"Here the baked goods with your coffee come delivered just feet away from behind the counter, where bakers mix, stir and knead (just like your kitty does). The croissants are the best in the city — flaky up front and soft in the center. Along with a bakery this cafe serves wine and the occasional weekend prix-fix menu. Located at the end of the F-line, the historic streetcar is always in view." - pixelstud

Google
I was looking for a good coffee shop during my study and fortunately found this the next day which was 2 minute walk from my hotel! Perfect. The coffee and food offering were also perfect. They have interesting and tasty Brazilian cakes and also a savoury selection. The coffee as you would expect was excellent and the decor was modern, fresh and the atmosphere chilled. Definitely worth a visit.

Google
It’s a great Brazilian and the sandwiches and food that dessert is immaculate and they’re actually coffee is really nice. I highly recommend it pretty well reasonable. I had the same sandwich next time. I’m gonna add a egg to it.

Great Brazilian café! Loved the coffee, food, service and atmosphere! Nice place to work from! The pao de queijo and the mane pelado were amazing!

Google
One of the best sit down places/Cafe at the Castro area 🌈. Authentic Brazilian food selections, approved by our Brazilian friends. Plenty of seats but still gets quite busy from time to time. Menu in Portuguese. Make sure to spend some extra time to review or when preview the menu before you get in line 😉. If you are in the Castro area, make sure to give this place a try 🙌🏽🤩🥐👄.

Google
If you want a taste of a small Brazilian cafe (basics like pão de queijo, coxinha, pudim, etc), you can’t go wrong here. The staff are always friendly and I feel at home every time I visit (I used to live in São Paulo). Love love love.

Google
Such a welcoming café with amazing Brazilian flavors! I ordered coxinhas and a coffee, and it was a perfect combo—the crispy, savory snack paired beautifully with a rich, smooth coffee. Whether you’re familiar with Brazilian food or trying it for the first time, this place is a great introduction. Just a heads-up: I had my laptop out, but I didn’t realize that weekends are screen-free. It definitely helps keep the space relaxed and social, but if you’re planning to get some work done, I’d recommend coming on a weekday. Otherwise, it’s the perfect place to slow down and enjoy something delicious!

Google
One of the best açaí bowls in the city, and amazing pour over coffees. Such a nice cafe.

Google
Very cute café right in the heart of the Castro. Fun ambience and atmosphere sitting by the window and watching the cable cars go by. Great for people watching too. The pineapple mint smoothie was delicious and our favorite item that we ordered!

Yelp
Came with my Brazilian bestie and she approved! A bit crowded on a Sunday afternoon but service was quick. Food: The Coxinha was very tasty and would come back!

Yelp
I had eaten heavily the night before (birthday) and wanted something light. This place has fresh juices! I had orange / carrot. Very nice. The kitchen was making up some really beautiful looking food, stored in memory for next time.

Yelp
Minus one star for poor service and stupidly made iced mocha. I've had the açaí here and it's great (I like it sweet, so I asked for some honey.) The service was great, and they give you a personal glass bottle of water! But today's takeout experience was ridiculous. When you come in and say, "hi!" a polite response is "hi, I'll be right with you" not, "I'm serving him right now" and continue flirting. My iced mocha came with a clump of coagulated chocolate at the bottom because the same server added the ice after the chocolate, then poured hot coffee and milk. Boo.

Yelp
For Fisherman's Wharf, it's 5 stars!! If you're comparing it with all of SF, it's closer 4. If you're stuck in this area, this is the best food and not overpriced like every other place in Fisherman's Wharf! The place is tastefully decorated, spacious, and airy. The sandwiches and baked goods were so yummy! The bread was also toasted nicely. We came here a lot when we played tourist in SF and we'll definitely be back when we're in the area!

Yelp
Amazing food and coffee. Order ahead on a weekend, though best to be able to see the offerings before deciding. Cheese bread breakfast sandwich was to die for, went twice during our visit- was sad not to make it back again before we left.

