"Cafe Brazil serves up some of the baked goods you’d find in a traditional Brazilian padaria, or bakery. Get the chicken coxinha with catupiry (a spreadable cream cheese), a cheese or beef pastel (a deep-fried hand pie), half a dozen pão de queijo, and a cup of fresh-squeezed orange juice for the best low-key lunch of your week." - Lala Thaddeus, Terrence Doyle

"This Brazilian bakery has a number of savory snacks and sweet treats. Try risole (croquettes filled with either corn and cheese, ground beef, or chicken) for a snack, and passionfruit mousse for a treat. Padaria Brazil Bakery is open for takeout and delivery." - Karen Wilber

Google
Typical Brazilian bakery experience with a solid selection of savory pastries. Stopped by a couple of times for light meals and found their mix of sweet and savory pastries to be quite good: Rissoles and Vanilla Donut. The Rissoles, which are essentially Brazilian empanadas, were particularly good—crispy yet soft, reminiscent of croquettes. Despite not being made fresh and kept warm in the display, both the ham and cheese, and meat rissoles were enjoyable. On the other hand, the Chicken Skewer and Chicken Empanadas were dry and less appealing. With numerous Brazilian pastry shops around the GBA, I'm not certain if Cafe Brazil stands out as a top option. Still, I would probably return for the Rissoles.

Google
The only Brazilian bakery in the area, great to find traditional sweets, pastries, drinks… Attendants are always nice and helpful, place is usually clean and can be crowded at times. Food is always a bet: sometimes you’ll find delicious and fresh options, that you can see and taste it’s freshness and quality. Most of the time tho, you can tell food haven’t been baked or prepared recently, and quality is questionable.

I love the mini cheese bread! They are very tasty and is only $0.6 per piece. The chicken sandwich was also great, with house made bun and lightly fried chicken - not too greasy. Would definitely visit again. FYI - the staffs here barely speak English, but they are willing to communicate. Gotta be patient with that!

Google
A gem hidden in plain sight on Harvard Ave, they have a great array of Brazilian bakery classics. The coxinha are to die for, they nail each component. The baked goods show great finesse, they have an excellent texture and a reserved judgment about flavor. Goes excellent with coffee! The space is a nice little nook from the busy street and the staff is pleasant and extremely accommodating. You might have some trouble if you only know English, but that said, the staff will take the time to figure out how to help you. Definitely one of my favorite places!

The bakery offers a cozy atmosphere, and the focus on delivering great-tasting cheese bread makes it a must-visit for those craving a delicious and authentic experience.

Never had Brazilian food before. But this tasted awesome. Got the churros and cheese bread. Definitely coming back for more! All the baked goods I ordered were nice and warm

Google
I was intrigued to see a Brazilian bakery when looking for a place for dessert after lunch in Allston. I love a good pao de queijo so I decided to give it a try. They have a pretty wide selection of pastries and breads, though there were no prices listed so I had to ask for the prices. The pao de queijo were 50 cents each, so I got 6. I also got a chicken sfiha and a guava turnover. The pao de queijo (50c/ea) were pretty good, and definitely a reasonable price. They are pretty small and irregular in size/shape. They were a bit stale and hard/dry, but were revived pretty well in an air fryer at home. They had a good subtle cheese flavor and had a lot of holes inside. Assuming they do make them daily, I think they probably taste great if you go early in the morning. Overall I would probably consider getting them again when I'm in the area. Not the best I've had, but it's hard to beat 50 cents. The chicken sfiha ($5.65) was quite substantial with a thick bread layer and a dense chicken filling. I liked the flavor of the chicken -- there was a strong garlic flavor and it was nicely savory. It was all a bit dry and dense but filling and well-flavored. The guava turnover ($3.90) was basically a strip of guava jam inside of puff pastry with some sweet crackly stuff on top. This was also pretty good reheated in the air fryer. My friend also got a guava turnover that had very little jam, so it may be inconsistent. Overall I enjoyed trying a variety of their pastries. Nothing was amazing but everything was solid and the pao de queijo were especially good value. I'm glad I tried this place and will certainly keep it in mind for future Allston visits!

