Cafe De Nook

My fiancée and I came in today (Wednesday around noon), and ordered a muffin and a smoothie. The muffin prices were good, but balanced by the disappointing muffin, which completely lacked anything inside of it, while having chocolate chips on the top. This is consistent with my fiancée's blueberry muffin a few years ago, which had no blueberries inside, just on the top. The smoothie was priced in a pretty average way, but tasted watered down and like it was half ice, which was disappointing to say the least. The service was okay. The barista didn't notice us when we came in, and we didn't really feel like we were greeted upon entry. This wasn't necessarily a problem, just didn't contribute to the visual atmosphere, which was very cutely decorated. The outside (well-shaded) tables were locked up and closed despite it being a perfect ~70-75 degrees in the shade today. My guess from the other reviews is that this might be an excellent place to go for good quality coffee, but the non-coffee offerings felt slightly below average in both quality and in price to us.

Great, great, great place in downtown Columbus. With the BEST cold brew I've ever tasted and the BEST owner I've ever encountered! It is really a pleasure and honor to have spent a most lovely Friday morning with my wife here. Nicest mood came from the owner's kindness! Will definitely go back again if we got the chance.

My "Go To" coffee shop.. Everyone is always so friendly, and their coffee is always hot and right on time!! Quite a few specialty items as well if you want to reward yourself with a delicious treat!! The ambiance is cool for work, or to catch up with a friend!! I can't say enough great things about this place.. I have been going since I worked in the building, and now that I no longer work there, I still try to find my way back as much as I can... AND will continue to do so!!! Highly recommended!! They didn't give me an option to put a few more stars! 9/5!!

I got the cookies and cream blended beverage, my friend got a chai tea iced latte with brown sugar and carmel drizzle. We both agreed this is one of the best coffee shops we've tried in Columbus! The lady working was wonderful and we really enjoyed talking to her. We both paid around $5-6 for our coffees.

I was just stopping by to get a coffee before going on a bus and I was obsessed! 🥺 The atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming with the aesthetic decoration. The owner and the staff are professional, fast, and friendly. And the latte are sooooooo good! 1000/10. I have to grab another cup of pumkin spice latte before leaving. Thank you so much guys for this place. If I am back downtown Columbus, I will definitely be back here for a cup of latte. ☕️

Cozy but also cramped And for how busy it was, the staff still made time to talk to me while making my drink. Great espresso especially given the price. It's cheaper than some well / coffee \ pot stuff. It's a little on the acidic side than what I'm used to but still really good.

The food is great, big fan of stopping in some mornings and getting a coffee. I've tried quite a few things from their menu and think i really enjoy a simple cold brew with a shot of sweetener. They can really make everything here and ita usually really quick

Great coffee shop! Hard to find, but it’s inside the building. If you go around the back there’s a sign and a little sitting area. Maybe they should put a sign on the main road saying the cafe is inside. Anyways great coffee, great muffins, cute vibe.

I loved it. What a perfect little cafe. Has everything you'd want, literally. The cafe looks stunning with beautiful furniture and lights. The barista was perfect and suggested a drink for me after l told her what I liked. I had Joyce's Java. It was an incredible, life changing coffee. I should've gotten a picture of it, but I was too excited. If you are around the commons area PLEASE go here.

What a cute place and walking distance from our downtown hotel. Great coffee and a super creative menu. Our only regret is that they're closed on the weekend so my wife did not get to visit!

I stopped here looking for some caffeine on a long road trip. I ordered a latte with vanilla and was tempted by the scrumptious looking blueberry muffin, so I added one of those to my order as well. The interior of the cafe is charming and decorated in an over-the-top Parisian style. The woman working as barista was friendly and provided fast service. My latte was good, but I didn't get much vanilla flavor and the coffee tasted a bit a harsh compared with other lattes I've tried. Perhaps they didn't use as much cream as others. It still did the trick and was enjoyable enough. Not sure where their baked goods come from, but the blueberry muffin was absolutely delicious. We sat at a table and ate our treats while sipping our drinks before we left. There were a few people doing work on computers, but otherwise it was pretty slow and mostly empty while we were there on a Friday early afternoon. My wife ordered the Parisian Fog, which I thought was tastier than my latte. She enjoyed it along with her French Vanilla muffin in the Parisian atmosphere. Since I'm not living in Columbus, who knows when I'll be back, but it was a positive experience overall, and I would recommend to anyone looking for coffee in the area.

