The 17 Best Restaurants In Burbank - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"This tiny Mexican breakfast spot is relatively new compared to some of the classic restaurants in the area (at least in Burbank years, 2015 was practically yesterday). It gets slammed on weekends, so be prepared to wait a bit. But stick around and you’re in for glorious machaca, huevos divorciados, and multiple cups of their signature, cinnamon-infused cafe de olla coffee." - brant cox, sylvio martins

Google
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! This great little shop is worth a trip. Many nurses at City of Hope said this is the best there is. The authentic "Cafe De Olla" is awesome. I usually order unsweetened black Americanos. But this was life changing. And the bakery items looked amazing. My wife loved one of the cream-filled ones. But they didn't have gluten-free items for me.

Google
Absolutely amazing... their bread is freshly made, everything we got was super soft. The ham, jalapeno, and cheese bollio was amazing! Fresh jalapeños and lots of filling. They had a good selection of cookies as well. The only downside is that aside from the herbal tea there were no options for coffee and dairy free items. Sadly I'm lactose intolerant and can't have coffee. I opted for their freshly squeezed orange juice instead and it was very refreshing, no added sugars and no added water either. The coffee items we did purchase for the family were tasty. They loved them. We purchased the abuelita latte and the café de olla latte. Our first time there and the Barnstable answered all our questions in detail. We will go back anytime we are in the area for sure.

I have been coming here for the past 2 years and always loved the food and their service. However, the past two times I’ve come here I’ve been extremely disappointed. The food lacked flavor and the side portions are so small. They barely gave me 7 small pieces of potatoes and called them home fries. The horchata, (which I used to love) tasted sour and was extremely thick and gooey with no cinnamon flavor. $9 for something that was not drinkable. The total was $70 for two lousy dishes and 2 undrinkable horchatas. Very overpriced!!! However, in the past we didn’t mind paying so much because it was always good quality food. We were extremely disappointed.

Delicious pasties and coffe! The girls are always polite and the guys. Very good FOH staff! Im a daily customer and I dont mind paying more for good quality food and fantastic customer service.

Google
So yummy and authentic I got the Cold Brew with “Cafe De Olla” Cold Foam and their Flan! So delicious. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. My new favorite daily stop for my daily dose of joe!

If you haven't tried the Maui cake, get the Maui cake! Coconut, pineapple heaven.

Google
This place serves the best pistachio cheesecake I’ve ever had — creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced with that nutty pistachio flavor in every bite. It’s indulgent without being overly sweet, and the texture is just heavenly. The cold brew café de olla is equally impressive — smooth, bold, and infused with warm cinnamon and spices that make every sip feel like a cozy hug. It’s refreshing yet comforting, and pairs perfectly with the cheesecake. My only wish is that they had tables to sit at — even a few outside — so you could enjoy these treats right there on the spot. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

So happy the shop finally opened. I definitely recommend the Mazapan latte!

Yelp
Great food and wonderful service! This has become a family favorite, and our go-to restaurant in Monrovia. Our family has tried lots of different dishes and every single one of them is great! We love that they serve breakfast all day. The Churro waffles are amazing! Even their beans and rice are so good you could have them on their own! Do yourself a favor and visit there Bakery case on the way out as well. :-)

Yelp
We ordered over the phone, thinking it would be ready by time we got there and it wasn't . We watched the staff make our iced mochas and it was 75% oat milk and ice. Very very overpriced for what it was. The taste was okay, but we were expecting much better for the price. We both threw away more than half of it Then we got a tiramisu cheesecake like cake and I took a bite and it tasted rotten... then I tried again and it definitely was spoiled. It was a beautiful cake, but definitely should not have been sold. was visiting town and overall very disappointed! Had good reviews, but we weren't really that impressed.

