"Another well-known and loved spot in Dallas, this is the place to try butter chicken, mutton korma, and vegetable biryani." - Courtney E. Smith, Didi Paterno

Google
We found Cafe Laziz on accident about a year and a half ago and we’ve visited as many times as possible. The food is always absolutely amazing, super tasteful and always hot. Everyone is so kind and they’ve helped explain a few of the menu items when we first started visiting. This visit we tried the samosas for the first time (we’re from ETX and don’t have any Eastern food options) and they were so good! The atmosphere is a blast, too. It feels cozy but it’s also clean. Cafe Laziz is worth the 2 hour drive every single time. We recommend the butter chicken, chicken biryani, and the beef samosas!

we arrived into Dallas pretty late at night and thankfully cafe laziz was open! we tried many things off the menu and we absolutely loved each one. everything was prepared with such skill and taste. i can’t recommend this place enough. a must visit.

Google
Ordered delivery. Mutton biryani and a naan. Looks good. Tastes like cardboard. Pretty sure this super dry tasteless meat is beef not goat. The rice taste like Spanish rice. All tomatoe, no spice. Gros.

Google
We recently visited Cafe Laziz and found the experience to be somewhat disappointing. The atmosphere was below average, and the cleanliness was just okay, not quite up to the standard I was expecting. One of the most frustrating aspects was that the food menu didn't match what was offered in reality, which led to some confusion and unmet expectations. Overall, the experience at Cafe Laziz left much to be desired.

Google
This place is nolonger Pakistani it’s Afghan. The food is not worth what they charge I paid $15 for a really dry chicken. But there ice cream was good. Overall not worth it better of going to Irving or Plano if you want good Paki food.

Google
3 stars....They have late hours and the part of town is a little rough so that gives them an extra star. The Philly Stake was pretty gross. Onion rings were ok the Garlic Naan was good. I think there is probably something good on the menu that I'm missing out on but I'm not sure what that could be. I want to give them one star but the cashier was very friendly to me as the cook was speaking to him in a foreign (to me) dialect. Saved by the Naan

Google
large portions of delicious food 😋🤗 we had to wait a little longer than usual, but most importantly it was very tasty and satisfying. Thank you

Google
This was our first time here. The food was nice and flavorful. We had the Karahi chicken and Naan with Mango Lasso and Hot Tea. It took over 30 minutes for food to arrive but it was delicious when it arrived.

Sumiyya A.

Yelp
excellent karahi chicken very yummy taste must must recommended fast service with good attitude

Yousof H.

Yelp
Great food and Afghani Shir yakh is my favorite in this place I will be back for more

Omed M.

Yelp
Wow amazing food staff is amazing very fair. If you want Afghan authentic food they have it as well. But most of all chapli Kabab and Afghan burger this is the place. Don't believe reviews until you don't come try your self.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place, a lot. It's a hole in the wall and smells delicious. But, Worst online ordering service ever. I placed an order around 10pm (they close at 12a) and when I arrived at the estimated ready time, they didn't even know I had placed an over $70 order. I asked to add some rice to my order either online or type my card number into their POS system. They told me the person who manages the POS system was asleep (we should all get valuable sleep, period) but, bc he was asleep I also couldn't add to my online order I placed less than 20 minutes ago which they weren't able to locate. I will give an update on taste and quality at a later date but at the moment, I'm very unimpressed. The end.

Jessica G.

Yelp
Food was bland and greasy. Portions were small for the price point. Probably if they gave rice with my curry I wouldn't have had an issue. It's usually standard at other restaurants. I won't be back.

Sarah F.

Yelp
If the flavor wasn't so good, this rating would be much lower! I understand with the rising cost of supplies, prices are changing. But when your menu has one price, and it's its electronic I would suspect you'd be able to update it easily. However that was not the case. Items were listed as one price yet I was charged a dollar or so difference( higher). Also SIDES ARE NOT INCLUDED!!!!! I ordered the mutton Korma, as well as the buttered chicken. I was asked over the phone with I wanted rice or naan, with each item. I ordered rice with one meal and garlic naan with other, also a side of the chicken samosa. I wasn't given a total over the phone, so much to my surprise, my total came to just under $50!!!!!! To me that seemed a bit high, for fast food to me. I was later informed that I was charged for the rice as well as the garlic naan..... where they do that at?! If I had ordered both meat options and hadn't specified which side I wanted, does that mean I would have been given two containers of meat and sent on my way?! If not sides are included in each meal, is it still considered a meal? Again, if the food wasn't so fire, this rating would be much lower. Transparency would have helped my customer experience a whole lot. But at least the staff was kind as I stood there freaking out about $6 rice and $6 naan!!!!!‍‍‍

Yelp
I ordered the butter chicken, vegetable biryani, and naan bread. At first I thought that the butter chicken serving size was very small for the price. But I mixed it with the rice and naan bread and the flavor of the spices in the butter chicken made it so rich. They do serve very generous amounts of rice. Definitely did not go hungry and the flavor was worth the price. Only thing I would recommend is the ordering system, as my order was not prepared until I arrived. But I will always give more leeway to locally owned restaurants! Plus the restaurant is very cozy.

