Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts Plots New Restaurant at Old Barreca’s Spot | Eater New Orleans

"Eater first reported in March 2017 that Creole Cuisine may have a restaurant in the works at 301 Chartres, a building that was once the home of the Ursuline nuns." - Stephanie Carter

Incredible brunch find steps away from the chaos. The hostess was extremely friendly & we loved her Xmas braids. Our server Equinox was very attentive & had a great energy that made our morning. Sit on the veranda upstairs if you can. Must eats were the crawfish toast, fried green tomatoes, seafood Benedict & crabs omelette smothered in creamed spinach.

Kennedy was our server and she was cheerful, friendly and so delightful. The portions are huge! We enjoyed our breakfast. The view from the café was delightful watching the street traffic and all of the passersby. Food was excellent. You must try this when you’re in this area.

DE-LICIOUS! We went here in the morning to grab some breakfast, and it did not disappoint. We had to wait for 5-10 minutes to enter, but once entered, we had great service and a wide variety of items to choose from. We ordered the Eggs Benedict (Chef's Choice - Salmon), as well as Crawfish Omelette and Praline Pancakes, all at a reasonable price. They were all amazing, and I would highly recommend coming to this place.

A big draw of this restaurant was the ability to have brunch on the balcony. They didn’t disappoint. Service and the food were great. Every dish was well done and our server was very pleasant. You cannot go wrong with any dish. We got the oyster po boy, Benedict, and shrimp and grits. All were excellent and I would highly recommend each of them. Do not miss out on the biscuit as it was my favorite so far in the city. Best option for a balcony brunch spot in NOLA

Arrived early (8:30ish) on a Sat morning and was thankful to be allowed seating on the balcony. Friendly service, some food items were not as warm as they should have been, but tasted good. Came back the next morn' and dined inside, GREAT service and DELICIOUS cheese grits! All food was perfectly hot this visit. We will return on future trips into town!

*10 October 2025* Visiting from Atlanta. Me and my friend dined just in time because the line was out the door once we finished our meal. My food was good, but I'm not a big fan of boudin sausage -- that's just me and my taste buds that don't agree with the flavor. My scrambled eggs, grits, biscuit, and OJ were good, though. Whenever I'm back in NOLA, I'll definitely try this place again, but will get something different instead.

Definitely sit on the balcony if weather permits. Varied menu; however, zero flexibility in making changes -wait staff petitioned but kitchen is adamant. We ended up ordering the gumbo - which was average and served lukewarm and the Banana Pecan hotcakes with candied bacons and a shot of Bourbon and melted butter. Again served lukewarm, butter was cold, maple syrup cold. Hotcakes lacked salt or sugar - I mixed the bourbon with maple syrup and poured on top which helped a little. The candied bacon was delicious. Overall underwhelming.

Amazing food and Amazing service! Our server Q was nice, funny, informative, really made the whole experience. I got the Bloody Mary and crawfish omelet. Can’t wait to come back and try more. Also the coffee was perfect please try the caramel iced latte!
