We came for breakfast during rush hour on a Sunday, there was a lot of people but we were able to get seating quickly and get our food in a timely manner. Service was great everyone was really nice and the food was good too.

My favorite breakfast in Austin. The grilled blueberry muffin is one of my favorite things to eat but anything on the menu is delicious.. This place is also super affordable and has great price and the servers are always really fast and friendly. But 100% come for the grilled muffins. Also love their specialty lattes. I always try something different this time. I had a really yummy Matcha. My friend and I love to come here as a group because they’re fast and yummy. Honestly, it’s a super unassuming place in a strip mall, but the breakfast is amazing. Definitely get there early though it can get packed pretty quickly.

It was terrible the food was bland chicken fried steak taste like burnt flour the sausage was salty. They somehow forgot n took forever to make me a basic black coffee. after I let the waitress know nicely about my food I still paid full price, $40 down the drain. N.i wasn't going to leave a review n I wasn'teven upset about my food THAT WAS UNTIL....the rude old lady with the salt n pepper hair who said "we don't have to ever come back." Jokes on u I won't I don't even live in this city. Our friends decided to take me n my husband out before he deployed. But my husband said the lemon blueberry pancakes were really good.

Delightful little place that seems to be very popular with crowds of all ages. We were seated fairly quickly despite the bustling crowd. We ordered the Italian veg. Omelet, vegetarian sandwich, some appetizers, and coffee. The food was served piping hot, and the portions were generous. Loved the sandwich , it was flavorful, and everything was fresh. The coffee, however, was lacking in taste and strength. Everything else otherwise including the staff , service, and atmosphere, was great. The lively atmosphere tends to get a bit noisy, but it lends to the overall joyful ambiance.

I've never had a meal at Cafe Java that was not perfect for what it was. I really think that this place deserves a Michelin star, as it is the best place to get a meal in a long distance. I have no explanation as to why... the menu is longer than I would think sustainable... they have been around longer than I have, and one would think that time would cause the quality to suffer, but no. It's a small establishment, and come early, because there will be a line. Wait staff are absolutely professional. The house coffee is transcendent. For breakfast, the chicken fried steak and eggs are my go-to. I can taste the effort to tenderize, season, bread and fry the steak... Other places I taste the microwave, freezer and truck.

On our continued hunt for a cheap and delicious breakfast place we found ourselves at Cafe Java. We’ve taken their coffee to go many times but never fully sat down so we were very excited. The restaurant does get packed very frequently so we put ourselves on the waitlist through Google. When we arrived we were seated immediately, skipping a line of 5+ parties (it pays to prepare). Upon sitting down we were greeted (kinda, not really) by our waitress who was very low energy and avoidant. She took our orders through a handheld device and didn’t lift her eyes up one time during the process. We ordered a corn beef hash platter, the French toast, and cinnamon rolls. Our food came out extremely quickly despite how busy the restaurant was which was nice to see. To sum the food up: it was not good. The corn beef hash tasted like they uncanned it and grilled it for 30 seconds before plating it. The hash browns were average, the eggs a bit below. The French toast was not good, lacking any flavor or real depth to the actual bread, as well as the bacon looked crispy but somehow was not. We had very high hopes for the cinnamon rolls but were met with the laziest excuse for one we have ever seen. The roll itself is large and coated with very little icing and a ton of strawberries (why???). It tasted like a hint of cinnamon and pretty much capped off what we were feeling about the food to that point anyway. Throughout our time there our server didn’t check on us once, not even to refill our cups of coffee. When it was time for the bill and to collect her tip was the only time she showed any real enthusiasm to come over. Maybe it was a series of unfortunate events, maybe it was an off day. Either way it’s safe to assume we will not be back to try Cafe Java out again.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cafe Java, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! The food was great, and the prices were very reasonable, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to enjoy a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. I ordered the BLT which came with crunchy hashbrowns, and it was simply fantastic. The sandwich had the perfect balance of toasted bread, crispy bacon, crisp lettuce, and ripe tomatoes. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors and textures that left me wanting more. Beyond the delicious food, Cafe Java also boasts a charming atmosphere. The cafe displays an array of local artwork, which not only enhances the aesthetic but also creates a unique style and sense of community. It’s a place where you can enjoy your meal while appreciating the creativity of local artists. Overall, I highly recommend Cafe Java for anyone looking for a great meal in a welcoming environment. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this cafe is definitely worth a visit!