Google
This is my go to place everyday for breakfast. They literally do not miss! Every one of my friends I take here, whether they are Brazilian, American, or from anywhere else, absolutely loves the food and service. Not only is this my daily breakfast spot, but for every get together you can count the hours on Cafe Brasil Bakery to provide the most delicious savory and sweet bites. Absolutely love this bakery.

Yelp
We're so glad this place made it through, it's another hidden gem. Everything we get here (even at 5:30 PM, like now) is very satisfying. Highlights from today include: Coxhina (a croquette but with yucca, I think-one of my faves) Pao de quejo (is it dough? Is it cheese? Delicious) Sausage pastry (tons of meat) Beef Sfija - savory (cumin-y?) Surprisingly for the hour everything was actually somewhat warm too, and tasting quite fresh. Yay! Want to try the sweets soon!

Yelp
Some random chicken filled pastry I got there was absolutely delicious. Will try some more stuff that I couldn't even pronounce the names of. Also the staff working there were super attentive and warm!

Yelp
I was very excited that a Brazilian bakery and cafe were so close by, as I have been craving Brazilian cheese bread (AKA Pao de Queijo). I was kind of disappointed by this place because the food was all very salty and didn't feel freshly made. Pao de Queijo - sadly, these were not what I was looking for. They weren't served warm, which is what I was really hoping for because the consistency of the cheese wasn't as soft as I like it to be. Overall, these fell flat for me. Chicken Coxinha - Even though this item was warm, the dough was very hard to bite into. I thought the chicken inside tasted alright, even though it was a bit salty. Ham and cheese Sfirra - This was probably the best item I ordered. The cheese was nice and melted, and it was served warm. Again, very salty, but I tend to like salty foods.

Yelp
So if you're up in Massachusetts And you can't deal with sh** and might lose it You should really just chill Come to Cafe Brasil And then after we'll go home and do sex If the top half of your girlie underwear is feeling poorly, then your Bra's ill. This is an adorable little Brazilian Bakery which I checked out on a couple of occasions now and they make nice Pao De Queijo and other Brazilian Delights like Coxinha. I highly recommend them for all your delicious Brazilian Bakery needs. The woman working here is so adorable as well. Extremely friendly as well with excellent customer service. Not to mention they are absolutely dirt cheap. My other review: This is a lovely little Bakery with really friendly people and the woman working here was really really super nice. I thoroughly enjoyed the warm gooey Pao De Queijo that I bought here and will definitely return. There are a number of bakeries by this name around the region so I guess it might be a chain but this is my favourite so far. This lovely little Brazilian Bakery has excellent PDQ which are the little gooey hot cheese breads and I love that they serve them warm to me. The girl who gave me them was a total sweetheart and seemed to really like me. Friendly people and good products, so definitely a five-star location of this Bakery. Also known as the Padaria Brasil. If you're going to wear a Period Pad, then make sure the Pad Area is the right area, I guess.

Yelp
Great cafe with delicious and unique pastries. Order online options as well for food and drinks (smoothies, lattes, etc)

Yelp
Enjoyed visiting Cafe Brazil. Friendly service, great coffee and the food was tasty. I've wanted to try Brazilian cheese bread for a while...it was excellent. Also, the ham and cheese filled pastry was very good. I might go back later for dessert or a sandwich.

Yelp
I bought a beef kibe quibe and it seems to me that the inside is undercooked? I honestly don't even know if this is what the kibe's supposed to look like but it tasted somewhat raw to me..

Lydaris F.