Yelp
Where do I begin !?!? Cafe de olla exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly and our waiter hector was very hospitable. The ambiance easily takes me back to a family owned Mexico City restaurant. The pan dulce is made in house which is good so you know they don't put out bread from the day before. You can see that this place is ran very well and professional. I got a cafe de olla (no pun intended) and it was one of the best cafe de olla's I've ever had, if not the best. It was sweet and you were able to taste the cinnamon. The Sinaloa combination really surprised me. In my house hold we fry the tamale and not a lot of people do that. So when I saw my plate with 2 fried tamales, I had a huge smile on my face. Very nostalgic feeling. The beans were ok, but nothing bad. Tasted like typical refried beans. The chilaquiles were the star of the plate. The salsa verde had lots of flavor and tasted like chilaquiles from Mexico. A little kick of lime, which comes from the tomatoes. Will order again when I come back. My friend got the waffle, which she almost finished, even though she said she was going to take half of it home. I think that goes to show you how good the waffle was ! Overall experience was 9.3/10. Only complaint is that I wish my food was a little bit more on the hotter side. It was warm and i personally like my food hot. Will be back again Thank you so much cafe de olla! ¡Volveré y con más hambre aun!

Yelp
I'm glad they have this right next to my work! I love their pastries and coffees especially of course their cafe de olla coffee or iced late! I also enjoy the abuelita iced late! I really like this place a lot but because there is only one person in the front register it can be slow once there is 3-4 people in line. However, the place is small nice and the main restaurant is close by. The music is fun haha

Yelp
Holy Smokes..... Wifey and I have been here 3 times in two weekends and this what we have tried. Iced Cafe de Olla- 5 Stars Hot Cafe de Olla- 5 Stars Cafe de Olla Late- 5 Stars Matilda Cake- 5 Stars Coconut Muffin- 5 Stars Cinnamon Apple Cheese Cake- 3 Stars Duabi Cheese Cake- 3 Stars Concha- 5 Stars Random Pateries- 5 Stars The service was excellent the girls working behind the counter were very nice and super helpful. Cleanliness exactly what you want especially when your buying food!!! Now the Cafe de Olla is definitely worth the visit hot or cold it deserves a stop. The muffins pastries and cakes are a safe bet, but for now I will steer clear of the Cheesecakes. They do have many assortment of Flan so maybe next time we will try the Choco and Cafe de Olla.

Yelp
Have I found my local "Porto's" substitute cute little bakery with great lattes and fresh bread. All the food aesthetically looked so good. Can't wait to come back and try more! Will be a spot I can bring these goodies to family gatherings as well.

Yelp
Good spot to scratch the brunch craving. This place gets packed, so try to get on the Yelp waitlist to minimize the wait time. We decided to get our usual breakfast favorite, waffles and French toast, with some coffee. We got an iced cafe de olla ($5.95), churro waffle ($13.95), berry crispy French toast ($17.75), and a hot cafe de olla ($4.95). It was disappointing to discover that the regular hot cafe de olla comes with refills, but the iced cafe de olla does not, especially with the iced version costing a dollar more. The cafe de olla tastes great so get the hot version for the unlimited refills. Both sweet dishes were yummy, and it worked out that we ordered the more expensive French toast plate because that also came with two eggs, two slices of your choice of meat (bacon, sausage, turkey sausage, or ham), and your choice of hash browns, home fries, or fruit. Having something savory with our order helped balance all the sugary stuff we were consuming. Parking in Old Town Monrovia is pretty easy. Look for street parking or any spot in the nearby parking lots.

Yelp
Amazing grab and go cafe with the best Cafe de Olla (I mean it's in the name). Located in a shopping center next to Planet Fitness, plenty of parking. They have a lovely pan dulce case and you can pick up whole cheesecakes, cakes, pies or you can by the slices in case you want to try a little taste of everything (like I did). This is more of a grab and go, not a full service restaurant. I also ordered a breakfast burrito and it was good but honestly the sweets are top notch. Friendly staff and nice clean layout. We do not live in the area but our daughter goes to school nearby so we will be stopping in often.

Yelp
Cafe de Olla is a coffee with cinnamon drink, and is usually served hot. But, you can get it iced or served as a cappuccino too. Other specialties are Hot Chocolate, and Ice Tea. The pan dulce is delicious, I bought an egg tart and elote sweet bread which is one of my childhood favorites. They do have a good variety of cakes, cookies and pastries that goes well with their beverages. The shop is very clean, the employees are helpful and the prices are reasonable. Another plus is that you will find plenty of free parking in the shared lot. Just roll on up, choose your items, pay in cash or credit card, enjoy and, most of all, don't forget to tell'em that Rosemary sent ya!

