Mouss was amazing with us! Very enthusiastic, attentive, and incredibly lively. He really made the place a party. All the staff are truly great! There was a waiter who spoke Portuguese, and that was great too. Even though we speak English and French, having someone who spoke our language was fantastic. The food is good, well-priced, and you feel like you're in the movie Amélie. We loved it so much we went back the next day (we went yesterday and today), hehe. It's definitely worth it!

Google
Stumbled upon the cafe by chance and instantly recognised it as the location of Amelie's workplace. The cafe was quite empty when we arrived so it was easy to get a table. I definitely recommend the Creme brulle although my beef bourguignonwas nice too. Loved the throwbacks in decor to the film.

Google
For any fan of any movie it is always sad to notice that the movie location is losing its atmosphere every time you come to the place. May be because the movie generation grew up and don’t believe anymore in such fairytales and young generation just don’t understands it but looks like the owner doesn’t care about the movie anymore and Amelie is slowly abandoning this place. I still love you Amelie and 4 stars to this place just because of you.

Google
How this place only has four stars I’ll never know! Amazing - we were so excited to visit after being obsessed with the film Amelie. Like some other restaurants in Paris, they could have high prices and rude staff but it was just the opposite! We were made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We sat outside to people-watch while enjoying a vegan burger and fries and glass of wine and a Croque Madame and beer - all delicious! It was our favourite meal in Paris and we would definitely visit again. The waiter that looked after is (Donnie?) was amazing! Thank you

Google
I used to love this café and went there for many years when I was in Paris. But lately, their food has become terrible. The onion soup looks nothing like a real one — just a small piece of bread with cheese floating in it. The crème brûlée isn’t even crunchy on top, only in the middle, on sides it is soft. And now they’ve started begging for tips, which is a huge turn-off.

Google
We visited Café des Deux Moulins in Montmartre — the iconic filming location of “Amélie” — and it was just like stepping into the movie. The décor and atmosphere are exactly as seen on screen, and it’s clear the café has embraced its cinematic fame. After exploring Paris on foot, we stopped inside for a break and had drinks. The beer was fine, but unfortunately, the mojito my wife ordered wasn’t good — it seemed like the bartender was inexperienced and didn’t know how to make a proper mojito. Still, it’s a unique spot for Amélie fans and a nice place to soak up the movie’s charm while resting. Worth a visit for the ambiance, but maybe stick to simpler drinks.

Google
Really friendly staff gave us a lovely warm welcome. The food was delicious and sensibly priced. The best beef bourginoin ever!!

Google
We went in because it was a location for the film Amelie. They have some paintings and things from the film in the background. The customer service wasn't good at all. In fact, the girl didn't process the payment correctly and claimed that our credit card 💳 wasn't acceptable. I'd been using it for over a few weeks without an issue, additionally she wasn't very nice. Anyway, we paid the bill with another one and that was it. We only had coffee, and it wasn't the best. The live music was one of the worst I've ever heard too, no wonder every time the song ended, the owner encouraged everyone to clap.

Yelp
3.25 stars. I wasn't looking to eat at the very real place where fictional character Amélie Poulain works in the eponymous movie; after finding our first choice closed for the lunch hour, the terrasse at Café des Deux Moulins beckoned & we heeded the call. I noticed the prices are a bit inflated due to the eatery's ties to the film as well as its bustling Montmartre locale. My Cherry Coke, which wasn't as sweet as the American version, ran 1-2 € higher than other cafes at 5,4 €. Same went for their eats; six escargots cost 10 €, duck terrine was 17 €, & my Croque Madame with side of wilted salad was 15,90 €. I enjoyed the crisp cheese that evenly coated the bread & was pleased our server understood my clumsy French request for a non-runny egg yolk. You can certainly find higher quality dishes for a smaller price tag elsewhere, but Café des Deux Moulins provided a satisfying pause in our day with a no-fuss sidewalk lunch, people watching, & attentive service.

