Supino Pizzeria Owner Is Opening a Restaurant in New Center - Eater Detroit

"However, the area has been fickle when it comes to new businesses. Cafe Con Leche, the Zenith, and most recently Atomic Chicken all struggled to find a regular clientele in the neighborhood." - Brenna Houck

Google
Wonderful food, reasonable price. We also got the flan but it got demolished before we even got a photo! Will definitely be back for more. We got the steak and chimichurri and chilaquiles and they were delicious! The rice portions were a bit generous for me because my plate also came with potatoes. I gave the bread to the chilaquiles eater. 🤣 We will definitely be back. Thank youuuu!

Google
We came here for breakfast today and we loved it! We ordered the choco banana crepes and the spinach omelette and they were both delicious! We also ordered the chocolate abuelita latte and the cinnamon miel and they were also delicious! We really enjoyed the the cozy atmosphere and the staff was very accommodating. We will definitely be returning!

Google
Café con Leche has a variety of food items ranging from American breakfast to traditional Mexican options. They also had Mexican inspired specialty coffees. Everything we got was delicious!

Google
Really glad I randomly chose to grab breakfast at Cafe con Leche! Food was, staff friendly, and coffee was phenomenal. Too often lattes are made too sweet but Cafe con Leche's lattes were a perfect balance. Would be my go to spot if I lived in Iowa.

Came here today for some coffee and breakfast. The cappuccino and breakfast burrito didn’t disappoint. Got here on a Saturday just after 8 and within about 30 minutes the place was filling up. Highly recommend stopping in for good coffee and good food.

Google
This was the quite possibly the best and I am not going to say Mexican food, but food I have had. The bowls are literally second to none. Fresh, fast and really feel like they care about the food they are putting out. Well done and keep up the great work!

Google
Great little Cafe! It was a Saturday morning at 10:45 and busy the entire time. But, there was always seating available because of the staff's efficiency. They had a nice variety of things on the menu, plus a good amount of pastries to choose from. The chicken fajita sandwich and Cuban were both very tasty! Plenty of good coffee options as well!

Google
Loved finding this gem of a place! Planning another visit as I sit and eat. Great staff, authentic food and celebrated cultural influences. Best chicken tortilla soup I’ve ever had! The shake did not disappoint, Mexican cinnamon coffee shake with vanilla ice cream. Good portions as well

Yelp
Yes! This was fantastic. Husband had the Diego and enjoyed the pancakes. I had the chilaquiles and loved them! Everything has great and distinct flavor including the coffee! It wasn't just trucker coffee. We will be back and maybe next Sunday!

Yelp
Tried Cafe con Leche at 2905 Hubbell today and it was absolutely delicious. Servers and workers were helpful and nice. Food came out quick. You order at the counter and then sit and wait for the food to be brought out to you. Texas Brunch: Ribeye, Eggs, Beans, Rice and Toast. So, so flavorful and delicious! Would def get again. The rice and beans alone were flavorful and good! Strawberry Nutella Crepes: kids loved this, we added ice cream on top Dulce De Leche Pancakes: Kids loved this as well. We added Strawberries and Bananas All-in-all, we would def come again if we were out this way. Hours are 8am-3pm. They serve breakfast, lunch and different coffees, lattes, shakes, etc...

Yelp
This is a nice 15-table diner. It looks like owners are the people doing the food. I had a GREAT Cuban sandwich! I was trying to slow down eating because I didn't want it to end. GF had crepes and said they were very good as well. And she got a shake with cinnamon. You should go!

Yelp
Second visit today was as good as my first- Tasty food, friendly and fast service. This will be on my go-to for weekend coffee/breakfast.