Yelp
Normally I dont go for American cakes, but i think im going to have to rethink that again after having visited cafe de olla! This is their bakery location as an extention to the restaurant in monrovia. They have such a large selection of baked goods here along with cake options. Their cake options seem to resemble portos, so im glad to have a closer option. We came here to pick up a cake for my son's 100 day celebration. The staff here was super nice and helped us pick a suitable cake. We opted for the red velvet and it was a crowd pleaser! We sliced very thinly, but was even able to serve 25+ people with it (though we really stretched it). We liked that it wasnt too sweet, the typical Chinese compliment, and it was moist and tasty! Im actually very intrigued with their milk and berries cake, im going to have to find a reason to get it for the next celebration!

Yelp
Not only is their cafe de olla top notch (this is coming from someone who doesn't drink coffee btw). I prefer the hot over the iced. Their conchas are bomb too better than most Panaderias. Airy, soft and just so perfect! I like to throw them in the microwave for a few seconds. I did try their chorizo breakfast burrito, it was good but pretty average. Their sweets and coffee is where it's at! Both times I've came in and received excellent service. So happy they are open early to accommodate all the people who work at 7am!

Monica L.

Yelp
My favorite place, EVER! So happy the bakery is open. The burritos are sooo good! Fresh and very rich in flavor. Filling and the salsa is good. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
I love Cafe De Olla in downtown Monrovia, so when they opened up the Duarte location, I was eager to try. It's a lot smaller than the Monrovia location and doesn't have any seating. It's not a sit down restaurant but more of a quick grab and go bakery. When you enter the store, there are pastries on the right side of the wall, cakes in the back of the store and croissants in the display area next to the cashier on the left. My husband and I had the signature iced cafe de olla and cold brew with cafe de olla cold foam. The cold brew is very smooth and the signature iced coffee is always a treat. I'm looking forward to trying the ham & cheese croissant and other pastries. A plus for nice staff.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
I ordered the cold brew with cafe de olla cold foam, and it was decent, but I thought the pricing was honestly way too expensive for what it was. Otherwise the service was so wonderful. There was a line and the man at the cash register was super nice and accommodating which I really appreciate. This place is also meant for a to-go place. There are no tables inside so keep that in mind.

Yelp
Cute new bakery location in Duarte, I love how early they open so it's nice to stop by if you start work early. The pastries here are good with plenty of selections, I personally really like the refugiado (guava and cream cheese strudel) and cubilete (mini cheese tart)!
google avatar

Ashley L.

Yelp
Super cute little coffee/bakery shop in a plaza that's easy to find parking. I got the cafe olla latte and the coffee flavor was fantastic. The flavor contains cinnamon, brown sugar, and some spices. It may not be everyone's cup of tea so I would stray away if you aren't open to trying new things. My friend got the vanilla latte and she said it was fantastic. The lattes are based with whatever milk you want (at no extra cost) and 2 espresso shots. The coffee was strong and smooth and would highly recommend this spot to anyone in the area trying to find a new local cafe! (:

Yelp
This place is filled with deliciousness. It is my go to spot for yummy treats to bring to any type of gatherings. In a big parking lot which makes it so convenient to get in and out. I haven't ordered the burritos or breakfast yet but I plan on going again soon. The pistachio frap was good too.
google avatar

Alina N.

Yelp
So glad this place was open early. Friendly cashier. Ordered the cafe de olla and several different pan dulces and cookies. I enjoyed the regular pan dulces more than the specialty pistachio one but overall was very good.
google avatar

Jen M.

Yelp
A perfect little place for coffee and baked goods or cake instead of the option if eating at the restaurant. A huge variety of baked goods, cakes, etc. Especially the famous Cafe de olla In the shopping area , besides Habit. The lady at that helped us was very nice & friendly. The place was nice & clean

Yelp
Finally, a coffee spot in Duarte that isn't Starbucks! Café de Olla Bakery & Café just opened and I'm so glad we gave it a try. The place is bright, super clean, and gives off that modern panadería feel--like your favorite neighborhood bakery but leveled up. I ordered the Ferrero iced latte and it was delicious. You could still taste the espresso--so it wasn't just syrupy sugar water pretending to be coffee (looking at you, chain cafés). It had a nice nutty, chocolatey flavor but still gave me that caffeine kick I needed. We also tried the chorizo burrito, and let me tell you, it wasn't just eggs with a hint of chorizo--it actually had a good portion of seasoned chorizo, fresh ingredients, and tasted homemade. They've got a ton of dessert options (chocoflan, carrot cake, creamy banana, and more), traditional pan dulce, ready-to-go cakes, and even birthday candles and cute toppers. The service was great too--the guy helping us was really nice and quick, which made the experience even better. Support local and skip the drive-thru--Café de Olla is a total win for Duarte!
google avatar

Joseph B.

