The Best Hot Chocolates in Montreal - Eater Montreal

"Beyond some solid coffee options, ideal for the mainly student crowd around McGill, this intimate café offers a luscious and creamy hot chocolate. Mast Brothers, the producers who provide the chocolate, source their materials sustainably and with a minimum of packaging. The café is a small place but well-loved, and has a vibrant, engaging atmosphere. There’s another location around the corner on McGill College, too." - Karin Murray-Bergquist

10 Best Coffee Spots in Montreal | Condé Nast Traveler

"With '90s style hip-hop beats, an aluminum ceiling, and students buried in their laptops (there are outlets in back), this downtown coffee spot is always a crowd pleaser. As a fun decor touch, there’s a retro school desk that’s repurposed as a caddy for sugar packs and other accoutrements. Croissants from Hof Kelsten, sweet and savory scones from Godley & Crème (which are baked fresh in-house at Humble Lion), and other treats satisfy all cravings while studying." - Karin Eldor

This has the best coffee we have found across Canada! We’ve been on a long trip and all the major stopoffs across the country! Here we have superfast service, great coffee and even skinny milk! We are very grateful for the three days we have spent in the wonderful coffee we have consumed! We bought at least 2 cups per day! Awesome!

Always love trying new coffee shops! Found this one just walking near the university. It must be good if it’s near college students who need to stay up late to study😌. I got an iced mocha latte. It was good and a small portion. I would’ve wanted a slightly larger one next time. It was good and I enjoyed it after our hike up Mont Royal. I also bought a bag of coffee beans as it smelled good!

Cozy cafe with tasty drinks, perfect for a stop on a Winter Day. Their london fog was smooth with the right amount of tea flavour. Cold water was available on the side to self serve if you needed it, which was a nice touch. Seating wasn’t the most comfortable given the size of the space and some chargers weren’t working at all. Some hangars was available for you to hang your coat especially nearby the washroom.

The perfect place to grab a cup of coffee. If you’re considering studying here, I’d recommend arriving early since the space is quite small. There’s something about the coffee and the atmosphere that makes me want to study—it feels like I’m in a movie when I work there. Their pastries are also really good.

I've been here multiple times and the service is consistently bad so I have to write a review. Their cup sizes seem to change from week to week, with this week a "medium" iced beverage being in a 6oz cup. And this wasn't a mistake as I asked for confirmation that this was in fact the correct size because I was shocked they would charge $6.33 for that. Additionally the quality of their drinks varies by day, sometimes good, sometimes I get a subpar watered down version of what I ordered (chai, matcha). Also be warned their espresso is brutally bitter, almost undrinkable. I have given this place enough chances and I will not be going back and I suggest they make some changes because this is incredibly frustrating. At this point it feels like I'm being scammed with the amount they charge for this quality of service. For potential customers: spare yourself and go to any other cafe, the Starbucks is a block away.

A lovely spot right next to McGill University that offers some delicious fresh coffee. As you enter the store, there’s a nice soothing smell that I can’t really tell what it’s from. The coffee is pretty good, a good energizer before a day at work. If I was still a student, I would for sure study here with a cup of their wonderful coffee.

Terrible experience. The barista was rude. First the attitude when telling me to go to the cashier where I’ll be served (the tone super rude). We asked for the wifi to be fixed, and when she was asked again, her response was “if it’s not working I can’t do anything for you, I have a lineup here” and continued making coffee. I wouldn’t be surprised this coming out of racism. Definitely not recommended and surely not coming back.

Top coffee - even espresso allongé which is not easy to find (Americano is usually not the same) and delicious fresh scones and muffins and more. Cozy atmosphere good internet, friendly staff and the best sort of university vibe.