Yelp
Delicious food! I like the concept of a Mexican cafe. Very unique. It was a really great breakfast experience. We got a lot of food. I loved the white mocha coffee drink. The only thing I wasn't into was the breakfast potatoes. They came out cold and were a little bland. But everything else was wonderful. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Wow! Awesome brunch! Clean & cute! Hubby had a rice bowl with carnitas & it was huge! He loved it. Nice amount of meat with beans & rice & onions. Great presentation. I had chilaquiles--corn tortilla pieces with rice & an egg. I had it verde but I'm sure red sauce would be tasty as well. I did add some salsa. Filling! Two eggs would be a nice option. I couldn't pass on the Abuelita hot chocolate shake! Mmmmm... not just a regular shake but with ice in it, besides a lot of chocolate. Very pretty as well as extremely tasty!! The waitres was happy & helpful. Go there! Crepes are next on my list.

Yelp
What a fabulous little spot we stumble on one Saturday AM. We had to order 3 entrees because we could not decide on just two. What a killer little spot packed with great flavors on the east side. Well worth the drive from Ankeny.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious!! Don't miss out on this hidden gem. Between 2 of us we ordered 3 things just because we couldn't decide. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
The chilaquiles were phenomenal. Horchata latte was delish and my son's milkshake was great, too!

Yelp
There has been a lot of restaurants try their luck at this location. I have to say hands down, best place to eat breakfast/brunch on the East side. The help goes above and beyond to service your needs, we took a party of 8 and everyone really liked what they had ordered, I've been back several times since Highly recommend this restaurant!!

Yelp
During a previously mentioned road trip from Phoenix to Grand Rapids, the 5 of us made another random choice for breakfast and all enjoyed a fabulous meal of breakfast burritos, and chilaquiles. Accompanied by varied coffee/latte options, we all had excellent food and consistent quality service from this charming little local version of what a small town restaurant should be. Highly recommended.

Yelp
A hidden gem of Des Moines for breakkie! Had their chorizo and eggs and my boyfriend had their breakfast burrito and everything was 10/10

Yelp
Wow! Such a delicious and unique brunch. The chilaquiles were so good. Service is fast and everything tastes really fresh.

Yelp
Tried molletes, a dish from Puebla, Mexico at @cafe con leche cafe on Hubbell. It's a new breakfast and brunch spot that serves coffee, Mexican pastries, shakes with Mexican ingredients like horchata and mazapan, ice cream, breakfast and lunch items. It's not a huge or overwhelming menu, but there's a good variety. The service was friendly, and we didn't wait long for our coffee or meals. It's locally owned and operated by a sweet family who have owned a few other restaurants in Des Moines. Their experience shone as they kept patrons moving, even though they kept streaming in throughout my meal. It's a cute little place with a relaxed vibe where you can sit and enjoy your coffee and visit with friends and not feel rushed. I ordered the mollete because I had never heard of it before. It's toasted baguette smeared with refried black beans and pico de gallo, topped with queso fresco. It paired perfectly with my cappuccino. My friend got a breakfast burrito and said it was tasty. Many people were ordering the chilequiles and raving about them so I want to go back and try it, along with their shakes.

Yelp
2nd time here but this time came on a week day. Not as busy and great food. The rice bowl with carnitas was out of this world with flavor, black beans, rice and pico de Gallo on top. The Abuelita hot chocolate shake is the best shake ever!

Yelp
Enjoyed delicious chorizo and eggs that came with black beans, white and tortillas. The portions are generous, the service is friendly, and the ambience as great as the restaurant is flooded with natural light. My colleague enjoyed his Cubano sandwich very much. It came with salsa that I stole for my eggs - delish. Would absolutely visit again.

Yelp
Pleasant and cozy environment. Nice staff. Food was fresh and fantastic! We will be back!!!

Yelp
Loud and amazing, good service (fyi you have to order at the counter), clean tables and floors. I had the chorizo and eggs (comes with beans and rice) and it was killer. Will be back!

Yelp
We recently had breakfast there & it was very good. Service was good, comfortable retro booths. The crepe was to die for, delicious. Only negative was their breakfast potatoes didn't have much seasoning. Overall it was excellent .