Yelp
Unlike its other shop, this location focuses on the pan dulce more than a full breakfast dining experience. I have to admit, they have some of the best pan I've had albeit a little pricier than the smaller shops. I got a huge assortment of them and the consensus was they were all pretty good. The system is set up for self service and you just put on a tray and get checked out. Glad this one is closer to my house as I will look forward to trying more of their tasty pastries.
google avatar

A. P.

Yelp
The French fries were extremely under cooked. Very soggy and limp. No crunch at all. The food was overpriced but other than the fries it wasn't bad. The place was packed so I guess it's generally good. This was first time trying it and I ordered a veggie sandwich and pablano soup to go. If I was eating in the restaurant I would have asked for replacement fries.
google avatar

Elisa B.

Yelp
Got two mid coffees and somehow it costed me 17 dollars? We threw them out immediately. The first time I went a heavier set man didn't make eye contact with me or say hi when I walked in, he simply stared at his phone until I was face to face with him to pay for my drink. 2/2 misses. Overpriced for watered down drinks. Go to LA or other coffee shops actually worth the price and decent customer service.
google avatar

Erica L.

Yelp
This place is such a huge bonus for us who live in the city of Duarte. Today I finally got a chance to pop in. The staff are super friendly, the place is super clean, coffee is of course amazing, and all of the different bakery goods were fresh and delicious! I am so happy that we have this place nearby now. I applaud Café de olla for making the investment in our city.
google avatar

Yelp
My first time here, Alex was so nice and so welcoming. He gave us some samples on the amazing coffee and was so kind!! My new place for desserts and cakes!! Everything was amazing.
google avatar

Rima G.

Yelp
Stopped by this morning to try it out. Got an iced cafe de olla and some pastries. The store is cute and the service is fast and friendly! Would come back again.
google avatar

K S.

Yelp
Love the maui cake here. Its my favorite and the store is always clean. They let you try the coffee too
google avatar

Joey W.

Yelp
We were excited to try this new place in the area. Love the clean new aesthetic. It's very modern and clean! I tried an assortment on concha's and I enjoyed them all. I can't wait to go back and try the coffee !

Yelp
Cute little shop (owners are the same as the Monrovia restaurant) tucked in the Stater Brother's shopping center. They offer a nice variety of cafe de olla coffee selections (ie: regular cafe de olla, iced coffee, cafe de olla lattes, etc) and it definitely satisfied the craving and it wasn't overly sweet. Their bakery store front offered various pan dulces, breads, cake slices (I love this concept) and full sized cakes in their fridge. Overall, the price point is very reasonable, especially for a very good tasting cup of cafe de olla. Wait was very short (given that it was a random Thursday mid morning). Will be returning....
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
The cafe de Lola is my favorite. I went in for a coffee and left with cafe de Lola and about a million pastries. Definitely will go back- hopefully when I have time to dine and try the chillequilles.
google avatar

Layal S.

Yelp
Cafe de olla is one of the breakfast spots we have been going to lately. I love the variety in their menu. I always pick from the healthy options, and it never disappointed. The wait can be long. Get coffee from their bakery side to get more value for your money. The service is great and it's great family ambiance.

m p.

Yelp
Except for finding parking, I love this place! I have always had top notch service, + one of the hostesses is very sweet. I always bring home the mini pecan pies, even tho they're pricey. They serve a lot of food, which is great bc I look forward to another meal from one.
google avatar

Danielle P.

Yelp
Tried this new place near me and all I can say is, it's amazing! They had soo many options from burritos to bread and even cakes! I went happily home with a delicious cafe de olla and a box full of pan dulce! I hope this place does really well and I can't wait to come back to try everything!
google avatar

Foody L.

