On the Grid : Café Frank

"Cafe Frank is always buzzing with the breakfast and lunch crowds seeking good food to fuel them for the day ahead. Always busy means their food must be good - and it is! They’ve kept their menu small so that they can focus on delivering quality food every time. They offer a great variety of fresh salads, gourmet pies and seriously good roast chicken." - Tenacity Works

Quaint cafe serving meals including breakfast in an open vintage styled non air conditioned atmosphere. Close to my hotel, I popped in seeking a vegetarian breakfast. They have a variety of options for meat lovers but also offer muesli, granola, and fruits too. I chose the cranberry granola with yoghurt and honey. Nice filling portion with silky smooth yoghurt. The main focus, as always, was the coffee. Ordered a cafe latte, and it tasted quite good in an impressively large cup. Cost me ZAR 113 for both and a filling start to my day.

Great place for an early breakfast or coffee in the Cape Town city bowl.

I came here two times in one week - One time for a takeaway breakfast and one time for a sit down. Very positive about both experiences! The service is friendly and food and drinks come out quick with good quality.

Very nice coffee. I think sandwich was a bit too pricy, and not special. I should have gotten lunch meal. A main and one side. That looked very tasty.

Great value for money for breakfast and lunch. Nice range of things on the menu and lovely outside seating area. I visited several times during my stay in CT and the service was consistently friendly and timely.

What used to be my go-to cafe delivered a significantly disappointing experience - not possible to go back. Simple order included foods with allergens which were clearly explained - twice on the same order. Paid, with a tip and moved on - not a postive reflection of Cape Town service, from a much loved restaurant.

Cafe Frank is the absolute heart of the upper part of the Bree Street neighbourhood, with fresh, delicious, healthy meals, and a friendly team. It's a great place to grab a quick working lunch, have a meeting, or just grab a coffee and relax. Highly recommend!
