Perfect beginning to the second leg of my family reunion weekend. Picked up my high school friend from church and she said she knew the perfect place. She’s been living in town 24 years so I knew she’d get us right. She knows people! A very busy place and then it calmed. I ordered the chorizo breakfast tacos and my friend ordered El Gordo. The service top notch and with a warm smile. The restaurant smelled so good when we walked in and NO the food didn’t disappoint. The tacos were perfect and I didn’t have to ask if the salsa was hot 🥵 I just knew house made and freshly made! Lots of parking and not a long wait either.

Google
We were really impressed with the food. I got to try chilaquiles for the first time and it was delicious. Way too much good to eat! The kids were happy with their strawberry pancakes and candy bar pancakes. My husband loved his classic American spin on hash browns and eggs! They have several locations. We came to the University Park location. Lots of parking in a parking lot.

Google
Brought a friend here to try out this location. I had the Chicken, Bacon, & Waffles. Highly recommend! (Ate it too fast, sorry no pics!) Friend had a spinach omelet. They said it was good. Love the self serve coffee bar, they had 5 flavors going (Little less than a couple other locations I have visited). Still had the favorites up & running. Definitely come through, enjoy the free wifi & good food!

Google
this place shook my world up…….. everything was so good I that I was disappointed when I got full and had to stop eating. I got the beautiful delicious banana bread french toast and one of the hash brown bowl things with jalapeños chicken and chorizo. I also got a chai latte that was so so so delicious and perfectly spiced which is hard to come by. It was quiet and chill when we went and had a great time and enjoyed those leftovers a few hours later at home 😭 the waitress was sweet and helpful and I definitely am excited to go back! Portion sizes are generous also.

Google
As soon as we walked in the restaurant has a friendly and welcoming environment. We had an omelet and pancakes, our service was excellent !! The omelet was delicious and it was complimented perfectly with the breakfast potatoes. The pancakes were awesome they were large and thick and very tasty. We also ordered some bacon. There is a very good selection of coffee, you can actually get up and pour yourself more coffee and select from a few flavors. I recommend a visit for breakfast !!

Google
The sign outside says "Fast and Friendly," and it's 100% true. We met Ricardo, who was awesome and super friendly, making our experience even better. The coffee was excellent, and the food was delicious. The cozy atmosphere is perfect for studying or catching up with friends. Despite being a bit crowded, the service was quick and efficient. We'll definitely come back!

Google
Yes, this is a Dallas staple. No, this is not a bougie brunch spot. CB is more like a New England diner than anything. I've been a customer for 30+ years. 17 year old me lived for this place on weekends. The food is consistently good. The service is always amazing. Shout out to Felix! Seriously, I love Cafe Brazil.

Google
Chorizo rolls were delicious. Customer service was excellent. Nice atmosphere. Prices were reasonable. Chatted with a few other customers who were regulars. I was told every item on the menu was great. Will definitely visit again

Yelp
We visited this location after a concert one night. Our usual spot is in Richardson. Here is my Ode to Café Brazil: Every dish is delicious. Your amazing coffee is bottomless. I love trying new brew flavors. The dessert is stupid good. My love for you never wavers. It's like being welcomed in by family. The decor is sublime. In the words of the great Terminator, "I'll be back" again someday.

Yelp
At Café Brazil no one's pretending and maybe that's why it works. You walk in and nothing about the place screams "exceptional." The tables are too close. The lighting is uneven. Half the people look like they just woke up the other half like they never went to sleep. Still the restaurant stays full. For good reason. The chicken and waffles are the anchor. No bells. No reinvention. Just hot well-seasoned fried chicken on a waffle that doesn't collapse under syrup. It's not flashy but it's consistently better than it has to be. Same goes for the rest of the menu. Breakfast tacos. Crepes. Chilaquiles. They all land somewhere between good and better than you expected. Service is fast when it can be slow when it's busy and never overly interested in small talk. You order. They bring it. You eat. The coffee bar is still self-serve still a little chaotic but it gets the job done especially if you know which urn to avoid. The whole place feels like it's been grandfathered into the modern Dallas dining scene. While other spots are announcing soft launches and forcing you to book brunch like it's a concert Café Brazil just opens its doors and feeds people. That's it. If you want sleek interiors curated playlists or ten dollar sparkling waters look elsewhere. But if you want a full plate strong coffee and a table that turns over quick this is the spot.

