"Artisanal seasonal cuisine that showcases small-scale producers and local artisans, featuring hearty meat dishes (pork belly, kidneys, sweetbreads), sauces with real flavour, and delicious home-made ice creams flavoured with herbs from the garden (savory, sage, rosemary). Guests are in for a real treat in this café in the Vaud! The wine list is just as tempting, and features wines produced here in Riex." - Michelin Inspector

They deserve at least one Michelin star; c'est tout! Food flavor, creativity, and presentation are all out of this world. The ambience and service were outstanding!

We had a fantastic dinner at Café de Riex last week—everything was absolutely delicious! The duck was outstanding, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We also enjoyed a great local red wine that paired beautifully with the meal. Highly recommend for a cozy and refined dining experience!

Excellent restaurant. The food was original, elaborate and very well dressed. The service was excellent and the atmosphere quite pleasant. I took the surprise menu. The portions are not very big but with 3 courses, it was enough. If you order food from the menu, this is a bit more expensive but the portions are bigger. I came back the day after and ordered from the menu. This was really, really good. I would come back in the area just for that restaurant.

We walked up to Riex through the vineyards. The restaurant outside does not look extraordinary, but enter into the fantastic dining room. Panorama view of Lac Leman. We had Surprise menu and were not disappointed. Very good presentation and service and food was fantastic.

The most impressive restaurant I’ve been to in Switzerland. The service from the experienced chef and servers will be remembered for a long time. The servers, though somewhat stern, had a sense of wit, and the chef’s dishes, crafted with utmost care, still linger on my taste buds. I visited a few months ago, and I’m very grateful to the chef who personally took my reservation when I went to book in person. And to the stylish elderly server—I hope you stay healthy for many years to come.

It was the happiest moment during my trip to Lavaux. From the appetizers to the main course and dessert, everything was perfect. The chef's charisma and the restaurant manager's kindness were impressive. I recommend making a reservation before your visit.

Lunch at Cafe de Riex among the steeply-terraced vineyards on the side of Lake Geneva, is a ritual during every trip to this region. It's always a highlight of our visit. Recently a dish of scallops with caviar and salmon roe was declared 'the best dish ever' by my husband. While I'm still thinking about those morels stuffed with wild garlic from a previous visit. Desserts are always worth the indulgence and on our last visit raisins sur lie with cream and meringue was unlike anything I've ever tasted (or seen). The wine list is great - we like to stay local with chasselas and pinot noir from the producer literally across the road! Service is quirky, informed and fun and the view on a sunny day is superb!

Yelp
Really good. Service is impeccable. Best magret de canard I've ever had. Every person (6) at my table finished their plate. Not only entrée but also main course and ALSO desert. If you are in the area and have some cash come by and eat some extremely delicious gourmet French food.

Yelp
The name is actually "Cafe de Riex," and it is the best restaurant we have ever dined at. Everything there is amazing. You seriously cannot go wrong with any dish on the menu. We never thought we would ever try froie gra, but after having their scallops and morels, we decided to give it a shot, and it was like butter! For entrees, we had two pork dishes, one with the pork cheeks, and both were divine. To top it off, the service was the best we received in Europe. The food and service were so good that we changed our plans so that we could stop in again for lunch on our last day in Switzerland.

Yelp
We stopped by the cafe after a long day of walking graving for food and some more wine. The result was highly satisfactory. The waiter was great, consulted us well and assured that we had everything we needed. The food was delicious and even the house wine, a pinot noir, was really good. All in all a fantastic experience, reasonable priced for Switzerland.