This place is so cute! There's typically a crowd from the business above that comes in at 9am but the baristas are quick! And they don't sacrifice flavor in their espresso or coffees for how quick they are!! I highly recommend their iced lattes with oat milk. If you are celiac or gluten free like me they have a couple of options like kind bars, gf oatmeal cups, and this protein bar (my personal fav)! Their bagels and muffins look great too! Love the atmosphere and definitely a must-go place if you're looking for a great cup of coffee in Columbus!

Cafe de Nook is awesome :) Went here for the first time with my manager to co-work last fall, and I stopped in again at some point this Spring. It's a little bit of a pain to get to this place because it's right downtown located in the lobby of an office building. You're stuck with the paid street parking around the building, but it's still worth it. It's small, quaint, and Parisian-inspired on the inside. The drinks are creative, and their seasonal menu options will likely always be the go-to for me. In the fall I had a hot blue moon latte that I'll never forget, and in the spring I had a rose latte. The rose latte was lovely too! There is a reason that this spot is one of the top coffee spots in the city. Definitely check it out at least once if you haven't been.

I absolutely love this coffee shop. It is oddly located in a big office building, but once you're inside, it feels as if you've traveled to a far outpost of Paris (well, you have). The coffee is delicious (I assume the tea is, too), and there is also a lovely menu and some snacky items. The decor is so cute! There's a mix of table and couch type seating. Also: an outdoor patio for warmer weather! Any time a coffee shop has bookshelves, I'm in alt. The best part is the owner. She's so lovely and really makes this coffee shop a warm, welcoming place.

The most homey coffee shop. I love the ambiance, and the cozy feeling. The coffee drinks are excellent. The staff is always friendly and helpful! Prices are the same as most places. It can get loud if there are a lot of people in there, but great place for a coffee date. I love stopping here while in Columbus.

I adore this place! It's a little tricky to find but it's inside the lobby of a big office building. Once I found it, I had likely the best holiday drink of my life--Naughty and Nice latte w/ oat milk. On a Friday, it's not overly crowded so you can lounge and read or work without feeling claustrophobic. It's so so cute. A must-see! And the owner is a doll. She understands the meaning of customer service. :)

Lovely coffee shop with a nice French theme! Expansive menu of drinks both coffee and tea so bound to be something for everyone. The baristas are always friendly and always great you with a smile. The Wi-Fi is also very reliable. I've come here to work from home the past two days and feel like I could've stayed the whole day. If you're in downtown Columbus looking for a nice local coffee shop I would highly recommend!

Cafe de nook was cute, I've been exploring coffee shops to work at so I'd say this was a pretty okay one. It wasn't super noisy and had an eclectic feel to it. I'm only deducting a star because the coffee tasted a bit on the burnt side. 8/10 for the vibes 4/10 for workspace (very small) 7/10 for the food and drinks 8/10 for the noise level 10/10 for friendly staff They did have free wifi too.

A small secret spot in downtown that often gets overlooked by passerby's. Located in the 175 building that directly looks onto the Columbus Commons. The overall vibe is very welcoming. Very Parisian, shabby chic decor. The menu is very large with a wide range of drink options. I got an iced dirty chai latte with oat milk which tasted great. I believe there was also a case of baked goods and pastries. There was some indoor seating available and during the warmer months, there is outdoor tables that would look onto the commons The owner was working when I went and she was so sweet and very welcoming. Was willing to make just about anything you asked. Since downtown traffic has been down with the pandemic, parking is fairly easy. There are plenty of on street meters available on 3rd St & High St as well as other surrounding streets and the parking garage for the Columbus Commons. Hours are definitely limited, which can be a bummer, but if you ever decide to make a trip downtown to see the tulips in the spring at the Columbus commons or take a walk around the scioto mile, this is the perfect place to stop before or after for a drink.

This quaint little café is nestled in the back of the 175 on the Park building. It's easily accessed from the Columbus Commons. To eat, there are pre-made deli sandwiches, chips, pastries/donuts/bagels, and snacks like Kind bars. Many different coffees drinks. My favorite is the Café Bon Bon. It has 4 shots of espresso....the perfect afternoon pick-me-up! Although this place is small, most people get their stuff to go or sit outside on nice days, so it usually doesn't feel crowded. The tables have electric outlets or power strips close by so it's a good place to go to and get work done, however the free wi-fi is a bit spotty at times. Bathrooms are located just down the hall in the office building.

This place deserves its 100+ 5 star reviews. Visiting from out of town and needed a place to get some work done. Coffee was reasonably (if not under) priced. Owner is extremely nice and attentive. Not sure why it said not good for working in the descriptor. WiFi and comfortable seating. Highly recommend.

