Cafe Juanita - Review - Pasig - Manila - The Infatuation

"Cafe Juanita is a great spot for a family-style Filipino meal. The restaurant is set in an old family home, which looks more like a vintage store filled with lamps, birdcages, wooden figurines, instruments, and art, so expect an eclectic ambiance that sets the stage for the wide-ranging menu. There’s even asection of Thai food, but it mostly features traditional Filipino dishes—practically every single one you could possibly think of—from adobo and binagoongan to laing and pinakbet. With such a huge space and extensive menu, consider going with a big group to sample everything. If you’re with a smaller crew, then kare-kare and crispy pata all the way." - Jasmine Ting

This place is really the bomb. I highly recommend going here. All their staffs are very attentive and friendly. PLUS they really care and remember their customers ❤️ for me, that's true customer service.. My friend hasn't been there for a while.... but the staff still recognized her! I'm in awe when I heard then converse. It's really amazing 👌🏻❤️ I'll also add that one of their female staff noticed that it's my birthday today when I gave my PWD ID 🫣 she suddenly surprised me with a cake 🥺❤️ it was super yummy. I even thought it was my friend's shenanigans... but the staff did it out of her own will. and greeted me happy birthday upon giving the cake with the candle lit..... it really made my day 🥺❤️ THANK YOU! sometimes, a simple gesture means a lot already..... bottomline, I loved their service. THE FOOD! their food tastes like home 🥺👌🏻❤️ it feels like your parent cooked for you but with a little twist... that's how it feel and tastes like... with warm blanket wrapped around your mouth 😁🫶🏼 me and my friend tried their bicol express and Vietnamese spring rolls. and We both loved both dishes ❤️❤️❤️

I had dinner with friends and we decided to try Café Juanita for the first time. I’ve heard good things about it, and I must say, it did not disappoint. The place has a very unique and charming interior—eclectic in the best way, with details that make the whole dining experience feel special. The service was excellent, with the staff being very attentive and accommodating throughout the night. For our meal, we ordered the beef rendang, baby pusit adobo, and salted egg prawns. The beef rendang was the standout—rich in flavor, with meat so tender it practically melted in your mouth. It paired perfectly with rice and was definitely my favorite savory dish. The baby pusit adobo had a deep, savory taste and was cooked just right, while the salted egg prawns were flavorful and satisfying. To end the meal, we ordered two desserts: the baked alaska and canonigo. The baked alaska, in particular, was the highlight for me. It was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked—perfectly torched meringue on the outside, topped with honeycomb with cold, sweet ice cream inside. Overall, Café Juanita offers a memorable dining experience that I would gladly return to.

We just added Cafe Juanita in our list of go-to restaurants. We tried their crispy spring roll, yummy! Try also their sizzling sisig and kare-kare, just a few of their bestsellers. For dessert, try their toffee pudding with a cup of black coffee. Their baked alaska also did not disappoint. 😋

THE ONE AND ONLY !!! Great ambiance 👍 Good Filipino Food👍 Wonderful Service 👍 This restaurant has been around for a while and dining here never gets old. Two floors are available for small and large groups and the tables are sectioned well just so your group can still have privacy. We liked everything we ordered and the ambiance is amplified by the owner’s exquisite collections of various native crafts. (You need to dine in and see for yourself) The food prices are a little bit on the upside but still reasonable for they offer. In case you feel having a different menu, check out their sister restaurant right next door, that serves Japanese food. Lastly, they have ready to purchase food in their freezer section with right portions for a shared meal.

Mixed experience. The Breakfast Sampler, while promising, was dominated by fish dishes and was overly salty. The tapa was sweet and tasty. The Laing was delicious and a highlight of my meal. My companion also enjoyed their crispy corned beef meal. The exterior of the restaurant was promising, though when you go inside, expect an eclectic albeit wacky mix of decor and interiors. As an old house, it's overall quaint and charming. Overall, it's worth a visit for some of their standout dishes, but there's room for improvement.

Cafe Juanita in Kapitolyo, Pasig, is a beloved institution in Metro Manila's dining scene, known for its eclectic decor and extensive menu of Filipino and Asian fusion dishes. The restaurant's interior is a feast for the eyes, with vibrant colors, antique furniture, and a unique mix of vintage and bohemian decor that feels warm and whimsical. It's the perfect place to bring out-of-town guests or celebrate a special occasion. The menu at Cafe Juanita offers a wide variety of classic Filipino dishes with a twist, along with some Asian-inspired options. The Kare-Kare, with its rich, peanut sauce and tender meat, and the Crispy Pata, perfectly fried and flavorful, are must-tries for first-timers. Their Sinigang na Baboy is also popular, with just the right balance of sourness that warms the soul. In addition to its ambiance and quality food, the staff at Cafe Juanita is friendly and attentive, ensuring guests feel right at home. Although the restaurant can get quite busy, especially on weekends, the service remains efficient. Cafe Juanita offers an experience that goes beyond just dining. Between the unique decor, flavorful Filipino dishes, and warm service, it’s a place where you feel like a valued guest. It's on the pricier side for some dishes, but the overall experience is worth it, especially if you're looking for a memorable meal in Kapitolyo.
