I was really excited to try this place out and wanted to enjoy it. However, a few aspects of the experience were off-putting.
I'll start with the positives: This is among the more interesting venues in the context of sitting in a residential neighborhood (in what seems to be a repurposed home) but also not too far from the main drag of Sandy Springs. I even enjoyed the piano and the South Africa theme that was prevalent through the posters and notices. Decor was eclectic and partially wacky.
The people working there are clearly busy...juggling many responsibilities relating to host, server, billing, cooking, etc. It almost seems like they are understaffed, but they were really friendly nonetheless.
I ordered a keto breakfast plate. Took a little while to come, but when it did, it was pretty decent. They forgot some other aspects of my order, but it wasn't a big deal, and I didn't really care.
What bothered me was that, at the end, when paying the bill, you can see the kitchen and the worker making the food. That worker then served the food to customers outside and touched the doorknob and the door itself. Any common sense sanitation protocol suggests that after you turn a doorknob, you should wash your hands before handling more food. But he didn't do that instead went on touching more food with his bare hands upon returning to the kitchen. Needless to say, I was turned off by the lack of hygiene.