Yelp
This place is a lot about ambiance, Amelie and being cute and famous. It is slightly on the tourist trap side, but it is still a lovely, albeit overpriced experience. The service was very kind and attentive, the restaurant is lovely and the food is overall okay. I had a capuccino coffee (about 6 euro, on the higher price for coffee) and a decent but not remarkable Croque monsieur for a similarly high price. It was absolutely worth it and I knew what I was getting into visiting the Amelie cafe, and made for a great story and lots of pictures. There are so many options in Paris and the area with much better food, so chances are that I would not go back, but I am glad I checked it out for the 'gram.

Yelp
Just don't do it, there has to be a better option. It's sad, bad service, horrible restrooms. Currently here - can't wait for the food Update after we received our food- kelp waking Everything else around must be better.

Yelp
Very cool to visit the cafe of Amelie and be transported to the set! The service was friendly and the cafe just as red as in the movie. Only wish they had some souvenirs of the movie for sale! Quaint and cozy and memorabilia around the walls!

Yelp
Super cute little eatery. They had good music and good vibes. The tapas we got were burratta, nachos, tomato & feta, and mozzarella sticks. Some dishes were part of their happy hour. Everything was delicious. I could eat like 3 servings of the feta and tomatoes with some bread. The mozzarella sticks aren't pictured because they were in the second round of orders, but they were like little balls of fried cheese that came with a sweet chili dipping sauce that was actually a little spicy but so good. The burratta was dumb good. $3 wine + $5 tapas = dank happy hour and a slightly buzzed but happy and full Bella.

Yelp
Nice to have dessert here. Quite an old bit homey establishment that offers prompt and friendly service, delicious dessert, and good music. It's good to witness and experience this place where a famous movie Amelie was shot.

Yelp
Café des Deux Moulins was made super famous by the classic Amelie movie. I've visited here in 2019 and most recently last week. My most recent visit saw an interior change where the cafe now has a kitchen. There's a door that says Cuisjne. That hallway used to take you to the where the movie souvenirs where stored and the toilets. I was happy to see that Deux Moulins was busy on my last visit and the staff and management have embraced the flocks of Amelie fans by adding the Crème Brûlée and other items on menu. The iconic behind the bar look from the movie and from 2019 is no longer but is updated. We did order the crème brûlée and it was cool to tap the spoon on the crust while in the Cafe. It was also cool to hangout with other Amelie fans who took residence near the movie props. So why the three stars? It's because there's more than can be done. I understand that Deux Moulins is a brasserie and cafe in Montmartre but it was skyrocketed to fame for being in the Amelie. It seemed evident to me in my previous visit that the staff and management didn't want to embrace or acknowledge being in the movie so fans like myself were shut out of the experience. In my most recent experience, there's a better attitude but the relocation of the movie props to its new location makes it very hard to see and take pictures. Side note: On the opposite wall there are a nice collection of Polaroid selfies with fans from around the world. I would give Deux Moulins a higher rating if they were able to balance the game and nostalgia of Amelie with a working and functional brasserie / cafe in a tourist heavy district of Paris.

Yelp

Yelp
We had a bad experience here. We walked in after a long day hoping to get dinner. Even before we sat down our server walked up to one of my friends and told her they had very little vegetarian food. That was probably because we're all ethnically Indian and he made the assumption we'd eat vegetarian food. Racial assumptions aside it was weird that it was the first thing he thought to say to us. No greeting or anything. One of my friends who went to use the restroom also pointed out that the place was filthy and had no soap to wash hands with! Anyway we decided what to order and started to tell our server the order when he showed up again. He seemed impatient, then said something to us walked away in the middle of taking the order. We waited another 10 minutes for him to come back while he chatted with other guests and generally worked around the restaurant. When he didn't come back we decided to leave thinking the restaurant was busy and we weren't getting enough attention. Our server came up to my friend at the door and told her that the partial order was in the kitchen and showed her the ticket. He seemed agitated so I decided to step in either sit down or offer to pay and leave. He seemed to get agitated (I honestly don't know why) and started to point fingers. At this point another person who seemed like a manager stepped in and my wife said that perhaps we could get another server. Weirdly, both the manager and the server seemed hell bent on escalating the situation. We had kids with us so I asked everyone to step out and again offered to pay and leave. This just seemed to set them off more and things descended to name calling. The server told me to "go to McDonald's" and "go back where you came from". Clearly this person understood enough English to drop slurs at me so it wasn't entirely a language issue as I'd been thinking so far. If you're a person of color or someone who values their dignity I'd strongly recommend staying away from this place. Our experience was almost enough to put us off Paris and it's wonderful denizens entirely. We were saved by Le Chat Noir down the street where the service, food, and sanitation standards were excellent.