Yelp
I truly enjoy getting my coffee everyday Thursday. I don't live in the city or else I will be here every day. My family enjoys the sweet bread . The chap-pin is my baby's favorite . I love the "casuelitas". I ordered an iced shaken expresso(oat milk) with brown sugar cold foam.
google avatar

Anthony M.

Yelp
The space is beautifully decorated, very clean and organized. However, as someone who doesn't speak or read Spanish, I spent about 10 minutes just looking over the bread and Googling what each item was. I wasn't greeted during my visit and only got help after I asked about a specific bread. Since your customer base is expanding, it would really help to label each bread with a short description, and please, include the price (unless I entirely missed it, it would still be helpful to include the price next to the name). 85°C Bakery executes this well, and adopting that approach would make the experience smoother and more welcoming. I bought 2 bread and didn't know the price until checkout... $5.53 felt a bit steep without that info upfront. A little more clarity would go a long way.
google avatar

Jasmin A.

Yelp
I love visiting new coffee shops! I ordered the mazapan latte and caramel frap. The shop was very clean and loved all the variety of baked goods.
google avatar

Luna H.

Yelp
Wow for a first timer I loved everything from the friendly staff to the tasty bread. The second you walk in it smells so good and you are greeted with a smile. I got a Cuerno and muffin banana and they were soooo soft and yummy. I also got a 20oz cafe de olla for my sibling and for myself, a 16 oz Pistachio frappe substituted with almond milk. I cannot believe they weren't crazy busy considering they have only been open for less than a month. Cannot wait to come back again!

J D.

Yelp
Sweet bread was staled! Worker, I believe was manager was ruded and very unfriendly. This is not the first time, I thought I'd give them another chance; didn't work out well. I do not recommend this place.
google avatar

Johana D.

Yelp
While the store decor looked great. I did not care for the cafe de olla. The taste of Clove was strong, it may have been some other ingredient but I was unable to fish my drink. I also got a burrito and it was meh, more tortilla than anything. Seems like they used an x-large tortilla with minimal food inside. I also grabbed some pan dulce and that was okay. Not worth the price but it was better than the other two items.
google avatar

Alexa G.

Yelp
Many interesting bakery choices. Perfect for building a sample box for friends. Service was very friendly. I participated enjoyed my brown sugar latte. Appreciate their early hours.

C I.

Yelp
I've been going here for years and it's always great food and service! And the coffee is always the best!!
google avatar

L G.

Yelp
Delicious coffee, friendly helpful service. Grabbed some bread to accompany my coffee and bread was soft and delicious as well.

Lauren O.

Yelp
I had the most awful experience today. I researched online for a good Mexican cafe that is authentic. I read their reviews, read the menu items etc. I hyped myself up and everything. I love cafe de olla and it is on of my favorite drinks aside from champurrado and It was awful. It was more than a day old and not authentic at all. It just tasted like a powdered cinnamon tea. They didn't even use canela or piloncillo (the main ingredients)I spent a lot too because I also bought a burrito and some pan dulce that wasn't even fresh. I want my $ back!
google avatar

PJ D.

Yelp
The caramel latte cold... was not good. Lacked the flavor of the caramel .. a whole lot of milk was poured into the cup and not enough coffee it seems. The Mexican Cookie.. chocolate. Also not good. Had an off taste like a raisin or some added ingredient I never really taste in other Panaderia spots. The service was ok.. but there was a lot of NO answers because they don't serve or have many options on the drinks from what it may seem. Either poorly made or they need to change the drinks up and the bakery.

Flamingo R.

Yelp
Their cafe de olla is fresh and delicious. Their home style dishes were decent portions. The food was very good. The server was very attentive refilling our water and coffee. Very clean.
google avatar

Yvette P.

Yelp
The food coffee and pastries were yummy and the server was friendly and smiling the whole time

Isabella O.

Yelp
Very welcoming place!! The staff was friendly, the coffee is on the sweeter side, and the pan dulce was so fresh.
google avatar

Rosie B.

Yelp
My favorite part? The coffee! You absolutely must get the cafe de olla. It is to DRIVE for. I love in NoHo and I know there's a Burbank branch but this one is so much bigger. I always have a positive experience with the servers.
google avatar

Ronnie R.

Yelp
Food is always delicious, service is fast and come when needed, and ambiance is good.