Yelp
Stopped in here today for lunch- my first time. My dad has been coming here for years and is one of his spots. It definitely is giving hippie vibes but I'm here for it. The self serve coffee station with a bunch of different types of coffee was cool. I ordered a chai on the rocks- yes that's really how it's listed in the menu- with oat milk. It was massive and delish. For my meal i ordered the cb chorizo empanada breakfast. The eggs needed to be seasoned and the empanada was not great. It was like a bread pocket not a normal empanada. I was sad for the texture to be like that. I will definitely come back and try more things but i wouldn't order that item again. Our waiter was friendly and attentive.

Yelp
I love everything about this place! Thankfully, we arrived just before the college rush! The restaurant is definitely nothing fancy... Our server was super friendly! We ordered both types of the migas and I headed to the coffee bar! This is my favorite thing here... just love sampling the different types and flavors of coffee. They even had 2 decafs!!! It didn't take long for our food to arrive. Fresh and delicious... quite filling! I chose not to eat the potatoes so I could finish everything else! Reasonably priced and just as good as when I lived here 20 years ago! It was fun to be back!

Yelp
This is my go to breakfast spot. Love the staff, all friendly and professional. The parking is great, even when busy. Food is always great and prices are reasonable.

Yelp
Poor service. staff indifferent to feed back. NO Tip and I will not be back. Do better.

Yelp
Had some late-night hours to burn in the neighborhood, and this place came to the rescue. Something light to eat and a lot of good coffee to sip on in a comfortable diner. Service is very friendly. I got the bottomless coffee, and that's a really neat setup with like a dozen options lined up, self-serve. We shared the fruit crepes (see pics, very tasty, served as a sort of snacky dessert), she got the carmel latte, in a nice-sized mug and decorative cream on top. Very nice visit!
google avatar

Yelp
Ricardo gave a 10 out of 10 service. He was on top of everything. Had water for us right when we sat down. Great attitude. Banana bread french toast and migas were the best. Food was fresh and quick.

Yelp
I called the restaurant and it went like this: CB: Cafe Brazil! Me: I was just checking to see if you're open today (New Years Day) CB: We're open! We're waiting for you! That's the kind of service we always get here! Prices are up and portions are down, that's true everywhere and you can't really fault the restaurant on that one. That said, the quality of the food has declined with the portion sizes. The pancrepes looked amazing but had the consistency of a thin egg omelette not a crepe and were kind of tough. The raspberry, creme, and nut topping saved them. The bacon is always perfect and this time was no exception. The pancakes weren't as light and fluffy as usual but they were still very good. Whether you're looking for a weekend breakfast or an after game or concert place to go, there is never a bad time to go for a quick bite or a good meal and conversation (and a great variety of coffees). Even when we've had to wait for a table, we've never had to wait for long.

Yelp
This morning, I got the snickers bar latte and the seasonal option of an autumn breakfast bowl. I would get these snickers bar latte again. I would note that if you're looking for something super sweet, this is not it, despite the name. For the breakfast bowl, it definitely was way spicier than I thought it would be. Whenever it says, sweet potato hash and veggies, I was not expecting the jalapeño, bell pepper, and onion mix with chunks of sweet potato. However, it was still pretty good. I would not get it again, though, especially if I was not wanting something spicy that day. Service was OK. She wasn't overly friendly or service oriented, but she did the minimum, which is fine by me. Ambience is typical care. Cute and basic with some CB flairs. If I came back, I would probably try one of their carb options like the cinnamon roll pancakes or waffles.

