Many of the other post here are about their brunch. So, we tried their dinner options. Apparently, their dinner options are a bit of a secret. No problem getting a table. Decor and atmosphere is warm and quaint. The French Onion soup and Beef Bourguignon was very good 👍. This is a great place to take date. Expect a casual European dining pace and enjoy your company. There is no rush here. NOTE: The restaurant was about half capacity. We saw only one server and he was very busy. If they are at full capacity, they will need extra help.

The space itself is beautifully decorated and the food was good. I had the ham, scrambled eggs, avocado croissant breakfast sandwich. The wait was around 15-20 minutes to receive my food to go. The cashier was also the only barista and waiter and only one person in the kitchen. I think the service could definitely be improved by adding additional staff during busy times.

Google
Food, ambiance, accessibility were all good. Only negative was that the indoor air smelled heavily of smoke like from cooking burgers or something. It wasn’t well ventilated from the kitchen. Perhaps it was an off day. I was originally going to work on my laptop and stay longer but the air quality was so bad that I sat outside to eat and left soon after. My clothes and coat smelled of cooking smoke. :/ The employees were very nice. No other complaints. Great parking and accessibility for wheelchairs.

Such a lovely neighborhood cafe with a soft welcoming atmosphere. We came here for breakfast, but after discovering attractive happy hour options, decided to come back for dinner as well. Food is simple and delicious. Various menu options. And all together is just a quiet not rashy spot.

Google
Had a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs, avocado. I have no idea how, but these were the best scrambled eggs I've ever had (is it the butter?), and a delicious creme Brulee cappuccino.

Google
This French restaurant truly exceeded all expectations. The service was impeccable – attentive but never overbearing, and the staff’s knowledge of the wine list was impressive. We started with the French onion soup, which was rich and flavorful, followed by the ratatouille that was bursting with fresh vegetables. The cozy, romantic ambiance, complete with candle-lit tables and soft background music, made this a perfect spot for a special evening. I highly recommend this gem for anyone seeking authentic French cuisine!

Google
Cafe Boheme is a beautiful place. This would be great for a special occasion- or just celebrating any day of the year! Love the service and the chill French playlist. We loved the hummus and crudites, french onion soup, seared ahi tuna nicoise, and chicken au jus with green beans and potato. Would be happy to come back and try the crepes.

Google
I love this place! I love their smoked Salmon sandwich for my breakfast or brunch, and the coffee is great there. Sometimes I eat outside and sometimes I take it to go, but overall-this is a nice local community restaurant with a healthy conscious option for good eating.

Yelp
This past Monday, we landed at LAX around 9:30 am and my hubs Yelped for a breakfast place in the surrounding area and found Cafe Boheme. We were so happy to have found this cafe. Great menu, great food and friendly atmosphere all around. The guy seated next to us lives just up the street and was telling us the owner used to have a flower shop at this location. Moved the flower shop and opened this cafe. He's here on a regular basis and highly recommends this cafe. We shared the Le Brie - omelet with cherry tomatoes and brie which was heavenly and a side of the perfectly lightly fried potatoes. We also had a hazelnut croissant which was truly authentic, flaky Parisienne croissant. Can't wait to go back there next time we're in the area again.

Josette B.

Yelp
aesthetically pleasing. Egg Croissant was heaven. Their croissant was freshly baked! Fabulous breakfast treat for busy mom. Excellent service

Kayla U.

Yelp
Love having Cafe Boheme in our neighborhood! A bright cafe serving French food - crepes in the morning, tartines, pastries and coffee as well as dinner options (I haven't tried those yet!). Ordered their croque madame in the morning and really enjoyed it. Would like to try more! It's a really beautiful cafe with ample seating in the morning and relaxing. I can see people working here in the day!

Madalin C.

Yelp
Cafe Boheme was an incredible experience, the atmosphere was refreshing and pleasant. The presentation and quality of the food was outstanding. The menu was fairly priced and had great options. The service was amazing, Lidia was sweet, friendly and polite. We loved sharing a meal here and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice French cafe to enjoy.

Giselle W.

Yelp
Loved the lemon crepe and croissant in the morning. Friendly servers and the cafe has a fancy, yet modern casual vibe. I've drive past this cafe many times and finally stopped in twice in same week. Once for breakfast/ brunch , then for dinner. Their happy hour is amazing. Good wine selection and food options. I ordered the a salad which was perfectly dressed. So glad to know there's authentic French food in playa del Rey.

