Cafe Le Rue @ The Landings

Talk about flavorful and delicious!!! We were visiting Columbus from Ozark, AL. My husband was in the mood for fried catfish. We searched Google to see what was around and we decided to give this restaurant a try since they offered fried catfish and had a New Orleans flare. They did not disappoint!! The atmosphere was chill and the service was wonderful. We started with fried mushrooms. The were hot and crispy with tender whole mushrooms inside. They were served with a very tasty dipping sauce. The catfish was fried to perfection. Crispy, seasoned outside with a soft and flaky interior. The grits were out of this world. Hot, creamy, and full of flavor. We'd never had grits like this before. I ordered the shrimp and crawfish etouffee over the same delicious grits. Tender, juicy shrimp and crawfish in that velvety etouffee!! OMG!! I wished we lived closer. We'd definitely be regulars at Cafe Le Rue!! Take a bow sir!! You're definitely out here making taste buds dance!! Late review from January 2026

First time here...Sunday early afternoon, no wait, not busy. Waitress was nice but seemed hurried with no one really there. Ordered hushpuppy appetizer but we never got it...food came out so we just didn't say anything. Had pasta bowl with sausage and french toast bacon cheeseburger, 2 waters....$37 ish. Pasta was really soft and taste like jar sauce...when I think of Cajun I think of authentic flavors, luv and soul in food but this wasn't any of that. Cheeseburger tasted strange and they only cook it well done, no other option. No flavor at all. My husband got sick when we came home after eating as well. One and done for me.

Go see Kelly at Cafe le rue, you won’t be disappointed!!! I ordered the Shrimp & Crawfish Étouffée over Rice. Maybe the best I’ve ever had. If you like Cajun food, don’t miss Cafe le rue.

Ms. Kelly is a lovely server and my compliments to the chef who made my delicious read beans and rice and desert of beignets w/strawberry. As I just returned to Columbus from New Orleans a few days ago, I must say that this was on point & a lovely reminder of the delicious food I ate there. Phenomenal job, Team Le Rue!

Don't waste your money on the Applebee's right next to it go to this place! Food was fantastic. Made by Chef Bernardo. Our server, Kelly was very sweet and attentive. I will say that the atmosphere could be rated a 4 instead of a five simply because the place is on the small side. It's a lovely hole in the wall but it deserves to be in a bigger location.Their outdoor seating area also could use an update.

Fantastic location! Discovered it through thr local news, and decided to give it a try. One of my favorite locations in the area! Food is amazing, I got the Mardi Gras Pasta, which came out with much more meat than I expected, in a good way! Flavors and seasonings were fantastic! Their beignets are perfect too! Just don't inhale while you're eating them unless you wanna be coughing powdered sugar lol Ms Kelly is a phenomenal server! Very nice, homely attitude, and was more than willing to work with us on anything! Highly recommend this place!

Had brunch with my husband today! He’s brim Baton Rouge and very picky about his Cajun food. We ordered the gumbo it was very tasty. Just wish it had a description stating it had tomatoes and okra in it. If we had known we would have picked something else. Don’t get me wrong it was great we just picked the okra out. The beignets were fluffy and not greasy! We will be back for sure!

I had a google reservation with cafe le rue I was running late and my friend was already there and we were met with kindness even though we didn’t arrive at the reservation time while keeping our spot. Mrs. Kelly was our server and she was so nice and made great recommendations, the food was amazing and it was really good. The shrimp was fresh and so was the okras and green tomatoes. Our experience was awesome, Mrs.Kelly was constantly checking up on us making sure we were ok. I definitely felt welcomed there and the vibes were great I definitely will be back.