Yelp
My hotel was only like 2 blocks away and found this place on Yelp. Perfect place to pick up coffee and tid bits for breakfast to bring back to the hotel room. They had a dining area too, but it was tiny and a little cramped. Service was friendly and the food didn't take too long. While I initially came for coffee, I changed my mind and got a pineapple mint juice which was super refreshing :) for breakfast, i got the Coxinha (which is a deep fried pastry that is filled with a chicken and cream cheese mixture), and an Enroladinho de queso (soft coconut bread filled with mozzarella cheese). While the Coxinha was good and comforting, the Enroladinho was my favorite! The sweetness of the coconut, the soft texture of the bread, were both so good with the savoriness of the mozzarella. While I didn't get a chance to try the breakfast sandwiches, everything looked really good - I highly recommend :)

Yelp
Lost my order and no apology - I hosted a baby shower for a friend from Brazil and was excited to include some Brazilian snacks and brigadeiro as the dessert. I placed my order and followed up the next day to change it. Both times the staff confirmed the order and pickup time. When I went to pick up my order the morning of the shower, there was no trace of it. No apology from the manager either - just shrugged her shoulders with a "better luck next time" attitude. Perhaps the cafe is good for drop ins, but do not consider it for catering.

Yelp
I came here for a quick bite while I was in the area. I ordered the passionfruit juice and Enroladinho de Queijo which they described as coconut bread filled with mozzarella cheese. They heated up the enroladinho de queijo, which melted the cheese inside and made the bread soft and fluffy. The sweet coconuty bread balanced really well with the salty cheese inside, and I enjoyed this a lot. The passionfruit juice was more icy than I anticipated, but the fresh flavor was definitely there. It was very sour and sweet, and it tasted like I was biting into a real passionfruit. The service was friendly, and the inside was lively and bright.

Yelp
One of my favorite cafes to eat and get some work done in the city! The staff are always friendly and helpful. They have multiple locations but this one is the biggest in terms of seating and space. As a cheese lover, I always get their Cheese bread sandwiches. Their cheese bread are 100x better than as the ones you get at a Brazilian steakhouse. I love the avocado, tomato, and mozzarella sandwich with an egg to top it off. A light but filling breakfast sandwich to eat anytime of the day! My other favorite of theirs is their Enroladinho de Queijo. It's this sweet coconut bread with mozzarella inside. And each bite makes you wanna slap your knee every time. Lol If only they sold bags of this bread I would definitely bring this to share with family and friends who aren't from the area.

Yelp
We usually visit the Leavenworth location when we're in the SF area but finally stopped by this location after a Leeds watch party nearby. This spot is amazing, the food is delicious and it's so cute. We took a bunch of items home- Coxinha, pao de queijo, and some other items the staff recommended to us as well as some passion fruit juice. The passion fruit juice and Coxinha are a must for me whenever I visit. They also offer frozen items, but we knew we'd be eating these pretty quickly over the week. When we got back to Sacramento we put some of the items in the oven. I heated them at 450F for about 8 minutes and kept an eye on them. I think an air fryer would do a great job reheating them too. We stocked up on their hot sauce from a previous visit and it's perfect on their food. It's also really unique with some good heat. So glad we checked out this location.

Yelp
What a pleasant experience! I got the submarino and enjoyed the richness of the chocolate mixed with espresso. I also got the pastels (beef, and cheese separately) and they were wonderful fresh. I meant to get a picture...but ate them too quickly. They came with a nice pepper jam, though I'd have preferred a little more peppery and a little less sweet. My Brazilian friend is on his way to try to pastels as we speak (write) so I will update with a picture of his as well as his opinions. Would recommend! Seating is also pretty casual and comfy, and service was quick.

Yelp
Cafe de Casa is a Brazilian cafe/restaurant on the outskirts of Castro. I came with a friend, and we ordered the Brazilian Cheese Sandwich with Ham & Cheese, and an acai bowl. Both were superb, and were a great snack for the afternoon. Cafe vibes were great - not too loud, so we were able to catch up and enjoy the food. Overall, I would definitely come back to try some of their main plates / entrees!

Yelp
We came here on a recommendation from our Uber driver who happened to be Brazilian. This is a great little hole in the wall place and we were lucky to get one of the few tables inside. The ambiance inside is very cute and bathroom was very clean. They had samba music playing in the background, so I felt like we were whisked away to Rio de Janeiro for a bit. The location was very convenient as it was right across the street from the hotel we were staying at and well within walking distance. My daughter ordered the açai bowl, which was truly amazing. Hubby and I got different tapioca crepes (I ordered vegan, while he ordered ham and cheese). We really didn't know what to expect. The outside of those were a bit weird. We didn't quite dig the texture. When I think of crepes, I think of something smooth. Not something gritty and chewy. I wish we would have tried some of the other dishes. The pão de queijo (cheese bread) looked amazing, but we were full after our breakfasts. We thought we would have another chance to try them, but our time in the city was short, so we didn't get to visit again. I highly recommend the fresh passionfruit juice and the mocha coffee that my hubby ordered!