Yelp
This place is incredible. If you want a cozy spot that delivers fresh breakfast with french influence, this is it! The waffles are incredible. The bread is fresh and everything is made with TLC. Come see for yourself!

Yelp
Every time I stop by LAX I go to this place and the beach close by. I've been coming to this restaurant for years since they've opened and I haven't been disappointed. This is a cute french style cafe/restaurant in Playa Del Rey. You can't go wrong with any of the food or drinks here. I've enjoyed everything I've ordered. The quality of the food and the flavors are great! The interior is cute, yet fresh and modern. Also, I never see this place packed, but that may be because of the parking situation. The parking lot is hiding in the corner of an intersection and it is hard to get in and out of. There are barely any parking spots in the lot which is shared with other businesses. I'd say that parking is the biggest con for this place, but the experience still makes it worth it. No complaints about the service. The staff members are courteous and helpful. The wait times for food can take a while though, depending on the order.

Perla O.

Yelp
This is the perfect spot to relax and catch up over breakfast! I had the open-face avocado, bacon, and fried egg croissant--absolutely delicious! Paired it with a cold chai latte, which was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. You just order at the register, grab a seat, and they'll bring everything right to your table. The lady at the register was so warm and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Prices are fair for the quality--definitely worth it!

Yelp
To be fair we haven't tried anything besides their crossiant and coffee yet. We however really enjoyed our morning hangout here. Their coffee, butter and chocolate crossiants were good. I loved their ambience. It makes you want to go back. I can't wait to go back and have their crepes. Our friend from the group tried their strawberry crepe and really liked it. Parking is tricky and limited. We got lucky even though we went on Sunday morning.

Mike M.

Yelp
Wow! First time here. Decided to stop by en route to LAX for the long wknd. Got the steak and potato's meal. So tasty and just enough for lunch. Bravo to the chef for making those potato's perfectly crunchy. The sauce was amazing and steak was of good quality. I'll have to return again and try the crepes. They have many options. Service was super friendly. Pet friendly. Outside seating on the sidewalk available. Inside is airy modern and super inviting. The iced tea was on the cloudy side. I like my iced tea to be clearer but that's just me. Still gets 5 stars !!

Yelp
Cannot recommend their Latte or Crème Brûlée enough!!! Owner is incredibly nice and respectful, and the whole place is decorated beautifully

Yelp
Went to Café Bohème for what we hoped would be a nice breakfast, but it turned into a frustrating experience. My wife ordered eggs exactly how she likes them, but they came out overcooked. When we politely pointed this out, the staff decided to argue instead of simply fixing the issue. Apparently, they believe they know better than the paying customer. Instead of a solution, we got attitude. If you enjoy being told you're wrong about your own food, this is the place for you. Otherwise, I'd suggest going somewhere that understands the basic principle of hospitality. They also use seed oils when cooking.

Brian V.

Yelp
On my latest visit, I came here for breakfast and some coffee. I got the hazelnut mocha and the croque monsieur with egg (or the croque madame effectively). I really felt the 'joie de vivre' in the vibe on this last trip. The person I ordered from I believe was French (maybe the owner?) but she was really sweet and helpful. You can tell the folks here love and believe in what they're serving. The croque madame was really well done and came with a side salad what was dressed in a light vinaigrette. The sandwich had some nice crispy ham and nice layer of cream(?) between the ham and the bread. The egg gave it some extra hardiness. I'm a fan and I'm looking forward to the next visit.

Yelp
Great place. comfortable and well decorated with excellent French oriented food. A lot of other types cuisine also available. This is Michelin type and best for quite a few miles around. Server Laycee great.

Allen M.

Yelp
This place is a joke. Food - it's just fine. BUT, it is expensive. Never paid so much for sandwich with a croissant you'd find at Costco. Coffee - very blah. They don't even have a real espresso machine nor do they have the staff to actually make a decent espresso drink. And, why is it always so hot inside?

Charles R.

Yelp
We went on a Saturday night for their French dinner. We were greeted and sat by very friendly staff. The warm lighting and charming decor was very inviting. The service was attentive but never overbearing. The highlight of course was the food. We started with their French onion soup and prosciutto & goat cheese toast. For the main course, we ordered the skin on seabass & ratatouille, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and 6oz steak frites which was cooked perfectly medium rare. Our server made a wine recommendation that paired perfectly with the meal. The flavors were rich but balanced. The creme brulée and caramel chocolate crunch for dessert were the ideal finish. It was a truly memorable meal and I would recommend giving this place a try next time you're in the area.