Yelp
We stopped in here before going to the Moulin Rouge. It was a decent meal...French onion soup and we split a ceasar salad. My son had the croque Monsieur which he really liked. We opted for the crème brûlée for dessert. We had watched them prepare others and it did not disappoint. The service was good and the music was fun.

Yelp
Unfriendly vibe? Walked in and the bar tender seemed, umm "unamused"? Was excited to visit because of Amélie (movie) and the space was super cool as I imagined. However there weren't any English menus or English translations online. Not that this would automatically make us leave but it just didn't feel, welcoming or comfortable I guess. The waitress was nice. Got a few drinks only and left. Seems like a locals only (in an unfriendly way).

Yelp
I had no idea until I was in the restaurant for awhile that this was the place where Audrey Tautou was a waitress in the movie Amélie. I had stopped at a restaurant down the hill a bit and although empty, I was told all of their tables were reserved. I looked up the street, saw the Café des Deux Moulins, walked up, looked at their menu, and decided to have dinner here before my Moulin Rouge show. I opted to sit inside because the evening air was getting cold and the sun would have been directly in my eyes. I was seated near the entrance and I had a grand table for watching the locals have their happy hour drinks and maybe discussion politics or work or whatever. I chose the French onion soup and a veal dish. The onion soup was very good and it was not overwhelmed with cheese. Rather, there was a small amount of cheese on each of the pieces of baguette. It was good not to fight stringy cheese although that's something that we all have done. The veal was in a good white sauce but there was little taste of lemongrass to the dish perhaps by design. I've had fried polenta before and this was much like I'd already had. When it came to dessert, my server suggested the crème brûlée. Since i've had that so many times before, I opted for something totally different--what their menu called French Charlottel inverted. Rather than having cake line the pan and filling the inside with custard, this was a custard with kiwi and lemon on the bottom of the crock with two small ladyfingers pushed into the custard and topped with raspberry syrup. It was quite good and went well with the cappuccino I had with it. Service was very good. Either my French is that bad or people in Paris want to use their English, but as soon as I started in French, I would be stopped and told, "I speak English." In any case, this was a good meal and a total blind find as far as the film Amélie is concerned.

Yelp
Nothing really fancy but they filmed Amelie in this restaurant. The food is okay but the vibe is what makes this place. Live music and super friendly staff. We were the only Americans in the place and everyone was a local Parisian but they didn't treat us like foreigners. Highly recommend getting a drink at this place if you are in the 16th!
google avatar

Yelp
This is The Amélie bar! This was my first time dining here, and it was an amazing treat! We enjoyed the crème brûlée-it was divine! The server was very friendly, and accommodating though I'm sure she gets sick of Amelie fans! There are pictures of Amelie in the café and there is a sort of "shrine" in the restroom! It was definitely fun to sit in the café where we all fell in love with Amélie!

Yelp
When in Paris I go to Deux Moulins every morning for my cafe. It's a block from where I stay and their coffee drinks are better that elsewhere in the Hood. It's typical Parisian working class and a bit gritty but I like the guys working there and it's my go to. Sometimes I go for happy hour in the afternoon. It's a great place.

