The Best Cafes in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"As one of the few third-wave options in Outremont, Dax proudly serves coffee from Montreal and other North American roasters such as Calgary-based David Kim and Phil & Sebastian Coffee, as well as a wide variety of teas, baked goods, and a large selection of natural wine." - Daniel Bromberg

COVID-19: 13 Montreal Cafés That Are Still Open for Business | Eater Montreal

"Outremont third-wave coffee shop Dax continutes to open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday — it’s serving brews that use beans from Calgary’s Phil & Sebastian and small Montreal roaster Kujira; home delivery of bulk beans is an option, too." - Tim Forster

I've been going to Dax for years, and it remains one of my favorite local coffee shops. It's not just a neighbourhood gem, it consistently ranks among the best specialty coffee spots in the city. The team is incredibly welcoming, and their customer service is second to none. They’re passionate about what they do, and it shows in every cup. Dax also offers an impressive selection of Canadian-roasted specialty beans, perfect for both casual coffee lovers and serious home brewers. The quality, consistency, and atmosphere make it a place I keep coming back to.

It is a very nicely designed and affordable café opposite to the outremont metro station. I ordered the Chai latte and the pear 🍐 chocolate 🍫 muffin it was amazing 👌 I highly recommend it! The staff are very friendly and they know their products well!

One of my two favorite cafés in Outremont. Excellent espresso and skilled baristas (try their cortado if you don't believe me), very friendly service, modest selection of good pastries and sandwiches, indoor & outdoor seating. The owner is a bundle of helpful energy and advice who clearly cares about his customers..

Great location, right next to Outremont metro station. Has a nice little terrace. The espresso was great. I had a grilled ham grilled cheese and it was very good as well. The owner is very knowledgeable and passionate about coffee. Staff was nice too.

Fantastic little spot for good food in a chill atmosphere. Strongly recommend the grilled cheese and the mocha especially, it was the best of all the coffees I'd tried in Outremont.

Manager is incredibly sweet. Walked in for the first time today. Asked for a recommendation between lattee & chai lattee. Needless to say, lattee did not disappoint. Parking is iffy, but the friendly environment was worth it! Edit: an hour later, I was given a chai lattee on the house thanks to the manager - such a sweet gesture. Lattee is still the way to go!

Not a fan of their espresso as I find it to be a bit too acidic but the chocolate chip cookies is the reason I keep going back !! The matcha is good but easily overpowered by milk substitutes.

Exceptional coffee shop, high quality products, owner clearly cares about giving his clients the best. Had a masterful demonstration of how to make a world class affogato, great all natural popsicles, which our son loves! Great addition to the neighborhood, welcome, we will see you again regularly.

Yelp
J'absolutely j'adore this place!!!! The croissant breakfast sandwich is truly scrumptious. The coffee (and matcha) is delicious as well + it's a lovely space and the outdoor seating is extremely cute!

Yelp
Best spot in the neighbourhood! Lot's of options for drinks, food, coffee beans, popsicles, and they even sell some really great wine. Great outdoor seating, but not a lot of space inside to sit. Has wifi, but no outlets, so don't expect to spend all day here as a second office! Staff is usually great, sometimes there are new hires, or some workers that either over complicate things or don't know how to support their team. But most people are on point and really friendly. :) Definitely recommended!

Yelp
way overpriced coffee with odd aftertaste. sandwiches and "viennoiseries" feel cheap and greasy. lemonade and lollipops have a very faded flavour. the two male baristas are extremely unpleasant. the other ones are fine and even helpful. very little space for sitting in groups of more than 2 people. the seats are overall very uncomfortable and the cardboard cups make the coffee that they contain taste like disgusting vegetable soup. the only positive thing is the pleasant atmosphere with clean tables.