Yelp
Five of us came for a celebratory family dinner and really enjoyed our server Billy D's hospitality and knowledgeable menu guidance. We loved filet mignon, perfectly medium rare and flavorful, and potatoes gratin, beef bourgingnon, salmon fillet and ratatouille (larger cubes of veggies). Agave cocktails were delicious and the Reserve red blend lovely. Beautiful ambience!

Yelp
A friend and I went for lunch on a weekday. Ambience was great - beautiful bohemian decor and nice light music. There are multiple seating options - counter, booth, individual tables, indoor and outdoor and free parking lot. The staff was friendly. The food was ok. It was honestly average. I got the crepito with mushrooms and got soggy very quickly so it was a little messy to eat. The side salad was cute and kids meal size, so wish there was a little more portion wise offered. Definitely a great spot to grab a light meal and get some work done.

Meagan M.

Yelp
They have a very cute vibe typical of what you'd expect from a relaxed beach city cafe - hula skirt straw umbrellas out front, colorful tile at the bar, macrame and wooden light fixtures, tiled ceilings, and lots of natural light. They have both trendy indoor and outdoor seating, and my favorite part was the swinging chair in the back. They also have a small parking lot out front if you aren't able to find parking in the neighborhood. They use Jetty coffee roasters based in Los Angeles, and my oat milk latte was very smooth. The staff was friendly and handled the rush well.

Geoff S.

Yelp
Unfortunately a massive swing and a miss here. Was truly looking forward to having a new restaurant in the neighborhood that might become a staple, but instead we are leaving our dinner extremely disappointed. Items we tried: Wine A skimpy pour in a giant glass, but at least it was chilled properly. Also wasn't ever offered another glass, but that was for the best. Hummus + Crudite This is a tiny dollop of hummus, along with a sprinkling of diced cucumber and maybe 3 diced cherry tomatoes. Garlic "Prawns" 4 normal shrimp in butter with some diced garlic. Could not be more underwhelming. French Onion Soup Completely un-caramelized onions in some beef broth with a bit of cheese. -- From top to bottom, the food felt like someone had read the ingredients of French food and tried to make it, but didn't understand any of the technique. Pricing is way too high for what the portions and quality delivered are. Ambiance is fine. Service, we were waiting on our check for at least 20 minutes after stacking our own plates and trying to flag down a , with only 12 people total in the restaurant. -- Final thoughts: Girlfriend is feeling sick already. Definitely won't come back. Bummer.

Alona L.

Yelp
The place is not super noticeable from the outside but is very cute inside. I went in for lunch today and got a galette and a French onion soup. The food was very bland, even French onion soup had some very weird consistency. The bread was melted and mushed as if it had been sitting there forever. I would say it was the worse French onion soup I tried (I have been to France many times, including different regions and I know what I am talking about). Also both soup and galette came out at the same time. By the time I finished my soup, the galette was too cold. I noticed they are now open for dinner but it is a place with self check-out where you order at the counter and then grab any seat you want. Not sure if the same goes towards dinner service but I would prefer not to pay at the counter. I was really hoping this place would be amazing since we don't have a lot of good places in the area where you can walk to.

J S.

Yelp
This is the perfect local spot. Coffee, pastries, and brunch are delicious. Dinner is also really relaxing, with great service and portions that are not out of control. My parents always enjoy it when they are in town as well.

Andreas K.

Yelp
After dropping off someone at the airport early in the morning, I needed a coffee and mini breakfast. The Café Boehme was perfect, not only was it already open, but it offered a delicious coffee and super-fresh croissants! And literally just around the corner from LAX.

Cheryl B.

Yelp
I have been here 6 times in the last few months and the food is always excellent. Sweet young ladies giving great service and the French music is a lovely touch. I will be back when I'm in the area. The place deserves 5 stars.

Jerry W.

Yelp
Carter Service has been around the community for years. We have used their service for our home and rental properties. They are on time, give notice of the person coming and get the job done. We have never been disappointed. AC service, kitchen, and laundry appliances.

Ann N.

Yelp
This place is so good!!!! I stop here on my way to beach volleyball to get my cold brew (substitute for my iced coffee). Last month I decided to get some croissants too to bring home and omg soooo delish! So now I also have to get croissants every time. Everyone who I have shared them with say that they are the best they've ever had. Looking forward to trying other things eventually but really like this little gem I found. And the staff has been really nice too each time. :)

Brenda R.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times - for breakfast and dinner - and both were really pleasant experiences. The cafe decor is super cute and the food is delicious. Their coffees are also really good! Service was prompt and we didn't wait long for our food. Totally recommend for a nice time out :)

Darling Darla R.