Yelp
We spent most of our Paris visit getting familiar with Montmartre, and Cafe des Deux Moulins was the first place we happened upon for dinner the night we arrived. It was perfect for us. Bustling but not too crowded, we were seated right away in the front window at a tiny table for 2. Everything felt soft and warm under the glow of the lights. It was all very cozy. I had the "Two Mills" board for 15€, and it was well worth it. So much cheese and meat! They do not underserve you in portion or quality, and I was so happy. Definitely enough food to serve as my meal -- plenty of soft Saint-Nectaire cheese, Auvergne blue cheese, dry sausage, prosciutto, and terrine of Auvergne. All on a bed of lettuce with dressing. So so good!! Jon ordered the Grilled Rib Steak with Auvergne blue cheese sauce and house fries for 17€. It was a great piece of meat for the price, plenty of fat and flavor, and cooked nicely. Our waitress was sweet and wrapped up all my leftover cheese in foil to take home (I ate the rest later that night). While the menu here isn't anything that stands out amongst the many many bistros peppered throughout Paris, Deux Moulins gave us a really wonderful welcome to Montmartre. Plus their wine was delicious and they make a super strong mojito!
google avatar

Emily J.

Yelp
This is a nice cafe to spend some time after exploring Montmartre. Admittedly, it was their Amelie claim to fame that drew us in. It drew a lot of other people in too, as evidenced by the occasional visitor just there for a photo, and the many, many requests for creme brûlée. I liked the memorabilia collection by the bathroom. We started with a round of cocktails -- something with vodka, cucumber, and mint. Light and refreshing. To eat, we shared a cheese plate and a creme brûlée. (Obviously.) The cheese plate came with three types of cheese and was accompanied by some greens and nuts. All delicious. I enjoyed eating the creme brûlée, creamy with a hint of cardamom, almost as much as cracking the top with a teaspoon. I asked our server how creme brûlées they serve in a day and he laughed and said that on a "good" day, they serve 350. No WiFi.
google avatar

Jacelyn C.

Yelp
Had late lunch here after arriving in Paris. My friend, who loves the movie Amelie, enjoyed this place since a good part of the film was shot here. Food was okay, portions were decent but the prices were a little pricey for Montmartre.
google avatar

Mckenna D.

Yelp
Adorable cafe with so much potential but so little effort put towards it. As a fan of the Amelie and staying in Montmartre, it was simply serendipitous that I go to the bar where they filmed the movie. Upon entering I noticed a few aspects of the location that differed from the film, NBD, it was still reminiscent enough to please my touristy heart. The actual food was meh, the service eh, and overall the experience left me like ah, that's why the rating is so low. They should have left the original layout of the restaurant and committed to having it be a landmark to the movie. Instead it's kinda halfhearted between ignoring the movie and honoring it. I split the cheese plate with Ryan C and we both ordered a glass of red wine. Our waiter was 100% disinterested in us due in part to the fact that we are American and fans of the movie. I get hating non-French speaking Americans (how frustrating, amirite?) but why work at a place that is going to attract fans if you hate the fans? I could feel our waiter eyeroll at us. The cheese plate was laden with bleu cheese, a sharper cheddar style, and a buttery soft cheese. The salad with it was mostly just lettuce, not dressed. It was ok at best. Not worth the price. IDK if you're a fan of the movie but if you are, you may be better off just ordering something else + a drink, taking a quick inconspicuous selfie, then beating it outta here before your waiter judges you. Ryan went to the restroom and reported it absolutely reeking of urine, but they had a cute display of Amelie things.

Yelp
Tucked away on the side of Moulin Rouge, this place is a great hangout spot for some coffee, food, or even hot chocolate. It's small but cozy! The staff was not as catering to our needs as we expected but I was not disappointed. The hot chocolate was a little on the colder side than hot but it was good. Unfortunately, we didn't eat here so can't recommend any food options.
google avatar

Melyne G.

Yelp
Amazing! A friend and I happened upon this place on the day we landed and I returned a lot to people-watch. The only thing I had (many times over) was the kir royale, but I'm sure it's all excellent. Everyone was gracious and sitting outside can be quite social. I miss it! Ps the sink has a peddle. I didn't figure this out for a while and whirled around with soapy hands wondering what to do what to do Pps Colm alone is worth a visit. He's completely lovely and I came back mainly hoping he'd be there
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
This was hands down the best meal of my European trip place was lively maybe a little loud for some but I liked it. Service was ok the servers act like the patrons so don't expect to much attention and when you are done you will have to hunt them down for the check. If in Paris give them a try after a day of touring the city it's a good place to wind down.
google avatar

Tianhang D.