Seiko M.

Yelp
This was my favorite restaurant, I always order the same thing, butter chicken curry and korma. Today when they arrived , I was shocked. The taste has completely changed. The quality has dropped drastically. The butter chicken curry is now bland, and the korma has become meat bones in water.I'm really disappointed that I cannot my favorite taste anymore, hopefully they turn things around, but after this , I will not be around to find out.

Kamran B.

Yelp
Location looks small but not too bad inside. Food was cooked within 20 minutes and it was fresh, naan was good and fresh too. Quantity didn't match the price but overall it was not bad. Service was decent too.

Ivy J.

Yelp
I ordered from Uber eats and I don't know if it was an off day, but my butter chicken was horrific. It was very bland and swimming in oil. I had to season it myself on delivery and still couldn't save it. They didn't include my Naan either. When you're starving and the food is still horrible that's when you know it's bad. Luckily I ordered the chicken patties which were delicious but probably not home made. I cant recommend or return here.

Wilson S.

Yelp
Very bizarre experience. Curry with no write rice or roti...have to order separate. No water served... Butter Chicken was excellent... when the chef or hostess is behind the counter you can't see them from the table so if you need anything you need to go and wait at the counter...where they still can't see you... overall food was decent.... Did I say the butter chicken was excellent. 3 stars if there wasn't covid...4 cause everyone is trying to survive

Savannah H.

Yelp
Really lovely little hole in the wall, amazing food and great prices, staff was helpful and efficient. Channa Masala was delicious and full of flavor, the nann and rice were hot. Rice was large and perfectly cooked. Mango lassi was perfect to wash everything down!

Alan W.

Yelp
Great place love the food the manager is a nice person id recommend all items to try out I have nothing but great things to say about this place !!!

China F.

Yelp
The owner is very nice and helpful. I ordered the butter chicken and it was very good

Vee J.

Yelp
Terrific food and my go-to for a treat every month. Authentic in the sense that this is what you get if you order from a south asian street vendor and eat it right there hot off the pan. The spices are thus a little coarser but delicious. Chicken Korma and Karahi with naan and paratha to sop up the plentiful gravy is comfort food. The chicken biryani is quite good too. The authenticity does translate to a higher rice-chicken ratio as seen on south asian streets but we have no complaints. We often enjoy the remaining rice/naan for subsequent meals. The leftover parathas make for an excellent snack as is. This is my second positive review for this place (the first must have been on Google 3-4 years earlier).

Rashad A.

Yelp
I really enjoy this restaurant. The food is made fresh and super authentic. The owner is hands on and very personable. This is my go to spot to cater food for my family's pre-Ramadan feast. Love the Chicken Biryani, Butter Chicken, samosas, and the naan.

Leed M.

Yelp
We love this place and have been ordering from them for over a year now. The best indian food outside of Richardson I've had. The manager is super nice and makes great conversation. The best indian place in Lake Highlands, I hope they stay in business for many years to come!

Sumbel A.

Yelp
I wish the owners luck but they need to step it up. This is careless Desi food. I wouldn't eat here again. Also one of the men working there was very rude. It's funny now but we ordered keema paratha (which is bread stuffed with ground beef) and he brings out keema separate and paratha separate Keema was indelible. Paratha had been prepared prior and were reheated. The mutton korma was all bones and no meat. When we asked about it the same guy rudely said that's how it is, with bones. Been eating Desi mutton dishes my entire life, understand it comes with bones...those bones have meat on them. Also ordered the papdi chaat- don't do that. Also preferred the daal fry, it was ok. The naan was good. But that was the only thing that was tasty.

Griffin P.

Yelp
Food tasted ok, not much chicken in the butter chicken, but what really got me was how bad the kitchen looked. It obviously hasn't been cleaned in months AT LEAST.

Jacob K.

Yelp
Great hole-in the wall spot. Stopped by this place and the owner and his wife were very sweet and loving. Food was delicious.

Courtney L.

Yelp
Idk what to rate it honestly, I would recommend the butter chicken. Seeing the other 1 or 2 star reviews, idk. We ate to-go so yeah. But food should be pretty good, we got some for everyone in my family and they liked it.

Darien B.

Yelp
This was the worst Indian food I've ever had. The food was swimming in oil and they gave me a rotten lime. I became nauseous after eating the food and tried everything to keep myself from throwing up. Please save yourself the trouble.

Jacob G.

Yelp
This place is delicious! Their sauces are amazing, however if I had anything negative to say it would be that I believe that they use the same chicken which is possibly frozen and pre-fabricated to put in the butter chicken because it was the same chicken with fake grill marks in my chicken Shawarma. With that being said it hits the spot the sauces are amazing the chutneys are amazing the samosas were really good and they deliver longer than most restaurants do

Bardia J.