Yelp
Egg Sandwich and Sweet Potatoes This place has cute chill IHOP vibes. Got surprisingly busy on a Sunday morning. Kind of a strange gas/oil smell to the place. Chips and salsa were inedible imo. Egg sandwich was okay, nothing lifechanging. Sweet potatoes solid. I think my friends all enjoyed their food!

Yelp
Food was great. Will be back. First time coming and I must say the service and food ecxceeded my expectations

Yelp
The service has been going down for 2 years. I thought it was just my bad timing. Tonight around 6pm there were only 3 tables. Two of the seven coffees were empty. The backups were empty too. Then 4 more were stone cold. Those backups were empty. What the heck?!?!?! I asked her to brew a fresh one. 15min later, it was still sitting under the brewer. I put the top on myself. I was soooo excited to have a fresh hot cup. The coffee barely had any color, and an equal amount of flavor. Again, there were 2 servers serving 3 tables of 2. It was dead. The food however was very good as usual. Now I understand why the other locations have closed. I've been coming for 20+ years.
google avatar

Yelp
The service was perfect, it was a pretty cozy place to have breakfast at. The food was completely delicious even the hazelnut latte that's not pictured. We had a great time and will definitely be coming back to try more meals.

Santrecia M.

Yelp
Friendly staff. I was most disappointed in the temperature & description of the food. I ordered the classic breakfast (everything was cold) and my husband had the migas. His migas was a great temp. but his potatoes were not. Waitress was super slow. She blamed the kitchen for our food being late coming out but when she brought it EVERYTHING was cold to touch. I had to ask her to warm it. I was not offered a fresh replacement. She described the cinnamon roll pancakes as really sweet, they weren't. The eggs are described as farm fresh. When I think of farm fresh I think of eggs cracked open but clearly they were from a box or powered. Overall taste was ok. This was my first time visiting. I might visit again for their lunch menu. The lunch items looked and smelled great. I'll chalk this up to it being New Year's Day and they were short staffed and the waitress possibly being "newish" (I'm assuming). OAN, the drip coffee was perfect

Yelp
Here during my child's cheer competition and we decided to stop and eat close by our stay, and I was absolutely excited to eat only to get cold food, the French toast were horrible!! Tasted like frozen bit flavor! The fruit on top was tart and honestly just plain horrible. My daughter's waffles came dried and plain. No butter top, no syrup no nothing. Bland. I hate leaving reviews that are negative but truly disappointing. Not to mention took 30 min to get coffee and a hot chocolate. Don't recommend.

Shemeta F.

Yelp
Amazing service and food! This place was amazing and by far very quick and efficient with the servings. You will have leftovers.

Yelp
Got seated right away on Sunday around 1pm. The service wasn't the greatest. The food was good and flavorful. I'd eat here again but probably only as a to go order. Their menu is huge though and lots to choose from. The atmosphere is just a diner so don't expect too much.

Yelp
Quicky to-go breakfast today. Ran in and ordered from David (swell guy), the Mexican omelet, which is stuffed with Hispanic goodness. Ordered a coffee too, so he handed me a cup, and I pumped my own from a plethora of airpots with a variety of flavored coffees (not my scene). It was really close to almost being tepid, so I asked Mr. Dave to warm it up for me. He wisley utilized their espresso machine's steam wand to hot blast it...the world kept spinning! I'll come back to sample some other plates.
google avatar

Alex V.

Yelp
This is very crowded on a Saturday morning. It looks quaint from the outside with some tropical plants and painting on the bricks of parrots and such. Inside it's rather run-down from years of wear and has a quirky, grungy vibe. We went for the bottomless coffee which comes in maybe 10 varieties that rotate often. Sadly there were only two flavored varieties this time, but they were nice enough. Bathrooms only let in one person at a time, so be prepared to wait. And when it's as crowded on the weekend, it can be hard to get attention of waitstaff, although everyone seems nice enough. Overall, I wanted to like it, but it was just okay.