Yelp
It's a great little neighborhood cafe. Food is good. Fun place to meet with friends, except EVERYTIME we go there, at least 4 tables are taken up by a single person on their laptop, taking up an entire booth, like it's their place of business. Sheesh! So then we have to wait for the real customers, the ones who are actually buying food and eating there, to finish their meal so that we (other paying customers) can have a place to sit. Very annoying!!! (The 3 star rating is only because of the seating situation)

Markie S.

Yelp
Coffee and food is good but food is over priced. every time I buy fresh juice they taste off. I realized today this is why. They sell 3 week old fresh pressed juice. I bought this today and gave my 2 year old some. So disappointed. Juice made 9/16 bought today it's 10/08. Puke. If my daughter gets a stomach ache I'm going to be pissed.

Carolyne C.

Yelp
Ordered a filet and pretty sure they use meat glue. Was disappointed with my meal and grossed out, stopped in another occasion and the waiter wouldn't let me buy a green juice. Got stalked by a drone the third time I stopped by. Unpleasant experiences, poor quality food and staff, don't waste your time.

Terre R.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service staff were friendly. We would go there again. It was a straight forward lunch cafe. Breakfast was the best.

Chai L.

Yelp
We had the steak auc poivre. It was tender and delicious The red wine was excellent. A lovely surprise!

TV S.

Yelp
Was hoping to discover a new Playa diamond in the rough. - 4 star service, staff was attentive, engaging - 4 star ambiance, clean, cute - 3 star food. Starters were a mixed bag (although octopus was excellent); didn't care for duck entree nor bourguignon Price was reasonable, French wines were nice.

Erin G.

Yelp
Egg croissant was delicious. I wanted breakfast potatoes as well but they were sold out of all the sides. Will be back.

Yasmeen M.

Yelp
NO WAIT FOR DINNER IN LA!!!!! This is a HIDDEN GEM. I honestly didn't want to post this because I never have to wait and feel like royalty having the place to myself but I don't want them to go out of business so here I am. I've had the chicken, filet, sea bass and salmon. All great but my favorite was the filet. It's a small portion but SO TASTY and the sauce is so good. I prefer small portions so it's great for me. The Potato Gratin is HUGE however and was SO DELICIOUS. The lavender basil crème brûlée is divine. Highly recommend checking this place out. They are also a cafe and more well known as a cafe in the morning. I've been here for breakfast and lunch which is busier but if you're looking for a last minute delicious dinner and don't want to wait an hour or forgot to make reservations this is a great one to keep in your back pocket. GREAT date spot. Good for conversation.

Susie D.

Yelp
A cute spot on a busy street, it's a shame that it's a bit hard to get to. The pastries were alright, a lot of prepackaged goods, but I ordered the wrong drink. It was too heavy on the syrup, making the sweetness overpowering and the matcha hidden. Pretty decor, and I wish it wasn't so overcast because I heard the planes through the clouds and would've liked to see them. It'd be a lovely place to have a drink and watch the planes!

Barbara Knipple B.

Yelp
As soon as we stepped in we felt like we were in France: the music, the decor, and the welcome. The food and drink was delicious: Quiche Lorraine, omelette, light salad, Carmel latte, and coffee. So glad we found this gem close to home.

Linda H.

Yelp
I've been here for breakfast and just came here for happy hour! Amazing drink, food and customer service. I will definitely be back.

Brittany H.

Yelp
A cute little corner cafe! I ordered a croque monsieur, a banana strawberry Nutella crepe, and a house drip coffee. The béchamel sauce on the croque monsieur was plain but tasty, it kind of reminded me of the taste of mashed potatoes but with the consistency of gravy. The ham was thin and savory - it wasn't gamey in taste and was topped with plenty of cheese! The cheese was Swiss and Brie Mon Sire. I do wish it was broiled so that the cheese would get that golden brown crisp and the baguette would get crispy. I do think it would have tasted better that way, but it was still really good. The Nutella crepe didn't have much Nutella in it, there wasn't one bite that had a good amount of Nutella in it because it was spread as thin as possible. It did have strawberries and banana in every bite though. The house drip coffee was nice and strong. I'd eat here again! Overall, their food was good and their staff was friendly. They had a lot of grab and go breakfast foods as well. I would recommend to try it.

Samar A.

