Quaint, eclectic, easy going, new age Bywater eatery. The food is fantastic. Simple, yet pallet pleasing dishes that look like works of art. Will definitely be coming back!

Cafe Henri is really fantastic. The food and drinks are both great. The cocktail menu in particular is very interesting, although I will say that the liquor they stock is somewhat limited. The bartenders know what they are doing, and are very friendly and interested to talk to guests and share their knowledge. We really like the light and airy aesthetic of the place, and they seem to have great daily specials. Good food and drinks, a great look, and very nice staff. What more can you ask for?

The staff was great. The cocktails were great. I was however, disappointed in the food. I ordered the shrimp and grits for brunch which came with 3 large shrimps, however they had their heads and tails still on. Normally this wouldn't bother me, except they were at the bottom of the bowl, covered in the grits. So I had to pull them out, covered in the grits, peel them, and then had to fish detached shrimp eyeballs, antennas and legs from the grits. It was all very messy and totally took away from the entire experience. If you order this dish, I recommend asking they peel the shrimp for you or put them on the side so you can peel them yourself.

Great music and atmosphere. It's a small and cozy place but with a lot of character. The menu is small, but with fantastic options. Try the grilled avocado, bacon, and shallot side! The cocktails looked really good, but we didn't have any.

I have never had something that I didn't LOVE! The beet/peach salad is to die for, please have someone at the table get the fried chicken sandwich, the grits are locally ground and have the most amazing texture, seafood stew broth I could drink on its own....literally everything on the menu is worth trying! We have two kids and the staff/chef was incredibly accommodating. Do yourself a favor and treat yo self here!

I have 2 say... I generally anticipate less than perfection for the first 6 months, but I cold not fault our dining experience Sunday evening. The carpaccio w/ fried oysters was a quite substantial portion & the design, execution, presentation & flavors were impressive. We actually remarked about how quickly it came out. (It was early & they were not very busy). The wedge salad was MASSIVE in size w/ equally big flavor. Wut is in that dressing? The salmon was a nice size & to our waitress's surprise, the kitchen executed PERFECTLY on my temperature request "to the rare side of medium rare". Considering they've just opened... Maybe I got lucky... But seems I'm not the only one. I'll be back for happy hour soon.

Not my first time eating at this address, but the last inhabitants were of the Bootys infamy, and to me that means mid-level food served by an indifferent staff in an environment fraught with design contradictions. Now we've put that ephemera behind us, thankfully. Recently, my mate and I decided to treat ourselves to something new in a somewhat played-out food scene in the Bywater neighborhood. Cafe Henri proved the winner, a delightfully delicious and dependable meal at a nicely renovated spot. The piece de resistance was the service, being personally greeted and farewelled by Kurt(sp?), one of the proprietors. Great environment, delicious food, nice service. Very attentive staff, and they seemed to genuinely care about what they were supposed to care about, which is refreshing and somehow made the food taste even better. I'm not exactly a foodie, but I can appreciate eating a meal I can't possibly imagine or cook myself. To note, I tried the grilled avocado with bacon/shallot/citrus, the corn on cob (don't recommend...they need better quality corn for this dish), the salmon (tender, perfect), and the BRISKET LASAGNA. Yep, that's right. Hot day and all...

Wonderful cocktails, great food choices - a bit on the pricey side. One sad instance though...I found a long hair in my chicken sandwich, like, in the batter......they comp'd my meal and apologized sincerely+asked if there was anything else I wanted/needed. Little curious though, this is the same spot that @Booty'sStreetFood was located - and now @CafeHenri has the same setup...same-ish menu, and seemingly the same "rotating menu". The other place closed down suddenly without notice...#hairinthefood?
