14 Can’t-Miss Bakeries in the Twin Cities

"Pastry chef Shawn McKenzie, who has run some of the Twin Cities’ finest pastry programs, recently garnered a James Beard nomination for her work at Café Cerés. Her chocolate zephyr cookies, made with rye flour, have a subtle malty bite; her pistachio croissants strike a perfect balance of airiness and nuttiness; and her pillowy Turkish bagels — a.k.a. simit — are lovely with a cool smear of labneh and za’atar. The lunch menu complements the pastry selection with Muffulettas, falafel bowls, and Turkish egg tartines drizzled with chili oil." - Justine Jones, Jon Cheng

I really want to love this place but both experiences I’ve had here have been a bit of a letdown. The Bacon, Egg, and Cheese sandwich is excellent but definitely on the pricey side for what you get. The coffee is quite good too. On my most recent visit, I had the iced Salted Maple Latte and really enjoyed it. I would be more inclined to overlook the premium prices if the customer service was up to par too but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case in my experience. The dining room was probably half empty when I walked in today so it definitely was not busy but I felt very ignored by the staff. No greeting from anyone when I walked in and then I stood up at the register for several minutes before anyone acknowledged me there. Not even a “we’ll be right with you” as I stood there and employees walked by. Once someone did come to the register, there was no “hey, how are you today?”, “Do you have any questions about the menu?” or a “sorry for the wait”. He basically just stood there waiting for me to initiate the conversation. What’s happened to basic customer service? Especially when you’re charging premium prices and then prompting me for a 22% tip. I’m sorry but a tip should be earned through excellent (or even slightly decent) service, it’s not just an automatic in my eyes. Also, despite an abundance of open tables inside, none of them appeared to be clean and no one was actively wiping them down. Hopefully today was just an ‘off’ day and next time will be better.

Google
Nice spot for a coffee and quick breakfast! The service was great, the staff were very friendly and nice. I also really loved the Dulce De Leche Latte I had, it was very delicious --- sweet without being too sweet, at least for me. The quiche I had was also excellent, great texture and flavors. The pistachio croissant I had was pretty good, nice pastry but I felt it could maybe use a little more pistachio filling. The space itself was nicely decorated and the large windows let in a lot of light, but I found that it felt a bit cramped. The flow particularly near the register and where the food and drinks came out was not ideal and a bit tight. This may be less of a problem on warmer days when the patio is open and there is more space. The patio looked lovely so I think that would be a great place to sit in the summer time. I think this place is definitely a good stop for coffee and breakfast if you're in the area! I will definitely return to try more of their delicious seasonal quiches and their flavored lattes.

Google
This place is bustling on weekends, but there’s plenty of seating, and the staff is very professional, and she will not have to wait very long. Don’t come here for cheap eats, as most pastry prices are high but well worth it. Coffee was comparable price to other shops in the area. Only chrome is at the Turkish coffee. It was a little steep and I have had butter elsewhere. Also the interior design is pretty cool!

Google
It can get a little crowded, I will warn you, but for good reason. The food was so yummy, and the coffee was perfect. If you go, I suggest you go early to order great food, and get a seat.

Google
Love the vibes here. It's a great place to work or hang out. The latte was good- a bit on the foamy side and not quite as flavorful as I was expecting.

Google
They have a super aesthetic space with tons of plants, light, and a patio with a few tables outside. There were quite a few food options from made to order sandwiches, grab and go sandwiches, and fresh pastries. The bacon egg and cheese sandwich was absolutely incredible and had the perfect ripeness avocado. The avocado toast was good too and was loaded with toppings and a soft boiled egg on one piece of bread. Everything had so many individual flavors, including the spiced vanilla latte which had real vanilla bean in it. The staff was really friendly and had the food out pretty quickly at lunch time. It was quiet inside with open tables to work or chat at. There was plenty of street parking for no hassle. Its a must try in this neighborhood!

Have been wanting to come to a Cafe Cerés for quite awhile. I was easily able to find free 2 hour street parking and was welcomed to a bright and airy space with lots of plants! We walked past an amazing pastry counter where we grabbed a pistachio and chocolate croissant and then ordered our food and drinks at the counter. I went with the avocado toast. It’s a bit pricier at $15, but the soft boiled egg, watermelon radish, and sunflower seed dukah on top of the homemade bread made it all worth it. I also tried the Ras El Hanout iced latte (date syrup + ginger + black pepper + spices) which was recommended by one of the baristas- so so good on a hot day. I also had a bite of the bacon egg and cheese and holy yum. Lots of cozy seating inside and tables outside. And free wifi to use. Great spot to meet friends for brunch/coffee as well as to sit and work on your laptop or read. Will be back!