Yelp
....... CRITIC'S REVIEW ...... Would be a 4.5 star except for the service. Great food - definitely go! Just remember you might need to 'manage your waiter'. Large portions and the only place I've found with HOT maple syrup!!! Here is what I had: Pancakes Delicious and traditional southern style. Batter well blended soup they cook properly. I loved them. Bacon Medium thickness and cooked crispy without being burnt. Good flavor and a quality meat. Maple Syrup My favorite on pancakes - but only if it's hot! This is the only place I've found with hot syrup. They keep all the bottles in a hot water bath so it's evenly heated. It totally changes the experience!! YUM! Atmosphere: Simple but nice. Chairs are comfortable and the tables don't wabbel. Smells clean and of good food cooking. Staff I've been to 2 locations now and the staff is constantly inattentive. I know it's hard to get employees now - especially good ones who will work for little pay. They've been nice, but don't know how to wait on tables. I feel this is a management issue and why can't go higher than 3-stars overall. (Food is 4.5 star.) Yelp
Great service, good foods.we're having breakfast after 5K St. Paddy's run/walk. Luckily we got there in time before the rush.

Yelp
Very cool little diner. All I had was a bottomless cup of coffee--they have some unique flavors. I wish I had gotten something to eat, because the food looked good. A great late night option for you!
google avatar

Yelp
It was superbusy ( after SMU game) But Cafe Brazil on Central delivered exceptionally well. Plenty of hot coffee, water always topped off, quick from order-to-table, and exceptionally great service from Deanna. Sweet and smooth, she delivered like a pro at a Michelin restaurant. ( It was REALLY loud and chaotic) Special note: I noticed the crew behind the scenes worked exceptionally well as team. No I's on that crew. Management should give them a bonus! Deanna was the icing on top, just like cream cheese on that great carrot cake!

Yelp
Any chance I get to stop by this Cafe Brazil location I make the effort to. The variety of menu choices is unique and you can find something for everyone , even the pickiest of eaters. My go to is the Texas Feast but second is anything with their chorizo . My daughter ordered the Velvet cake and it was devoured in short order. Friendly staff and good prices. Come check out this place . Don't forget to try their variety of coffees.

Yelp
When I visit Dallas from Philadelphia I always find myself here for breakfast with my sister and her family. This is their spot and they land here every Sunday afternoon. If someone says, "brunch" then we are going to cafe Brazil. I've eaten here quite a few times for brunch/breakfast and have never been disappointed. I usually get the migas which is delicious but recently when I went I ordered the huevos rancheros and it was so good! The chorizo was perfect in it and the dish was so flavorful. My mom always gets the pancakes which are fluffy and good. This place fills up in the morning especially on the weekend but I understand why. Good flavors, nice variety of dishes and bottomless coffee.
google avatar

Melisa A.

Yelp
Always a staple... perfect to satisfy any craving. The menu is so large I don't know how the do it. I've always enjoyed the coffee bar, endless cups of joy. I get the frozen snickers coffee to go. Yummy!

Yelp
Cafe Brazil has become a regular brunch spot for us. We love that it's super casual (perfect for those lazy mornings you just want to stay in sweatpants or leggings!) & no frills. Food is good and what keeps us coming back. Its reminiscent of home style cooking or breakfast comfort foods. A few of our favorites are the Brazilian breakfast, Breakfast Relleno Crepes (my go-to), El Gordo Crepes, Migas, Pancakes, loaded cheese fries, and chorizo southwest egg rolls. Price is good & portions are huge - so come hungry! I also love the bottomless coffee bar. It's such a steal for $2-3. They rotate about 5 flavors every few weeks and it's always fun to taste test the different roasts. My favorite is the Snickerdoodle coffee. Coffee is strong & good. I took one star off for service. Service could be improved. There are times we have had to wait a really long time whether it is to be acknowledged by waiters or wait on check. We have had a few good waiters, but majority have been slow and non attentive.

