5 Questions With Hilton Singapore’s Executive Pastry Chef Cindy Khoo On French Pastries

"Another favourite Tokyo hang-out is Café Dior by Pierre Hermé. Besides its famous macarons, I enjoyed the panna cotta with mixed berries and crispy croissant sticks that are the perfect balance of crispy and buttery." - Kenneth Goh

Cafe Dior, located in the fashionable district of Ginza, Tokyo, offers a sophisticated and elegant setting for afternoon tea, making it a prime destination for those looking to indulge in a luxurious dining experience. My visit to this chic cafe was marked by an exceptional afternoon tea service that included finely brewed coffee, rich hot chocolate, and an assortment of beautifully presented cakes and snacks. The ambiance of Cafe Dior reflects its stylish surroundings, with decor that embodies contemporary luxury. The seating is comfortable and the atmosphere is ideal for a leisurely afternoon. Each item served was a testament to the cafe's commitment to quality and aesthetics, with flavors that were as delightful as the presentation was appealing. The coffee was aromatic and robust, the hot chocolate decadently smooth, and the cakes and snacks were both delicious and visually enticing. The service was attentive and unobtrusive, enhancing the overall experience. Cafe Dior in Ginza is an excellent choice for anyone seeking a refined afternoon tea experience in Tokyo. It combines the allure of high fashion with the pleasures of gourmet treats, making every visit memorable. Whether for a special occasion or a casual treat, Cafe Dior promises a blend of luxury, comfort, and exquisite taste that is sure to impress.

Best described as a "lovely" experience. I actually preferred the LV Cafe experience better. Very limited menu that is all sweet...nothing savory. That being said all the sweets are fantastic. I ordered champagne, 3 times, but never received it. Could not eat all the macarons but was not allowed to take them with me. Both of those things were odd but maybe lost in translation. This was one of those "once and done" things. Glad I did it.

Visited the cafe and the store all at one go at Ginza. Spacious and bright with all the products at one glance. Cafe is at level 4 with the Maison section at the same level. Bought back a box of 12 macarons with 6 different flavours. It was good and even my mum and aunt loved it. Sweet for sure. The staff there were all so nice and polite. Wish I have time to get a drink there to chill. Probably next time when I come to Tokyo again.

Actual environment is not 'that' inviting or pleasant as you see in pictures. Nearly empty in noon time the day I went. Chocolate pistachio is fine but latte art is just average. Not recommended at all.

Luxury cafe for DIOR's fans. The bakery and tea is great. Not only good-looking but also taste good as well. Reservation required. You need to book a seat in advance. If you're a foreigner, you have to ask your hotel for helping you book this place. Japanese talking staff will help you a lot in this kind of situation.

The place was empty when we went. The airconditioning wasn’t that good (it was hot). One couple arrived, sat down, looked at the menu, and then left. They don’t have a high chair for babies. Also, as for the menu, they didn’t have anything savory. Everything was sweet. We booked the afternoon tea online for 11,000Yen per person, and I expected the food to be a mix of sweet and savory. If you dine there (without booking your food online), expect to pay double. 22,000Yen is the price when we got there (versus 11,000Yen online). The food was average. It was disappointing for me overall. TIP: you’re better off going to the LV CAFE in Ginza (which serves better food, larger servings, and savory options - even cheaper!). Plus the dessert is way better there.

Stepped in for the experience. It is quite pricey to have 4pcs of Macaroons at ¥4800. Yet the thought of drinking LATTE with CD logo it the foam... satisfying!