Google
Ordered the gluten free banana tart. The banana was banana-ing. The crust: it's bitter flavor complemented the banana, but the texture was like chewing the crusted on dirt off the bottom of a boot. Otherwise it was good! Brown sugar molasses drink was decent.

Yelp
I looked for a new cafe to enjoy over my birthday weekend. Boy, did this place did not disappoint. From the customer service, options on their menu, and cute space, I can for sure tell you I'm going back. The young woman, I forget her name, was upbeat and welcoming. I told her it was my first time and she gave me suggestions and explanations. I changed my mind once or twice and usually you are met with eye rolls at other places, but that wasn't my experience here. She had no problem and actually told me I made the better choice in her opinion. Little things like that go a long way. The food! Overall, I'm not a huge breakfast person. I typically eat yogurt or a simple egg dish. This breakfast sandwich is the best I've ever had. From the runny egg cooked to perfection, fresh avocado slices, crispy bacon, and the bun. The bun! Seems sill to bring so much attention to a bun, but it was fresh, soft, warm, and chewy. I want to buy all their buns. SHOUT OUT TO THE COOKS! ‍ I tried a mint tea and guava kombucha that were both refreshing. Not pictured is a peach danish and pistachio croissant that I cannot wait to dive into. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Well, I'm hooked on this place now. Having never visited a Cafe Ceres in my 8 years living in the Twin Cities, I now know what I was missing. The ambience is calm inside. Penn can be a bit busy but sitting on the porch outside is also a good spot on a nice day. After a coffee and snack there are other businesses in the area for errands like the hardware next door. Food The pistachio croissant is perfect. It has a creme on the inside and pistachios crushed on top. I have to assume all the croissants are this good. We also had the breakfast sandwich which comes on an English muffin and they allow you to substitute meat with avocado without an extra charge which is appreciate for those avoiding meat either altogether or for that morning. Coffee So far I've only had the espresso and I would rank it in the middle of available options in the Twin Cities. It's plenty caffeinated enough yet it seems like each time I get a cortado it tastes different. If you strive for consistency, then perhaps the coffee would be more up your alley. If you like the barista's touch each time, then the espresso is good and will get you where you're trying to go.

Yelp
Weird vibe at Cafe Ceres today. I was here a year ago and it was tasty but this time was a disappointment. Far from welcoming or friendly. In fact we felt like a bother. Three of us ordered pistachio croissants and there was no offer to warm them up. When we requested it after the fact, they were barely warmed. They must have changed their coffee supplier because the lattes we had were bitter, which was not the case last time. The pistachio latte was just too much to even finish. So many coffee shops that offer so much more, including friendly service.

Yelp
Very good option! Great environment. Great staff. Brunch or lunch spot for sure. Some outdoor seating and a clean environment.

Yelp
By far the best place for coffee in Minnesota. Great staff, awesome atmosphere, and last , but definitely not least. They make everyone feel comfortable, regardless of race or religion. Lol keep up the good work ceres!!

Yelp
Messed up my order. Took forever to fix. Had a better salmon bagel at bruegger's... my wife said her meal was meh as well

Yelp
Lovely coffee shop with award winning pastries. I read about the pastry chef being nominated for a national award and could not wait to try this place. Since then, I've been here multiple times to all three locations. Vibe in the downtown location is chill, good music (not too loud) and filled with natural light. There's also shaded outdoor seating that is lively, and some folks bring their dog with them and sit there. Workers are chill and the drinks are made consistently. Super yummy lattes...but the pastries are the best. Only disappointment occurs if you arrive late and the c pastries are sold out.

Yelp
This place is located right on the corner of Penn which is a little busy but finding it was fine and so was parking. I visited around 10am on a weekday so I was a little hopeful that there would be a good variety of options left but I was wrong; there were very few things left from the bakery. I ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches instead which were okay. I was a little disappointed by the service. First, I wasn't notified that my food was ready. Additionally, I had to put my things in a bag from the shelf that they had been sitting on for several minutes. If I did ever return, I don't think I'd sit there. It was quite small and uninviting (for me anyway) and I don't feel as if my service mattered.

