Cafe Lemon not only makes you feel good about Harringay, and about London; it's one of those very rare places that makes you feel good about being a member of the human species. You might not even notice that it's happening, since it could almost pass as just a slightly offbeat neighborhood caff, and most meals there are about what you might expect--if you're not paying attention, you might not realize until a second or third visit that everything here is really tasty, really wholesome (free range eggs, totally fresh juice) and really cheap. And then it might take a few more visits before you get to know the unique characters who run the place, and the locals who congregate here, and get fully attuned to the cordial, creative, unpretentious atmopsphere. Finally it will dawn on you that the place where you pay rent and pick up your mail feels less like home than the Cafe Lemon. At that point you face a choice: change the rest of your life to make it more like Cafe Lemon, or give up and move in. (If you do, dress nicely, mind your manners, go out for a long walk during busy times, keep ordering a little something every half-hour or so, don't neglect to pay your bill, and tip generously.)
