As a frequent visitor to Las Vegas, Cafe Lola was always my go-to spot for a delicious, decadent iced coffee. I loved everything about it - the charming vibe, the indulgent drinks, and especially the large iced coffee I'd get, which was always a treat to start my day. But after my most recent visit, I have to say, I am incredibly disappointed.
First off, they've drastically reduced the sizes of their drinks. I went in hoping to get a large iced coffee, and to my surprise, the biggest size they offer now is about a 12oz cup. I couldn't believe it - I used to get a much larger iced coffee, which made the price feel more justifiable. Now, for $13, you get a tiny iced coffee that's no bigger than what you'd find at a regular chain coffee shop. It just feels like a major downgrade. And to make matters worse, they're still charging the same price as they would for the old, larger size. To be honest, it feels like they're taking advantage of loyal customers, especially with how inflated the prices are for such a small serving.
But the biggest disappointment for me? They took away their 24k Gold drink - the one item that I would look forward to every time I visited. That drink was hands down the best thing on their menu. I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling this way - it was a signature item that set Cafe Lola apart from other spots. But now, it's just... gone. That, combined with the new smaller drink sizes, makes it feel like the company is just trying to cash in on their popularity, without any regard for what made them special in the first place.
It's really upsetting because I genuinely loved this coffee shop. It was the kind of place you would tell all your friends about. But with these changes, I can't see myself returning. I understand businesses need to evolve, but this feels more like a money grab than an attempt to improve. I won't be coming back, and honestly, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone anymore.
So, if you're like me and had a soft spot for Cafe Lola, be prepared for some serious disappointment. What was once a beloved spot has now become just another overpriced, small-sized coffee shop in the city. Shame.