Yelp
Working the big storm in Highland Park. Staff was very friendly, good was great and five coffees to choose from. Great end of a long night. Ty

Yelp
We were seated right away however, it took a long while for our food to arrive and others around us looked as though they were still waiting around. Our drinks were not refilled unless we flagged someone down. The place was half packed and food was decent. It was one of the only spots near our hotel still open after 11pm (when we finally arrived to the hotel).

Niyah M.

Yelp
the food was undercooked and the waitress took forever with our food . i would not recommend

Yelp
It smells so delicious in here! I love the crepes. Great location, easy to park. Shopping nearby at Mockingbird Station.

Yelp
Food is great. Service is terrible. Cafe Brazil has been and still is one of my favorite restaurants/cafes in all of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I've been to most of their locations and although I love Cafe Brazil, this location on the SMU East Campus is the most poorly operated, understaffed, and doesn't seem like their staff has enough training I am usually seated right away, then I wait for 20+ minutes just to order. Happens every time and I have to flag down my waitress for any needs/requests. Perhaps the franchise should take as much care and consideration toward their staff as they do their food.

Melissa S.

Yelp
Omg!!!! Thiis food was sooooo good! Ricardo was also super nice and funny! Great service-highly recommend

Aurelia T.

Yelp
I got a classic breakfast with French toast and hashbrowns and scrambled eggs. My hash brown did not taste right and had a hair in it. My French toast were not French toast. They were egg toast. highy recommended the one in oak cliff

Yelp
Today I experienced some of the worst service in my whole life ! Me and my husband ordered our food online ahead of time to take home and when we arrived all of the employees were on their phones scrolling through social media not greeting us or even paying attention ! We waited to speak with someone for 5 minutes at the cashier when I finally had to flag someone down to get out to go order . When they finally give it to us they only gave half of our food and gave us attitude when we asked for the rest of it. We had to sit and wait 10 minutes for our coffees and an extra 20 minutes for the rest of our food. The employees were very rude and unprofessional! We used to love going to cafe Brazil but after this will not be returning ! If I could give negative stars I would !

Yelp
Ah, the 24-hour cafe Brazil. It was a late night and we just finished watching a show at the nearby theater and were looking for a bite to eat. So we ventured to Cafe Brazil which was easy to find and plenty of parking. The only drawback to this location is that there are lots of tables and not enough room to move around. Basically the tables are amazed so you have to dance around tables and chairs to get from one side of the restaurant to the other. So if you are sitting a few tables away from the coffee well you're going to be dancing if you want another refill. The staff there is always wonderful, pretty casual and most of all friendly. The atmosphere well, nothing the right home about. It's just a diner. If you're there to get a bite to eat great or to get a cup of coffee great but we stopped in for coffee and cake which was wonderful. Would we go there again? Of course we will. In fact, we recommend any of the Cafe Brazil locations
google avatar

Melissa M.

Yelp
Honestly, so great! I got the pancakes with a side of potatoes. Simple, basic, but perfect! I love packed busy restaurants and being cramped in a tiny table,? It makes it feel homey to me. We only waited 3 minutes to be seated at a table on a busy Sunday brunch time! The service wasn't quick, but it was understandable and we weren't in a rush. We will come back when we want something economical!
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
The best pancakes I've had in Dallas! The service was even better. You can't go wrong with free coffee refills. It was a busy service, friendly staff, and the food looked good.

