Where to Order Last-Minute Christmas Dinner in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"I found Josephine Estelle’s family-style meals start at $130 and serve two to four, with a menu that includes butternut squash soup, roasted turkey breast, a campanelle kit, and a chocolate pumpkin pie, available to order online." - Clair Lorell

The serveur was tolerant of my attempts at poor French and spoke English well enough to make up the difference. The roasted chicken was delicious. The French Onion soup was very strong and a large serving.

The service is very good—staff are attentive and eager to help, which made for a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant gets quite crowded, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. As for the food, it was average overall. I do recommend trying the egg in red wine sauce—it was the standout dish. You can probably skip the steak and duck, which were underwhelming. The drinks were enjoyable, and the overall atmosphere was warm and vibrant.

Rico was an excellent server!! Very kind and went above and beyond. Even convinced us to try escargot for our first time! The food was delicious. My salad was very fresh. Thank you for a great evening

The service here can feel inconsistent — very friendly if you dine in, but less welcoming if you only order drinks. There is no clear minimum order policy, yet customers may still be criticized afterward. Most importantly, I noticed the credit card charge was higher than the bill, so it’s best to double-check your payment.

Rico was a gem, treated us well and a lot of fun. He even managed to convince one of us to have the snails! Recommend the establishment for a casual afternoon, a great time.

We walked past Cafe Josephine after a long day. It looked cute so we stopped in. They were super welcoming from the minute we arrived. Rico was kind and funny. The food was excellent and the drinks too!!

Please do yourself a favor and don’t come to this restaurant. High prices for food that was mediocre at best and foul at worst. I had the linguine with langoustine and they smelled and tasted awful (like those algae that have a strong stench next to the beach) while the pasta itself had no flavor. I couldn’t take more than three bites before giving up. The fries were bad, and the Tigre qui pleure was also terrible.

This was one of the best meals we've had in Paris. The waiter was witty, charming, helpful, and friendly. Dinner /was/ the show, as each course was more magnificent than the last. Fresh, seasonal ingredients were the star as enhanced by the chefs shining abilities. We were surprised to find a sauce on the barata and tomato plate. It had a complexity to the flavors that was delightfully unexpected. The wine pairings were spot on and relatively inexpensive.