Yelp
I can't believe I've lived in this neighborhood for a year and have only just come here - and only originally due to a Muni delay! I left Castro Muni to grab the F Market after a long service delay and, while I waited, I decided to pop in here because it looks so cute from outside. Well, it's even cuter, cleaner, and more spacious once you step inside. I was excited by the Brazilian pastries and coffee drinks (in addition to some "standard" options) and, boy, did they deliver. For coffee, I ordered the L'Avelã, which is basically a latte in a cup lined with the Portuguese / Brazilian version of Nutella -- and it's GREAT. Just the perfect amount of chocolatey sweetness, less overpowering than a mocha. For my snack, I ordered the Enroladinho de Queijo. The combination of the mild melty cheese and the sweet coconut topping on this super soft, warm roll is perfection. I'm so glad I picked this, but there were a ton of other options I want to come back and try. To top it all off, the service was great. I was running so late to work given the transit issues and then, of course, the F Market came early - right after I paid for my order. Without even really asking, the women working overheard what was happening and rushed my order to the front of the queue and were able to get me the coffee and snack in time to make the train. Extremely thoughtful. I can't wait to come back. This is definitely the best coffee shop in Castro!

Yelp
Lattes and different small biteables are yummy. Staff is nice and it's a cool atmosphere inside. Parking is as usual a nightmare for touristy areas as usual.

Yelp
Delicious pastries and good coffee. The seating area is decorated beautifully. Try the hot sauce, surprisingly spicy. They have it available for purchase too.

Yelp
Got a smoothie and spent a few hours on my laptop here. The smoothie was lovely and filling. The ambience is superb, very clean and spacious. Seats were comfy and wifi was fast. What more could one want! Will go back here whenever I'm in town! Food and coffee looks really good too.

Yelp
Looooved this place. The Milanese sandwich was crispy with fresh toppings. Açaí bowl was perfect size with good ratio of granola. Cafe bonbon was a sweet treat.

Yelp
The beef empanadas were comically awful. I've stopped into the cafe many times for their sandwiches which were great, and I decided to order some empanadas today. Whoa. Whoa buddy. They sent me pillows of dry puffed up dough with a thimble of beef inside each one, with a "side of cabbage salad" which was in a tiny salsa container. They should be called airpanadas. The only saving grace was the chicken sandwich with bacon and cream cheese, which was good, otherwise I'd be giving a 1-star review. I honestly laughed at how bad it was. Don't believe me? Look at the pictures.

Siddhartha G.

Yelp
Quite a disappointing return visit, the service was indifferent, the acai was too watery and the peanut butter I added on was carelessly dropped on top. A rather unappetizing meal for not cheap.
google avatar

Cindy C.

Yelp
I discovered a fantastic spot with friendly staff, a clean atmosphere, and delicious food. The açaí bowl was refreshing, perfectly complemented by sweet granola. A close second is the Fricasse de Frango, featuring creamy chicken and crunchy shoestring potatoes. It's a heavy dish so I recommend getting it for lunch. The Disco pastry, a breaded beef patty, was surprisingly delightful which makes a great snack. It's a great place to study ONLY on the weekdays if you don't mind some noise, and no laptops on the weekend. It's about $20+ per person if you are planning on ordering a full meal. Street parking is the only option. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

Yelp
Never ventured down 17th cause I thought there was just a greasy spoon. A friend kept raving about this Brazilian cafe. Ok, ok, whatever. So I walked over and ordered the coconut bread. Cue angels singing, omg, delicious, truly heavenly! There's lots of sweet & savory pastries to choose from, but you know how it is, I'll be ordering the coconut bread every time. UPDATE: Ok, I lied. Stopped in today & had the Americano de Presunto for breakfast. Baked bread dough filled with ham, cheese, and tomato. Added to my favorites list.

Yelp
This is a delightful cafe at 17th/Castro/Market, with really nice peaceful ambiance, unique serving ware and really a very pleasant place to eat. BUT, I ordered the Abraçadinho de Sascha, which is supposed to be turkey sausage, bacon and cheese. In reality, it was bacon, cheese and a hot dog, so I was not at all happy with that. The cappuccino was lovely, but I took my croissant home, threw away the hot dog and ate the rest of the sandwich. This was the one disappointing thing about the visit. I suggest checking the food to see if it is actually what you ordered before eating. Otherwise, I need to be up in that area again, so will return, but will double check my order to make sure it is accurate.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Came for some small snacks (veggie empada, coxinha) and they are very good. The house made hot sauce is also killer, in both the spice level and how good it is! Perhaps it is a bit pricey, but it is quality stuff and unique (at least for me visiting from central New York). The place could use a few more outlets and they have a no laptop policy on the weekends. I guess that's good so that people don't sit there all day...
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by because Uber driver suggested. Cafe with a variety of Brazilian pastries and drinks. Our cashier was super friendly and patient as we gave our order. She even remembered my friend's name as we left the cafe. :) Pao de Quiejo has a nice crispy crunch at the bottom and a bouncy chew from the cheese. Tastes great hot or cold (I do prefer hot though). Brigadeiro House Specialty was really good. The side is coated with Nutella. Fudgy but not too overly sweet. The milk alternatives include coconut, almond, soy, and oat. Would definitely come back again to try other pastries and drinks.