Yelp
Lovely good quality cafe to enjoy company and a treat. Stopped by here Saturday morning, and you can tell it's popular with the locals. There's plenty of parking along the street. And with the corner lot, you can peer over to see if there's any available outside tables. You're gonna have to come early though, they were already occupied when I arrived around 10am or so. Grabbed a ham and cheese croissant and a cup of coffee. The croissant was buttery and flakey. Perfect bake; a delightful decadent treat. Would come here for the croissants any time. Wasn't a big fan of the coffee. That took down my star. The drinks were more European in style, and wasn't something I was expecting. Would come back and try a different product.

Yelp
Lunch here was an overpriced disappointment - spouse had a curry chicken salad sandwich and I had a croissant with prosciutto , tomato, basil and a harissa mayo. Give them both a "meh" (and they were messy !). Maybe best to come here before coffee and pastries ( which looked good but weee pretty much gone by noon.) After all, this is an award-winning pastry chef! Gelato is a new add here and was quite good. P.S. Surprised that there was no recycling container for canned from beverage sold.

Yelp
Cafe Ceres is the cutest little cafe to meet up for a coffee date or brunch. They have plenty of space to sit and the lighting is just perfect. So many fresh bakery items and breakfast dishes to choose from, we found it hard to decide! I ordered a spiced vanilla latte and pear danish. Where this cafe really shines is in their pastries. The latte was very good, but the real star was the danish. So perfectly crisp on the outside, flaky and buttery on the inside with a super flavorful pear filling. I would have eaten five more of those things! Honestly this place is pastry heaven. The staff at Cafe Ceres were very friendly and were happy to answer any questions we had. Make sure to take advantage of free street parking down the road and have yourself a little coffee date at this adorable cafe!

Yelp
Satellite location of the Cafe Ceres in Linden Hills. Inspired coffee drinks, tasty bakery. Tried the pineapple and rosemary scone, cornmeal base was an interesting choice! Service is ok if a little eclectic. They've started serving wine beer and cocktails at this location too! Not pictured but get the prosciutto and basil croissant. It's expensive. And worth every penny.

Yelp
Probably the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. When I first read it off the menu it sounded pretty standard but once I took the first bite-- I was surprised. The sandwich has a really good flavor, I think they add some secret ingredient? It all tastes fresh too. The bun is so nice, soft and delicious. I will be returning for this breakfast sandwich!

Yelp
This place is amazing!! I'd walked past at night, after dinner at Colita, and made my way back for breakfast. I'm so glad I did!! I've been coming back regularly ever since. First of all - the Ras el Hanout latte is UH-mazing. It's so unique, I've never had one like this and I can't get enough. Next, the egg sandwich was outstanding. A little spendy, but oh so good. The avocado toast has great flavor, but I thought the bread was too tough. I tasted a couple pastries and they were good. The vibe inside is perfect. I wish it were a tiny bit bigger because all the seats fill up fast! Overall, one of the best coffee shops I've ever been too.
google avatar

Brendan P.

Yelp
This place was excellent. Best blueberry scone I've ever had. Had the Turkish bagel at the recommendation of the servers and it was excellent. Highly recommend. Also the Dukka was incredible.

Odalis M.

Yelp
The breakfast sandwich I had was very good! It was quick and my matacha was good. Nothing fancy but I enjoyed it. I will say the service was weird. I walked in and no one really said anything (it was not busy) but who knows.
google avatar

Lindsay S.

Yelp
Sadly went in here to try one of the croissants or sweet treats we've heard about... nothing available or even on the menu?? Super confusing. Adorable space, but majorly disappointing.
google avatar

Ben K.

Yelp
When the other location ran out of bagels, we hustled on over to this location...and now I think we will regularly come to this one! Space is decently sized, with seating for about 25-30 people plus a lovely patio during the summer months! Parking is street-only, so practice your parallel parking! :) Service was lovely for our whole visit! I got an iced Ras El Hanout Latte, which was a lovely blend of sweet and spice. The real winner was the Sausage Breakfast Sandwich, which wasn't available at their 44th Street location. Yummy sausage and a bit of parsley in the freshly cooked egg made this a one of a kind sandwich. Will absolutely return for more of my remote working days!

