Visiting Café du Monde was definitely an experience. The beignet was warm and tasty, and the lively atmosphere, complete with a sidewalk performer singing entertaining cover songs, added a nice touch. However, the service felt very rushed—more of a “get in, get out” vibe. There was no greeting, and the person taking orders seemed less than thrilled to be there, even though the day had just begun.
For a first-timer, it felt more like being herded through feeding time than enjoying a classic New Orleans tradition. Next time, I’d probably try Café Beignet on Royal or Bourbon Street for a more welcoming experience.
