Nestled in a charming house, this spot serves vibrant Mayan-inspired Mexican fare that'll make your taste buds sing while you soak in the cozy vibe.
"Another place to eat very good seafood. Except, this time, the focus is on Mayan and Mexican specialties. The exterior of this casual restaurant looks like any old house on a quiet, mostly residential street, and the inside is just as homey. Sit on some mismatched furniture and eat the fish taco plate, which comes with a generous portion of red snapper that’s grilled rather than fried, Mayan fruit salsa, and a flavorful tomato-based Mexican fish chowder with vegetables, red snapper, and clams. (The banana leaf-wrapped cochinita pibil and thinly sliced, lime-marinated poc chuc are also excellent.) And if you’re dining with some humans you produced, you’ll appreciate the very affordable kids menu—most items cost between $3 and $6." - Gabi Moskowitz
