FOOD
- yo soy fuerte [gratitude crunchwrap] (9/10): mushroom carnitas, guacamole, cashew cheese, lettuce, tostada, and pico de gallo wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla with choice of side. If you are looking for a heartier option, definitely choose this. It is filling but does not leave you feeling heavy. I liked the texture differences between the crispy tostada and creamy guacamole and the meaty mushrooms. Since it is cut into two pieces, it is a great dish to share between 2 or 4 people. One of the best things we ordered.
- i am blessed [butternut bolognese pasta] (7/10): spicy tomato sauce with roasted broccoli and squash cubes and garlic Parmesan breadcrumbs. I liked the flavor of the sauce as it had the creaminess of a vodka sauce with a slight hint of chili. The squash and broccoli were great textural additions to break up the soft pasta. If this was the only thing we ordered i would have rated it higher but when compared to the other dishes it was not as unique. I also am not sure if we got any tempeh in our dish.
- i am hearty [housemade tofu scramble] (6/10): tofu mushroom scramble with sides of roasted potatoes, crunchy sourdough toast, and roasted strawberries. This is the classic breakfast spread and is another great dish to share for brunch. The tofu scramble has an unexpected tang from lemon and the roasted tomatoes. Similar to the pasta, it was not as unique as something similar can be ordered in many other restaurants.
- i am well [adaptogenic plant protein bowl] (9/10): coconut basmati rice topped with roasted lions mane mushroom, broccolini, asparagus, edamame, tomatoes, toasted hempseeds, avocado, and served with the green goddess dressing on the side. This was part of the special Gut Feelings collaboration with Dr Will Cole. I would rank this as my favorite dish and hope that they keep it on the menu permanently. The combination of the sweet tomatoes with the umami mushroom and the creamy avocado are perfectly balanced by the fresh and slightly spicy dressing. It makes a great dish to share or enjoy alone for lunch or dinner.
- i am stellar [blue spirulina smoothie] (7/10): coconut, almond butter, dates, vanilla, goji, ashwaganda, cordyceps, reishi, and cinnamon. The most prominent flavors are the coconut and almond butter making it a rich yet refreshing treat for a warmer day.
WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! It is a great brunch spot especially when sharing with a smaller group of people
