Café Brújula

Excellent coffee here, they offer triple shots to get you going. Very friendly baristas and very organized and clean. The pastries looked really delicious too. Great location and easy to find.

I ordered 4 mango smoothies over a course of a 10 day trip and the first smoothie I had was delicious, thick, icy frozen. After that first one they were all like mango milk, not icy or frozen. So for that the consistency was not good. The cafe has a great atmosphere and the staff are quite friendly.

From the moment you step inside, you're welcomed by the café’s charming aesthetic—pink walls, beautifully designed black-and-white tile floors (featuring their logo!), and the irresistible aroma of freshly brewed espresso and baked goods. The baristas at Café Brújula were incredibly kind and patient, even as I fumbled through my very limited Spanish. Their warmth made the experience even more enjoyable. I ordered a Dirty Chai paired with a Limón Galleta, while my friend opted for their Chocolate and Pistachio Croissant—both of which were absolutely delicious. We grabbed a high-top table and enjoyed our drinks while looking out over the bustling main square. The combination of great coffee, excellent pastries, and the vibrant atmosphere of Oaxaca made for a perfect café experience. If you find yourself in Centro Oaxaca, I highly recommend stopping by Café Brújula—it’s the perfect spot to relax, recharge, and soak in the city’s charm.

The cafe is opposite the church, a very beautiful location, the space is spacious and the drinks are delicious. There are many options for you both in terms of drinks and cakes.

Edit - adding the 5th star because the barista was nice and courteous. Great great coffee. They actually have a fantastic espresso machine - Victoria Arduino - hand pull. And what an espresso! The pastries are also muy delicioso. They have handmade chocolate, cookies, and carrot cake that flew off the shelves. My only gripe would be that the employees were not really cool. I mean, they were helpful and it’s not their job to spread kindness, but in all my travels I love the cafes where the people will chat. But no real big deal. The drinks and pastries were divine. And the location is perfect.

Second time at this location. The coffee is excellent and today we has muffins which are also excellent. Today the service was very good. Theresa’s English is bueno and she was so pleasant and helpful. Gracias.

The moka frappe is so good, great flavors. The best I've had in several months of living in Oaxaca. Service is excellent. The only downside is the 100 peso price, including lactose free milk.

Coffee & croissants were excellent! Coffee beans are a bit expensive.
