sirloin with French fries. They gave us some baguette bread and butter to begin. Butter was smooth but bread could be better. The soup and chicken plate were really good, especially the chicken (loved it). The sirloin so so (it comes with a nice sauce to help), but the French fries were tasty. Service was fantastic. Sofia was very professional and spoke Spanish, which is a plus in France when you don't speak French (working on it!). If they improve their steak and bread, they would get the 5 star rating for sure. We would definitely come back.

Jeff K.

Yelp
Server was very nice, quick service. Food fantastic, we had burger crispy chicken. Great location, seating a bit tight. Would go again for sure

Yelp
Excellent and friendly service! We both had the fish & chips, so good - and the shoe string fries were great! Be sure to have a little expresso - there coffee is good! :)