Yelp
The food was alright, definitely had better from other Padarias. My husband is from Brasil and we've tried a lot of Padarias in Massachusetts looking for the best Coxinhas, pão de queijo, Xtodos and other Brasillian food. This place has the BEST PÃO DE QUIEJO- even though it wasn't warm, the consistency was perfect and taste was superb. I will definitely reheat the leftovers to have with coffee in the morning. NOW: __________ BEST COXINHA- Miranda Breads 358 Washington Street Stoughton, MA 02072 BEST XTODOS- Pastelaria Vitoria Broadway 192 Broadway Somerville, MA 02145 BEST FOOD (More than Street Food) Minas Café 1241Washington Street Norwood, MA 02062 If any fellow Yelp reviewer/ Brasillian Foodie has any suggestions to replace my list components please let me know ! Still searching to see if there's something better

Yelp
Quaint little bakery near Allston. Make sure you do a bit of research before reaching the counter because for whatever reason, they don't display a menu. Unless you are a fan of the point-and-ask, I would figure out what the basic Brazilian bakery bites are and, based on the flavor profiles, what you might be a fan of. Their pao de queijo is absolutely phenomenal AND comes in both grande and pequeno sizes. Prices are relatively reasonable for pastries but the smoothies, in particular the Acai one, are ridiculously priced at $9+ a cup! So, I suggest you stick to a plain coffee if you need a beverage here. I highly recommend the stuffed chicken grande pao de queijo and make sure to order more than one - you'll need one for the road. My only real criticisms remain in the staff's ability to crowd control and the cleanliness of the place. Not a huge deal, but some customers do just leave their trash on the tables instead of cleaning it up, so you might have to do some recon work in order to snag a table. The staff is also super busy, so they might be simultaneously on the phone while attempting to take your order, causing a line to snake down the middle of the store. Not a huge deal, but it may be difficult if you're not familiar with Brazilian pastry items.

Yelp
This is a wonderful local bakery that carries authentic Brazilian treats!! Don't be shy to ask what some things are but here are some tips as to what to order: - cheese bread balls called Pão de Queijo or PDQ (they can give you as many of them as you want in a bag, and they are super cheap, and I think they are gluten free because most recipes online call for tapioca flour) - acai!!! its super good and not overly sweetened - any of their pastries with meat (i'm a vegetarian but i know everyone else loves them) - the cakes there are also super yummy and not too sweet - orange juice!! it's fresh and they give you a big cup full without ice so you are definitely getting moneys worth

Jose B.

Yelp
I'd say they do a pretty good job they serve good coffee have good Brazilian pastries and fritters make sandwiches and smoothies have a lot of stuff for such a small space and tje local Brazilians are always in there so it must be appealing to them as well. One thing tje soups are super salty you can maje two of tjem if you take them home and add water.

Yelp
This was a nice little spot! There are tables but I just took my pastry to go. I was not sure what anything was, but it all looked good and I was not disappointed. Make sure to check in on Yelp for 15% off!

Yelp
Because I loved the experience first time I was here, I went again, about two months later. I still remember it pretty vividly since it was very bizarre. I was in a line and somewhat in a hurry to get to somewhere. I was craving something fried and oily, so I still waited in line. One of the two girls working behind the display (one of them described below was onto something, wrapping/cooking whatever) was "supposed" to take my order, but she started playing with a customer/friend's baby, offering him food while she clearly knew I was there, waiting for her. I stood there awkwardly for full ten minutes or so, and it was just puzzling to me. I tried to call her attention to me, and it was pretty clear that all the people in the shop knew I was waiting. Since I hadn't seen an Asian customer there (and this was just after the first COVID-19 outbreaks in the States), it occurred to me that this might be racist? or just bad customer service? I left after waiting, without ordering anything. I haven't been back since and don't plan to. I'm going to keep the positive review down below to show that I'm not biased in any sense, and that you've driven away someone who could've been a loyal customer.