The coffee and tea is five stars by itself, but what truly keeps me coming back is the atmosphere. This place makes me feel like I'm in the worlds favorite romance movie that's set in Paris or somewhere in New York. The owner is around every so often and she is extremely humble and kind along with her right hand mate. I don't get to come here often due to my work schedule but when I can I take the opportunity to have a awesome experience.

Cafe de Nook is kind of hidden. It's located on the ground floor in the back of an office building. I really like the Parisian theme. There's some seating both inside and outside. I've tried a latte and hot chocolate. Both were good - especially the hot chocolate. I don't have hot chocolates often but it was so good. Compared to other local coffee shops downtown, the prices are about the same or just slightly more than other local places (not including Starbucks and Parable which are definitely the most expensive downtown options). In any case, I think I'd go back to Cafe de Nook in the future.

After a quick stop at the dentist, I decided I wanted to venture downtown and try a new place. Why not! Since the temp high was forecasting around 64 degrees, and it was a bit chilly walking around in a short sleeve tee, I knew Hemmingway's was the perfect answer! Great place to curb my pre-cold-fall grumpies. Teresa is a friendly, personable owner; her, and the gentleman working. The space is small and quaint, so easy to chitchat. The decor and accessories scream Parisian Life. Dark metal meets pastel and white wood. I love that the "Favorites" drinks' names pay homage to famous Persians of the 1920s. The chai was wonderful. Besides the milk-based Oregon Chai used here, mixing it up with hot chocolate was such a treat! Creamy and delish. Not water-based like Starbucks. A sprinkle of coco and cinnamon was a great touch. I also went for their 16oz Chocolate Chai and the displayed vanilla coconut cupcake. The dessert was very good and rich. I couldn't finish it all. Note to self, for next time. Definitely a great sweet buzz to pick you up on a boring work afternoon! There is a small framed chalkboard with their food options, which are in the cold casing. Not a huge selection, but perfect for people who want a quite bite to eat. Coffee/espresso drinks are their forte, and I love how they concentrate on that!

Wanna step into a parisian cafe in the heart of downtown Columbus? I absolutely love the cozy atmosphere here! I am a lover of cafes and coffee. I walked in for food but stayed because their coffee menus were overflowing with different varieties and I was like yeah, gotta get one. I got a turkey sandwich, and a gingerbread latte. I enjoyed the sandwich, simple and light. And the latte indeed tasted like a gingerbread cookie in milk. I was pleasantly surprised. I love to come here and write journals and read articles. It's a small space but that's what I love about it. It is small enough to not feel so overwhelming and nice enough to feel like your at home! 4 stars for all the great sips! This coffee nook is the place to be!! Stay for the coffee!

This place's coffee options are as great as it gets. There are a ton of drink options and the comfiest seats you will find in any of the coffee shops around town. They also get their beans from Luck Bros (another one of my Columbus favorites) and have a lot more food options than I've seen at a lot of the other coffee shops around Columbus. I just wish they had more pastries too. The only thing is the parking can be tough if you're downtown and the wifi isn't always the fastest.

This is a super cool shop hidden in an office building right off of the commons. I only tried the tea (they have Harney And Sons which if you haven't had it, is some of the best "non-local" tea you can get,) but they have many interesting sounding coffee drinks that looked amazing. The service was super quick, and I definitely will be back!

On an afternoon with some downtime before an appointment, I was in the mood to explore a new local coffee shop. After a quick yelp search I came across Cafe de Nook & am SO happy that I came in for a visit. The shop is in a bit of strange location attached to an office building facing the Columbus Commons. The inside is warm, welcoming & with the perfect amount of quirky "Parisian" decor. I was welcomed immediately upon entering and the barista helped me decide on the "Gertrude Stein"- a hot espresso drink with white chocolate and raspberry. I asked for half the amount of usual syrup and no whip cream- it was PERFECT. One little bonus surprise- they have a collection of adult coloring books to enjoy! Highly recommend giving Cafe de Nook a visit if you're in need of a relaxing hour of "self care." I can't wait to come back!

How did I not know about this place before. So glad I use Yelp to find a coffee place and this place popped up. It is located in a business building, tucked right next to the help desk. I got the Joyce Java which was a minty latte a d man was it delicious. It really reminded me to the mint latte from Philz Coffee in California but cheaper lol. The layout and design was so cute and antique looking. The made the coffee quick. They do have food and I got the spinach bagel and it was okay. Not something I would ordered again but other people would prob like. I can't wait to come back again to try their other drinks . So yummy

LOVE! I always go here whenever I need a heavier pick me up than Starbucks. Used to go here nearly everyday when I worked downtown - highly recommend the espresso + condensed milk, very similar to a Vietnamese iced coffee and very strong!

