The Best Mexican Restaurants in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"This Beaubien café on the southern edge of Little Italy proffers hearty Mexican breakfasts, with a team of home cooks churning out Aztec soup, chilaquiles, and enchiladas from the tiny kitchen. Saturdays are coffee roasting days from the Guatemalan co-ops the owners are connected with; there’s an evocative soundtrack and Wi-Fi for longer daytime visits." - Ivy Lerner-Frank

Awesome spot for breakfast! Highly recommend the chilaquiles, I tried them twice and would say they’re on par with what I’ve had in Mexico. Also the horchata and fruit juices (tried the cantaloupe and pineapple) were super tasty and prepared from scratch. Look forward to returning next time I’m in the city, keep up the amazing work!

Very nice service and atmosphere, and food amd coffee are also great and very reasonably priced.

So this was a happy accident, the spot we originally wanted to dine in had a long wait so we decided to try this place out. Very friendly people, quiet little corner spot. The food was very good. Nothing too sweet nor salty. Just right. We did take some bread/pastries to go and the carrot cake was just amazing! We did have a ham and cheese item that wasn’t good. Other than that, lovely place. Would come back again to dine out with true initial intent.

Great food at reasonable prices. Highly recommend the chorizo con huevo breakfast dish, it’s delicious and super filling

The coffee selection is good, more on the datk roast side. The service was meh, the staff took forever to even greet me and there wasn't even a line or anything.

Some delicious Mexican pastries and savory dishes can be found here, especially the Café de Olla served in a clay pot, notably rich with spices and sweetness. Unfortunately, it didn't meet my afternoon caffeine need.

We stopped for a snack, ended up getting lunch instead. Delicious. Some of the best Mexican food I have had in Montreal. If you are in the area it is definitely worth stopping.
