Yelp
My last review from 2020 I gave them five stars and I stand by that. Only everything has changed.
This review was from a group of four, and I'm trying to be nice here because I used to love this coffee shop restaurant, and bar.
2-stars really slow service and made multiple mistakes however, they were friendly, and seemed like some of them were trying.
1-star food was on the bland side and way overpriced
4-stars the Kungpow mixed meat plate was mostly good but the chicken was dried out.
4-stars for the BBQ bacon Cheeseburger, I asked for med-rare (they asked what I wanted), I got well done, and there was no BBQ sauce on the burger despite the menu saying it came on it. Otherwise, it was a great burger
4-stars for the fried mixed rice bowl was good, with a huge portion and tasty but not as good as most take-out Thai or Chinese restaurants
3-stars they brag about their fancy dessert milkshakes with it's own menu. It looked nothing like the menu pictures. The shakes were sloppy, falling off the sides and mushed together. Taste-wise it was mild and kind of like a cheap fast-food shake (only it was not cheap at all).
1-star Diet Pepsi, the first one was visibly flat and watered down, everyone on the table asked if there was something wrong with it. I told the waitress who was polite about it (as was I) she indicated one of the machines doesn't work right (then why did you use it). The replacement was filled to the very top with ice and about a half cup of Diet Pepsi (keep in mind they charge $4.50 for a soda). It had a few bubbles and was less, flat but not really normal. I drank that one had to ask for another, the third was again watered down and flat. I sent it back and was told they used the bad machine again. They forgot to bring a replacement.
1-star, the bill. We had to ask for it after waiting a very long time, then waited a while longer for them to bring it out (the restaurant was mostly empty and there were at least 6 visible staff standing around). Our meal for four people with no alcohol and only two of us with a soda was $148.00 before the tip! That's simply insane for mediocre food, poor service, and a not-very-convenient location.
I brought the other three friends with me after bragging that I used to come in here all the time after work when I came to LV for conferences or trade shows and I frequently stay at the Elara which is attached on the other side of the mall.
In the not-too-distant past you could valet a vehicle and pay what you felt was ok, and some places charged $10 and you tipped a few more bucks most places in Las Vegas. Planet Holywood Vallet was $40 bucks and they wanted a tip on top of that.
The self-parking is very far away on the other side of the mall and the Hilton Elara was one of the last holdouts with free parking. Now, our two-hour meal (that should have been an hour or less) cost me $20 bucks more and the escalators were broken too. I had to run through the Elara, through the mall which is under major construction, and find Cafe Hollywood only to learn the quality had gone way downhill and the prices had skyrocketed. All in we spent $183 with no alcohol or desserts with what was the equivalent of a Denny's or IHOP only in a dining room with celebrity photos on the walls and a little better presentation on the plates.
This is the last time I will be in Planet Hollywood, it's Cafe Hollywood, or the Hilton Elara with its overpriced parking it shares with the casino and Miracle Mile mall. Greed has ruined a good thing.