Yelp
Needless to say I came here for Amelie, like a million other customers. The place wasn't big and particularly busy, but they seemed short handed. It took a long time to get a food and the check. The menu had a lot of Amelie items that were a bit overpriced. It's good to just order a coffee or Amelie brûlée so you can sit down and take some photos.
google avatar

Brian K.

Yelp
came here to see the place amelie worked. had the simple breakfast: croissant, coffee, and juice. very good, easy. waitress was friendly.
google avatar

Marcie K.

Yelp
Mon Dieu. This was unpleasant in almost every way. Our waiter was rude, looked filthy, and smelled like he hadn't showered for days. I am not one to fret over normal body odor, but this was off-putting. Of course everyone is here to eat at Amelie's place, but the food is mediocre at best, so don't go hungry. The bathrooms are pretty dirty.
google avatar

Veronica H.

Yelp
I heard mediocre reviews about this place before going, but wanted to come because of Amelie. I decided we would only have a drink here... We sat at the bar and had a couple glasses of wine. Seemed like a locals spot actually. The bartender wasn't overly attentive, but then he totally surprised us with some free French fries! That gave it an extra star right there. It was weird though...he just put it on the table and started talking to some other guy... no interaction with us really. As other reviewers said, they could make a killing with a bit more effort for tourists... The bathroom altar to Amelie is cute, but it seems like there is some work to be done. I'm surprised they haven't made more of an effort considering the movie was so huge.
google avatar

Yen V.

Yelp
Straightforward, festive, good food. We had excellent service, a smiling server who joked around but still kept himself busy. The salmon burger was crisp, wholesome, accompanied with very good fries. I had a salmon & shrimp salad, and while there could have been more salmon, it was still a heaping pile of greens, and shaved turnips. It was beautiful to look at & eat! The cardamom crème brûlée is also a treat, and their hot chocolate, though a bit pricey, is just perfectly sweet.
google avatar

Anna C.

Yelp
When in Paris, Café des Deux Moulins is a must see if you're in Montmartre. Especially if you're a fan of the movie, Amelie. It is packed with artsy locals and tourists. The bathroom in which the famous sex scenes are still there with a picture of Amelie in the back.
google avatar

Christina C.

Yelp
While I was in Paris, I had this obsession with the Movie "Amelie". The boyfriend found out that this was where the bar scenes were filmed. Although, it looks completely different, so I am not sure if this is completely accurate. Anyhow, we stopped in for a quick drink. The neighborhood is the most charming and quaint neighborhood. Lined with windmills and beautiful trees and greenery. From what I recall, they mostly had German beer on tap. No complaints here. Great neighborhood to explore, and great place to stop in and grab a drink.
google avatar

Kat L.

Yelp
Its so cute, and its changed a lot since the movie was shot here. I assume to accommodate all the tourists who want to see it IRL. If you come by during the week, or early in the day, its easy to get a spot. Tons of seating outside, and very noisy chatty during the late afternoon before dinner. Its a skip off the path in pigalle, but close enough to make a quick stop before your next touristy move of photos of moulin rouge lol
google avatar

Andy S.

Yelp
The two main reasons to go to this place are the location and because of the movie Amelie. Located in Montmartre right up the street from the Moulin Rouge. It was the set for the cafe in the French film Amelie. That is reason enough to visit. I hate to admit that I ordered a hamburger and fries here. There wasn't much else on the menu that tempted me. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the meal. This turned the average rating into four stars. Tip: Watch Amelie. Great French film.
google avatar

Ashley O.

Yelp
I had to come here while visiting Paris because AMELIE! Just being in this cafe was so exciting for a tourist fan gal like me! The food was just okay, but the creme brûlée was pretty amazing. I had to do the Amelie creme brûlée scene of course! I was lucky enough to sit by the Amelie sign but note to self, everyone will be taking pictures of you while you eat because everyone wants to take a picture of the sign. It was worth it though! The cafe does look much different from the movie but still it's recognizable and has Amelie memorabilia!