Hemingway's Coffee Nook is a great coffee shop if you can find it. It's located in an office building that looks just like most others. The cool thing is it's located next to Columbus Commons. It's moderately priced for the quality. The inside is very inviting and a good place for reading. If you like an atmosphere that doesn't feel so corporate, you'll like it. It's weird that's true since this is located in an office building filled with corporate shills. The inside has lots of reading material and knickknacks dedicated to Hemingway including a replica of the Eiffel Tower. It's a nice place for reading a book. The coffee itself is good while not costing a fortune. It has a pretty big menu of cold and hot coffee. The Nutty Roast is about $3. It has almond and soy milk available. There's also smoothies. In Columbus there's lots of coffee shops but there's none that are like Hemingway's Coffee Nook. It's good finding something cool in an office building corporate wasteland for once. The coffee shop also has a patio offering a good view.

Such a nice coffee shop! I got the drink named after Hadley, Hemingway's first wife, and really enjoyed it. I love the decor inside. I also got a sandwich for lunch here and it was delicious. I can't wait to go back

Hemingway's is exactly what you want in a coffee shop: friendly staff, cute and comfortable vibe, affordable prices and GREAT coffee. No powder mixes here, so you can basically order drinks however you want them (I only do decaf, so this is important to me). I come here often since I work in the building, and the experience is consistently great. It's a good place to sit and get some work done or meet with someone, but it's a little noisy for phone calls. If you're looking for a treat, try the java chip blended drink -- it's so good!

If there was a speakeasy coffee shop in Columbus this would be it. It's a little hard to find, tucked away in an office building. It's a little gem which makes for a fun and exciting adventure! Walking in it's a small quaint shower shop that has a patio! The owner Theresa is extremely friendly, engaging and passionate about all things coffee. She shared with me all about how her business started and what inspired her to start Hemingway's. It's 1920's Paris themed and I've never seen a small space so perfectly organized and arranged. There's a Paris mural on the wall, cool antiques, old books and lots of great seating. It's a great place to get work done since yes they have outlets and free WIFI. They have an incredible assortment of speciality drinks and even had a seasonal fall menu. I ended up getting the Golden Pumpkin which was golden milk with turmeric, dates, and herbs with pumpkin spice, espresso, with whipped cream. Talk about unique! They get all their coffee from Luck Bros. My one knock is that's it's a little pricey but overall an amazing place with great coffee, unique drinks, and a great ambiance!

I came around 1 on a Friday with two friends. It was a lot smaller than I thought! Just a small room. I had trouble finding it but saw a sign outside the building. It's located in an office tower. I had to ask the janitor where to go when I got inside. You can also enter from another door that leads outside. The barista was super nice! She was smiley and had some great suggestions. I ordered the baklava latte as she said it was one of her favorites. It was very good! Kinda had the baklava taste. Not sure how they achieved that but it was fantastic! They serve Luck Bros coffee which I'm not usually a fan of, but it tasted just fine in my latte! I also got an almond croissant which was soft and buttery. Wow. So good! A few others came in here as well. Looks like it caters more to workers downtown. Not sure how often I'll come since I'm not downtown much, but I love that it's here!

I've been meaning to stop by this quaint little coffee nook for a good minute now and I was pumped to finally get a chance to stop in for a coffee and hang out. I drove by first and was a little confused on where to go. I eventually noticed a bright turquoise sign outside the building inviting people in and found a parking spot near by on and the street. I walked in through the buildings entrance, but once I arrived I noticed they do have their own entrance around the building. Just an FYI for anyone that felt a little lost like myself. The staff was quick to greet me and they were so very friendly. Both ladies had big smiles on their faces and appeared to enjoy what they do! I placed an order for a soy latte and right away they offered me the password to the internet. You can't go wrong with free wi-fi! That alone will get me back in no time! When I arrived the place was pretty quiet but it filled up quickly during my stay. The place has an adorable Parisian theme and is decked out in anything and everything French. You'll notice the Eiffel tower, Paris landmarks, and old school knick-knacks all over the walls and decor. It's almost like you gone back a few decades and you're sitting in a little nook in Paris. My drink didn't take long to be prepared and it was piping hot. It was just what I needed to get my day off to a fantastic start!