Devon L.

Yelp
Ordered the Mollete, Strawberrry Crepe and Horchata Latte off Grubhub. I have to say, this was hands down one of the better places I've ordered from. The Mollete had an explosion of flavor, and the crepe was the perfect amount of sweet. Not over the top, which I prefer. The latte was also delicious and actually full bodied and didn't taste like sugary milk, like most places do. Absolutely will order again!

Yelp
Been passing by this business for a while and finally decided to stop while camper being worked on across the street--another great business by the way! What a treat to see Mexico-inspired food and coffee on the menu. It's a well kept area with a cozy feel. You order at the front counter and your selections are brought to your table. We were encouraged by the owner to try a demitasse of coffee with cinnamon, and it was delicious--my partner ended up ordering a small to go with her eggwhite croissant sandwich. I was determined to order a hot coffee with choco Abuelita, also delicious. I was very impressed with Chorizo street tacos, served with white rice and refried black beans, a fantastic combination. The pork chorizo was very tasty, savory with a light kick, and not at all the greasy kind you're likely to find at local stores. This experience really spoke to my heart, as I've been missing the flavors of my native South Texas.

Yelp
My husband and I went to eat breakfast on a Monday. The place is lovely! Very clean! We ordered omelettes, coffee, a concha. Everything was really delicious. The omelette were made with real eggs, not box eggs. Everything was flavorful. We are thinking on going back of course. We want to try the shakes next time.

Anna B.

Yelp
Really delicious food. My family ate here for breakfast and the whole experience was wonderful. The staff was really friendly and it's a cute environment. Tried a few different things on the menu and they were all good. My favorite thing was the crepes.

Stacy E.

Yelp
Fantastic food and wonderful staff! We had the breakfast burrito and the rice bowl and they were both delicious!

Carly J.

Yelp
Everything was great! Food was amazing, I ordered the breakfast burrito and the portion size was more than enough. And it was delicious!! The only complaint I have is that the dining area is small and the tables are packed closely together. Other than that it was a lovely experience!

Yelp
Five stars for a wonderful, great FIRST IMPRESSION!!! I'm rating Cafe con Leche on my first impression experience of just stopping in recently to see what the new cafe on the corner nearby was all about!! Upon entering, I was greeted by the friendly owner. As I was looking around, much to my joyous surprise I noticed what looked like a genuine, professional espresso machine!! The owner confirmed that's what it was!! ON THE EAST SIDE and within walking distance!!!! We struck up a friendly conversation about the Cafe, the owners and their story (note: they have a lot of experience in the restaurant business). She answered all my questions. The interior is wonderful - clean space, clean atmosphere. Inviting - with plenty of booths along the walls. A perfect place to sit awhile to read and write with an anticipated great shot of espresso or a cup of cappuccino!! The Cuban Sandwich on the menu caught my attention and the owner suggested it as well!! Looking forward to trying it in the near future! Anyway, I only had a few moments to stop in this time to check out the place, so haven't yet tried any of the food or beverages. I am definitely planning to WALK there soon- and perhaps to frequent it OFTEN in the quiet hours to read and write and enjoy a great espresso or cappuccino or meal!! So GLAD for this new cafe on the East Side!! (My first job was in this location when it was Pizza Hut!!) I wish the owners God's blessing and good success and profitability with this new endeavor!!

Andersen C.

Yelp
This place is awesome - very friendly waitstaff and excellent breakfast/brunch food. Both the crepes and the breakfast burrito were fantastic, and their coffee was very good as well. We will definitely be coming back here - confused as to the previous poor reviews on here!

Yelp
I was super excited about this place opening up and wanting to try out until I finally did today. When I first got there I wasn't even acknowledged or said hi to and the lady seemed upset I was there. Then I went to sit down and I was there an hour and half before they closed with some friends and they shut the lights off on us and turned the music up so we could barely hear each other talking. The coffee and food was mediocre I won't be back. :(
