Café de Peney

"Located on an arm of the River Rhône, this lively and popular restaurant calls to mind a vintage picture postcard: charmingly done out, with various antique objects and a wisteria-covered terrace. Fine ingredients go into delicious dishes prepared with finesse. Specialities include, for example, pig's cheeks confit with Gamaret or the runny hot chocolate biscuit." - Michelin Inspector

Local ingredients for local food in a modern cuisine perspective. Wines are local and get so well acquainted with the dishes that it makes a perfect and mandatory pair. Unfortunately the choice of beers is bland and disappointing and international and it is unfit withe the local trend and effort. I would suggest to the chef and management to upgrade their choice of beers

A high end bistrot located outside of Geneva centre. Offers a good gastronomic experience. Prices are slightly higher than usual but is compensated by the freshness of products. We have tried the autumn ‘la chasse’ menu with pumpkin veloute and deer fillet. The desert with also based on seasonal ingredients. Overall a good experience if you are looking for a dinner getaway as a couple.

Well-known restaurant were we as group met to enjoy our annual lunch repas gourmand. The restaurant is located in the campagne with parking close by in the neighbourhood. The restaurant served for us as vegetarians, a special meal that was very nicely presented and had good tastes, but the quantity served was rather insufficient to provide for lunch. See photo with spread around vegetables and a small stuffed tomato with a vegan patty. Partly this is due to serving a vegan meal instead of a vegetarian meal that also would include eggs and milk products like cheese that would have given us more substance. Upon our request, we were offered some extra boiled vegetables and mashed potatoes. The starter salad was of a good quantity and lightly seasoned with wasabe and tasted delicious. The meal was accompanied by a nicely pairing local red wine. It was a nice place to enjoy lunch, but the vegetarian offerings need some more finetuning to deserve a better rating that is given by the meat eaters visiting this restaurant.

I'll explain why I gave 3 out of 5 stars. Let's start with the fact that the food is tasteless. There is no salt, no pepper, no seasoning of any kind. There were 6 of us at the table and everyone said the same thing. Some did not eat at all, others ate because they were still hungry. We waited a very long time for our food. A very long time. This is unacceptable in such a restaurant. The waiters are few as always, they don't have time to run all over the room, so any service is out of the question. You can't call them or they forget to bring what they asked for. And they admit it out loud. In a word, the place is not worth the money. Not the service, not the food. And as for the loudness , I'm speechless. It's quieter in any cafeteria. The waiters behind the bar were very loudly putting out the dishes. I think it was an absolute disrespect to the guests of the restaurant. But apparently they haven't even heard of hospitality here.

This is a genuinely good restaurant. The ceviche is not good however the steak tartare is amazing. The main problem I had with this place was the insects (cockroaches, Daddy long legs) were annoying. Service was good enough but not wow. I would come here again but not sit outside. I would not recommend going there if you’re insect phobic but in general this is a nice place.

A perfect brasserie in Geneva outskirts. It has it all: Cosiness, friendly and effective service, a very pleasant summer garden and of course impeccable kitchen and interesting food menu and wine list. (Fortunately focused in local wines). If you have a means of transportation this is your place!

Yelp
Amazing place! Outstanding food! I went there with my boyfriend on a Saturday night, I was glad they still had one table for us, even if we made the reservation on the same day. The space is beautiful, well decorated and they have a nice terrace for when the weather is good. The staff was incredibly efficient and nice. We took the suggestions of the day: we ordered oysters for appetizers and as a main course we asked for the hunt, since is the season. Everything was tasty and fresh. Someone came to our table to show the piece of meat that would be prepared for us and I found that gesture very thoughtful. Point! When our dishes arrived they were beautifully decorated and the meat was tender like butter. So delicious! We had cheese and the end of the meal (since this is Switzerland haha) and it was also super tasty and in a good amount. Our waiter was so nice! Keep up the good work! I just wish I could improve my french enough to actually express how much I was happy about the experience.

Yelp
Conveniently located close to the Meyrin industrial area, this gastropub-like bistro lies by the Rhone, which is an amazing sight. The service is top-quality, even for a non-Michelin star restaurant. The food, although quite pricey, is very good, and offers a large gamut of flavours. The lunch menu is a very good deal, considering its evening counterpart is almost as expensive as the restaurant's brother restaurant (Domaine de Chateauvieux).

Yelp
A café setting with a classy menu. Good wines. As commonly found in restaurants nowadays, the menu is small but generally offers a good varied selection, perhaps with the exception of the desserts (only three to choose from). Set menus are reasonable. Service is very good.
