20 Vegan Burgers To Try in San Diego - Eater San Diego

"Cafe Gratitude’s “Magical” burger is right at home on a menu that crosses health (fresh-pressed juices) with comfort (deep-fried coconut calamari). The patty comes loaded with a little bit of everything: beets, mushrooms, oats, quinoa, brown rice, black beans and so on. Spread with cashew-macadamia cheddar, shredded lettuce, and heirloom tomatoes, the burger is served with fries and a pulpy, house-made chipotle ketchup." - Kelly Bone

Where to Eat Gluten-Free in San Diego - Eater San Diego

"Little Italy’s mantra-filled Cafe Gratitude’s claim to fame is that they’re completely vegan, but the restaurant also has many items that are suitably gluten-free, too, including gluten-free bread. So much so, menu items are marked as having gluten, rather than the other way around. Cafe Gratitude also has a ‘Book of Knowledge’ for people with food allergies or diet sensitivities. The book details what each menu item contains and what substitutions can be made to avoid gluten, specific nuts and other allergens." - Jackie Bryant

This cafe is an amazing stop for some delicious vegan food. First, The design of the interior and exterior is definitely one of a kind! I loved the vibe of the whole cafe. The menu itself was pretty diverse itself which i appreciated because it can fit lots of peoples taste. Our server was helpful and offered a drink right away and answered our questions as well. We ordered the black bean burger, crunch wrap and margarita pizza. The burger tasted a little too much like beets for me but wasn’t bad, and i really liked the crunch wrap! The pizza was also delicious. Each dish was a little pricy though but I still liked it overall:)

Overall its good food. Don’t recommend the hummus plate though, the bread is way too oily and the hummus itself has too much tahini. Mushroom burger is nice and the fries are good, coconut calamari are great, don’t recommend the sauce that comes with it though, plain ketchup is better. Really good Key lime pie, it’s plain perfect.

I would move to San Diego for this restaurant. Seriously can not say enough good things about this place. From the look, to service, definitely the food, everything was amazing. We got three plates, two drinks, and a cinnamon roll and every bite was spectacular. In addition to being vegan I am also gluten free and there were so many options. I was so surprised about the cinnamon roll… I can never find them, but these were amazing!!

I don’t eat strictly vegan, but my fiancée does. Therefore, when she’s around, we eat at a lot of vegan spots. Cafe Gratitude is my new favorite vegan brunch spot, for sure! Good coffee, nice atmosphere, seated right away on a Sunday morning. I got the tofu scramble and she got the Crunchwrap (best item for sure). We split a cinnamon roll that was also excellent. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area and interested in some tasty vegan options (even if you aren’t vegan yourself)

I hardly know where to start. The food here is fabulous! I wanted to try just about everything on the menu! 100% plant-based ingredients and the majority of the menu is gluten-free. Heaven! And they definitely delivered on taste, quality and value. I was really glad that the desserts were a little pricey or I might have been tempted to order a second...not because I was hungry...just because it was delicious. 😋 I ordered the Elated Enchiladas, the Hibiscus Booch and topped it all off with the Opulant warm (GF) chocolate chip cookie topped with chocolate hazelnut oatmilk ice cream. I wanted to try the Buffalo cauliflower but I couldn't have eaten another bite. Service: Very good Vibe: Very good Food: Excellent Value: Excellent This is my go-to place now in San Diego.

We tried black bean burger, eggplant parmesan foccacia and pesto pasta salad. I think the food is great. Amazing Vegan menu, not all food items taste meat-y which is great. From the price point- i think its little expensive and that is only con for this place. Staff is really friendly, we were helped by Eric and he was great and helpful 😊👏🏻

I really enjoy this place. It’s the first time I was at the one in San Diego. I have only been to the one in LA. Service was great. They started to use the Toast App which I personally enjoyed. Pay for stuff beforehand & as soon as it is paid for, it gets sent to the kitchen to be prepared. Whenever you’re finished, just get right up & leave. All the dishes were spectacular & our service did not hinder lack with the Toast App. I’ll be back soon.

First time visiting. Clean, honest and all vegan food items. I had the chocolate cookie, bean burger with fries and passion fruit kombucha. All very delicious & hearty. At first I ordered the flax seed pancakes and hot cocoa but didn’t suit my tastebuds so I spoke the manager who kindly took another order for me. I will definitely return for another bean burger. Be prepared to drive further away from the location if you want free parking. Otherwise you have to pay for parking.