Yelp
Have been craving Brazilian food since I discovered my previous favorite Brazilian cafe was pro-police and I had to stop supporting them. My partner had been to Cafe De Casa's other location near Fisherman's Wharf and recommended we check this location in the Castro out! We arrived just after they opened at 8am on a Saturday. The place was mostly empty but the staff was hard at work setting up the bakery case and preparing for customers. The space was clean and inviting, a decent amount of seating and light and airy vibe. Staff were friendly! They had tons of options: a menu by the door, on the wall, the items in the case, and a chalkboard with specials. We ended up getting coffees, Pao de Quejo, an acai cup, a coxinha and one of the specials, a Brazilian guava donut. Everything was awesome!! My mocha had heaped cocoa powder on top (Giving Milo dinosaur?), and my partners coffee was good too. I dipped my pao de quejo (fried cheese ball) in the mocha and wow that was a good move. The coxinha, which is this amazing shredded chicken snack made with fried yuca flour, was so savory and satisfying. The acai cup was smaller than we wanted but we probably should have gotten a bowl and not a cup! Brazilian donut (Sonho Goiabada) with guava was very sweet but the perfect end to the meal! I will note that there is a no laptop policy on the weekend and that they ask you to limit your visit to 75 minutes! Overall, a great spot, delicious Brazilian food that is hard to find, and I will certainly be back!!
google avatar

Yelp
Bright and inviting, this Brazilian cafe is a delightful spot for a casual catch-up. Their breakfast and lunch menus are brimming with flavor, and their fresh juices are a perfect pick-me-up. Don't miss the tempting pastries or the authentic Brazilian cheese bread sandwiches. And high quality coffee of course. Friendly service and a bright, stylish atmosphere make it a true neighborhood gem.

Yelp
It's one of the BEST COFFEE! I am very picky when it comes to my coffee, I don't just buy coffee from everywhere, but since one of the laseraway employee recommended this place to me, Since then I come here EVERY MONTH. I CAN NOT LEAVE THIS BEHIND every time I have a laseraway appointment. Try the Brigaderio House special iced coffee. It's ONE OF THE BEST COFFEE I've ever tried. Great service Great food Good ambiance GREAT COFFEE 10 out of 10

Yelp
Ahh lots of amazing looking pastry and regret not ordering more, lol. We were visiting SF and stopped by to grab a quick brunch to get some energy. We ordered an acai bowl, a pastry (I forgot which one), and a coffee. Everything was yum and was super full off the acai bowl. Really wished we ordered some extra pastry to-go, but I'll make sure to visit again whenever I'm in SF. It looks like there's a couple of locations in SF, so I recommend trying to locate one of their stores and grabbing brunch here. Btw the long lines might look intimidating, but after standing in line and ordering, it probably took about 15 - 20 minutes, which isn't too bad. Overall, it is very trendy and has an Instagramy vibe. Definitely stop by and grab some Brazilian goods.

Yelp
Came here after SoulCycle and really loved the food options here! Good: - All the food here is amazing - honestly 10/10 the only reason I took off a star is for the slow service - Super cute aesthetics - very lit up on the inside and good vibes - Really great Rissole - got the beef and corn one and for the price it's super worth - Huge fan of the PB Acai bowl - surprisingly filling Bad: - Had our order go missing for a while and someone finally got their food 30 minutes later Overall really like the food here and will come back!

Yelp
This is my GO TO place in Castro! Gluten free Brazilian food, great coffee, and a lovely aesthetic environment. I have always been treated well by the staff. This time I had the Escondidinho de Camarão - so so so flavorful! Stop in - one minute walk from the Castro Muni Station. No laptops on weekends though!

Rachel L.

Yelp
Wonderful Brazilian cafe with the best people and the best food. Highly recommend the cafe bombon and literally any of their baked goods. They were super busy the Sunday morning we went, but they did such a great job getting orders out quickly & were so nice too.
google avatar

Jeanette M.