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of Cafe Ceres, and the Linden Hills location is probably my favorite coffee shop in the Twin Cities. Intrigued by the larger food menu of the Armatage location, hubby and I ventured over for some Sunday coffee & brunch. The shop is definitely on the smaller side and can be tough to get a table on a busy morning, but the coffee & the food make up for it in a big way. We were thankfully able to snag a table to enjoy some avocado toast and a sausage breakfast sandwich. My avo toast was AMAZING, and my oat milk latte was as good as always. Hubby liked his breakfast sandwich and said the sausage had great flavor. Linden Hills Cafe Ceres still has my heart, but I would happily come here again for their great food!
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
$15 Avocado toast? Totally worth it. Five stars and I think avocado toast is stupid Overall it's ok. Bakery is good not great. Coffee is good. Staff was pretty much not loving it. Nice seating area outdoors that they never seem to bus nor clean. Food and coffee is better than Starbucks but staff is happier and tables get bussed at Starbucks.

Huzefa G.

Yelp
Fun cafe at this new location. Very bright and inviting. Good choice of coffees and breakfast stuff. They sell out so get there early.
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
Turkish bagel is one of the best things I have had in a while. Definitely would recommend.
google avatar

Miranda W.

Yelp
Update: Cafe Ceres' breakfast sandwiches are OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD good. My favorite is the bacon on a milk bun but I substitute the fried egg for the scrambled egg. They're flavorful, cheesy, made with high-quality ingredients, and beyond delicious. I've been obsessed with these sandwiches. Go try 'em.

Yelp
Recently stopped by this new Armatage Cafe Ceres location and boy was I impressed ! I loved how open this new location looked. Lots of natural light flowed through with the large windows and I loved the modern-boho accents throughout the whole cafe. This location offers a limited brunch menu which I was eager to try. I got the Strawberries & Mascarpone biscuits entree which came with 2 biscuits topped with delicious sweet strawberry compote and whipped mascarpone. It was garnished with mint. Absolutely delicious. The dulce de leche latte was also amazing. It had a smooth coffee flavor ; not too bitter. Loved the caramel syrup they used. I was so happy to see that they carry Boludo empanadas as I love their food! The empanadas we got were the Fugazetta and Puerro. Both were amazing in different ways since they both have different types of cheeses. Tastes like pizza in folded up form. Loved it. I tried a bit of the bagel and labneh that it comes with and that was also delicious! Lots of flavor throughout and the labneh was very creamy. Lastly, not pictured was 2 pastries I took home - blueberry lemon muffin and the blueberry scone. Both were divine and I loved that I could taste the fresh blueberries and the lemon flavor. This cafe overall was a great experience and I know I'll be back. You can't go wrong with any of the menu items.

Yelp
Visited 2/19/23. Cafe Ceres is delicious and cute. Visited the Armatage location on this occasion (across from Colita), which has some side street parking near it. I ordered the cold brew and the salmon bagel, my sister got the avocado toast, and our mom ordered the spiced vanilla latte and the sausage breakfast sandwich. The decor in the place is super cute and it is busy pretty much every-time I've visited, however the three of us were able to find a spot still. Staff was friendly and helpful in making a selection. We sat at the bar, which also contains all of the additional silverware, napkins, and mix-ins, and it did feel like we were a bit in the way of others trying to get some of these. The spiced latte was delicious; it could've stood to be just a tad hotter based on my taste of it and my mom's commentary, but the flavors were lovely. The salmon bagel was very good, although I've also previously had the bacon egg and cheese and definitely preferred that based on its really fluffy and delicious milk bun. The breakfast sandwich has some good flavor but the sausage patty itself was a bit too thick for our preferences. Overall, this would make for a nice study or meet up space and has lots of sun shining into it which makes for a great atmosphere.

Blake83 D.

Yelp
Wow I just spent $9.30 here for a 16oz oat milk latte. That's absolutely ridiculous. I had gone here quite a bit every morning on my commute to work in the past couple of years and paid $7 plus including a $1 tip, but quit going because they are really busy at times and service is too slow to just grab a coffee. I stopped in on a whim and didn't notice the price change when hit a $1 tip. I don't ever cheap out anything, I love quality everything and always leave 20%+ tips, but almost $10 for latte is greedy. I loved this place but I won't be coming back.

Deesa B.

