Herald Square’s Food Vendors Battles With 34th Street Partnership for Public Space - Eater NY

"Nineteen-year-old Kosher deli Cafe Classico has reportedly taken its landlord to court, claiming the company is trying to kick the restaurant out in order to continue development on “Billionaire’s Row,” the stretch of Midtown West with several luxury skyscrapers. Cafe Classico claims that the its landlord 35 West Realty Co. is using a technicality — the fact that the restaurant has a $1 million insurance liability policy instead of a $2 million policy — to force it out so the company can build another new development, the Post reports." - Stefanie Tuder

Went for lunch on a weekday. Quiet place very close to Central Park. Amazing food. I had the chicken breast entree, and the quantity and quality were both great. Same about the falafels - crisp enough. Just wish they had baklava as advertised in the online menu.

This is a clean and tasty kosher restaurant in the heart of midtown. The middle eastern and American dishes are quite good. Portions are generous and the establishment is well kept.

Very large Selection of menu items and very fast service. Waiters are familiar with all items on the menu. Soup came out hot, First time in a long time I didn't have to send back the soup to heat up again and again. Waiter made sure my table was not wobbly. The waiter kept our baby company so we can eat in peace lol. The French Fries came with Ketchup. I did not have to ask for anything. They are on top of there game. Food was good as well. The food was plentiful/Large Portions.

It's fine. Overpriced, as usual. Cousins like the fish.

this place has been around for a very long time. I guess that should tell you something. the menu is reasonably varied and the prices are about what you would expect for restaurant on 57th Street in Manhattan. I had the sesame chicken which was surprisingly good. The cajun fries were not. They were so mild that I wondered whether or not they had actually given me the cajun fries that I had ordered or if these were regular fries. desert was also quite good. I was there with a bunch of friends celebrating the birthday of one of them. We stayed for a long time and enjoyed the overall experience.

Really awful food tasted bland overpriced for nothing. The waiter was rude, and said we need to give him a tip, and wouldn't give back credit card until I tipped him. My friend found a hair in the salad as well. I will not be ever coming back here.

Was a bit empty for a Thursday night. Table layout not the most conducive for date night. Waiter treated us to a meat bean soup compliments on the house. Nice touch and delicious.

NEVER ORDER FOR DELIVERY. I keep trying to seee if they get better becasue theeir cajun sandwhich is delicious. but they take an extra hour to deliver, if you call to ask they put you on hold till your call is dropped. i ordered a steak in the restaurant once and asked for it medium rare. i got medium well. When I asked to send it back i was told no and that health regulations required them to cook it this way.