Finally made it down to this adorable Parisian inspired café! This place is so cute, and has so many good coffee's and pastries. You've got to check it out! or I could have spent so much more time here, the staff were nice and friendly, and explained the whole menu to me because there are so many choices, I had a hard time deciding. Finding this place can be a bit of a challenge, so I've left some pictures of the office building that it is tucked inside up to help you. I parked at a meter on town Street, super convenient. If they are not available, there is parking in the Columbus Commons garage. I definitely recommend checking out this cute little spot, and giving yourself more than just the 10 minutes I had. I would've loved to have curled up in the corner with a nice book about Paris and enjoyed my morning. Next time!

This is my new favorite coffee shop! It's small and charming. The owner is so nice. I ordered an iced 'ode to paris' latte and my husband got a seasonal lavender latte and they were so delicious. Every drink on the menu sounded fantastic and so I will have to keep coming back! There is also some light snacks--bagels, muffins, etc. We got a chocolate muffin and a blueberry bagel, both yummy! They also sell chocolate covered coffee beans, which are my husband's favorite so we had to get some and they are great! Parking can be a bit of an issue, since this is downtown. There is the commons parking garage right across the street but you will be paying $3+ for the parking convenience, which is a little pricey for grabbing a quick coffee. But don't let that stop you from trying this place out! No regrets!

OMG!! What a cute place?? What a good coffee? What a great location? What a fresh muffin?? This was the only fresh muffin I've ever had in my life! I challenge any one to eat muffin in any other places after trying this muffin! It is freshly baked for real! It melts in your mouth! I am sad I discover this place just now while I was in columbus for seven years! So sad but at least later better than never :) thank you for making Columbus so blessed with this nice and fresh place!

I didn't know this place existed until I started working in the area! Love this spot. Nice and cosy with a ton of drink options, from more traditional coffee and tea to fancier drinks. I was completely overwhelmed when I first visited, from the beautiful decor to the huge selection of drinks. They even have some sweets there (I got cookies and they were yummy!) if you're at the Columbus Commons, make sure to walk to the alley (headed toward Third) and visit them in the big office building.

This coffee shop is indeed an adorable little nook, tucked away on the ground floor of an office building. We went looking for it on a Saturday morning, and were very confused when entering through the revolving doors on the corner of 3rd and Town. The security guard behind the desk directed us around the corner, and -- et voila! -- la petite parisienne cafe! Seating is certainly limited, but the decor all points to 1920s Paris. Even the drinks are named after famed literati who were known to have spent time in France, including James Joyce, Gertrude Stein and (obviously) Ernest Hemingway. Several books by these and other Paris-friendly writers peek out among other ornamentation, and there's something convincingly quaint about the environment that makes you want to put pen to paper. I personally had a caramel latte (a "Hadley's High Rise"), while my girlfriend decided on a London Fog. Both drinks were tasty, though the London Fog was too hot to drink for a few minutes, and even too hot to comfortably carry (even with a sleeve). None of the pastries looked overly appealing to us, so we skipped those, and then decided to sit outside, since all the indoor seats were taken. Unfortunately, the outside seating was all tied up in cordage, so we ended up walking around the Commons instead. All told, the size, atmosphere, and adorableness of Hemingway's Coffee Nook warrants repeated returns, though it's not the easiest to get to as a casual place to drop by, and the limited seating is slightly prohibitive. But all told, it's a great place that all coffee, tea, and literature lovers should visit at least once.

I was astounded at how nice Hemingway'a Coffee Nook is. I literally feel like I'm in Paris, which is what the decorators were going for. Great coffee, good pastries, very relaxing and cool vibe. This is now one of my new favorite places.

You're hearing about how cozy it is...or maybe how delicious the pastries are or how excellent the coffee... There's no need for me to make a superfluous review so I'll say this, everyone who gave this place five stars is exactly right. This is a five-star coffee shop. If I could change anything, I'd give them more open hours so I could go there more often but otherwise, they are doing everything exactly right. This place is delightful and I cannot wait to come back again and again!

I had no clue Hemingway's was right on the Commons until I was scrolling through my Yelp feed and saw a check in! I'm the summertime I'm down here all of the time so I'm pretty stoked to have a cool coffee shop so close to the park. Saturday morning before getting ready for the Buckeye game festivities I stopped in to see what Hemingway's is all about. They have great reviews so far and I've been wanting to see the new Coffee Trail places ( several new cool places to check out, by the way). The barista working was awesome and I LOVE the cozy space with French style decor. The drinks are fitting with the whole novel theme as well which is pretty neat. I tried one of the specialty drinks, which was delish! They had several different baked goods to choose from, including the most delicious bagels ever! It was frigid out that morning but I can't wait to enjoy a morning on the little patio area right on the park when spring comes!!