Yelp
was beyond dissatisfied that Cafe Ceres is no longer using Silverbird coffee. Whatever you are using now taste like the worst coffee I've ever had!
google avatar

Christina B.

Yelp
Love this little gem, but not sure what the "Health and Wellness fee" of 5% is all about. Really unnecessary. I love places with unique lattes and the Ras El Hanout Latte was delish! The food is a bit overpriced, but it was pretty tasty. I'll go back if I'm in the area again.

Yelp
Second location of Cafe Ceres - opened on Penn Ave in the Armatage neighborhood of Minneapolis! So so happy about this expansion as it is currently one of my favorite cafes in the Twin Cities to frequent! If it's at all possible, this second location is almost more beautiful than the first. The space is a lot brighter; the huge windows let in a ton of natural light and the white / birch wood decor brightens up the space nicely. There is a ton of greenery and plants which adds to the overall aesthetic and makes the vibe just right for a great cafe. Best part of this location is the extended FOOD menu!! They have all the same favorite pastries and baked goods as the Linden Hill location but also offer new delicious BRUNCH bites. It looks like the brunch menu might be rotating and items will be switching around every once in a while. Currently, they're offering a Biscuit series which is also phenomenal and the biscuits might be some of the best I've ever had! And definitely don't sleep on the cookies! The Chocolate Zephyr cookie is to die for! Great choice if you're not too hungry and want something small and nice to nibble on while sipping on your coffee! All of their coffees are also wonderful and pair great with any of the food items! Don't be afraid to experiment with their unique flavors such as the Ras El Hanout Latte (ginger, black pepper, spices) or the Dukkah Latte (cumin, thyme, black sesame, coriander, sumac)! Both are fantastic and I love them hot or iced! Definitely a gem of a cafe to have in the cities!

Allie K.

Yelp
Fantastic service, friendly staff, Latte and Americano were served quickly and tasted great. The bacon breakfast sandwich on a bagel was .... DELICIOUS. Decor is also super cute. Two thumbs up!
google avatar

Leisa K.

Yelp
Great little place for coffee. We went right as they opened on a Saturday morning so were served fairly quickly, but only one person was taking orders and making the drinks so it took a little longer than we expected. The food looked really good. It got busy quick, so be prepared to wait in line.
google avatar

Heather M.

Yelp
I stopped in for to-go breakfast and was able to get in & out in under 10 mins. I got the pistachio croissant, breakfast sausage sandwich and Ras El Hanout latter (date syrup, coriander, cumin, ginger, black pepper) on the barista's recommendation. The 5 stars were earned by the latte & breakfast sandwich - the pistachio croissant wasn't bad, but just didn't have enough filling/pistachio flavor punch. The spices in the latte were amazing - especially the black pepper taste! The breakfast sandwich had such amazing flavor and is pretty large for an english muffin sandwich (I was able to break it up into 2 meals) - the sausage is great and the chives in the egg are a nice touch! I would definitely come back for the breakfast sandwich and to dive further into their latte menu!

Yelp
It's... fine. FOOD: The pastries are alright-- standard bakery fare done well, though nothing to write home about. I've had their soups of the day, and they're generally heavy on the salt and the spices (there was a turmeric vegetable-bean soup that was waaaaay over-salted). Otherwise, a friend had one of their breakfast sandwiches and said that it was "good." A small-ish cafe menu overall with okay-to-good food, not spectacular. SERVICE: Speedy counter service, and everyone I've interacted with has been quite friendly. AMBIENCE: Cute slightly hipster cafe vibe; lots of big windows and indoor plants, and there are occasionally folks there on their laptops studying or reading or whatnot. Overall, a chill young neighborhood vibe. PARKING: No lot, just street parking-- though this is quite plentiful in the surrounding neighborhood.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Love this cafe! Their coffee offerings and food are unique and delicious. For coffee, I typically get the dulce de leche latte (with half the amount of syrup because the regular amount is too sweet for me). For food, I like their prosciutto croissant and schnitzel sandwich. Their pastries are also really good! This location has a similar vibe to their original location but is smaller and has less foot traffic. Parking is street only but not too hard to find.
google avatar

Ieesha C.