Yelp
Probably the worst indian food I've ever had... I ordered Mutton Korma ($17) and it had only mutton bones... I wish I had taken pictures! My roommate ordered Goat Paya and he wasn't happy either! Unlike most indian restaurants we paid extra for steamed rice (which is technically part of both dishes) Overall, I feel I got ripped off!

Khalid I.

Yelp
Formerly cafe Pyala. Just had lunch and had chicken Karachi and qeema paratha. Awesome experience, reminds me of sitting in a chai dhaba. I am definitely coming back late since they are open late

Renee' S.

Yelp
Food was very authentic and delicious!! Just the right amount of heat if you can take it!! Amazing samosas!

Aman C.

Yelp
One of the better Pakistani restaurants in Dallas Area. Went there for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed their Chicken Karahi. The owner is really sweet and he gave a free Chai as well. Highly recommended!!

Zubin J.

Yelp
This is the best Pakistani food I have eaten in the DFW area. Everything is freshly made to order and is of the highest quality. From the beef samosas to the mutton you cannot go wrong with anything on this menu

Beatrice N.

Yelp
Fantastic butter chicken curry and seekh kabab! The butter chicken was creamy with good quality chicken. The Naan bread was fresh tasting and very good as well. Some of the best curry ive had in a long time.

Angela W.

Yelp
Omg please don't go here. The man dealing with the food was touching his cell phone and random things and did not wash his hands. They served me very old and stale paratha. I was hella hungry so I ate the samosa chaat but it was luke warm and the chana masala smelled rotten so I asked for my money back for the chana masala and paratha and the man became upset and yelled. Please DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. There HAS to be better eatable Indian choices where you are.

Debbie I.

Yelp
Love it! And honest people! I left my wallet and they kept it safe for me until the next day. Food is so good, if i dont have time to cook Indian I call Cafe Laziz

Lana A.

Yelp
I needed a quick but tasty Indian delivery today and I'm glad I went with Cafe Laziz. I ordered the butter chicken and rice (yes, if you want rice you must order it separately otherwise you will only receive the entree) and it was flavorful. The chicken was tender and seasoned well. The sauce was a tad bit oily but with most dishes that have some type of dairy or cream in it, I've noticed it will separate no matter what you do. The garlic naan was great also. Will definitely try the samosas next time for sure! Delivery was also super fast :)

Charmayne A.

Yelp
Truly a hidden gem. Great food and great service. Didn't know what to expect since I normally stick to what I know but this was definitely worth the experience. Although it doesn't seem like much due to the size, it will become a favorite.

Sue H.

Yelp
Ordered Chicken Korma via grub hub. Usually a favorite. This one was very different. In short, not good. It was very spicy for a usually creamy sauce and the chicken was on the bone, which seemed crude. It did not come with rice! Bizarre, I had to make my own. Overall unpleasant experience.

Joline J.

Yelp
I ordered the Goat paya it was just two pieces of fat. There was absolutely no meat. I'm already irritated that I can't get a restaurant experience. I expect to get the best food experience ordering delivery considering that's their only means of income. My husband and I are both stuck at home because of the food industry so I expected better quality! Very disappointing.

Dennis C.

Yelp
Really good fast Indian food. It's not stunning by any stretch, but great for a late night curry. Definitely one to come back to. There are some issues- entree dishes don't include rice, and the menu is a bit smaller than the typical IndoPak place. Also, staff communication can be challenging... Me: "Do entrees include rice?" Cashier: "Yes, they do." Me, later: "Why did you charge me extra for rice, you said it was included?" Cashier: "No, I said you could order it if you wanted it."

Vee J.

Yelp
Terrific South Asian (Pakistani/Indian) authentic food. When I say authentic, I do not mean fancy fare served in fancy restaurants in South Asia,..this is good wholesome food reminiscent of that available on the street...hot, flavorful albeit a little delightfully coarser, bonier and oilier, ...perhaps with the down-to-earth customer service of a hard-at-work chef/cook, ....and quite satisfyingly delicious. The naan was our favorite... very good and an excellent means to sop up the curry. Korma chicken had a nice zing to it. Vegetable samosas and gulab jamuns were good, though a tad simpler than we are used to. They slipped in an extra gulab jamun in our pick-up order, which was nice. We will be back.

Kayla B.

Yelp
The best Pakistani food I've found in Dallas. Everything is fresh, hot, well-seasoned and absolutely delicious.

Maryam G.

Yelp
One of our favorite late night food in Dallas. The food is consistently good and always temp hot when delivered. Chicken Biryani, butter chicken and naan are our go tos.

Debbie I.

Yelp
I love Indian food and these people do it right!!! The butter chicken and chicken Korma were so delicious. These guys not only make delicious food but are such good honest people! I have ordered here for take-out several times but this one time I left my wallet on the table and they kept it safe until I returned the next morning! Thank you!

Stanlin J.

Yelp
This is originally cafe pyala. The food is absolutely delicious and is so reasonably priced. I highly recommend the chicken biriyani and the naan!