Yelp
(Note: this review is about the food, not about the drinks and coffees, and it is based on a dining experience in January 2010) To be honest, this was the worst food I had during my 2 weeks in France. I had the sense that most tourists went there (I was certainly one of them, too) were fans of the Amelie movie, not of the food at Deux Moulins. Amelie was also one of my favorites, but even such favor couldn't buy me off for a positive review of the food at this Cafe. I was so disappointed that the orange duck dish I ordered was cooked like wood, the salmon my friend ordered was also very dry. Beef bourguignon with pasta was the best among the three, but the pasta was dry and tasteless. The place was packed with people, but only 2 or 3 waiters were serving. Everyone looked so panic... There are too many good eateries in Paris. I think Café les Deux Moulins is worth a visit for fans of Amelie. A cup of coffee buys you enough time to relive the movie, but don't waste time eating there, since it may ruin your memories of the movie.
google avatar

Yoori S.

Yelp
Definitely a novelty because it is the film locale for Amelie movie, but take your photo and have your meal elsewhere. Service is slow and food is mediocre. We got our water that I requested when I was seated after I was finished with my meal. And as side note, the bathroom didn't have a seat. I didn't bother taking a photo of the food or the place because I just didn't feel the need to memorialize the experience. Additionally, because we looked like tourists, the waiter made it a point to tell us that tip was not included when my friend, who is a local, ensured me that tipping is optional for great service. I still left a tip.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
If you're a fan of the movie Amelie, then you'll definitely want to check out this famous filming location. If you're not, then you'll probably be just as thrilled somewhere else that isn't necessarily a tourist trap for people wanting to gawk and take a bunch of photos. There's ample seating inside and we had no trouble securing a table around 5PM midweek. There was a good hustle and bustle, but it seemed more people wanted their photos outside from the curb rather than inside where the actual magic happened. The cafe has a bunch of movie memorabilia hung on the walls and there is a small shrine located near the restrooms. Just note, the area is cramped and it smells like urine. Not a faint smell, but a pungent cover your nose type of smell. But if you can get past that, then you'll be golden (no pun intended.) Service was cold and the food was okay. We had some wine and a charcuterie board that helped hold us over until dinner, but decided we were okay with a short visit and chose to get our main meal somewhere else. This probably wouldn't be my first choice in spots when there are so many great places in Paris, however, I wouldn't write it off if someone I knew really wanted to go because they too were smitten with the movie.

Yelp
This is one of the locations for the film Amelie. This movie has a cult following, so if this place is packed, just take a picture and move on. There are other places in the area to eat and have coffee.

I know that this is where they filmed Amelie but I don't want to base my review on my expectations from that movie. Instead, I will judge them based solely on their food, drink, and facilities. So there's really nowhere you can go wrong with ordering a coke. I also ordered their fries and you really can't go wrong with that either. Where their rating goes down is with their restrooms. How come they don't have toilet seats? And why is the floor so wet all the time? Whatever it is, they should seriously fix that because I doubt anyone likes sitting on a cold, wet toilet bowl. Anyway, if you're coming here for a meal and a drink, then you're fine. If you need to use their restrooms...go somewhere else.

Yelp
Movie buffs alike journey to Montmartre to come to this very restaurant where the film Amelie was filmed. Being a fan of the film myself, we could not help ourselves but come here too. This French cafe is a great place to come for a quick drink or bite. The food here is not extraordinary by any means. It mostly makes it mark for being a tourist attraction. The service on the other hand was very attentive. Our waiter was quirky and highly hilrous at times. If you are a fan of the film, I highly recommend making the journey just for a sneak inside.

Yelp
Hunting down le Cafe des Deux Moulins was more of a personal pilgrimage than any regular eating feat. I am admittedly a fan of the movie, Amelie. And for any other fan, I would recommend going. For anyone that is not, I'd probably pass based on the average food and slightly above average prices. Overall, I enjoyed my meal but readily admit that it is pretty biased. Would I go again? Sure why not. It's cleverly decorated but not too audacious. I ordered from the menu du jour - mushroom soup + steak/bavette. I wasn't terribly impressed with either. But I did enjoy my creme brulee and coffee at the end. It's just a fun little side trip while wandering around Montmartre. Also, the cafe is located very close to a metro #2 line (Blanche).