Yelp
Quite possibly the best breakfast sandwich I've ever eaten. I was surprised to find out that this location actually serves hot breakfast sandwiches, so I gave the bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich a try. To my surprise it was absolutely prepared to perfection. The bacon was crispy, the milk bun was soft and buttery, the egg was nice and runny, the avocado was fresh and neatly organized, and the mayo and American cheese were a surprising addition to make for a pleasing and tasty breakfast sandwich (I don't usually eat American cheese, given my evolved palette, but on this sandwich is was a hit.) I came back a few days later for another. Still delicious. Warning, it's a messy sandwich, but worth it. I'm adding this place to my breakfast sandwich rotation!
google avatar

Jamal E.

Yelp
Amazing all around! Got the smoked salmon bagel and wow. The servers were phenomenal and the vibe was 10/10
google avatar

Brittany B.

Yelp
Love the options for specialty coffee drinks, planning to go back to try some of the others! Lots of bakery options too. The indoor seating is tight since it's a small space, but doesn't feel crowded. We sat outside where there were about 7 small tables. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Jodi V.

Yelp
Got coffee here everyday! Amazing coffee and food! The prosciutto croissant was the best thing ever! Everyone was super friendly and helpful each day.
google avatar

Ava C.

Yelp
I have never been so happy. Not only was this place decorated with the cutest plants but I also had THE BEST CHAI OF MY LIFE. If you enjoy chai lattes at all please try it here!
google avatar

Manu P.

Yelp
The coffee options, pastries, and food options are incredible. A little on the premium side for pricing, but I find myself making that "sacrifice" often. They have an incredibly well lit space, with a decent range of seating options. You have to get the Jerusalem bagel with smoked salmon. The labneh and za'atar are perfect additions. Every latte I've had their was killer, and their pistachio croissant is so flaky!!

Brandon K.

Yelp
Food was amazing, but a little pricey. The service was great no long waits. The area was pretty tight, but still can have a group brunch.
google avatar

Heather F.

Yelp
Recommended from a friend. I had the Dukkah Latte and the Turkish bagel - both were delicious! I liked the woven wooden chairs and plants.
google avatar

Yelp
Yummm! The pistachio croissant is so good. They sometimes have empanadas which I reallly enjoyed. The drinks here are pretty good. This place deff doesn't disappoint

Joel C.

Yelp
Hard to imagine the service I didn't receive this afternoon. I ordered a coffee drink, two young people behind the counter, no other orders, these two staffers were stocking the straws, futzing with things behind the counter. At one point, one asked the other "are you going to make that guy's coffee." She replied, "no." And that was it. It was like a contest between these two teenagers on who would have to make my coffee. They could not have cared less about my experience.

Jeff J.

Yelp
Nice looking place, but the Green Eggs and Ham should be renamed the "Green Egg (singular) and a Touch of Ham". Bottom line is that for $15.00 having more than one egg as well as more than ONE thinly sliced piece shaved ham ( the cheapest meat at the deli counter) on a small plate is not asking too much. Did it taste good? It tasted okay. I'd probably stop in here for a cup of coffee, but the cost of the food is such that I wouldn't get more than that.

Joel C.

Yelp
i live 2 blocks away and I SO want to love this place but it's a struggle. I go at least once a week and try different things. Mostly these days, just the (expensive but good) coffee. The coffee and service are excellent. But the food .... Some of the pastries are good - none are great - the blueberry lemon scone is a fave of ours. But they rotate availability so you never know what will be there and most of the other choices are pretty weak. So I go hoping for coffee and a treat and my only choices are a contrived take on a muffin or croissant - nothing that makes me feel like I am indulging, more like I'm tolerating someone's kitchen experiment. And if it's good - too bad - tomorrow it will be a new experiment. The "Turkish Bagel" is perhaps the worst disappointment (before today.) Our neighborhood would flock to a place that serves one good, chewy, plain, New York bagel. Instead we get this cakey, crumbly, thing that feels like it's made of day-old white bread and shares only it's shape with a real bagel. But the worst was the breakfast sandwich this morning which prompted me to finally write this review. It's horrible. English muffin, cheese and egg are all well executed but between them is a disgusting, inch-thick slab of something I can only describe as faux-chorizo. My wife and I shared one and we both felt ill most of the day. Cafe Ceres is trying too hard to be different and not trying hard enough to please the neighborhood.

Yelp
Definitely a favorite spot of ours which we frequent often. My favorite was the avocado toast, which unfortunately got taken off the menu during the recent seasonal change. I hope they bring it back again.

Yelp
Possibly the best spiced latte drinks I've had in Minneapolis!