Yelp
So glad this place was open so late. On a recent trip to Dallas, we went to a show, and ended up not having time to grab dinner beforehand, so we were left to find somewhere AFTER (which was at least 9pm) that was still open. We found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a shot. Fairly small, and when we were there at least, very chill. Seemed a bit sketchy at first, but it was fine on the inside. It almost had more of a diner vibe, even though it wasn't necessarily diner food. The menu had a mix of breakfast foods and other simple items (most with a little tex-mex flare). I ended up with the tortilla soup. I was surprised that it was fairly flavorful. I did add a decent amount of salt though, but that's pretty normal for me. I also got a side of queso, which was also good. One of the ones with a bit of a deeper flavor to it. The only weird thing is that it didn't come with chips (and there weren't any complimentary with salsa either). My soup (or someone else's meal, I can't remember) did come with some garlic bread, so I just used that, haha! Overall not much to it and pretty simple, but was very convenient when we needed a super late dinner, and the food was good enough to do the trick.

Wayne W.

Yelp
I hate to give bad reviews but cafe Brazil just earned one. The decor is tired, the service is inconsistent, but the food is passable on some fronts. An earlier reviewer stayed that they serve real maple syrup... they do not. The substance vaguely looks like syrup but since the lable is scratched off I really couldn't identify any ingredients. My advice is go to Ihop.

Yelp
So good! Long wait but totally worth it. && Bottomless coffee bar Cappuccino and Macchiatos and Hot Chocolates are phenomenal

Yelp
Hangry review! At 2:18am this morning, i called the restaurant to place an order. Over the next20 minutes, my phone have me a "Sevor Error". I'm thinking maybe it's my phone. I restart. Same issue. I show up at restaurant and wait 5 minutes. No acknowledgement. I'm writing this review in the drive thru of McDonald's. Customer service can be improved. It's wasn't that busy, and they were about 3 to-go orders already done. 5 people were behind the counter. I'm confused. I really wanted that carrot cake!

Catherine C.

Yelp
I found Café Brazil when I was looking for a late night coffee shop with WiFi, as my internet at home was down and I had a grant application due. So off I went to relive my undergrad days of late night cramming with an endless supply of caffeine. I was immediately seated at a corner table with access to a power outlet (my bookbag must have given me away), and within 30 seconds, a server was asking for my drink order. I ultimately ordered a chai latte and some chips and salsa, both of which came promptly. The food and drink were solid and reasonably priced. My server was attentive without being overbearing and left me to my own devices, but I saw her checking in often on the other tables in my area who were not there for internet access. I'll definitely go back if I'm in need of another late night cram, as this suited my purposes perfectly. I'm hoping to try their real menu so I can comment on the food.

Alex A.

Yelp
The food was good like always but the service sucked. Our waiter we saw when we ordered then he never came back to the table until we called him back for to go boxes and he only brought one. Then he had to go back for another. It was early Monday morning and not a lot of people there so I am not sure why he was never around.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
Was maybe short staffed, waitress sat us down and didn't come back. We waited 20-25min and left. Maybe we can get a chance to try out another time
google avatar

Nicky A.

Yelp
This was my first time here because everybody had highly recommended this place to come and eat. They said it was a nice old-fashioned diner when I got here I ordered my food they had a nice menu. but when my food came, the food came all cold I had got eggs, potatoes, toast and an empanada. When I asked for my food to be heated, I looked at the chef and the chef got upset with me and decided to roll his eyes while eating his meal while cooking others meals.. I would not recommend this place for anyone to eat

Rickie S.

Yelp
I tried to give this place another chance. My usual breakfast spot was busy so I came here on a whim. I expected good things since it was so packed. Off bar the service was good and they sat us very quick for how many people were in line. I don't drink coffee but their self serve bar seems very good. The breakfast bowl was the dish that I chose myself and tried some of my significant others pancakes and honestly it was just not that good but I thought it was a one time thing. Came here with friends on another morning and ordered the empanadas and it was inedible. Coming from me this means a lot because I can eat just about anything even if it's bad. As much as I want to return don't think I want to waste money again.

Nina M.

Yelp
The service was good the waiters are very nice and the food come fast but the place does smell like old oil and the drinks taste funny the coffee is good but the lemonade taste dirty and the pop taste like toilet water I got the chicken and waffles the chicken was ok nothing special and the waffles taste a little raw in the middle I will say the bacon is great tho