Yelp
The place is very cute and nice, but I prefer going there for breakfast! We had dinner here once, very small portions and overpriced! Even 3 dishes from their dinner menu would not be enough for 2 people! I think even the breakfast and coffee is a little expensive to compare with neighborhood cafes around! But the taste of the food and drinks are really good! Just if they could adjust the prices and having better options on the menu could make it to one of the best Cafes in PDR!

Ashley J.

Yelp
2 stars is fairly low and my main reason for this is because of the Cleanliness factor, as well as the drinks being ok. Food was good but when a place openly has a disregard for being clean it makes me worried overall and about what the kitchen is like. Both times I've been in here, there has been crumbs and even egg pieces all over the floor, under the tables and beside the tables, crumbs on the seat cushions, which I cleared out myself, table covered in crumbs and at one point a cushion fell out of one of the booths and no one bothered to pick it up! They walked by and just ignored it, so bizarre. The second time I went in, same thing with the crumbs but I leaned towards the table and unexpectedly got a nasty smell. The table must not have been cleaned or cleaned with just water or idk what the deal is but it smelled stale and unpleasant - not what you want when you're sitting down to enjoy a meal. As much as I like the aesthetic in this place, and the french music, and the selection of foods/drinks, I'm so turned off by their lack of care to keep it clean and I can't give them more stars until I see that area improved. It wasn't busy at all either of the times, wiping tables and sweeping are basic necessities and ensuring the cushions are clean doesn't take much either. There were workers (and I think even the owner seemed like) sitting around and available to take care of such things. I think it's a general laziness or complete disregard. They are all very nice, the breakfast dishes we got were good, not outstanding but yummy. The drinks have been ok. The chai just tastes like a sweet syrup with a strange not good mapley taste - no spices and not chai at all. Haven't tried the pastries but they do look good. The bathroom actually was clean. Wish they cared more about keeping the seating area clean, as well.

Sara S.

Yelp
Staff messed up my order and served me with a ham omelette when I asked for vegetarian one. When we went to ask if they were making my order, they weren't sure and waited really long. Omelette wasn't very good, don't recommend coming to this spot for food. Drinks were fine.

Kristal C.

Yelp
First time and it has a nice ambiance but maybe that's to cover up the basic food that takes way too long. Waited 30 minutes for my order. I don't understand how this sandwich could take that long when it was empty when I walked in. Saw the cook and he seemed to be going at his own SLOW pace. And my iced hazelnut latte was just milk on ice.

Kim C.

Yelp
I've come here for breakfast/coffee on the way to the beach and also for happy hour. Happy hour is a great deal (every day too even weekends!) and the portions are actually kinda generous..! I'm surprised they have so many lower star reviews but I mean... that way I never have to wait for a table yay LOL

Alexandra A.

Yelp
This place is walking distance for me and had it for the first time today and I love the location, you see and hear the planes take off and I personally enjoy that. The place is spacious, well kept & the staff is friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, up to their hot sauce you ask for on the side, had the perfect spice without being way too hot. I will be trying to place again

Angella G.

Yelp
The cafe has a very cute aesthetic, but I wouldn't come back here for anything more than their pastries and coffee. We first came for a loaf of bread and coffee a few months back - when we walked in we saw how pleasant the place was and we decided to try breakfast. For 2 omelets with potatoes, 2 lattes and 1 sourdough baguette, we paid over $60. I think the omelets were upwards of $17 and for potatoes in the side it was an additional $4, maybe $5? We also left a tip, but unfortunately we were not attended to except when our food came. I had to get up and grab my own to-go box, which I'm not sure if I was allowed in that area. At first, the price looked like a lot, but I wanted to see what the food and drinks looked like. Of course, it was delicious but not worth the money. I want to support small local restaurants but it's just so insane to charge that much for little amount of food and poor service. With that said, we'd be back for just coffees and pastries, but anything more I can't justify the price.

Steve W.

Yelp
A lovely spot for breakfast. I enjoyed a breakfast croissant with Gruyère, bacon and avocado and my partner had a tasty quiche with salad. We both sipped on food hearty coffee. The neighborhood, laid back feel and spacious seating make it inviting. We'll worth checking out.

Adam F.

Yelp
It is amazing for locals on this side of Playa Del Rey to have fresh croissants daily and coffee. This business has worked really hard to stay open since arriving shortly after the pandemic and has great food, friendly young staff and atmosphere. They make a mistake with an order here or there sometimes, but it's not a big deal and my partner and I love walking down here for some baked goods and coffee and appreciate everything the spot offers.