Yelp
Amelie's cafe!! It's an amazing place for incredible food or just to relax with a giant glass of wine. Lots of memorabilia from the film (make sure you go to the toilet, that's where it's at. The duck is incredible and make sure you have your Amelie moment by cracking the top of a créme brulée. Been here 3 times and would gladly return.

Yelp
The Cafe Les Deux Moulins is a café in the Montmartre area of Paris. It takes its name from the two nearby historical windmills Moulin Rouge and Moulin De La Galette. The interior consists of a small bar and a seated cafe area. The cafe has gained considerable fame since its appearance in the 2001 film, Amelie, in which it is the workplace of the title character played by Audrey Tatou. It has since become a popular tourist destination, though we were the only tourists there on my visit. I decided to go there for a late breakfast and opted for the title ' Amelie Breakfast' which consisted of coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, croissant and tartine (a French baguette with jam and butter). I am huge fan of the film and found myself lost in the romantic air of the Cafe Les Deux Moulins and enjoyed my first true Parisian breakfast amongst the locals who surrounded me. Firstly if you haven't seen Amelie please take an evening to watch it and you won't regret it and then when you next find yourself in Paris, make sure you stop by the Cafe Les Deux Moulins for a scrummy French Breakfast.

Yelp
The customer service is not very good. I asked to have some water but came so late, almost we were done, and the coffee was tasted so so. We didn't get the coffee we wanted and coffee was with very small amount. I don't think we will be back.

Yelp
Rude rude rude. I ordered an ice chocolate, the waiter brought me a hot one, I told him it's the wrong one and he yelled at me. I told him to take out the menu because I pointed at the ice one when I ordered. He finally realized he was wrong. I ordered a water, he gave me one with a bug in it, throwing the cup on the table. Never again.

Yelp
from our trip in 2007... we had our first Parisian drink here. we were staying across the street and found this little bar in the Montmarte district. nice little joint, lots of locals in there having cafes and wine. standing at the bar was the in thing. we got our wines and sat outside to admire our first day in town. excellent for people watching since it was across from a florist and the market. cute and quaint. we highly recommend.

Yelp
As a girl who absolutely adores the movie Amelie, I had to visit the cafe as my first stop on my last day in Paris! It looks quite different from the movie set, but it was fun to see and the nutella crepe & cafe au lait I ordered were both delicious! Hope to return again soon!

Yelp
Les 2 Moulins was a bar-brewery which was more in the area at the bottom of the Rue Lepic. A loyal customer base attested to the social role of the place. The patrons were the bosses, after all, causing more than some-but attention, as it is in Marseilles, eh! And then the cinema and theatre director Jean-Pierre Jeunet made our coffee-tobacco, instead of the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain (2001) to phenomenal success. Audrey Tautou became the seveuse worship. But time has passed and le 2 Moulins has maintained its rank and not lose your head. Proof: coffee is 2 EUR! It is still a note! the place has remained with his charm before, including its brass and his look of Parisian cafe.

Yelp
On your to do list for a trip to Paris there is of course the visit of the famous coffeehouse from the movie Amelie of Montmartre. But you have to know that it was in that movie as many changes have been made to it for the making of the film. Nevertheless the coffeehouse is nicely located and serves the typical Parisian dishes which are great not too expensive. Definitely not a tourist trap.

Yelp
Foodwise not so dazzling. We shared some escargot and some beer, neither of which were too generous in portion or flavor, but it was my first time trying escargot so I couldn't tell anyway. You'll be surrounded by other diners who are obviously traveling or here to take selfies. It was disappointing to me because I usually find it quite enriching to overhear little snippets of real Parisians talking over their plates, but that's not a thing that happens here. Also maybe I'm just projecting myself, but I believe fans of the movie will find it quite hard to unsee the fact that you're in the set of Amélie, and will be constantly comparing your memories of the movies with what you're seeing in real life. However ! Coming to see the set of Amélie directly after visiting Sacre-Coeur (another great landmark in the movie!) not too far away was nostalgic and happy for me, and those who harbor childish fandom for the movie should at least stroll by. tldr food is acceptable but watch Amélie before coming !