Yelp
The coffee was superb along with the yummy pastries. The place was clean and light and the establishment asks its patrons to have a technology free experience which means not having your computers or cell phones away. It was a really nice place to go in the Castro!

Thom W.

Yelp
We have walked past here for years, and I don't know why!!!! This Cafe has has a wonderful atmosphere of chattiness and welcomeness that you could find. Add the graciousness of the staff and it's amazing. We went for a late breakfast, and then went back the next day for a late breakfast. We ordered the Peanut Butter Açaí bowl, which was the perfect blend of açaí and peanut butter smoothie with the fresh fruit and granola on top. Add a pastry and it's perfect for brunch. Well worth your time and I'm so glad we slowed down and did a double take.

Mike Y.

Yelp
The food and service were great, and the price was fair. The only downside was the relentless flies outside, which might make me opt for takeout next time. But overall, it's a solid spot with delicious food.

Yelp
I tried the coxhina and americano de salsicha and they were so good! I'd definitely come back here again! Also the staff is super friendly and I felt so welcomed.

Yelp
Delicious chicken Coxinha and corn rissole. We wanted a light snack and they hit the spot! Be aware, the orange sauce is spicy!

Yelp
Living in Orlando, I have no shortage of amazing pao de queijo or Brazilian food. As we were hanging out in the Castro district, we ran across this little shop and as it smelled heavenly we decided to pick up a few treats. Immediately we were greeted as if we were regulars and the gentleman patiently answered all our questions and made some suggestions. I ordered (way too many for my own good) pao de queijos and my daughter got the Kibbeh, regular, one stuffed with cheese and Chicken Stuffed potato. The pao was so good, warm, and gooey! SO GOOD. Being of Lebanese descent, we grew up on Kibbeh and she couldn't stop raving about it. Normally you don't see it stuffed with cheese but she said that was really, really good also. So much so, that my 2-year-old grandson grabbed it and ate the whole thing, and it is LARGE. My daughter raved about the Chicken stuffed potato (I don't eat meat anymore so I couldn't try any of her choices) but said she would absolutely have to go back for more. She lives there, so it is easier for her, not so much for me. Great little place... oh and the coffee is awesome too!

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! Was in SF for a little and came here based on a friend's recommendation. The service was OUTSTANDING!. Very friendly staff. Super cute decorations . We had 2 people with allergies and the server was so knowledgeable about every ingredient in every dish. His recommendations were perfect. We had the coxinha, cheese bread, Escondidinho Vegano. Very good hot sauce, and a couple other dishes. All 10/10. Will be returning next time I'm in town for sure!

Yelp
Ever since a good friend of mine introduced me to Cafe de Casa, I have always always loved it! Super pleased to know that they made it through the ups and downs of the pandemic (they opened in the middle of it, I believe) and are thriving in a lovely space in the Castro area. Always a generous amount of food when you order, and the staff are just so lovely and nice! Most menu items have a description of what it is, but the staff are always up to explain if you have any further questions. My person favorites are the Pao de Queijo, Açaí, and the shepherd's pie-like dish with shredded beef :)
google avatar

Paulo C.

Yelp
Great spot for breakfast and lunch. Today we ordered Açaí bowl with orange juice. The açaí reminds that one I ate in Brasil.... Without extra fruit mixed. I really suggest this place

Leonardo F.

Yelp
The food is delicious. There are very few places in the Castro (and in San Francisco, in general) that have quality food and drinks, which is a pleasant surprise considering the long menu. The staff is great, too, friendly and efficient. Before Cafe de Casa took over this space, there were a few short-lived cafes that didn't take off. There's a reason why Cafe de Casa has lasted, even through the pandemic.
google avatar

Dayna L.

Yelp
Large, delicious, and refreshing smoothie bowls for a good price! I love toppings so appreciated all the granola and fruit, but if you prefer more smoothie bowl you may want to ask for less granola! The location on Leavenworth has limited indoor seating. Also, the outdoor seating can be a bit difficult due to the slant/hill, but just be careful and it's no problem! The staff is friendly, the food is fast, and you conveniently order at the counter then they serve it to you!

Yelp
Amo la comida de café de casa, el servicio es bastante bueno y el ambiente es súper nice

Yelp
Love the clean aesthetic of this cafe. I am a fan of Brazillian pastries & food and there is not a lot in SF. Cozy interior, and there is seating with wifi & some outlets however they warn you about screen-free weekends. I got some cheese rolls, the sandwich with bacon, chicken & cream cheese, as well as the beef & corn pastry. That pastry was filling that I regretted ordering the sandwich.
