"Famous for coffee, co-owned by Abner Roldán, a renowned barista." - Paxx Caraballo Moll

"After the hurricanes of 2017, Café Comunión's Abner Roldan persisted, serving coffee on the street outside its ravaged café. But what would one expect from a barista so dedicated that he holds the title of Puerto Rico’s National Latte Art Champion? Roldan, a former teacher turned prize-winning barista loves to educate customers about coffee, so much so that he dedicates a podcast to it. Roldan honed his trade in another coffee capital—Portland, Ore.—before setting up this modern, Spanish tile-floored shop in the artsy Santurce neighborhood." - Kathleen Squires

Came here off a recommendation from our Kayaking tour guide in Co dads. Just have to say this was the best food we've had since visiting PR. We've been disappointed by the tasteless overpriced food but this café is excellent. We got a Grilled Cheese which was delicious and the bread was so good. We got the Pastrami sandwich which was perfect. Side of French toast which was fluffy and delicious and a side of yogurt. Very happy.

Delicious coffee! Loved the house syrup and lavender. They have amazing sandwiches and few baked goods. They have wifi and there’s outdoor seating available. The baristas are super nice and helpful.

Killer place! Love the vibe, from the staff, to super healthy driven food/snacks/coffee/drinks. We had Sensacion Rosa, I had Coffee, and we both shared Chori (Chorizo Open Face Sandwich, with onions, avocado spread, sourdough toast, Fresh cheese, dude, really really incredible. Dope Place, support the locals!

While randomly searching for a place to enjoy breakfast and coffee, we stumbled upon this spot. Despite the place being quite crowded, we were fortunate enough to find available seating. Their dynamic is forming the line at the register, you place your order and are free to sit where you please. We couldn't help but notice that the cashier, unfortunately, lacked warmth and friendliness. With no smile or greeting, we had to greet her. As new customers to the place, we sought a recommendation, but it seemed like she offered the first thing that came to her mind without any enthusiasm or elaboration on why it would be a good choice. Her face said: “Hurry up and order.” During the checkout process, there was a tipping option, and when I chose not to leave a tip, the cashier's demeanor turned more serious and she had the audacity to thank me at that point, I wasn’t sure I heard right and asked what she said, and I was thanked for a second time, that was disrespectful. It was disheartening to experience such poor customer service at the register. It's disappointing to encounter situations where we're expected to tip before even trying the food or beverage. If a tip is anticipated merely for taking an order, at least try to earn it by providing excellent customer service and that might increase the likelihood of receiving a tip. Nowadays, it feels like some places simply assume they deserve tips for merely existing, but it's essential to remember that earning a tip is about delivering exceptional service and making the customer's experience truly enjoyable, which she didn’t. Let's focus on providing outstanding service, and the tips will naturally follow. Moving on to the positive aspects, the cappuccino I ordered received a solid 8.5 out of 10, and the pastrami sandwich impressed me with a perfect 10 out of 10 rating. Both the coffee and food were excellent. Luckily, the table service was handled by another person who was attentive and genuinely friendly. He brought us our coffee and brought my friend's order with a welcoming attitude. Interestingly, the same cashier who seemed indifferent at the register delivered my order and provided some napkins. However, despite me thanking her both times, she offered no response, smile, or any form of acknowledgment. Overall, the experience was a bit bittersweet. The food and coffee were exceptional, but the cashier's attitude left much to be desired. We’ve visited many coffee shops and this one had the potential for an out of this world review, too bad. We plan to come back, hopefully a different person will be handling the register to make it an all-around awesome experience on our next visit.

Miel de avena latte is life changing. So delicious, the sensacion Rosa is an unexpected treat too. The tostadas abiertas we tried were both really great. The La Chori is my favorite we’ve had so far. Will definitely be back!

Cafe Communion is coolest cafe I’ve been to in Puerto Rico! The staff, the logo, the atmosphere, and the drinks are all equally interesting. I ordered the trópico sándwich and it was very pleasant. I think I actually enjoyed the salad even more though! I recommend checking out the outdoor area in the back if you’re looking for a quieter vibe. I’ll be coming back if I visit again!

Café Comunión y one of my happy place, the atmosphere of the place is peaceful. People are respectful and cool. If you have anything to ask about coffee they will help you. Also have a “ coffee” for kids el Marcelino. They have the best coffee in Puerto Rico.