Yelp
Fresh food and i loved the Brazilian cheese bread It was my first time Also they speaking English

Yelp
RAISE. THE. ROOF. GOOD!!! Honestly, if I lived in the area, I'd be hitting this place up at least three times a week! I was introduced to pao de quiejo by a Brazilian friend of mine, who would make it from scratch for us! I've never been able to find a shop that sold it fresh outta the oven, it's always been frozen packages. We were super pleased when we stumbled upon this little bakery; the owner was so friendly, the shop so fragrant, and the food SO delicious! We tried their panini (with fried egg,) assortment of fried balls (? too many different names lol,) and the pao de quiejo. Every bite felt like heaven on earth - we definitely recommend this place! We will definitely be coming back any time we are around Boston 100%!

Jennifer d.

Yelp
I went there while I was visiting Boston. The server was very attentive with our order and she even helped us out with some touring spots. We ordered a him and cheese with egg sandwich and pão de queijo. We also tried their passion fruit mousse which is absolutely amazing

Caleb S.

Yelp
The baked goods and the coffee are sooo good. I highly recommend the chocolate and guava brigadeiro. And If you like strong coffee, you have to try one of their espresso drinks. I also highly recommend the Pilão coffee to brew at home

Tammy S.

Yelp
We wanted some naughty fried comfort food and this place did not disappoint! Everything was delicious! Holy corn dog! If you are craving fair food, this place is money. We had beef and cheese fried dough, chicken and cheese croquettes and for dessert stuffed churros. Ahhhmazing!

Ashraf S.

Yelp
I asked if they make fried dough she didn't understand I bought dough with cheese. It was horrible.

Katherine N.

Yelp
Great size and quality snacks/pastries. Customer service was great! Neighborhood gem. Definitely recommend the croquettes and turnovers!

Rafael C.

Yelp
Every time I go to this bakery there's no bread I asked what was going on because every time I go there there's no bread . the only thing I like there is they're bread the rest of the stuff is awful don't even spend your money in there go somewhere else ! anywhere else is better then over there

Tehi G.

Yelp
I was craving salgados and Rosky suggested we stop by here and get a few snacks. Said they have have good food. I can only comment on their "snack"-type food because I didn't try anything else but it was a good choice. Brazilian bakeries tend to be sort of hit-or-miss but this place deffo got it right. We had "coxinhas" /croquettes, with chicken, as well as chicken and cream cheese. We also got some kibbe which definitely has a middle eastern taste to it. I also recommend their "bolinho de manjocca com carne" and chicken skewers. I got a rice pudding too -sans cinnamon, thank goodness- and it was was delicious.

Emily G.

Yelp
I run in to grab something on my way to work. Everything I've gotten has been amazing, but coxhinhas are still my favorite

Rose G.

Yelp
Great service, fast, and super yummy! Loved their sweet and their savory bakery items. I'll be going back to try more ASAP!

Paul T.

Yelp
Man every single thing we tried was phenomenal. The pig in a blanket was the best I've ever had. The cheese bread was obviously on point. And the deserts? Amazing. Please give this place your business!

Liang Wei W.

Yelp
A guest brought pão de queijo from Cafe Brazil to our Thanksgiving dinner and it was the most delicious cheese bread I have ever had! It was light and airy, and not greasy at all. When I gave it a brief toast in the oven, the roll was cheesy and crispy. Too addictive!

Fernando P.

Yelp
The owner will publicly talk bad about his American customers in Portuguese. A very mean man who is not only rude to his customers but is terrible to his hard working employees too. I saw the food being dropped and picked up to serve when the paying customer wasn't looking. Do not go here!!

Murilo T.

Yelp
Great place, nice food and their staff were very helpful explaining all the options they have (its a lot!!)... Highly recommend!!

Erica C.

Yelp
I love this place! Great place to have a cheese bread and a Brazilian coffee. They have many delicious Brazilian pastries made fresh and worth the money. A little rush is expected in the morning but the line moves very quickly. The Staffs are very friendly.
